We certainly had a great time. Food, good but not great. The gumbo was over salted and so was the crab boil. The hush puppies were so yummy with the provided remoulaude. Whoever put in the Cajun seasoning was heavy handed. I let them know but the rest of my party was pretty hungry so I let them have it. They thought it was salty also but they just asked for regular drawn butter to try to eke out the salt. For dessert we got key lime pie and strawberry shortcake. Key lime needs more key lime. I had dinner here with a few colleagues while wrapping up a work trip. We were seated quickly and our drink orders were taken. I was excited to try a new boba lemonade they had on the menu. It also came in a very adorable reusable cup so even better and justifying the price (I knew I wouldn't be getting a refill lol). The boba lemonade was delicious. I almost always order the fried shrimp when I come here, but in the spirit of eating a bit cleaner this day, I ordered the salmon and shrimp with a side of broccoli and white rice. Dan's Drunken shrimp special looked great, but somehow was missing flavor and was actually a bit cold. The jambalaya was hearty and good. So glad we were able to stop at this location when we were at Universal City Walk. It wasn't busy they were able to seat us down. The waiter recommended the stuff shrimp and yes there's crab. Hubby got that and he said he would go back and order that again I got the new orlean and replace the rice for pasta. It was delicious. Can't wait for our trip back when we visit Florida again. This is a great option if you need somewhere to rest and refuel after a busy day in the parks. We stopped in here after such a day, and it felt great to sit down in a cheerful, nostalgic atmosphere with good food! Excellent restaurant. We have been to the NYC location, and it was almost identical to the experience. The waitress asked some questions about the Forest Gump movie while we ate. This place has a theme based on Tom Hanks' movie "Forest Gump"; it has been so long since I saw the movie. They have nice selection of fresh seafood and even I ordered steak there, it was cooked to perfection. We got seated right away, after showing I had a VIP seating pass from the resort we were staying at, so no complaint there. That pass also gives us free chicken nuggets. We ordered fish & chips and another steak-and-shrimp dinner. I would definitely return if I revisit Universal CityWalk. Came here during our visit to the theme parks. The menu was actually a pretty decent variety of items. I ordered the Mahi & shrimp plate but found it very bland and lacking in flavor. Definitely was missing something. The kids burger was a veryyy thin patty, and tastes like Burger King. Now, I like BK, but I expected more from a place charging these prices. Hubby liked his food which was the salmon. My daughter did. It care for her Jambalaya. Don't bother ordering the garlic toast appetizer. Way overpriced for what you're getting. The only saving factor was the dessert. The chocolate chip skillet cookie was delicious. Service was good, and I loveddd this thing they have where you flip a sign from green to red when you need something. I flipped that sign and someone INSTANTLY came to help. They also all work as a team, so you can ask any server you see for help. Theming was adorable. Not fancy at all, but extremely Forest Gumo themed. Cute. Prices were exorbitant. I can't believe I'm giving this five stars, but I am! This meal was surprisingly good and unique! The Mahi was cooked to perfection. The texture was great. Overall the portion was actually a good size. Not featured, but I ordered the New Orleans sauce that usually comes on top of the meal, on the side, and I ended up ordering several sides of the sauce it was so good lol. There's a slight sweetness to it, but it's also a little buttery and in general brings the entire dish together. Our server, though I can't remember her name was pretty good. She was kind enough to bring me different sauces to try with my meal to figure out which one I liked most and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. If I could rate 3.5 stars I would. We came here after a long day of fun at Universal. Given that it isn't a busy season, we didn't have a wait for a table of 5. Seats are pretty spacious and had good selection of food for it being a chain restaurant. Our servers Erica and one who I didn't catch the name of, were phenomenal. They knew when we needed drinks refilled and came by just the right amount of times for us to feel taken care of. Now, for the reason of my star deduction: the food. I was not able to capture photos of everyone's food but I will recap. For the table we got Calamari, friend 1 got Shrimp Mac n Cheese and Broccoli and a Long Island Cocktail, friend 2 got the Stuffed Shrimp, friend 3&4 got the Ribeye and Shrimp, and lastly I got the Jambalaya. Friend one mentioned that the Mac n Cheese was phenomenal. Our server mentioned it was made fresh in house with is great. Broccoli was also well cooked although very inconsistent and not cut up very well. The Long Island was more sour mix than the alcohol. Not necessarily a bad thing if you like your drinks that way but definitely was not strong. Friend two also liked her food. The shrimp was stuffed with crab meat and topped with lobster butter. It came with 6 pieces and was filling. Friend 3&4 had issues with their steaks. They ordered it medium rare but got it medium well. Management was very quick to rectify the situation so it was resolved and they enjoyed their meal. I will notate that the steak was thin. So don't expect steakhouse level steak. For my Jambalaya, flavor was good. Had the right amount of kick. My critique was I asked for the shrimp on the side as I can't eat many shellfish - which was done HOWEVER, they omitted the ham and the sausage from my meal. I also let the waitress know which she also rectified. Overall, an okay experience. If I'm around universal and hungry for shrimp I would give them another shot, but definitely take these reviews with a grain of salt because they are located in Citywalk where they get their traffic from tourists. read more

Beware vegans and vegetarians of this place! I would normally not eat at a seafood place like this, but we were with a group of friends and they all like seafood, so I was hoping they would have something on the menu that I could eat. When the waiter said they could do something off the menu, I was hopeful. I ordered the veggie pasta he recommended with a side salad. Well, the pasta was very al dente - I would say undercooked. And the broccoli that they had thrown in was almost raw and in big chunks. I had a hard time trying to make smaller pieces with the dull knife they had provided. The only other ingredient was bell pepper, they were okay but the chunks too large as well. Even with a spoon it was a difficult eat and quite greasy. When the bill came it said Zoodle Shrimp Scampi - it turned out they had taken a menu item and just left the shrimp scampi out and charged me full price. When we said something about that the server got the manager and we were given $7 off the $19,99 price for that dish. They should have thought about that in the first place plus it wasn't an off the menu item after all... The salad was pretty much the worst I have had, it came with a raspberry dressing that looked toxic being overly red. My husband ordered shrimp that were lukewarm, flavor was okay he said but getting only shrimp and rice for 24 dollars he had expected a bit of a fancier dish. We were both hoarse after dinner from having to speak up loud so we could all hear each other, that's what the atmosphere is like in the place. Lots of noise. Decorations, however, were nice. They do have a selection of crafted cocktails as well as bottled beers available. We had an order of the appetizer sampler which included the spinach dip, hush puppies, fried shrimp, and chicken strips. The food was OK. I opted for the shrimps heaven that included fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, and tempura shrimp. I love tempura shrimp, but was disappointed in this as it is 100% almost all batter versus the actual shrimp. The coconut shrimp was tasty, but the fried part kept falling off of the shrimp. The fries definitely tasted old like they've been sitting there for a while. While the food was average for us, we did have a great server. When she came back to check in on us later on, she actually stopped and chatted and asked us a series of questions about the movie, Forrest Gump. We love going to Bubba Gumps. Our favorite one is in Monterey California. Three years ago we moved to Florida and found out there was a Bubba Gumps in Orlando, but chose not to go because of parking fees. The Orlando location is located at Universal Studios City Walk. You have to pay for parking just to go to City Walk. Which means if you want to visit Bubba Gumps you will pay over $30 to park before you order a drink or shrimp. Three years we finally decided to go because parking is FREE after 6 pm. This was our 21st Anniversary and we wanted to go to Bubbas. May I say this may be one of thee BEST first visits we have ever had. In the middle of a Florida downpour...we got in and seated in around 5 minutes. Our appetizer came out between 5-10 minutes and our main course just as fast and was fresh and plenty warm and delicious. Our service was just as amazing. They work in teams and the two bartenders worked amazingly together. This was an amazing experience and I am sure my wife and I will visit this Bubba Gumps again. The restaurant had great decor from the movie. Pictures, quotes and even playing the movie while you eat. The staff all wearing Bubba Gump clothing.
