I was weary of visiting this place because I am not the biggest "nut" person and that seems to be the biggest draw to it. The main reason I decided to visit was because I needed a drink and the line at 12 matcha (around the corner) was a bit too long. The aesthetics are metallic but not in a totally minimalist way. If someone told me that the interior of the cafe was once a set of a 1970s spaceship with some Industrial elements , I would believe them. This place came with merchandise including apparel and coffee bags and of course nut butters and all their accoutrements. The shelves were there before the register at the front of the store and also at the back where there was a self checkout option. But I came for the drinks so that is what I tried to order. A good number of their signature drinks came with peanut butter. While I am not allergic, I have a slight distaste for it. I was contemplating to go somewhere else, the lovely person at the register told me I could replace the peanut butter with the other butters they had. I was delighted and chose hazelnut due to my allegiance to Nutella and j chose to drink the Dream Buddy which was a collaboration they had with REM Beauty. The ube, vanilla bean drink was smooth and very interesting (nothing clashing to me or too overpowering). I think the cafe had something unique to offer that can definitely appeal to some. Since they had chairs and tables, it can create some fans who would do work there. I might come back to try the other recommendations and may even try the peanut butter. read more

Walked by and stumbled upon here. As soon as you walk in it smells nutty. Layout is nice. The front half is to hang out and there's a back portion where it's designated just for people with laptops. I got two cookies to try. Alittle bit too sweet to eat more than a bite. Normally I hate when a latte taste only of milk. But this time around the coffee bean flavor is light but balances well with the nut butter inside. I would come here and try another drink. But will pass on the cookies. After a couple weeks looks like there's a line now. I won't wait in line since I get impatient so maybe another day with less people. read more

The line to order moved quickly which was so appreciated because in other spots, I have waited over an hour. The matcha was delicious, you can definitely taste the peanut butter. The coffee is more mild with the peanut butter taste. I got a little pastry with hazelnut, but it was not my favorite. Texture wise, it tasted like I was eating protein powder food. I went about 5 minutes after they opened on a Sunday. There was already a line when I arrived and still a line when I left but it moved pretty quickly. All of the tables were full by the time I got my latte. I'm a little confused by all the signage and questions about nut allergies - I can't fathom why anyone with a nut allergy would ever go to this coffee shop unless they have a death wish. If you're a fan of nut butters and nuts, this is the place for you!! I heard about this European brand opening their first US store in the LES and went to check it out during their soft opening. They not only have a wide selection of different nut butters, but also a variety of drinks, both caffeinated and not! I got the iced dream buddy and enjoyed how the nut flavor was super prominent and very well-mixed into the drink! The ube part was more subtle but I liked the combo and especially how it wasn't too sweet. Do not sleep on their cookies!! The pecan cacao featured a bed of chocolate at the base of their cookie with their pecan nut butter throughout. It was gooey with the pecan butter, chewy from the cookie dough, and crunchy from the chocolate! For someone who loves peanut butter but not so much jam/jelly, I liked the PB&J more than expected. The ratio of peanut butter and jelly was pretty good, and I loved the sweet-savory flavor action with each bite. The cookie was chewy but a bit soft. The service was as expected during a soft opening; people were nice and friendly, but definitely still some kinks (some staff were actively undergoing training). I also very much appreciated how multiple staff members at different times clarified if I had any allergy concerns. The manager was so kind and offered a nut butter taste testing 10-15 minutes prior to closing! He was very knowledgable and walked me through the different types/order to taste test. I definitely want to come back for their almond butter and praline mocha. I learned that they have their own hazelnut trees in France to make their special nut butters. Ordered two drinks from here. The Le Buddy and Fruity Buddy. The first one was good. You could definitely taste the nut butter in the coffee. The second one is the drink that went viral but I'm sorry to say this, it was not good. It looked AMAZING but the taste was too tart. I had mixed it before drinking it and it does not mix well. All I could taste was a tangy Rasberry taste. I'd recommend skipping this one if you ever do try it. The Le Buddy is the one to get in my opinion. read more

Buddy Buddy is a laidback modern friendly coffee bar that's just opened a location on the Bowery, recently. it is still in SOFT OPENING mode as they are working out their NYC coffee program, menu, and workflow. Buddy Buddy has other locations in Paris and Brussels. Buddy Buddy is committed to the quality coffees and organic nut butters and it shows in their coffee + nuts butter signature drinks. have been here a number of times and enjoyed several unique drinks. 1st visit: tried the "Le Buddy" (organic peanut butter latte w/ espresso). ordered it "hot" (but you can order drinks iced as well) --the drink was a tasty combination of coffee and peanut butter mixed together. the peanut butter comes through smoothly mixed in the steamed milk and complements the espresso of coffee. there's no additional sugar added to the drinks to sweeten them (you can add more sweetness that via simple syrup in the drink pickup area) but the "Le Buddy" was mildly sweet, naturally, peanut buttery smoothness, and had a coffee caffeine kick, too. 2nd visit: ordered a "Iced Le Buddy" and swapped the peanut butter to an almond butter. basically a almond butter latte + espresso. the drink tasted like almond's nuttiness and slight sweetness + coffee of the iced latte, but also a little savory because almonds are savory when roasted. this drink tastes more coffee forward than the peanut butter version. 3rd visit: ordered the Praline Mocha which is made with hazelnut butter, dark chocolate, vanilla and espresso. this is a rich drink where the hazelnut butter comes through nicely along with the dark chocolate and notes of vanilla and coffee. the drink feels dessert-y without the sugar. 4th visit: ordered a normal Americano coffee (no nuts!) and it was a good Americano made with a Brazilian coffee bean--smooth, chocolatey notes, and a tiny bit of fruit tartness. the nut butters aren't just purchasable in the coffee drinks but also are purchasable by the jar. the coffee used in the drinks is also purchasable in bags of coffee beans. there are snackable items to buy like "nut butter cheeks." the vibe is low-key energetic and modern with a good amount of seating in the front area where the coffee bar is and is for conversation and the smaller area in the back is an an area designated for laptop and tablet use. the staff from the counter people to the baristas are super friendly and can answer a variety of questions about the drinks or if you have allergen concerns. Buddy Buddy is definitely a unique fun addition to the coffee landscape in NYC and provides a welcome place to have a conversation and enjoy some "nutty" drinks. while it's still in soft-opening mode, it's off to a great start...look forward to seeing what the final experience will be like! read more

This is a very peanut butter centered coffee shop with that being said I absolutely loved Everything about this place. I didn't take a lot of pictures because it was jampacked with all of the busy buzz that they are getting from TikTok, but without being said, it is a very fast piece and very busy with little to no seating of a coffee shop hopefully the hype dies down in the future. I got the buddy Matcha, which was basically a peanut butter Matcha and a peanut butter muffin again I did not take pictures due to how busy it was and I didn't want to hold up anyone with that being said my total came out to almost $20 with tip the Drink was $10 and I think the muffin was close to $10 and then I also tipped with that being said if it wasn't so far from my house, I would absolutely probably be there every morning or every afternoon on a lunch break. If I lived close by I absolutely love peanut butter and this was just Top-tier like an experience for me, but I do have blank Street pretty much everywhere so yeah absolutely, absolute try. an iced peanut butter latte was not at all on my bingo card but was unexpectedly delicious! i got the le buddy with peanut butter milk and i really enjoyed it! the line moves relatively quick and the service was really quick. there is a good amount of seating but is also packed so would need to get slighltly lucky to get a seat here, esp since it just opened. there is a section in the back for those who want to work and use laptops and for everyone else the seating in the main area is up for grabs, personally a huge fan of this! my friend got the almond butter chai which was really good if you're looking for a non coffee option. we also got the fruity buddy which was a pb&j latte and it wasn't overly sweet which was really nice. not sure i would go out of my way to get it again given that it was $9 which is STEEP for me but happy i got to try it read more

despite only recently opening, buddy buddy was packed when i went on a late saturday morning. i enjoyed the darker interior and ambiance and although there were many tables along the wall, all of them were filled. i ordered the fruity buddy drink with peanut milk which is supposed to be modeled after the classic pb&j. i was told to stir it well before drinking. the drink definitely had a strong peanut butter and raspberry flavor as advertised but i wished that i could also taste the coffee too. the raspberry was a bit overpowering and made the drink a little too sweet for my preference. however, i loved the concept and would still come back to try another drink! read more
