12/6: UPDATE: we made the special trip and it was not worth it. We ordered two pizzas and didn't even finish one because it wasn't good. The arugula pizza was soaked with balsamic. The crust was so hard we could barely cut the slices in half. The pizza didn't taste fresh either. The pickles were good but very greasy. Our waitresses weren't very attentive either. We all left not feeling great. Hopefully we just got a bad order... 10/31: AMAZING! This place was more sports bar, less nice-sit-down restaurant than I thought but wow it exceeded our expectations. It was relatively full, they played the Baylor game and had NFL on. They were incredibly accommodating with my food allergies (pics are bad but I got Cali chicken no cheese sub grilled pineapple - bless the lamb this is the best combo). The pizza was one of the best my mom has ever had. The crust is thin, and she recommends the goat cheese arugula because it tasted super fresh. Get the side salad with the shoestring potatoes for sure. Manager came over to thank us on our way out since it was our first time, our waiter and trainee were so friendly and communicative as well. I love my chicken fried steak and potatoes. The chicken was moist and the batter wasn't too salty. The mashed potatoes had a nice flavor and texture. A star was taken away for the fish and chips. It was way too greasy and awkward to eat such a large piece of fish. The service was good and the ambience was nice...kind of a sports bar feel w/a lot of tvs to show different games. This place is hopping! The food was excellent. It was quite busy when we arrived so we sat at the bar. I ordered the big salad, my sister ordered the chicken salad, and my daughter-in-law ordered the fish and chips. Everything came out fresh and delicious. The potato straws on top of the salads made for a spectacular crunch. I will definitely eat here again. The staff was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Overall, I'd recommend eating here! The burgers were great and had double patties! Be sure to order extra Bubba's sauce on the side if you like your burgers extra saucy. Their fries, onion rings, and fried pickles were delicious, but be aware they are SALTY. I dipped the fried pickles in Bubba's sauce which I thought made them better. The only complaint I would have is that we ordered takeout and when we got to the restaurant we texted the takeout number and they said our order wasn't ready yet. I was hoping this would mean that our food was going to be fresh and hot when they brought it out. However, when we received the food it was lukewarm as if it had been sitting for a while. read more

Went to Waco for the eclipse. I'd been to Bubba's before, but not this location. I had my teenage son with me, as this was a special trip. The food was good, though the Salmon portion was pretty small. My son had the chicken and shrimp combo and seemed to enjoy it. He gulped down 3-4 strawberry lemonades. This place has a little bit of everything on the menu for anybody. The TVs in this place are ridiculous. I'm pretty sure there are more TVs than tables. We tried the pizza and it was fabulous. I also tried the sunshine burger and is one of the best I've had recently. They also have a lot of mixed drinks on the menu as well. My husband and I went to Bubbas for dinner and had a great experience. The staff was so welcoming and friendly from the hostess to the bartenders to the manager. We decided to eat at the bar and were so glad we did. Jeffrey and Miranda took great care of us. We had a few modifications on our order and they made sure everything was prepared as requested. The manager, Gabby, checked on us (and everyone else at the bar) to see how our food was and if we needed anything. It was obvious the staff enjoyed working together as anyone was cheerful which made the atmosphere inviting and fun. We will definitely be going back for more meals. Since I wasn't terribly hungry, they recommended a child's pizza. I wasn't blown away by the food, but it was fine. I went to Bubba's 33 with my granddaughter today (Sunday) about 3 pm. There was a crowd. The crowd was too young and preppy for me. But 20 years ago it would have been my hangout! I had salmon over a bed of rice and mashed potatoes, My granddaughter had a steak, loaded potatoes and steamed broccoli. The food was delicious, seasoned properly and hot. Very impressed to be honest. I ordered the grill chicken dinner and it did not disappoints I was shocked at how good it was. The pico was very flavorful. Grilled Chicken salad portion was sufficient however was uncooked toward the end of my meal noted it was uncooked properly, gave it only 3 stars due to this. Had the girls Little League Softball World Series on with Texas (Waco) vs North Carolina, the place was going crazy like in was the MLB World Series. So loud and crazy but alot of fun. The Sunshine Burger is definitely one of best top 5 burgers that I have had, cooked the way requested medium, with alot of bacon, lettuce, tomato and of course the fried egg prepared the way requested, not runny. I have been twice now. I ordered the same thing twice as I like spicy items. The second time my wife was with me and both times I was with my parents. The onion rings here are the bomb. They are truly special. I have had many onion rings in my life and these are truly among the best I have ever had. Both times I got the habanero burger. The habanero is in this fried cream cheese on top of the burger. At first I didn't know what that little fried packet was on top but when you pop it the spicy cream cheese covers the burger. The party is really good quality beef. You get fries w it but can upgrade w onion rings which I recommend. There are diced grilled onions and jalapeños under the patty. I choose to eat this burger w a fork. Last time we got the onion ring appetizer full order and it was a great appetizer for the four of us. My wife got the shrimp basket and chose tater tots and coleslaw as sides. She loved her meal but said the cocktail sauce was a bit spicy and so she chose ketchup. She doesn't tolerate spice very well. The place is good but a bit noisy and one can easily get distracted by the many televisions etc. I think it is a great place but I wouldn't recommend it if you needed to go over real important stuff like paperwork or intimate conversation as it is a bit loud. We went at 4 and it was a bit less loud. If you get a sandwich they offer for a small price to sub a side salad for the fries. I have my eye on trying the buffalo chicken sandwich. I recommend you try this place out I doubt you will be disappointed. read more

Big ol' thick burger that will leave even the biggest appetite satisfied. My 6' 4" freshman had a challenge taking it down. We did onion rings and fried pickles as well. Both good though I prefer a pickle with a lot more "pickling" in the middle. As a rookie to the joint we received a coupon for a free appetizer next visit. You know we'll be back for that!
