Dropped the kids off at school and tried out this place. My husband & I loved it. Cute 50s diner ambiance. The wait staff was so friendly & kind. You can tell they treat everyone like family. The place filled up quick!! This was the best tasting sausage gravy I've had. I got a biscuit instead of toast... highly recommended. We will be back to try more breakfast AND lunches

Cute little 50's themed family diner. I got a vegetable omelette and it hard crispy fresh veggies and the toast was perfectly toasted. I had a choice of hashbrowns, American fries, tomatoes or fruit and I ended up getting the tomato slices. my friend got a full order of biscuits and gravy and it was full of gravy and he said it was delicious too and the service was wonderful

Stopped in here a few week's ago on a weekend getaway. They were short staffed I assumed because I believe the owner waited on us and was the most friendly anyone could ask for. This is the place where locals obviously go because the owner knew everyone by name and I just love places like this. I got the Polish sausage special with potato pancakes. Damn delicious and portions were gigantic. Fiance got an omelette, same was delicious and enormous. Will be making this place my go to breakfast spot when I come back for my yearly fishing trip!!

Spicy breakfast is to die for!!! Pickle is from my wife's BLT with fried egg on it... also delish

best breakfast for miles and miles as good of service as you can expect is such a busy place... everyone there works their butt off!! get the spicy breakfast !!!!

This is definitely a hidden gem! Seriously you might actually miss the sign and drive right past this awesome establishment! It's a 50's style diner. Elvis. Betty Boop. James Dean. Classics. The awesome red diner chairs that I thought only existed in movies. Very clean. Very nice staff and everyone is a tightknit family and so many regulars come here. Very homey! My boyfriend and I came here for the first time this morning for breakfast and we were blown away! I ordered a western wrap while he had the Bucks Big Breakfast and it's definitely big! Eggs, hash browns, ham, bacon, sausage and toast. Lots of food and everything was prepared perfectly. Just how we wanted everything. I asked for slightly burnt toast and it was exactly how I asked. Weird request I know! Lots of flavor and typical diner food. Although after I ordered I saw they had peanut butter pancakes on the special board. That sounded really yummy! Our waitress was very kind and told us all about the diner and that she has worked there since it opened in 1990. I can't wait to go back. Fast service. Clean and very inexpensive. I'm not sure I've been to a place that has cost me and my boyfriend less than $15 for breakfast with drinks! Awesome place!

Good food but the French fries suck. The fries taste like they are covered in oil and nothing else and they have no salt let alone any other type of flavor to them.

    Western omelette Yum Yum

Service can be erratic and clannish. The seasoned wait staff usually go straight to the regulars or larger parties. The inexperienced wait staff get everyone else. They try hard. It can get loud in here as the open bar spills straight into the restaurant. Decor is Gar Wood nautical. Crowd is full of boaters and haggard Algonac locals...think deep wrinkles, blotchy skin, cigarette coughs, and the exchanging of muskrat recipes.

That's how I'd describe Catch 22. This does not look like a cutting edge restaurant. It looks like the kind of restaurant your parents ate at in the 80s (and the kind I ate at in the 80s). That's not totally fair, because it does have a nautical charm that represents the community. But, of course, the food is what matters most. It starts right away with freshly baked bread (how many places since the 80s do that anymore?). It was served with a sweet butter, but they have no problem providing a regular butter. We were told the mushroom soup was good, but the waitress undersold it. It was rich and savory and flavorful, the kind of soup that makes you wish you were at home so you could lick the bowl. My wife was territorial about sharing her salmon, with good reason. This is a fishing community that prides itself on the quality of its seafood. I loved the flawless preparation of the sliver of salmon she reluctantly shared with me. I didn't mind because the ahi tuna was magical. I offered her some, but she was happy with her salmon. Her loss. I ordered it medium rare; I enjoy my tuna steak the way I enjoy my beef steak. And, this was a beautiful cut of tuna. It was encrusted in peppercorns and sesame seeds, giving it a little bite. Take that, Gordon Ramsay! I got it with a side of perfectly lumpy mashed potatoes, with robust dark gravy on the side. Combined with the tuna, it was a lot of food, but there was never any doubt I was going to eat every bit of it. I ordered a local brew, Anchor Bay Noble Mutt red ale. Not as malty as a typical red, which I enjoyed. It didn't interfere with the meal. The service was also very quick, and cheerfully rendered by our server. It's not cheap, but there's no way something that good should ever be cheap. We're already trying to figure out the next time we can come back here.
