Several years later, we're still dedicated regulars. This is by far our favorite spot within a 20 mile radius. We've explored their menu as meat eaters, and about 2 years ago we went plant based and they are so incredibly accommodating. The staff, hands down, is the best around. The owner is so personable; with my dietary restrictions, he has made menu accommodations based on my requests, and has never made me feel like I'm a bother. I've also catered lunches for my office of 70+.. everything arrived on time, hot, ready to serve, and delicious. I can't speak more highly of Brooks. They hit the mark in every category. Discovered this gem by accident and now it's my go-to. The food is so delicious, they have lots of gluten friendly options for my preference, AMAZING cocktails (I recommend the Prairie Runner), and super staff. The service is outstanding. Huge plus - they handle COVID especially well with a large outdoor patio - including heaters and socially distanced tables. Any item we ordered was delicious my sister and I shared the following dishes and each portion was absolutely perfect: The ahi tuna ceviche was our absolute favorite out of the dishes we got. Fresh, citrus flavors woke up my mouth on a humid day like today. The cheese curds weren't a lot, which was good for an appetizer, and they were the right amount of cheese and not greasy at all!!! My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice outdoor casual place with live music for dinner last night. To say Brooks exceeded our expectations is a huge understatement. Nice music. Really good eclectic menu. But the star of the show was Brittney. She was running her ass off all night and yet still made us feel like she was there just for us. Thank you Brittney for making our night special. Great suggestions, service and smile (even through the mask we could tell). We had the Italian egg roll for an appetizer and then split the shrimp stir fry (the special) at her suggestion and it was superb. Great job Brooks. We will be back! read more

This used to be one of our go-to places in my family. It was a favorite of my brother's who unfortunately lost his battle to brain cancer yesterday. We called asking to host a small gathering this week after his memorial and we were treated incredibly coldly and were told there was "no way" they could host a "party" on such short notice and they do not take reservations on Fridays. The way we were treated by the manager and owner...it is safe to say we will not be going back. I came here to meet some gal pals for dinner and drinks. The inside is super chic chic looking. It's very fresh and clean inside! The drink list was nice and comprehensive- lots of craft beer options, wine (including flights!) and cocktails. I stuck with beer and had two nice selections that were reasonably priced. I ordered a burger and fries, which were great! My favorite part were those fries. They were loke a curly wedge fry, it that makes sense. I've never seen a fry like that anywhere else! We went on a Saturday night and sat outside as the weather was about 60. It's a nice patio. They were slammed and understaffed, so there was a longer than usual wait for pretty much everything. The cheese curds were outstanding, the Baja fish tacos were good, but the rice was over cooked and inedible. The burger was just a burger, nothing different that I would make at home. So much promise yet so average. Not bad, not good just average. The atmosphere was chill with good and friendly service. The food was the issue. Italian beef egg rolls??! Exciting? Should be but ok. Then I got the patty melt on sourdough, burger was cooked more than asked, thousand island was barely noticeable. Don't get me wrong the ingredients/plating were high quality but it just didn't build up to deliciousness. We've been to Brook's a few times now, and usually it's great. Barring some undercooked pork chop on one visit, the food is usually quite good. It did seem like a menu shake-up happened within the last month or two, maybe for the better? The servers seem stressed out - though I can't say why. The food was good, but the prices have gone up and they charge a service fee. We stumbled upon this place over the summer when we discovered they had a patio. We have been regulars ever since. Tonight, we had the best service we have ever had. Jordon was attentive without being overbearing. He came right over to greet us, was polite, and helpful. He brought our apps right out, and checked in a few times during our dinner. He thanked us for coming in, and told us to enjoy our night. He further told us to enjoy our holidays. Brook's is wonderful. My mom and I were looking for a place to host my sister in law's baby shower, and Brook's came up. The price was reasonable and the event coordinator was incredibly accommodating. At one point, the coordinator, Lola, even emailed us to say that the chef suggested switching a dish as we had ordered two and most people cannot finish one. The shower went so well! Our server was really on top of refilling drinks and had a refill before we were even finished. Everyone was really pleased with the event -- my mom wanted to make sure I wrote a review afterwards. We've also visited for regular meals and the portions, prices, etc. are also great. They could have some more vegetarian and vegan options, but that's nit picky of me. Overall I super recommend this place! Word of warning, though: it's a little hard to access; you have to turn immediately after the stop light on Meyers Rd. to find the parking lot. read more

What I liked most about Brook's is their attention to yummy food & service detail, with a goal for diners to be happy with a memorable experience. For my friend & I, that's what it was. Twice, management came by to make sure we were enjoying our meal. Sure, prices appear to have gone up in since opening day. and are somewhat steeper than the traditional fare offered all over the neighborhood; but not so steep that they stand out in a negative way. I can quickly name 6 popular places in a 2 mile radius that are slightly more expensive for similar type dishes as well as 6 more restaurants that are less pricey and faithfully underwhelming. What's immediately notable is the fact they transformed the location to a new and cool venue. High ceilings, grays and taupes, comfy seating with a lot of seating options, roomy yet warm. Brooks did a good job feasting the eyes of their diners. On a miserable day outside, we felt comfortable for more than 2 hours, inside. TV's were on for both basketball and football, but not overwhelming views and/or conversations. This is, after all, a bar. Glassware, utensils, all mold into a unique, clean setting. The water carafe reminds one of the old milk glass jugs. Water is chilled just right and there's a consistent carafe on the table. The menu is all over the board in a good way. There's a lot to chose from. The lunch menu on Saturday is the same as the dinner menu, so if looking for lunch prices, diners will have to come on a weekday or perhaps Sunday. I'm not sure about Sunday. Am only aware that the weekdays use the lunch menu during lunch. We ordered the focaccia and butter because my friend wanted bread. It was ultra fresh and delicious. Worth every penny of the $3.95 charged. The grilled wings were delicious. An ever so slight kick with meat that was as moist as it was flavorful. A very nice size portion for $11.95. Two pasta entrees were really quite delicious. My friend and I liked the Kitchen Sink Pasta made with an abundance of ultra fresh veggies, grilled tofu, fresh herbs and tomato that perfectly balanced the bucatini pasta. The dish was $19.95, I think; while the Bolognese was more meat laden with gnocchi, beef, pork, lamb, buffalo mozzarella and parmesan - was equally delicious at $24.95. Slightly steep for lunch, but not when considering that portions were very ample and the dishes tasted so good. We ordered a side of blistered asparagus, which maybe consisted of 7 thin pieces. While good, I'm not sure they were $6.95 good for that size portion and for a veggie that was rather plain, especially next to pasta dishes that were full of flavors. We ordered them sans salt, but I'm not sure it was the lack of salt that made them sort of lacklustre. It was my friend's birthday, and we were brought out a full sized Churro donuts dessert that was amazing. Service by Kendra was excellent. A very nice addition to a very suburban area that while boasting a lot of restaurants; the majority of them are small chains. Everything at Brook's is just a little bit different and up a notch in almost every way. When in the neighborhood, I will definitely return. read more

We stopped in on Saturday evening, without a reservation, and had no problem getting a table. I will start by saying the chairs are extremely uncomfortable. I did provide that feedback when we were leaving. It is unfortunate because this would be a place to linger after a meal. Acoustics are such that you are able to have a conversation with another person sitting at your table. There are plenty of restaurants where that is just not possible. I found plenty of thing on the menu that I considered ordering. I guess that means a return visit. Fish tacos and Butter burger were delicious. However, I did notice that another person had posted a photo and their Butter Burger had lettuce. If I order it again, I guess you have to special request lettuce. So this is the old Volare space, with some walls removed. Just a word of advice, on a cold evening you do not want to be sitting where a blast of cold air from the revolving door can reach you. I was told to check the website for their lunch menu ~ I did ~ and it pretty much looks like the dinner menu. They are open for lunch, Tuesday through Friday, temporarily closed on Mondays, brunch on the weekends. We were stuffed, but a return visit will include dessert because the selections sounded very tasty. Also, the trendy serving water from a bottle with no ice ~ not a trend I favor ~ so I did have to request a glass of ice to keep my water from reaching room temperature. Service was attentive and I am planning on meeting friends for lunch. read more

Went on Friday night around 5 pm. Sat at a table in the bar area. It was extremely loud and echoey. Could hear everything that was discussed at the bar and the seats behind us in the restaurant area. Needed some soft textiles to help with the noise and cold feeling. We made it for happy hour and decided to try a few of these. The sliders, egg roll, and buratta balls were all delicious. Low rating was during happy hour it was $9.00 for 2 very small sliders. Same for the egg rolls and buratta balls. That is $4.50 each for something smaller than my palm . Wine was still $9.00 a glass , once again it is happy hour. Beer was a good price. It will probably do well for the businesses that are there, with an expense account . We will not be back. He made me the perfect dirty martini and we had the egg rolls to start. They were AMAZING!! If you're a vodka drinker, I recommend the organic one they serve. Next up was a great salad, the Brook's chicken. ( they were more than happy to switch out baby greens for romaine per my request). I am disappointed they aren't using the dedicated space they have for gaming, for a live band. That was a nice draw when it was Volare and I think could bring in lots of business.
