Came here twice. The first time the cashier who handled money was so unprofessional. She would literally squat in the middle of transaction to take a bite of food under the register. On top of eating while serving food she would handle money with her bear hands and touch the register, bills, & dirty coins. Then pull the slices with her bear hands and hand it to you. I've been a big fan of BPC since they opened and I've very much looked forward to ordering it when I can afford it. I love their pies and they are probably the best in the neighborhood. One of the thing's that's so great about the pizza is that even though a large pie is expensive, it's HUGE, extremely filling and can feed multiple people. Yesterday, I was hanging with some friends and we decided to order Brooklyn Pizza Crew. One of the people with us was Gluten Free, so we decided to order a gluten free version of a pie that we usually order. Including tax and tip it was $41.32. We were very excited because GF pizza isn't always great, but coming from BPC, it was worth the price to try especially when splitting the cost between 4 or 5 people. When the pizza arrived forty minutes later, I was surprised to find a lighter, smaller box. I brought it upstairs, opened it and the pizza was PERSONAL sized. I immediately called the shop and complained and asked for a refund or regularly sized pizza to replace it. Nowhere on the website does it say anything about gluten free pies being tiny. After 20 minutes!!! on the phone I was reimbursed $11.98. And the manager ghosted me! He put me on hold for 10 minutes so I called back from my other phone and I confronted him about it. He refused to give me a full refund of a regularly sized pizza. I explained that I was splitting the pie with 4 people and that each person would spend $7.35 for 1 and 1/2 TINY slices. That is absolutely whack and embarrassing. Point being the quality of service doesn't come close to the quality of the pizza. I am extremely disappointed in the customer service and I will no longer be an ongoing customer. For personal pizzas, try any of the gourmet pizza places in the area and spend a lot less money and save yourself the frustration. *** UPDATE BPC made good on all of this and reimbursed me for the pie. I have continued to be a customer. The prices are high, but so is the quality. This experience wasn't great, but they did me a solid and I respect that tremendously. read more

Thank god for Brooklyn Pizza Crew. I've had some great pizza since moving to Brooklyn (duh) but it seemed that I live in a bit of a desert for great pizza...that is, until this place moved into the neighborhood. I want to be clear, this place can be slow. My pizza even came out burnt once. I. Don't. Care. This is the best (albeit not necessarily traditional) pizza I've had in my neighborhood -- and it's right around the corner, to boot!! I've tried a few different pies, including the tartufo, plan gramma's pie, and a few variety of their regular (round) pizzas. They have, uniformly, been outstanding. Their dough, here, is really special. It's perfectly chewy and has a well developed taste (almost sourdough-ey) that I really appreciate. Oh boyyyy... where to start... came across this place on Christmas Eve and was pleasantly surprised, it became the go to pizza spot... best garlic knots I've ever tasted... even my mother in law who is all about her traditional NY pizza liked this place! If you eat at the restaurant you won't have any issues I'm almost sure, but the take out is a whole different ballgame... the two new locations must be taking away the management's attention from the Nostrand restaurant and the quality control side is really lacking quality and control. The last couple times we ordered have been almost comedic, had it not involved time and money spent and hungry guests who had to wait for a second meal to arrive from a different restaurant, so let me share the recent pizza sagas: We ordered the Tartufo pie, which is a square pie with truffle oil, mushrooms, no red sauce- really delicious concept, anyway... 55mins later, what arrived was a round cheese pie with red sauce, so uncooked in the center that you could only pick up the crust part of the slice leaving all the cheese, base and sauce in the box, soggy mess... to make things even more interesting in the very middle of the pie sat a pile of uncooked mushrooms. It was as though somebody looked at the recipe and saw two words "mushrooms" and "pizza" and just went off the back of that... After a few laughs and jokes about how something like that could have happened we phoned the restaurant back, the young man on the other end of the line said that they had ran out of fresh mozzarella way before we placed our order and didn't want to send out a "random pie"... when I explained that what arrived wasn't what we were expecting, very much making it the feared random pie, he said the restaurant was closeting, and to call back for a comp pie the next day. When we called the next day of course nobody knew what I was talking about, and the guy who answered made me feel like he was angry at me, but after being on hold for quite some time I'm guessing somebody owned up to the shenanigans of the night before... our Tartufo pie was finally on the way... took an hour... the delivery guy was extremely pleasant, but the pie arrived charred... Won't be eating from this place for a while, and maybe the quality will come back up the next time we do. Pizza Crew, this is a closely knit community and most people go to Tony's pizza, so for a new place trying to stay relevant, consistency is important... read more

It was pricey, with the 4 dollar up charge to make for gluten-free dough, with tax & tip coming out to $25. The Paesano, with crimini mushrooms, roasted red peppers, italian sausage and basil is the best of the lot, and if you go for the huge whole pie... well, you either have many people to feed or you will have food for a few days (or you're a very brave person, and i salute you if you can finish the pie by yourself!). The neighborhood is in dire need of good pizza, and especially good slices. Everything I've had so far at BPC - margherita, grandma, L&B, even the knots - has been fantastic. The crust has a perfect crunchy chew and the tomato sauce is rich and fresh. I have embarrassingly eaten lunch here three days in a row this week. I'm a weak man, but damn this is some great pizza. With a $2.50 slice and soda lunch combo, it fills a necessary void for an affordable lunch that some newer Crown Heights restaurants have been missing. The pizza is awesome. But the staff is so obnoxious. I order this pizza twice a month and have done so since the place opened. When it opened I wrote one of the very first yelp reviews./. I told EVERYONE about the place and shared raves on my mommy message board of over 200 families. My typical order is half one off the specialty pies and the other half plain. Today the guy on the phone says they can't do that. Why the hell not? Im paying the price for the higher priced pie. Its NOT that much work...but the guy tells me I need to buy two pies. Despite being a regular customer since the DAY THIS PLACE OPENED, THE MANAGER tells me no, they won't do half and half. This restaurant is typically a really good restaurant the pizza quality is A-1. But their customer service is very lackluster, I ordered my pregnant wife her favorite pizza and unbeknownst to me there are two types of grandma Pizza's One with pepperoni and one with cheese. I was under the impression that I ordered the one with pepperoni based on the help I was received on the phone but upon arrival at home I saw I got a cheese pizza. I immediately call the restaurant for something that seems like an easy fix and they told me instead of correcting the order I need to pay for another pie because it was my fault? They then told me they couldn't give me another pie because inventory will count against them?? this place cares more about inventory than customer service. Holy schmoly! Was hitting about hour #2 1/2 waiting to get my nails done up the block when I decided to Yelp near me. Thank God I did! Took the brief walk and found this spot smelling amazing. I got the LP and the margarita and I'm forever grateful I decided last min to get an order of the garlic knots. Best knots I've ever had hands down! The dough was soft and has a nice chewy but cooked texture. The outside was slightly browned on the bottom giving it a nice firmness. The garlic flavor wasn't overwhelming. There was a hint of cheese taste. It was soooo good! The LP had this delicious sauce and crust while the margarita was thin crust and tasted pretty good. I shared with my cousin and she immediately decided to go after we left the salon lmbo. We did! ***update*** Went back mainly for the knots and they've changed them!!! I feel like something has changed here. Used to be the go to spot for a slice in the neighborhood. When k ordered two slices to go, immediately something felt odd with the cashier - he took the slices out of the case in the most awkward way. After paying and arriving home the slices were COLD and put in the bag backwards ( crust side first ). Overall very weird and hoping this is a one time occurrence. read more

As far as a neighborhood pizza shops go this is pretty damn great. I've sampled every pie on their menu and I'd give them all a solid 3.5 to 4 out of 5 except for the apple bacon pizza which I greatly dislike. Aside from the aforementioned misstep I'd say you're safe getting anything off the menu. I've ordered from these guys about 8 times so far and I'll continue to do so. I particularly love the regular cheese pie and the grandma. The regular cheese at BPC is an unsung hero. The dough has incredible crunch, the cheese to sauce ratio is spot on, and the flavor is reminiscent of Joe's Pizza but it's actually way better. It can stand along Scarr's and Best Pizza as an exemplary NY slice. Kudos to these guys for bringing quality pizza to a pizza desert. read more

I can't pick a favorite, and it's a shame I have but one stomach to fill. There was a bit of a delay with delivery, taking a little over an hour when it was estimated to be 35m. I came to this place and the guy was on the phone with his back to me and when he finished his call he looked me up and down without saying a word and left without saying a word. This is the 5th time we've had a frustrating food experience here. The pizza is phenomenal, the other Foods offered are fantastic, but *every*single*time* we've ordered there's been some kind of communication error. Items we ordered but never got, salads with out dressings, seamless orders that were delivered to the wrong address! And when they're delivered on time, the toppings are all mushed around from the delivery. We seriously love this pizza which is why we keep giving them chances to improve- but probably won't order for a while cause I'm tired of having a bad taste in my mouth from terrible service. In full disclosure I called about the last issue I had and they offered to help, but the problem is that it keeps happening. If I'm already paying for the convenience of eating out, don't make it difficult. Just get the order correct the first time. The second iteration of Williamsburg Pizza, this Crown Heights spot has the same menu as its older sister restaurant. We order delivery from here about once each week. When they first opened, they pizza was dough-y-er and was not the same as Williamsburg Pizza, but they definitely seem to have figured it out now here. The delivery is much quicker and the pizza boxes aren't inside out! The garlic knots are amazing- so delicious! We love all the pizzas here- Calabrese, Paesano, Tartuffo, Bianco. Everything is so damn good. The simple salads they have are fresh and do the job- the dressing is delicious. I hope they do some more delicious and different salads in the future. I would love to say yes, definitely try Brooklyn Pizza Crew, because the pizza is delicious (albeit a bit too doughy). BUT I have to say, beware of false advertising and lack of transparency that may lead to being overcharged and underserved. The typical BPC pizza is reasonably priced and generously portioned. It would be excellent if this were a reliable and consistent perk of patronizing this business. If you order a specialty pizza, however, it's way more expensive and significantly smaller, i.e., $45 including tax and tip, and maybe a third of the size. May I point out that a fancy pricey pie at Speedy Romeo or Emily is $25 max? The price/size disparity for a specialty pie at BPC is not indicated anywhere on the website. The appropriate thing for BPC to do would be to explicitly specify the size of the pizza so customers are clear on the lack of bang they're getting for their buck, especially because the large pie size is a huge part of the signature appeal of BPC. In this specific instance, we ordered a gluten-free pizza to accommodate a friend with a gluten allergy. The pizza was meant to feed 4 people (which is possible with a regular BPC pizza), but this gluten-free pizza was sufficient for 2. When we called to express our confusion and disappointment with the unexpectedly small and expensive pizza, the manager was adamant about issuing only a partial refund, which meant we still had to pay $30 for a pizza worth $15 at most. Furthermore, why is BPC making people with a food allergy pay so much more for so much less? It's outrageous. read more

Great spot - food is really good and the customer service was on point. Ordered gluten free cheese pizza half cup & char pep and it was spot on! Really good for GF crust, nice and thin and not dry at all. Caesar salad was good too, and they omitted the croutons like I requested. Placed the order though Caviar and I think their system was down so nobody picked it up for delivery. When I called the restaurant to ask about my order status the girl I spoke with was totally understanding and sent one of their drivers out because we were nearby. By far the best pizza delivery in the area. I may have a minor BPC addiction. The Bianco, Grandma, and Margherita are my go-to pies but the plain Brooklyn is great, too. Sometimes it's a little on the cool side when it arrives, but if you pop it in the oven for a couple minutes it really crisps up the bottom and tastes even better. Quick question, if you order a half pepperoni pizza, but ask for pepperoni on only 2 slices: is that unreasonable? I was told by Freddie in no uncertain terms that they could not do it, and that he would "never make a quarter pepperoni pizza". For context, I always order a quarter pepperoni pizza from this place. My 5 and 3 year olds insist that their pizza not be sullied by pepperoni. I've never had this problem before. Recommendation: order from Not Just Pizza on Nostrand. I came in 45 minutes later and they said another 15 to 25 minutes. I asked to speak with the manager. The woman I never seen in the place before said she was the manager and only got rude with me. The pizza here is perfect! Get the grandma slice. The crust is perfectly done and there is just the right amount of sauce. There are lots of other great flavors as well. The grandma slice is a little smaller than their regular triangular slices. I swear their garlic knots are just dipped in butter but they're terrific--you absolutely need to try it.
