My partner was really craving a bagel one day, so we decided to walk here and grab a quick bagel to go. I'll admit I was pretty skeptical as I've been disappointed by most every bagel/breakfast chain around, but I gave it a try. When we got in, the place was pretty empty in terms of people seated, but there were quite a few people in line waiting for their orders to be taken. There were only a handful of tables in the whole place, but seemed to be enough even during this weekend breakfast rush. You order in the back of the place, and everyone's lines up along the wall waiting eagerly to place their order. It took about 5 minutes for them to get to me (including 1 person cutting me!), and when it was my turn the servers were very kind to me, and helped me pick out what I wanted. I decided to go with the farmhouse bagel since I was pretty hungry at the time and wanted something that could be my breakfast and lunch. Instead of eating in the restaurant, I decided I wanted to enjoy the meal in the comfort of my home. The inside was pretty clean and not too loud, but the repeated opening and closing of the door in sub-0 temps pushed me to want some real consistent warmth. The bagel was surprisingly very good, the bread was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and the toppings were good as well. It definitely filled me up, couldn't even finish the whole bagel! Worst service I've ever had anywhere! Nobody greeted me when I entered. I saw a waitress and asked if they had any more bagels and cream cheese than was on their shelves. I could see at least one person in back, who came out to say they had more they could bring out. The waitress said I should order at the end of the counter, so I stood there, but nobody came to take my order. I unfortunately did not take any pictures but I had placed an online order for an egg, sausage & cheese breakfast sandwich and an Herby Turkey Sandwich. It was about 30 minutes until they closed to I chose to order through the app. It took me a few minutes and by the time I placed the order I was only 5 minutes from the location. I knew I would have to wait a little but and was prepared for that. When I walked in, I did not see where an online pick up area would be. When I asked the employee looked at me, asked my name and then immediately started apologizing that my order wasn't ready as they were finishing prepping another large order. I was impressed that with how busy they were and the fact it was a last minute order that they were aware that someone else may have found it to be an inconvenient wait. Shortly after that what I assumed was the manager on duty asked if they could provide me with a drink for free for my wait. I declined and did not think it necessary but the overt kindness from the entire team, with a line of people and so close to closing time was very impressive. As usual we loved the food we got, it always tastes fresh and we continue to go to Bruegger's for this reason. The location was clean and welcoming, the staff was amazing and if I lived closer I would make this my regular location to stop at. read more

Let me tell you something.....It's rare anymore for me to walk in a place and say "I wish we had one here"....BUT... I wish we had a Bruegger's here where I live and where I'm about to live. I love this place so much more than Panera without the expensive bill. We ate here at least 3 out of the 4 times while being on our trip for breakfast. I had a pastrami breakfast bagel that had pastrami, egg, and cheese on it. I also had an everything bagel with bacon scallion cream cheese. Both were extremely delicious!!!! I want a Brueggers even if I franchised my own. They seriously need to branch out more and be everywhere!!! Brueggers needs to just take over, period.....bye bye Panera!!! This is our neighborhood bagel shop and we have often had good experiences, but our most recent experience, about a week ago was something truly terrible. It started with a staff member who was obviously sick, of the three team members making the bagels, we were unfortunate enough to get the one who after greeting us, stepped back and sneezed. With zero effort to cover their mouth. Especially horrifying considering the amount of open food in the prep and bagel area. After throwing away their gloves and washing their hands, they came back to take our order and proceeded to mouth breathe during the sandwich making process. I wanted to leave right away but my husband urged me to stay. While waiting for our sandwiches, we watched the female manager pour soup out of a bag into the warmers, spilling some the contents into the coleslaw below. Total cross-contamination. In checking out, I mentioned to the manager that their staff member seemed to have a cold, and she shrugged and flippantly told me, "it happens". She then said that as long as the staffer washed their hands, it was fine. It is absolutely is not fine. Especially if the staffer is open-mouth sneezing and breathing within a foot of open food. We have seen this one store have two faces, under one manager, it is clean and the staff is courteous, under this specific manager, there seems to be chaos with boxes on the store floor and a real lack of quality control - especially in sanitation. Amazing customer service! They know me! They know the bagels I order, they know the cream cheese I order. They know I like my Caribou Fireside in the medium variety and black! I frequent this location quite a bit and with good reason. I have always looooved Brugger's Bagels, and for whatever reason the Corona Virus world we currently live in, makes them taste even better. I usually go on the weekends bright and early, between 6-7. This avoids massive groups of people, and I can get my delicious fix before I work in the morning. They do a phenomenal job taking the necessary safety precautions to protect the clientele from getting infected. There are arrows in the entry way guiding you were to go, with each arrow separated by 6 feet. All employees are wearing masks. I am always happily greeted and I feel like they see me coming from a mile away! The bagels are always fresh, cooked perfectly by the older gentleman, (even he greets me) warm, with the perfect amount of crispiness. Never toasted, its not needed when you arrive as early as I do! lol. Interesting tidbit - I have been going to this location since I was a child with my father. Back in that day I would order Rachel's Parmesan/Galic kettle chips, the purple bag, to go with my PLAIN BAGEL WITH PLAIN CREAM CHEESE. I would like to think my tastes changed ever so slightly. My dad would always order the same thing as well: everything bagel, honey mustard, lettuce, and onion. What a combination. This is another perk of Bruegger's is you have so many tasty options. With two years of COVID politics having killed so much of downtown Minneapolis, including the former 651 Nicollet Brugger's, this location's very existence is fortunate. That is if you don't mind crossing the river to get there. The sandwiches are rather expensive for what you get, even before the suggested tips at checkout, and are build to order. This location discourages customers from watching the sandwich being made by giving you a handwritten note of what you ordered torn off a notepad and moving you on to give it to the register attendant. This is unfortunate as my orders were constantly missing items or included inadequate amounts, like just one portion of meat instead of two for the feature sandwiches. Ordering the 'build your own' I discovered is not a good deal as you get just one meat portion. It's better to order a feature sandwich and customize it, but you should check if everything is right before leaving the store. To their credit, the manager remade my sandwich the couple times I bothered complaining. However, for the price and mistakes I would just stick to ordering simple items here. The food isn't life-changing but I enjoy their garlic and sesame bagels and the different topping/sandwich options. Where this location stands out is the service. Every time I'm in here the staff is super friendly and accommodating and the room is always spotless. And they don't act all put out when you ask for your bagel toasted "Omggg this chick wants me to toast it too?!?! Ughh more work". Yea, none of that. Every time I go to Minneapolis I stop by Bruegger's Bagels. I always get super pumped and ambitious when I order and it's not until AFTER the bagel that I realize I should have ordered something SIMPLE. The previous time I ordered an everything bagel with butter. This last time I ordered the spinach and cheese breakfast bagel. This was probably too much and I regretted it after wards. It wasn't bad at all, just needed to stick to simple rather than complex (my own fault not theirs). Their coffee is decent, they have free wi-fi and bathrooms in the back. Unfortunately, our experience at Brueggar's bagels wasn't the best. Staff seemed very uninterested and relatively confused in general. Menu was very cooperate feeling and unauthentic, the whole place gave off the feeling of a Panera bread more than anything. Coffee wasn't good either, and bagels ran extremely small for the price. Smoked salmon wasn't bad tasting, and the cream cheese flavor list was quite extensive. Brueggers in general has pretty basic bagels and they run kind of small. However, I like this location because it's close to my apartment and always has available parking in the morning if I want to run in to grab something quick. Every time I bring bagels into work, I try to grab them on Wednesdays because they have a cheap deal for bagels and cream cheese--i also let the guys behind the counter pick the flavors because it's like playing Russian roulette but with bagels LOL. You never know if they end up picking the honey oat wheat bagel that inevitably gets left at the bottom of the bag. Overall, this place is OK but the staff members are cool. read more

He acts like he's just miserable and it's a hassle to take your order. Parking is metered but generally ample. To go to the bathroom, gotta get a key and go into the hallway. The last few times I had a coupon and the manager, while checking me out, has said some really patronizing and overly sarcastic and rude things about the fact that I was using a coupon.
