The hostess was super sweet and I was seated quickly, which was a plus, but our server, Taylor, seemed annoyed and uninterested from the start. She only came to greet us, take our drink and food orders, and check once on the food--no water refills or check-ins while we waited. Meanwhile, other tables around us received noticeably more attention. I couldn't help but wonder if it was because we were a smaller table and she assumed the tip wouldn't be as big. When she checked on our food, my order wasn't right. I received just the catfish without the grits that were supposed to come with it. When the grits finally came, it was the tiniest portion, especially compared to my friend's salmon and grits, which was generously served and well-seasoned. Mine looked hastily plated and lacked flavor. To top it off, I overheard a few comments like, "This is home-cooked food, not fast food, so it'll take a while." I get that, and I respect the concept--but as someone who's worked in the industry for years, it felt more like poor planning than a dedication to quality. I loved seeing all the beautiful black people, whether it was the staff or customers. I've had grits many times elsewhere and this by far has been the best I've ever had in my entire life. The grits had the right of flavors, salted and buttered to perfection! Orgasm in my mouth with each bite. I couldn't get enough. My hats to the chef and his staff. I am definitely coming back, ALOT. We got on the waitlist so there was little wait time. One of the managers was walking around greeting everyone and he offered us water and tea while we were waiting. We were seated and ordered food and drinks right away. It was a little bit of a wait on some of the food but the place was busy and we were entertained. We tried a little bit of everything. We had a couple of the grits dishes, chicken and waffles, banana fosters French toast, and sliders. The food is really good. The drinks are a little small for the price but they were good. Went here on a Saturday. Had a reservation so we were sat immediately. We sat down at 1pm. We were able to order drinks by 1:15. We received drinks 37 minutes later. A liquirita and a mimosa flight. We ordered food by 1:30 and received food at 3:05 pm. Everyone received their food except me. They then started to bring the table next to us their food. I asked the server and apparently my food had been given to someone else. They rushed me another order of chicken and waffles to only bring me the wrong kind of waffles. ****Don't waste your time****Went here for my birthday brunch and sorry I did. The food is overpriced and horrible. The only think nice was the ambiance. I ordered the chicken & Belgium waffle. For $20.99 you get two wings and one chewy cold waffle. Not worth the price. When I mentioned it to the waitress she said it's supposed to be that way. I've had Belgium waffles before and they are not cold & chewy! My nephew ordered the biscuits & gravy and the biscuits were hard as a rock and no seasoning. We also ordered county potatoes and they were just regular potatoes- most "country" potatoes have onions or something else with them. The host and wait staff were decent. However, you should never wipe down a table and then use the same towel to wipe the seat. I will never visit this place again and wish I would've read the reviews before selecting this place for my birthday brunch. Also the salsa was kind of lacking. I asked one waitress for extra salsa - she never came back. I flagged down our server - because she didn't check back on us - and told her that the $18 chilaquiles we're not how they were described on the menu. Living in South Phoenix we are the red headed step children of the food venues. When Brunch House was working in opening I was excited to see this place. I waited a month after they opened to check this place out. When I walked up I should have known something was up when the popo car was parked in front of the building. Then I noticed a security guard inside too. This was in a Saturday morning 10ish. The music was so loud we couldn't hear the waitress and she could t hear us. The food, it's pricey no lie and it's not very good. My bacon was burnt, my greens weren't cooked all the way and too much vinegar. My grits weren't creamy they were lumpy. I would have sent the food back if the waitress had come over and checked on us. No one at the table lined the food. I gave the place another try. Music not as loins but still loud, the food was just as bad. Biscuits and Gravy cost $16 The gravy was plain, had no seasoning my friend has the the Ole G. Omelette no seasoning the grits weren't creamy and had no flavor. The waitress only came to our table 3 times, to take our order, to bring refills and our bill. "EVERYONE is getting charged gratuity and its stated on the menu and walked off." This was false because it was not. Posted on a menu or anywhere. Their main menu states gratuity is for parties of 6 or more which applies to most places do. They were handing out a different menu cut out on a half sheet of paper which also was NOT stated. We then were told "well its 'bikers weekend' so we are charging extra' this left an extremely bad taste in my mouth because so if i dined in solo i was still obligated to pay more because an event?? And while money is not an issue its the way they went about it this should have been posted somewhere or waitress should simply let patrons know once sat because its an event weekend they will be over charging people so ppl are aware. Idk if this is AZ state laws that restaurants can do this but if been to several places during events and have not had this experience. This place is pretty busy and rowdy so I think most ppl dont pay attention to the receipts or ask questions so i would highly advise you todo so if you chose to dine in and dont expect great customer service. My friends and I found this spot on Intagram and decided to try it out for one of our friends Bday. We were a group of 8. Parking was easy as it is located in a shopping plaza. It is quite a busy place so reservations are recommended. One thing to note, there is time limit once your food hits the table. I ordered the Cajun salmon and grits which I was very happy about my choice. I cleaned my plate so I had no complaints. The grits were good and creamy and well seasoned along with the salmon which was fried and also seasoned well. I would definitely order it again. Visiting family and we were excited to have something open near their home! We were lucky to sit at the bar, everyone seemed to be having a good time. There was a DJ, big TVs. Servers were really kind and on top of it. Bartenders were awesome. The food was good! Quality ingredients. Our pancakes were supposed to have fruit but didn't come with it. The issue here is time. We were there for almost 2 hours. Do not go if you have a time limit. They need to work on steam lining their kitchen operation. I think the kitchen did a great job preparing but breakfast food isn't complex and really shouldn't take more than 20 min to get in and out. All of our food came out one at a time too. We tried Brunch house on a suggestion and disappointing is one of the many words I would use to describe our experience. We were seated quickly as the restaurant was not busy and someone dropped water off quickly. That is where the good service stopped. One waiter, also "management," was the lone server. He arrived and simply asked if we were ready. We ordered food and maybe there was an overzealous cook in the back because everything we ordered was overcooked and lacked seasoning. The lamb chop was juicy but well done, the chicken fried lobster was overcooked and cooked some more, the red velvet waffles were dense and tough, the collard greens were Smokey but lacked seasoning. However the red cream soda was a bright shining star in our visit. A star that was shot down by no refills offered, dirty silverware provided, no side plates delivered with the appetizer, no knives provided to cut the proteins. The music was way too loud for a half empty restaurant on Friday afternoon. After sitting at the table for 5+ minutes after our soiled plates were removed, the server came over and cashed us out. In doing so he read off our order and provided the total. We didn't see the receipt until after we paid and a receipt was provided digitally. On the receipt it shows a 20% auto-gratuity was added to our table of three. In the way out the hostess stated they add gratuity on the weekends. However that is not mentioned on the menu or stated by the server/manager. There are too many options in AZ that have honesty in billing and great service to waste your time at this location. read more

Bae ordered the steak and eggs. Excellent portions. Steak was juicy and seasoned perfectly. Collard greens were over cooked and not my favorite, but the other food was enough for me anyway. All in all, that food was BOMB. We were there for 3 hours. That's a little long. But I'm sure wait times will improve.
