OMG. SO BAD. We went here because Cattlemans had a 30min wait. My wife got the large chopped steak patties, and that was so bad she sent it back and got the enchilada. Both were just AWFUL. I mean it looked like prison food and tasted like it was made with all chemicals. It took like 20 bites to chew the steak patties...kinda like they put tire rubber in there. I got the turkey plate and it was ok, but the gravy looked like melted shiny jello. Anyway, all yuck yuck yuck. Thank god I made a extra $50 for nothing today, cause if I had to actually work for this meal I would have hurt someone. PS: The service was fine and wait staff was very polite. Went in for Brunch on a rainy Sunday morning. We had an extremely kind and funny waitress that gladly filled my mimosa glass often. I got the cinnamon roll french toast. LIFE CHANGING. It was incredibly sweet and delicious mix of two of my favorite things to eat for breakfast. I had the unlimited mimosa as my drink and let me tell you, they do not skimp you on the champagne at Brookfields like most places. My boyfriend got the Denver omelet and loved it very much. Went this morning for Mothers Day breakfast and was disappointed. Hubbys chicken fry steak was dried out and the crust was hardly cutable. My medium rare steak was well done and my over easy eggs were too done. The potatoes were good but cold by the time we were served. Country fried steak was terrible. Seemed like a thick chewy burger with thick breading that didn't stay on. I have had a lot of country fried steak and this has to be the worst. Fries are terrible as well, overall for the price I would say it's not worth it. Breakfast so far is the only thing that is good. read more

I wish I could do a half star because this place is not worth three stars. I would give it a solid 2.5 at most. Waaay overpriced food that I could have easily made myself at home. And service? There basically wasn't any. I saw two (TWO!) tables got up and leave because it took so long for anyone to even ask for their drink order. I guess I was "lucky" that the host got my drink order and brought it to me. The server didn't stop and greet me for almost 9 minutes. Between the cost and the horrid service, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. The only plus side was that I didn't have to make the lunch myself, but it would have probably been faster to just make it at home. read more

Today I was with a party of 7, including three kids. Brooke was our server, and she may have been the best server I've had ever - anywhere. She was so attentive, paid great attention to detail, was just friendly and wonderful. If I could give this restaurant a 10 star rating I would. Every time I go, whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the food has been superb. The staff is absolutely wonderful. We've gotten the same waitress several times, but it doesn't matter who you get, they are all wonderful. I've brought several friends to Brookfields, who have now made it their favorite restaurant. This was our 3rd visit to Brookfields in Roseville and never again. I am shocked at all the positive reviews but that has not been our experience in any of our 3 visits. People were nice and service was ok but the food just wasn't good at all. On our first visit, we had breakfast and our food was served cold and had to be sent back. The omelet that I had was so spicy that I couldn't eat it. On our 2nd visit (thinking maybe we just ordered wrong before so give it another try) we had lunch. Ordered the roasted turkey and gravy. Didn't taste anything like fresh, must have been frozen, it was soggy and tasteless. The potatoes were cold and tasteless. OK, so I'm a glutton for punishment but took the family back for my 3rd time. I had the fish & chips and just could not eat it. The fish was mushy and soggy. I sent it back and the manager came over and apologized and removed it from my billed and asked if she could get anything else for me. She was really nice but no excuse for poor food on 3 different visits. Our waiter also came over and apologized and said he also had the fish & chips and one time it was good and next time he had the same experience that we did. Now does that tell you something?? So glad for you folks that had great experiences here but that was NOT our experience. Lesson learned not going back. read more

Service was good. I ordered Cornbeef/hash with the two eggs.The overeasy eggs was way undercooked. The white of the eggs was partially raw/clear sitting right in the middle between the two eggs yokes and underneath the eggs on top of the hash. Easily visible and a meal turn off. I stared at it for a few minutes than decided to just scooped out the raw eggs and put it to the side of the plate. I didn't want to send it back or make a seen since I was with a group of people plus someone else at my table was paying for my meal. I like over easy eggs but not under cooked like this :( read more

Great Lunch!! Brought my family out to lunch today and found the service to be delightful. The Ranch Steak (Flat Iron) and Prawns was fantastic and the price was much lower than I expected to pay. It was fascinating to find out that all their meat comes from their own meat company (Reed's Gourmet Meats'). I recommend this location and hope that everyone else gives them a chance. read more

Typically we eat or order out at the Brookfields in Rancho, since that is one of the few restaurants within five miles of our house. However, I find that most Brookfields are about the same, which is good in my book. They are like a much higher quality, greater selection Denny's with a nicer ambiance. You know, family friendly, American diner food. What we really like about Brookfields is that you can get breakfast anytime and they even have some non-American food choices, like some Mexican, Mediterranean and Asian specialties. When I am not ordering breakfast here, I typcially go for the Greek salad with gyro meat and homemade tzatziki or the Seared Ahi Wasabi Burger. Both of which are unexpectedly good for this type of restaurant. Honestly, the Ahi Burger is FAR better than the one I had at the hyped new restaurant at Arden Fair Mall and is $2 cheaper and comes with fries or salad. You can't beat that. On this particular occasion we had been in Roseville at a kid's birthday party where the only thing served was nasty $5 pizza and hyper colored cupcakes. This obviously left the adults in our party quite hungry after chasing two toddlers through the park in the heat. On a Sunday evening of a holiday weekend this particular Brookfields location was fairly empty and we were seated right away. They are well situated to take care of kids with a kids menu, crayons and coloring sheets. We all decided to get breakfast for dinner. My mom and I split the California Benedict (bacon and avacado) and the Chile Verde and Jack Cheese Omelette because we wanted both and it worked out that way. My husband got pancakes or something, I can't really remember for sure. Both of my kids got a breakfast plate with pancakes or french toast, an egg and bacon and they gobbled it right down (and they actually ate the pizza at the party!). All of our food was tasty and satisfying and reasonably priced. Service was good and we left happy at the end of our weekend. They also sell fresh baked goods and massive desserts here, although we were too full to partake. Often when my mother picks up food to bring to our house she also grabs a giant brownie and a few of their oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that we snack on for several days afterwards. Dinner here, 1st time customer. Menu is updated diner fare (old favorites plus things like crusted ahi tuna). I had the carved roast beef, my wife the patty melt and my daughter the ahi tuna burger. Everything was prepared well, seasoned well. None of the entrees comes with soup or salad. Prices are low, most expensive dinner entry is $20, but portions are on the small side (no leftovers) and without the soup or salad, I'd say it's fair. The carved beef was good, 2 very thin slices, with mash potatoes & gravy, steamed veggies and a roll...as I said, typical diner fare. I notice most of the rave reviews are from breakfast eaters. I found nothing wrong here, its clean, bright, good service, well prepared food. It is just nothing special either. Restaurant was clean, server was friendly and attentive. Food was different than expected, but tasted good. I got the Mr. M's Benedict and my bf got the California Benedict. Mine is the traditional with ham, but it wasn't quite a steak and the sauce was slightly different than hollandaise but still good. We also got a side of biscuit and gravy and it came with this super delish strawberry jelly. I want to drink it straight. The only downfall with this place is they don't have hashbrowns. Look, there are very few decent coffee shops remaining on the West Coast. Almost all the truck stop, coffee shops, diners are either PLASTIC FOOD chains or just bad. This place is run by a Greek guy who knows what he is doing. Looks like a fancy Denny's at first, but, in general, very good quality food. Carrows, Mimi's, etc are all horrible now, so this place is a non chain relief. Good sandwiches and hamburgers. Great Cobb and Chief salad. Tortilla soup is the best I have ever had anywhere ! Breakfast orders are a little weak, which is a surprise for this kind of a place. Service is GREAT. Very well trained staff and not your typically dumb high school servers. Met up with my dad here early Saturday morning to get our breakfast on. Never actually been a Brookfields before, but the place seemed like a nicer version of a Denny's. Our server was very friendly especially when I wasn't quite ready to order. Well the thing is I havent seen my dad in a while so I was trying to catch up with him so when the lady came back to take my order I froze and ordered the first thing I saw, a Denver Omelet. Dad ordered the Western Scramble. We both got country potatoes. I got an apple muffin and he got toast. Now the omelet was fine, but it was kind of plain. Literally eggs, ham and peppers. No cheese or nothing. Should of got a scramble because my dad was raving about his and complimented it quite a few times. I have to give them credit because my muffin was the bomb. Coffee was refilled numerous times very promptly. I will for sure come back to the his place and order the scramble next time. read more
