Visiting Denver and looking for BBQ this place came up in my search. The decor was very garage like with auto signs and license plates. Its an order then sit down and they bring your food to you type place. I got the pork ribs with Mac n cheese while my bf got the pulled pork with baked beans. Thought the ribs were cooked perfect but flavor was a little lacking. Without the BBQ sauce on the side it would have been disappointing. The Mac n cheese tasted like it came from a box of Kraft but edible. My bf's sandwich was huge and he said it was really tasty. Overall average place for me, lil above average for my bf. I had a quick lunch with a coworker and everything was perfect. There was no loud music playing so we were able to catch up on the office gossip without having to raise our voices. It was nice and warm inside, unlike many other restaurants and my freezing office. The beef ribs were succulent and the fries were nice and hot. I couldn't ask for anything more. I don't know if this place even deserves a 1 star rating. I met a friend there for lunch today who I hadn't seen in 20 years. We both ordered the beef ribs plate at $19.95 with one side. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich. When our ribs came they were covered in a very tasty BBQ sauce but on the 5 ribs there wasn't even meat to even take one good bite. I went up to the counter and shared my displeasure and asked to switch to the pork rib plater. 10 minutes later I'm brought what looked like 4 little ribs. They were tasteless. I parked here and was prepared to order a to go order for my coworkers and myself, we all work at the hospital. So everyone decided they wanted tacos instead of BBQ so I went next door. I understand that parking is sacred and I apologize for monopolizing a parking spot for 15 minutes while I was picking up food for myself and my coworkers. Again, I usually and frequently order here. ....but petty is coming out to my brand new Jeep to find bumper stickers all over my doors, the hood, the back gate, everywhere!!! Had dinner here tonight with a mixed experience. First of all, the young lady that took my order was great. Additionally she checked on me twice while I was eating which never happens when you order at the counter. Ordered a sandwich and fries. Fries were delicious and piping hot while the sandwich was served cold/room temperature. My complaint is that the sauce containers, ketchup and salt shaker were all sticky/dirty. Probably from people licking their fingers and touching them. Gross. These should be wiped down daily at the least. I could tell they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. read more

I'm from Kansas City, making me a BBQ lover by default.... I tried Brothers a few times when I first moved to CO because I heard good reviews. My review is a bit different.... I never once had meat from Brothers that wasn't dry and making me think it's been sitting around from the night before or been sitting out all day long. Brothers is more towards the worst BBQ I've ever had, hands down. The sauce is alright but the meat is horribly dry. BBQ should come with the sauce on the side as to not mask the flavor of the meat and allowing you to put the amount of sauce on that YOU want! Also a BBQ joint isn't legit without paper towels on the tables. No Napkins! read more

For the days when I consider it a small miracle that I've managed to roll out of bed and dress myself, such as the day after the Great American Beer Festival, the pulled pork from Brothers BBQ tastes like a godsend. On those days (and really, most days), I don't care about authenticity. I care about comfort food and, fortunately for me, Brothers serves heaping portions of that. I normally order the sandwich special, which includes a drink and a side. Their sides range from cole slaw to mac & cheese to potato salad, but all are served in a tiny, plastic cup similar in size to a Dixie cup. When I'm dining in, I'd prefer not to have to eat out of a little cup and would suggest they just put the side-of-whatever on the plate instead. They have a nice variety of sauces - sweet, spicy (and they mean it), tangy and so on. Service has been pretty alright on all of my visits. I've had to stand at the counter for longer than seemed necessary to place an order because half of the workers were taking their breaks in the dining room and didn't get up and the other half were chatting in the back. However, once they recognized me, they were friendly and our food was to our table quickly. If you're having the kind of day that I mentioned above, but don't actually want to roll out of bed, they offer takeout. Perhaps, you could con someone else into picking it up for you. read more

I strolled into Brothers the other day to satisfy my BBQ craving... and I was totally impressed. I have not been to this location in a while but it was rockin at lunch time. I was promptly greeted by who I later found out was the actual "brother" He was super friendly and sold me on the menu item "the brother" (Imagine that) Hot link on bun freaked out with jalepenos & coleslaw. I've decided after careful deliberation that this place is the BBQ median for me in Denver. The are far worst (that cost more surprisingly) and their are a select few that do better. For some reason I seemed more into Brother's back when I lived by and frequented the original shop (on Leetsdale). I lean towards the brisket more often than not, but have also had the pork, ribs and chicken. I'd start with the pulled pork if it's your first trip. While I prefer brisket, their pork is what I think they do best. I contemplated giving four stars because I really like their beans (enough to forgive the lack of any greens or interesting sides), but this is BBQ and ultimately it comes down to the sauce and how well the meat is cooked. The meat is typically solid and I was even impressed when they recently pulled ribs for a few days because their distributor was providing racks that weren't up to par. Still there have been instances of chewy sandwiches and I'm not entirely sure what they're doing that drowns out the smokey appeal of BBQ meats. They offer multiple sauces, which I much prefer to the cop-out approach of some places that say "we couldn't decide what was best, so we mixed styles into something our own." I personally prefer their Sweet Sauce to the Original, though none of the four options on the tables qualifies as the best in Denver of its kind. It should also be worth noting that you'd think a place opened by two Brits would have better fries (chips). Still, all said, it's quick, casual and cheap when you're fixin for some quick and dirty 'que. It's centrally located and if you're an incredibly indecisive individual, the counter-person can always walk you into a non-regrettable decision. read more

I was raised by depression babies, so long ago I really lost my capacity to worry too much about prices at restaurants. However, this place is SO EXPENSIVE. I would say the quality of the ribs was passable--not more. For me to have a full meal, I have to drop somewhere in the mid-high teens before tip. -This at a place where you order at a counter and all the drinks are Pepsi products! What I ate: Beef Brisket & Fries I'm not sure where to begin ... If this is Denver's best BBQ then Denver should stop serving BBQ. I don't want to be too negative - this rating and review is strictly based on the merits of the food served. The staff were friendly and helpful. Well, except for serving me probably the worst "BBQ" I've had in years. "BBQ" is in quotes because I wouldn't consider what I ate to be BBQ - more like a beef roast loosely chopped and presented under the guise of BBQ. The measure of any good BBQ is brisket. Brisket isn't a high-end cut of beef so when it's cooked correctly then you know you're dining on a delectable treat. Of course, as a BBQ connoisseur (and I don't use that term lightly) I ordered the brisket to see what Brother's had cookin'. It didn't take long to see that the only thing cooking at this place was hype and hot air from reviewers in Denver. Sorry to say that but it wouldn't be an honest review if I didn't. The brisket was served in a pulled-pork manner. Meaning the beef was clearly pulled and chopped rather than sliced. Anyone that's ever eaten quality brisket (See Arthur Bryant's in Kansas City, MO) knows that the only reason you'd chop or "pull" brisket is because it's been "cooked" rather than "smoked". Cooking a brisket is on par with putting a roast in the oven. This IS NOT BBQ. At best this piece of meat may have found a stream or two of smoke on it's way to the oven before it was baked like any common pot roast. The second hallmark of any quality BBQ joint is it's fries. Yes, fries. Authentic BBQ is always accompanied by generous portion of house fries. Or ... baked beans, but that's for the advanced BBQ joint. I didn't try the beans at Brother's but I dare not after my last visit. Sadly, the fries at Brother's are nothing more than the standard fare you would find at any restaurant serviced by a major food distributor. Even worse ... I filled up on the fries. Never, ever, should one fill up on fries as a means to get full while eating BBQ. This may casually occurr if the fries are scum-didddly-umptious but never should it be an intentional endeavor as it was in my case. To say I was disappointed about my experience would be putting too much emphasis on my expectations going into this experience. There are certain parts of the country that really know what BBQ means and how to properly prepare it. Just in the same way there are regions that know their seafood or whatever their regions is known for. If this is Denver's best - or one of the best - BBQ joints, then my neighbors are sorely missing out on quality BBQ. One parting shot - how can you serve BBQ without offering any draft beers? Really? Not a prerequisite but kind-of a standard expectation when you sit down to eat BBQ. Turn this review into a drinking game - every time I type "BBQ" take a schwill. I like me some BBQ and Brothers does a nice job. I happen to know one of the brothers who started the local chain and he's got a real passion for BBQ. I got the pulled pork sandwhich with potato salad. The potato salad was solid, and the pulled pork was decent as well. I really liked the sauces available and the hot did give just the kick I was looking for. Service was solid and the place just "feels" like a BBQ joint. They also have live music on the patio during the summer nights (I think Thursdays?) as well as rib specials on Thursday nights. It's good to have this place in my hood. read more

I live a block from a Brother's and the best thing that I can say about it is that it always smells wonderful. The food is not that great. I find the meat is tough and the sauces are fair. I am from the South and I know good BBQ and it is not Brother's. I know that people rave about it though, those people haven't had good, true BBQ. I do like the sweet tea though but that's not too hard to mess up. My advice for great BBQ in Denver is to head to Moe's BBQ, they have killer Q and sides! read more

I enjoy the BBQ and brisket. BOTH pork and beef options are delicious. I also love the chicke, mac n cheese, potatoe salad, and bakes beans. I also reccomend their sweet and orginal sauces. The two sauces are rhe best. The spicy is ok but not all has more heat than flavor. I however dunno if I appreciate being lied to about employment here. The staff seems to be very biased. I noticed the managment is not very diverse and seems to be more under staffed up front but im not sure if it because the kitchen seems to be mostly spanish speaking and unable to communicate with customers who are majorly non spanish speaking. We used their catering service recently and while most catering services dump their food and go, leaving you to sort out the mess, Brothers had everything laid out and ready to go. The meat was warm, juicy and delicious. They even gave us all of their different sauces, plus lots of other toppings and goodies to try so each person gets to do things their way. Ordered from Grubhub, Someone in the restaurant miss read the order, and sent wrong.item. When I called, and spoke with Virgina, she had trouble understanding the problem and then finding my order even though I told her my name was Jay, she kept saying Andrew. When she figured it out, she told me she would call GrubHub and have the correct item deliver in about 15-20 minutes. At the 20 minute mark, the manager, Derious called to tell me they and grubhub decided not to send the missing item. I asked for a refund on the whole meal and he refused. Told me if I wanted to bring the food back to him he would make the refund. 1. to charge a delivery fee and not deliver -fail 2. to make agreements and not follow through -fail 3. poor customer service- fail 4. I wonder what he would have done if I had brought the food back; serve it another customer? Brother has lost me a a customer for now. read more

I have often passed by this place but not having much confidence in Denver's BBQ offerings I hadn't stop to try it until today. I was looking for a place to try close enough to the Esquire theater and decided to finally give Brothers a try. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with fries. I was happy to see that the pork was tender and not dry. While the pulled pork doesn't seem to have any sauce, they bring a tray with multiple BBQ sauces to your table and you can pick whichever one you want to add to your food. Given that I have a sweet tooth I picked the sweet BBQ sauce which was great. While this is not the best BBQ I have ever had it is a nice quick and affordable option for BBQ in Denver. read more
