I was seriously craving BBQ when I stopped in here! Sadly I was still really craving BBQ after I ate here. This is the equivalent of a McD's for BBQ. The pulled pork and the shoulder were good, but nothing to yelp about. I liked that the fries were slightly overcooked in a good CRUNCHY way! However, the peppered raw cabbage that was supposed to be the coleslaw was horrible. HORRIBLE. The bright side is that the staff were great! Last note... I see mostly positive reviews for this place, and that's cool, because I think, for the most part, many Denverites have never had REALLY good Q. Not their fault, it's extremely tough to get good Q in Denver, and trust me, campers, Brother's BBQ ain't it. The meat when I ate here was, firstly, tough and chewy. And that ain't good Q. Secondly, the rub is WAY too peppery, just overpowers whatever smoke might have made it into the meat. Rubs are fine, a good rub can enhance the meat, but Bother's needs to cut way back on it, or get rid of it altogether. All told, not a place that leaps to mind when I think of BBQ, and that's a shame, because there are far too many Mexican joints and not enough BBQ pits in Denver. read more

I've nothing bad to say about Brothers except that it's no Jabo's. They do all the meats and sides well and serve them up quickly. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich slathered in their Carolina mustard sauce with some beans or fries on the side. If you're craving 'cue and pass a Brothers, stop in and you'll get your fix. They're all around Denver Metro now and are pretty consistent across the locations. Think of Brothers as the Chipotle of BBQ. It's not going to blow your mind, but it will be good, and fast, and it is probably close. read more

I cannot believe. actually paid for this food. I will give credit to the tenderness of the chicken and the pork ribs. But the flavor was very sub par and very expensive. I was hoping to try some pretty good local barbecue and I would have ended up just going to Famous Daves had I known it was this bad. The food lacked flavor. I had macaroni and cheese and potato salad and beans. The beans were pretty good but very spicy. I think the potato salad came out of a carton and the macaroni and cheese was very bland. This is one of those joints where you order up at the front cashier and have to wait a few minutes for your food which is fine except for the young girl this was the cashier seemed very frustrated i ordered an extra side. I ordered a meal and wanted an additional side and her exact comments to me were "wow girl slow down I can't keep up". Also for two sides of barbecue sauce. And that seemed to irritate her. Hot link sandwich, is not really edible as a sandwich but the super duper yummy! 4 different sauces, got for the super hot and the tangy! I was surprised that this place is pretty darn good. I had always driven past the multiple locations and thought it must not be good because it's a chain. Boy was I wrong. We went here around 8 one evening and ordered a 1/2 rack of pork ribs, chicken bbq sliders with mashed potatoes and slaw on the side. Not only are the servings nice big portions they were fresh and delicious - they must prepare them several times a day so their food doesn't turn back into inedible garbage (take a note Moe's). We got the food to go and the people were pretty nice to us while we waited a little bit (10 minutes). I in fact appreciated this wait though, because to me it meant that they were preparing it for us - not just grabbing pre-made old, disgusting food. After simmering for about a half hour, the girl and I headed in for a taste. I don't dig swine. But, I do love bbq and tried the beef. WOW, You could say this was sushi grade beef. It was soooo good that I came back in a week to have another. The sauces are fab. I love HOT but this is not smokin. The flavor is good though. The sweet sauce is damn good. Maybe it's because I'm so amused by the legend of the two British brothers who came to Colorado and decided to show up all the Yankee BBQ joints, or maybe it's because I do love those ribs. If you're not exactly a barbecue fanatic, you might benefit from asking for sauce on the side or requesting lightly sauced-up meat. Here's the thing, this place is fast/casual, not fancy, but a genuinely good BBQ joint. I've been a number of times because it's consistently good. Last Friday I had the fried chicken and holy moly was it good! Crispy, flavorful, tons of meat, a bit greasy but very good. I've also had the pulled pork (with slaw on top, of course) and that's great too. Another reason to like this place is the choices of sauce. For people like me who have a hard time committing to just one flavor, it's great to mix n match. Us flavor spazzes can have a great time with the sauces here. I'm a Kansas City native so I've had my fair share of the best barbecue in the country. Obviously my opinion comes a "little" biased, and because of that, I wasn't excepting too much. We ordered the sampler that included pulled pork, chicken, beef brisket, pork ribs, sausage and 3 sides. Pulled pork was easily the best out of the arrangement and the sausage had a nice snap and great smokey flavor as well. Ribs, chicken, brisket were all fairly dry and tough. BBQ sauces, which I think they make in house, were nice- especially the spicy sauce. Don't get me wrong, this place smokes a mean pulled pork but other than that, just a decent BBQ joint. Colorado does many things right. BBQ just isn't one of them. I think I'll probably stick to the BBQ empire that is Kansas City. read more

I went here based on Yelp reviews and ultimately, wasn't disappointed. The place is casual but not in a dated way. It's actually a visually interesting place with lots of colorful wall "art" and racing themes (I think the owners used to be professional racers, actually). The food was very good but not exceptional. The pulled pork sandwich was plentiful, not skimpy. The roll that it came with decent but not outstanding. The brisket was very good, too. Very tender. With crispy if not slightly burnt edges too...yum. The basket of sauces was THE BEST element of the meal as it allowed us to flavor our dished according to what made our taste buds happy. We had fun mixing up the various sauces including those with mustard, molasses, and vinegar bases, not to forget the HOT sauces made with habanero peppers. The coleslaw was almost void of any dressing (supposedly a mayonnaise based one). I don't like tons of heavy mayo engulfing any salad but eating twigs of uncooked cabbage wasn't exactly making my taste buds dance. The baked beans side dish was tasty but lacked the pork bits the menu claimed it had. It was a bit too water-y for my tastes (I like a thicker sauce). Loved that they had self-serve soda drinks so a refill was just a stroll up to the counter whenever I pleased. IYou might expect a traditional BBQ place to be fronted by a scruffy, bearded, Harley-riding type of renegade but that was not the case at all. Look, this is awesome barbeque. The beef ribs are great. This was, however, the coldest restaurant I have eaten at in ten years. I asked them to turn up the heat, and they gave me some lame excuse about venting and the fans. I was nearly frozen when we left, and my father in law was frozen. Other patrons left their winter coats on for the entire meal. Eat here, but if the restaurant is cold, take it to go. As I read, and now agree, the Pulled Pork sandwich was good. I like that the bun is more substantial than just a white piece of bread. I only cared for one of their bbq sauces though. The beans were basically a can of Ranch-Style beans with too much pepper and I would not order them again. Mashed potatoes were tasty and the brisket was pretty darn good too. I would go there again but my biggest complaint was paying 6 bucks for a tiny portion of "smoked tips." I have paid less for more. read more

Way overpriced for the quality of the food. I imagine if a health inspector came in while we were there, they would have been shut down. That's couple times I have been here, the portions have been really small and quite expensive relative to the amount of food served. Now they seem to have jacked their prices way up, in exchange for a heaping pile of burnt, dried out food. The place was also very dirty and I almost decided not eat there. The food was so nasty that I regret my choice to stay. 2 days later, my stomach is still upset from that mess. I ordered the 5 rib meat dinner. It was hard to tell how many ribs there were at first, and most of the meat was not on the bones, but burnt together in a heaping pile that was stuck, burnt, dry, and nasty. It almost seemed like it was the scrapings from the grill. The sauces all taste watered down and don't have much flavor. This place has really gone downhill. After meeting one of the owners a couple years ago, I am surprised they are still in business. He was a mean, aggressive jerk who wanted to fight me because of how I was handling something with the city. Waiting for this dump to close. read more

We had them cater a 1 year old's outdoor birthday. The food was delicious and a huge hit! The meats were so tender! Their mac and cheese is the bomb! For starters, any establishment that occupies an old 7-11 has a leg up in my book. If it also has booths, it's working it's way towards an automagic 5-star no matter what the cuisine. Everyone has their top-shelf turn ons. Let's get one thing out of the way. Brothers belongs to neither major US BBQ camp. It's not NC, nor TX BBQ. So, if you want to whimper about not-this, not-that, go find some frozen dinner somewhere to complain about. Alas, Brothers does not have booths - just great food and some license plates on the wall they got on the cheap when Bennigan's closed. Actually, they're a tad more classy, but eat-in isn't what Brothers does best. I usually do the take-out, buy waaaay more than I need and relish the leftovers. I give it a strong 3, just shy of a 4. They make the 'hood smell good, and they're a nice addition to 6th Ave. Little 'spensive on the ribs, beans are perfect, chicken to die for. As a testament to how much I love Brother's, we had it catered for our wedding welcome dinner up in Breckenridge. It did not disappoint. Everything was awesome, logistics were simple, the staff was great with communication, and the food was on point. We had lots of visitors from out of town and several commented that it was the best BBQ they have ever had! The spicy BBQ sauce was a big hit. Highly recommend for catering! I tried Brothers BBQ last night. It was my third time eating their food. My opinion remains the same. I do not recommend it. It's not terrible, but there's barbecue in Denver that is so much better that it's a waste to go to Brothers. The ribs are okay, but there are much better ribs in Denver. The sauces are okay, but only okay (I liked the sweet sauce best). The cole slaw is nothing special. The potato salad is not bad, but it's not good enough that I'd ever order it again. The beans were the best side dish, but still not great. Brothers is in convenient locations, but that's about all there is to recommend them. The cornbread was amazing - I would get extra orders of it next time! There was a big group of us, so we got hot links, ribs, pulled pork, chicken and Mac and cheese. I hadn't been in this place for a few years; I remember it was the bomb when I went to school, but seemed kind of expensive at the time. I came in here for lunch today & I guess it's not that expensive when you're not living on student loans anymore. I had 1/2 rack of pork ribs. I seemed to have remembered the meat falling off the bone, but not today. They were good, don't get me wrong, just not great. The spice rub is awesome though. I haven't given up on you Brothers yet. Don't know of a better spot near Cap Hill, so I'll be back. Plus, I don't anyone else in town that serves beef ribs. It had been at least 2 years since I last been to this spot but decided to go with a friend recently and was very glad I did. It wasn't very crowded and the staff was very helpful to us when picking out enough food for two people. I do think they can be a little over-priced on some of their items like the side dishes. I've eaten at Brother's many a time, and am always satisfied, but never impressed. I grew up in Texas with a pit smoker in my back yard - I know what good bar-b-q is. And Brother's is alright. I wish their brisket sandwich included sides and/or a drink for almost $9. It's nice to have a little reminder of home, even if it's not spot on. The food here is fantastic, but to-go and delivery orders are never correct. Twice, I have waited an hour for my delivery only to have items missing or my order wrong. Once, I was given gravy in my bro cup, even though I stated no gravy on my order. Since it was at the bottom of the bowl, I didn't realize it and ate it, which didn't bode well for my Celiac's. GrubHub/Eat24 will not refund your money when you call to complain. I wasted $38 tonight on food tonight that is useless to me. What a shame. Visiting Denver and looking for BBQ this place came up in my search. The decor was very garage like with auto signs and license plates. Its an order then sit down and they bring your food to you type place. I got the pork ribs with Mac n cheese while my bf got the pulled pork with baked beans. Thought the ribs were cooked perfect but flavor was a little lacking. Without the BBQ sauce on the side it would have been disappointing. The Mac n cheese tasted like it came from a box of Kraft but edible. My bf's sandwich was huge and he said it was really tasty. Overall average place for me, lil above average for my bf.
