Homeboy Spot was in town from Libby and wanted to take me to brunch. We settled on Brunch House, both BHvirgins prior to today. From the moment we walked in the door Vanessa treated us like kings -- very attentive to our needs. Food was quite delicious, atmosphere calm and cool, Vanessa appearing out of nowhere anytime we needed anything, or even just to check up on us. Food is mid but when you consider the price it aint even worth it. I got the omelette with chicken in it and the chicken was dry unflavored and flaky, reminded me of prepackaged shredded chicken heated up in the microwave. Was gonna get pancakes but was told that they are mid too so I skipped it. Especially when they told me they didn't carry any glass of milk either. First time for me going to a brunch place and they don't have milk, and I go to many brunch places. Sitting there for long gives you a headache because of how loud the music is. Let me start off by saying our server was GREAT, But I & some friends went here on they so-called Brunch. Let me tell you I'm never the one to write a review but I had to. I ordered the grits and salmon bites, the salmon was the size of a dollar size coin or smaller. They give you "VERY SMALL PORTIONS of everything" My friend ordered a hookah WHEN WE FIRST GOT THERE, but they didn't bring it to us until we were about finished with our food and ready to go. Great place to visit. Service wasn't great took me 30 mins to get coffee and which had grounds in it. The mix drink was giving to quicker then the coffee which I ordered 15 minutes after. The Grits were too peppery. The chicken and waffles was good but don't advertise as chicken breast if they are tender. Will give it another chance one day. read more

Not that impressed. I think I'm over these trendy breakfast places where there music--live DJ--is so loud you can't hold a conversation. I ordered the French toast sandwich and if I'd known the cheese was a slice of American cheese I would've said no cheese. Suggestion: shred the cheese and mix it on with the egg. I could only eat one slice of the bread with syrup because I can't stand the shitty cheese slices. Another suggestion: real maple syrup. That thick, fake, fructose corn syrup shit doesn't go over well. I thought it was interesting when the "customer service" guy came over to see how we were doing and when we told him about the commercial syrup, he said "We pride ourselves on authenticity". LONG REVIEW ALERT Let me first start off saying our waitress was decent considering it was her first day on the job, but everything after that was disappointing. The food was okay at its best. I had wings and waffles. My waffles were not hot by the time I received them and were not flavorful. I'm sure they cooked the waffles first and had them sitting until the chicken was cooked. My husband ordered the All American with a side of grits and sausage. Other people who came in after us and ordered received their food first. When they did bring out the food, they brought out just mine and my husband's side of sausage, but not the rest of his food until 8 minutes later. By the time he got the rest of his food, the sausages were cold, but he didn't send them back. When he tried the grits he said they were horrible and had a funny taste. When the waitress came back around he told her the grits didn't taste right and asked what kind they were and that's when she said they were citrus grits. We told her we didn't ask for that and the menu said white grits, she apologized and said that she would get the white grits. When she came back, she said they were not making those grits today only citrus grits. She did take them off the bill. The final straw was when the owner stopped at the other table to greet the Asian family and ask about their food and tell them he owned the ATL Wings across the parking lot and walked past us and the other patrons without saying a word. Considering this was our first visit and we wanted to support an African American business in our community, we were quite disappointed but not surprised. Great breakfast there with my wife. They have nice quality breakfast food and everything tastes great. The restaurant has a good interior setting and it has a nice ambiance. My greens were beyond salty, the blackberry mimosa tasted like medicine, the grits tasted salty and super buttery and I eat sugar in my grits so it threw me off. on top of all that, my receipt said 20% gratuity for a large party and it was only 2 of us. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because the vibe wasn't as lively as other brunch spots I've been to, which could've been because we went at 11am which is considered early. Wayyy too expensive for two little breakfast/appetizer items on the menu, that were mediocre. Mimosas flights were NOT good. One of them tasted like Colgate toothpaste. And another one was blue and tasted like a child's Hawaiian Punch or something. The other two were decent, at best, but we were charged an outrageous amount for the set of four little mimosas. They will also take it upon themselves to charge YOUR tip on your bill without telling you. We tipped on top of that without realizing it till later. Which is ridiculous considering how awful the experience was overall. Dirty and sticky tables. Felt like I needed a shower when I left lol. Denny's would have felt cleaner lol. Not even close to good or friendly service. The server seemed like he had better things to do when taking our order lol. I felt like saying "bruh I'm so sorry are we bothering you?!" I get the industry is hard but we were being nothing but KIND!!!!!! I really wanted to like this place. I went against the reviews and said I'll try this for myself. My husband and I walked in and were greeted instantly, they wiped out table down and brought us water instantly. That's when it started to go down hill. First of all, there is only 1 waitress. So we waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to come over and ask for our drink order. By that time we were ready to order our food. We ordered two alcoholic beverages the red velvet waffles, and the shrimp and grits. Our food comes out, and the red velvet waffles were missing the cream sauce so it was just red dyed waffles and fruit. Very bland and spongey. As we were eating our food we told the waitress that we never got our drinks and she said that the ice maker was down so they were waiting for ice. Which doesn't make any sense because there was ice in our waters. (In everyone's water for that matter). We told the waitress to cancel the drink order and the bring the check. As we were waiting the check another family who had yet to be helped walked out the restaurant, and as we were walking out another employee was ushering them back in. The employee that was at the door asked if we had a chance to eat and we said yes and left. The people and ambiance were nice, but I think they need to revisit it their business model and hire some more waitresses. Should've read the reviews first! Family decided today was finally the day to try this place, but went to Denny's instead. We couldn't even tell from the outside it was opened because they had all of the bar stools on the table tops and the bar on the entire west side of the restaurant. If you aren't serving in that area just tell people... It's lazy to leave them like that during service. The initial service was unwelcoming as we stood in the doorway waiting to be acknowledged. The server saw us, but continued to chat one of her three tables before WE finally asked if we sat ourselves. The music was way too loud, but even louder when you are sat right under the speakers. Our family is not the type to get up after being sat, but that's exactly what we did. We felt unwelcomed and disappointed to not have a part in supporting local business.
