I have heard many great things about this place so when I was on that side of town I stopped in with my fiance and another couple. This was my first time here however I had made myself familiar with the menu and items online. I have been to olive garden, Maggianos, fine family Italian places as well as fazoles, cici's pizza for pasta places as such too. I was so excited we ordered the seafood special with clams, mussles, shrimp in a robust Tomato sauce over linguine for us, and calamari. The descriptions of the food were as fake as could be! The pasta was undercooked and the sauce was bland like as if someone went to buy canned sauce from Walmart brand not even ragu or prego those would have tasted better, the shrimp had an off taste, the mussels were great but I wanted more then mussels for dinner, the calamari was such a small portion for two it didn't even match the platter in the menu it was to be brought out on. We waited 2 hrs just to get our fried calamari and drinks, we had 2 refills in the almost three full hours we were here. So when the food arrived being as hungry as we were you would think it would taste amazing either way. WRONG we ate a few bites and took it to go. We stopped at fazoles and ate there and we're shocked fast food tasted better then what had been served. We contacted the manager and told them of our waitress and food and asked for a refund. It took week but they gave a full refund and option to come back that we passed on. The interior was very cool but the carpet was old, torn and dirty, the walkway where the carpet ends and the tile to where the restrooms begins was sticky very gross to walk on. I was deffinately shocked that a place renown for this type of food was that bad. Based on this sole experience and location i will not try another location or even bother to explain to other people. When people ask me i say I have been, it's different and at your own risk of adventure try if you like, but I don't recommend when there are many more places a better value for your money, time , and atmosphere. read more

If I could rate a 0 I would. I placed a pre-paid online order before 10AM for 6pM pick up. When we arrived at 6 we waited for over 20 minutes to then be told they can't tell me when our food will ready. They could care less if they over booked and can't fill the orders. Very nasty customer service over phone. Now have waited 45 minutes beyond pickup time and still no food or any updates. read more

What has happened to Buca? Just experienced the worst service ever. Slow to take our order and slower service. It may have been our server, but no one else that worked there seemed to care even though other servers saw and actually helped us. And by help, it wasn't like we were asking for much.... it's just nice to have silverware with our salads! We were a party of 10 with a bill over $450. The server took our leftovers and said he would box it up. Only one package came back and the server said someone in the kitchen threw away the other leftovers. He said they were recooking one of the meals. We asked about the third, and after he disagreed with us that he even took the dish, he said he would have them make that too. When we told him we didn't want to wait, he never offered an apology, or to get the manager, or to get us a refund of any kind. We had already been at the table for almost 3 hours and were just ready to leave. And so here's your tip Dustin @ Greenwood Buca, you might consider another field of work where you don't need people skills, follow up skills, and common sense. read more

The food here was not your typical plates of food. Everything is served up as family style dining. You better hope that your party can all decide on the same thing to eat. If not, then order the small size in everything ya get because it will be plenty of food. If you have left overs then its a good thing because you get to have this amazing food twice. I am not a fan of the decor of the restaurant, it needs to be updated. This Italian cuisine was very delicious and I wish that our food would have came with some garlic bread. That cost extra and we were celebrating 4 birthdays in our family which they dont offer a birthday desert. read more

We went because we had a coupon and we seen a Margherita pizza on the menu, we waited 20 min for a booth witch we told the hostess, they tried seating us at a table witch we declined and had to restand again in the waiting room, Jenn or Jan was her name and horrible hostess, after seated the place is Great and packed, food is overly priced and for what we got a pizza with 6 slices is not worth 18.00 and we ordered a strawberry dessert that looked nothing like the pic on the menu, my server was super nice but spilt my drink on my glasses and my coupon. all in all for the price and the service we won't return! read more

First time at this restaurant and we loved it! The pictures on the wall were funny conversation pieces and the family style dining and atmosphere was perfect for our family! We went to celebrate my mom's and my birthday. The staff was friendly and helpful and our waiter, Christian, was super nice as well! Not to mention the DELICIOUS food! If you are at all worried about COVID-19, I would not go here. We called ahead for Father's Day to ask about their modifications, and were told everyone was being seated at least six feet apart and that all staff would be wearing masks and gloves. Wrong. Our server had a mask over his chin with his mouth and nose exposed the entire time, and we didn't see a single staff member with gloves on. We were also uncomfortably close to the party next to us. We have been here many times and everything is usually just OK. But tonight service was great. Imani was on top of taking care of us as well as her other tables. My wife drinks water like a fish and she kept her glass full. What was amazing was the food! We had the Apple walnut salad and chicken cannelloni, both were outstanding. Worst experience! Start with the staff attitude, then due to a power outage we couldn't get what ordered. (not their fault) They did tell us what we could order, so we settled for that. But what they served us was cold spaghetti for $130.00. I was upset and contacted their customer service via email. I was contacted by DAVID GOTTI, Divisional Vice President. He asked several questions, so he could look into the issues. I have since sent him 3 emails that he's not responding to. Don't wast your time money, or ruin another birthday party at this place. We went here for the first time in years. We had the mozzarella caprese, apple Gorgonzola salad, chicken saltimbocca, and a shrimp languini dish (franciase?). I've always loved going to Bucca di Beppo. It has an awesome atmosphere, it's great for large parties and for families, and it's not that bad in pricing. However on my last visit to the greenwood location I was not impressed with the food. It came out timely but still pretty cold, which is concerning. Our server was really nice and the restaurant was in great shape but cold Italian food doesn't exactly make me was to run back for another dinner. I would have complained in the restaurant but it wasn't like we waited forever for the food so I felt bad giving it back to the waitress. I hadn't been in awhile so it was kind of sad having such a bad experience. I did use to go to the downtown one, I just figured they'd be similar in quality. read more

Last night we had the best waitress ever. I believe her name was Christian but I'm so sorry if it wasn't. We really had the greatest service. My daughter was fine up until we walked inside. Suddenly she began freaking out and would only be okay if I held her. First we were sat in a terrible spot where the table next to us was basically hitting elbows with us. All the congestion was making my 14 month old more agitated. So we asked to move. They obliged thank god. But my daughter wouldn't calm down. Then before you know it, the waitress brought out ice cream, oranges and apples for my daughter. She said she had an 11 month old so she totally understood. I could've cried at the gesture! So sweet and so above and beyond. She didn't even charge us for it. I of course was not prepared because my kid had been snacking on normal food up until we got inside. She saved our whole dinner. She saved the night. And based on the unhappy guests at tables around us, she saved their dinners as well. I thought I was going to have to leave. She was an angel in disguise. Please tell her how awesome we really think she is. I encouraged the table (as we were out celebrating so my meal was being bought) to tip her more than they normally would and I hope they did. I made sure to go out of my way to tell her goodbye and thank her. She's the best. Also, the chicken Marsala was amazing. Only sad fact was I thought an Italian restaurant would make their own limoncello :-( what we had was from a bottle you can get at the liquor store and most definitely not authentic. read more

Had another good meal w the family. I had the salad, garlic bread and chicken parmigiana. Chicken parmigiana is always one of my favorites. The garlic bread was especially good tonight. Wife and daughter also had manicotti. Would have given 5 stars but manicotti came out 6-8 minutes before the chicken parmigiana so awkward time for some eating while others waited Took the family to celebrate my wife's bday. We love everything about this place. You have the option to create your own pasta with your own sauce, vegetables, etc. You also can order small (feeds 3 people) or large, (feeds 5 people) It's best to order different items so each one at your table can share in each dish. Short and simple review. Had family dinner here a couple nights ago and it was great! Lasagna as our entree and fried mozzarella as our appetizer. Food was great and the service was even better. We were there on a crowded Friday evening, but our waitress came around often to ensure we were doing okay. The food also came out rather quickly which is always a big plus. I decided to come here for dinner with a friend, and it was our first time trying this restaurant. The meals are family style, so come hungry or take home lots of leftovers. We decided to get a pasta sampler, and a pizza. The food was great, we were happy with it. However the service was lacking. Our waitress was not very attentive, and very slow. We sat for 15 mins waiting for a bill. We wanted boxes to take home the leftovers, and the waitress didn't bother to ask how we wanted the food divided up. Instead she took it upon herself to mix all the pasta in one box, then put the pizza in another box, folding the pizza like a taco. It was very disappointing to see her fold a pizza like this, as she ruined the toppings and we were left with a crust and all the toppings to fall off. Overall the food was pretty good, but the waitress didn't communicate well, and ended up ruining our leftovers. read more

If you don't know what you're getting in to, this is an anxiety inducing experience. You can't just order a one person meal. So if you're in a group, you're all going to need to decide on the same thing to eat. Also, the portions are ridiculously huge. Don't take the recommendation of how many it serves lightly, if it says it feeds 5, it's probably gonna feed 6. As for the overall taste, the antipasti salad was delicious, the lasagna was a pretty standard and good dish, the fettuccine Alfredo was extremely lackluster, the penne alla vodka was also not super flavorful, and the bread was nothing special either. For the price, I expected a little more. But if you're entire group is looking to eat a ton of the exact same thing, this is perfect! read more

Went here for the first time for my cousins birthday dinner. It was a little pricey for my dinner. But they give you a lot of food. The desert Tiramisu was wonderful. I wouldn't mine going back again. I understand the wall switch in the women's bathroom if very unique. The service was really great as well. Mo was our server and her expertise made this experience grand. We had family from all over the country together for a birthday, and she doted on each us like no one else was there. We came with coupons in hand and she found a way to follow protocol and allow us to use the coupons. The kids were able to order exactly what they wanted and were stoked they could drink root beer (not in a bottle) without all the additional charges. I have not been impressed with Buca the last 2 times I have been there. The portion sizes are great for engaging in family style dining, but the over-all food quality is less than desirable. In my most recent visit we ordered caesar salad (always delicious - and vegetarian friendly. They do not put anchovies in their dressing.) Cheese bread and spaghetti with meatballs, an Italian classic that turned out to be rather disappointing. I have had better spaghetti from Fazoli's. My noodles were swimming in grease and there just wasn't much flavor and spices; very bland. The previous time I visited my boyfriend and I ordered the Chicken Basilica and was not impressed. The wait staff was great, but the chicken in the penne was gamey. I am disappointed - over the years I feel that their quality of food has gone downhill. read more

This was our last time dining at Buca di Beppo's. We arrived for dinner on a slow Thursday night and noticed there were only four tables in the whole restaurant at 6:30. We asked for a table for 4 adults and 2 children and were escorted to the last table in the corner in the back against the wall. I was shocked and told our host we would like a round table and he agreed. My husband sat down and almost fell to the floor because the back of the chair was completely unattached and broke. Our waiter was bland and seemed like he would rather be anywhere but there. He mumbled and never smiled. He didn't bring waters until someone asked and while he was patient with the table taking their time to decide on food items he wasn't taking good notes because only half of us got our food. WE asked where our other two pasta dishes were (the men were just sitting there not eating) and our waiter told us we hadn't ordered anything else. We all disagreed and he told us it would be right up - meaning 20 minutes while half of us ate. I wished our waiter had recited back our items for clarity to avoid this problem. We were told we would be getting dessert for the our inconvenience. When we ordered dessert our waiter said - ONLY ONE DESSERT is on the house for all 6 of us. AT least they could have provided a dessert to each of the men who waited for their food. We asked if the one dessert was lemony and our waiter mumbled, "I don't know." and left. I suggested the restaurant for our guests who have never eaten at a Buca and who by the way are full blood Italian and speak it. The bill for the two of us was $93 and I kept thinking of all the choices I have in Indianapolis that I could have spent less and had more fun. read more

Buca Di Beppo is what Italian is all about. No more of the highly expensive overly generic italian joints with skimpy portions and high prices. Italian restaruants are also great but some try to play it too romantic which makes it ackward to go with a bud or the guys. The main highlight of this place is that it offers big portion family style food at very reasonable prices, good fun, tons of italian nostalgia on walls and good music. Very friendly cheery staff and excellent wait time. Food was ready in about 10 mins. VERY generous portions enough for a couple or even large families. Dont come in here expecting to get a medium sized dish.. NO my friend nothing but real authentic italian portions, the way it should be. Very nice for family dinning aswell as a fun first date or casual dinner.. Fits all occassions. My boyfriend and I ordered a large Lasagna tonight, as a to-go order, and it was sized perfect and the taste was fantastic! I really love how their amazing (imported) tomato-based layer just bursts into my mouth with so much good flavor! I think it's perfect, because it's not oily in appearance or soupy. Definitely worth the $30 every single time. I also love how the delicate taste of the four-cheese ricotta layer is so fluffy, light, and so easy to love in each bite. While the beef is the worst component with the least seasonings, I believe it's forgivable. read more

Honestly, extremely disappointed from the moment we walked in, to when we walked out. Celebrating my mother's 60th, and my parents don't get out much. We thought Buca's would be nice but not over-the-top fancy. Restaurant looked dirty (you are forced to walk through the kitchen as a part of the ambience), bathrooms need a deep cleaning/ remodel, and they were washing the kitchen floors when we were trying to leave. There was so much water on the floor (no wet floor sign) and I had to hold my mother up not to slip. Service- awful. Server, we will call her M, made it seem like we were an inconvenience the entire time. While taking our drink order, she was shouting at us because she was setting up another table for a large party. Drinks rarely got refilled, and oftentimes, there were runners serving us, not her. Fast forward toward the end of the evening, she snarkly asked, "Are we singing?" Um, yes- this was supposed to be a celebratory evening. Sorry to bother you. While trying to gather other servers to sing, she shouted (across the restaurant) "Hey, are you going to help sing- guess not. Okay." At this moment, it was so obvious she did not give one care about our experience. Food was okay- pricy for what you got. But honestly, the service was so bad, it highlighted how expensive the food was. $25 for a Caesar Salad which was wilted- my assumption, the dressing was put on it long before we got there, or they used bad lettuce to begin with. I will honestly never come back here. For $200, there are better restaurants, that are cleaner, with friendlier service, and better tasting food. Cherry on top- packed up our leftovers- 4 containers, no bag. So juggling all of that, a baby car seat, my purse, coat, etc.... Buca's was nice about 10 years ago- but it seems the quality of everything has gone way down. read more

You can't go wrong when it comes to family style Italian food. The food here is amazing and the service has always been great. The servers always try and have fun with their tables and make it an overall enjoyable experience. Depending on the time of day will determine the noise level. On this visit they were very busy and had several birthdays in the house. There was a very large group next to us so the noise level was above normal. Be prepared to eat...when the menu says the small will feed 3 they probably mean 6. While the family style is nice it's also a lot of the same but our experience was decent.
