I love Bucharest Grill - large portions, tasty food, good prices. What's there to complain about? I ordered a chicken shawarma salad for my lunch today off of Grubhub. The menu price is $11.95 but there was a minor upcharge using a delivery app. The food took FOREVER but I believe it was the fault of the driver. The salad was tasty and they were super generous with the amount of chicken. I was starving by the time it was delivered and I still couldn't come close to finishing it. I also ordered a side of toum for about $1 and it was a tasty addition. I wish they gave a bit of pita with the salad but it's so cheap that I can't blame them for not including it. The salad was fresh and the chicken was tender and cooked well. Dressing was a little underwhelming but it was still yummy despite it. Overall would absolutely order again! She called several people's numbers who came after me and then when I asked about my number she lied and said it wasn't ready. Obviously when we got our food it is was cold. The Bucharest Grill at the Livernois location has poor customer service. Tonight, August 21, I called in an order for a Chicken Shawarma Salad. The one of the female employees, who had a noticeable attitude, called my name...I said "yes" and started walking towards her. She placed my order on the counter turned and walked away. She did not say "thank you" or "enjoy your salad" nor did she confirm that that was my order. A smile does not cost anything. There was another female employee who was friendly. She called the names, waited for the customer to come up to her then she greeted the customers and confirm their order. Because of her, I changed my one star rating to a two star rating. read more

First of all I have to say this place is VERY clean, like some must be sweeping and mopping every 10 mins here because I haven't seen a place that clean during lunch hour in awhile. Anyways I ordered the Lamb Shwarma and a Fatoosh Salad and it was VERY good. Everything was crisp on the salad and the Shwarma, the onions the green peppers and the lettuce itself was all very crisp and the onions on the shwarma were also crisp for the price I thought this better be a good shwarma but when I seen the size of it I understood. This is for your Picquette location. Just friendly customer service advice. We are still not sure if Covid 19 is entirely over. It was very troubling walking into your establishment yesterday, and it was extremely filthy. More disturbing was the staff standing around talking and not making sure the store entrance was presentable. It was a spill when I entered the door where the free magazines sat. I felt like I was going to fuss like it was my house! I had to realize that I couldn't check them. Long story short & short story long....it was very untidy and unwelcoming. Bucharest Grill is probably my favorite Mediterranean food AROUND! I love that they have so many locations in and around Detroit, just wish there were more closer to me, but it's SO worth the drive. Their garlic sauce is insane. They are so generous with their portions & filling. Their pita is thin, but I love it. It's soft / soggy where juices are absorbed, but also crispy in other places, so it's wonderful. And the prices are UNBEATABLE! You get such a bang for your buck, I'm obsessed. Every time I go to Bucharest, because it's a bit of a drive and because it's so good and cheap, I normally buy at least 3 wraps (they also have a great deal for 6 I recently found out!) because they keep really well in the fridge too, so I can pop them into the toaster or microwave for a lunch or dinner in the following days to come. My favorites are the Chicken Shawarma, Bucharest Shawarma (bc they put fries in hehe, but these don't reheat as well also bc of the fries), Schnitzel Plate, and the Garlic Spread (you get so much!)! This location is along Fashion Ave along this strip you have more trendy restaurants and shop. Food- wonderfully season with that Middle Eastern spice. Food cooked fresh. I also get the chicken shawarma and a chicken shawarma salad. The dressing is a simple oil and vinegar with lot of meat. The sandwich is the same no need to order for fries because the sandwich is enough! The one this about this location is that parking can be challenging. Fast service + so much food for your $. I love the food here. Very tasty and cheap. I advise calling ahead if you're ordering takeout. There's seating available as well if you'd like to dine in. This restaurant has a casual atmosphere. Parking isn't the best. Free street parking is available, but not ideal for a quick grab and go. I highly recommend the chicken shawarma and the chicken shawarma salad. Both under $10. There's multiple convenient locations around the Detroit area. There was a time Bucharest was delicious, always fresh, and the only game in town for Mediterranean food. I went to Bucharest with a friend as I no longer pick them first because there is better food and service elsewhere for Mediterranean. My chicken shawarma was awful. The chicken was okay (nothing like before) but to couple okay chicken with lightly brown edged lettuce, soggy tomatoes (only at the bottom of the sandwich) one pickle (that was okay) and the bread was soggy from the garlic. I guess they gave me an old sandwich. I wonder how I received an old sandwich when I ordered from the car and immediately went in picked up my sandwich when they said it was done. This isn't the only Mediterranean in town anymore someone may need a reminder. I'm addition the people at the front desk aren't pleasant at all, the impression is giving they don't care about the customers or the service level. If this was based on just the taste of the shawarma and the value for the money I would have given 4 or 5 stars. These shawarmas seemed how they used to be-packed full of chicken and a great price for the size of the sandwich; they had seemed to shrink in size over the last couple years but they also raised the price from $5.50 to $7.85 so they need to be packed full. The reason for the 2 star review is that 2 of the 3 shawarmas we ordered had chicken bones in them....like a good inch or so long skinny chicken bone. Bucharest Grill has taken over Detroit with now several locations to choose from. There is seemingly one close by wherever you are in the city. The great thing about that, is not only the convenience, but rather the quality and taste remains the same at each location. The chicken shawarma wrap is the darling of the menu, with its succulent grilled bird and palette tantalizing garlic sauce. What I like most about the wrap is the juicy pickles which balance all of that good-for-you garlicky goodness. My favorite item on the menu, however, is the ribeye steak salad. It's chock full of meaty goodness, with a decent quality steak for the small price. My steak is always cooked as I order it, juicy with just the right amount of fat left on it. I know, I know...fat isn't good for folks...whatevs! The salad also has dark leafy lettuce, red onion, green bell pepper, cucumber and pita chips. It's a very filling balanced meal, and so yummy. This location has limited seating for dining in, and limited parking on the busy Avenue of Fashion on Livernois between Outer Drive amd Pembroke. There is a large waiting area with seats in the window. The young ladies who work there are aways nice and efficient. I love the concept of each of the restaurants, which allows you to see inside the busy kitchens. I don't know how they stay out of one another's space. The menu has plenty of options for everyone including beef shawarma wraps, corned beef wraps, hummus, veggie shawarma wraps, falafel wraps, burgers & sliders, stuffed peppers, and grape leaves. Bucharest: we know it, we love it... we accept the garlic breath. Bucharest was a huge staple when I was in college at Detroit Mercy, and we didn't even have this location available to us at the time. I can only imagine how great it would have been to have it right down the road! I like this location a lot - it's big, has quite a bit of seating, and the food is (of course) excellent as we've come to expect from Bucharest. My go-tos are the chicken shawarma and the falafel wrap. The chicken shawarma is obviously a staple, and it's amazing. I'll highlight the falafel a little bit: the vegetables that Bucharest puts in their falafel wrap are what make it. I don't think I've had a falafel anywhere else around here where they include fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and green peppers - and FETA?? It takes it to another level. I usually add garlic to it as well, because I would feel like I didn't truly come to Bucharest if I didn't leave with garlic on my breath. One note: sometimes service can be a little slow, so don't walk in at peak dinner time and expect your food to be done in less than 5 minutes. But I promise it's worth the wait. read more
