My last review for this business was in March, exactly 2 months ago and I gave them 5 stars, mainly for good service but also because FRED told me he would give me 100 off (SCAMMER). During the time I felt they deserved the 5 star review, well at least Fred's staff did. Fred promised us a new fog lamp for the car because the current one was shattered. Its been 2 months and still no fog lamp. I have called countless times politely asking to speak with Michael or Fred and still haven't received a call back. I finally got word from Michael that they needed to resend it but never received a call back telling it was shipped. Clearly this is a little strange since they called me back immediately when it was regarding purchasing a car. Just about 2 weeks ago the car had a warning come up on my dashboard telling me i need to take it in because there is a drive train issue. It freaked me out obviously because I just purchased my first car and they told me it was in perfect condition. So i start calling asking to speak with Michael because he always had good advice when it comes to BMWs , however he never seemed to be "available" even though he was "available" when I was purchasing through the whole process. 2 weeks and 5 calls go by and I STILL haven't received any calls back. (Just a little detail to add, the whole time we were there financing the car, the whole staff was free and available just hanging out, but somehow I cannot get a call back now) At this point my patience and respect for everyone there is out the window. I call again today and speak with Sandy, I tell her the issues about the fog lamp and the drive train and she literally said to me.... "Its just like blaming your doctor for not predicting that you are going to get sick" WHAT?? How many times has she used that line on customers, thats what I want to know. Now to wrap this whole thing up, my boyfriend calls to speak with Fred (THE OWNER) politely hoping we can work something out or at least get some insight on what might be going on to help us feel some relief. Instead Fred immediately begins interrupting my boyfriend and threatens legal action and says he will not speak with us ever again or pick our phone calls up cause he has spoken with his lawyer and we are threatening him. First off, we never have spoken with Fred about these two incidents since we left reno with the car, both my boyfriend and I have been nothing but polite and patient, and we DEFINITELY did not threaten anyone. Fact of the matter is this is a fraudulent business that does not believe in customer service or loyalty, they believe in greed and doing whatever they can to make a sale and then refuse to do business with you any further. Just took my car to sell it and the carfax shows a multi collision accident and the whole front end was replaced. I'm now out $10,000 from a vehicle I bought 2 months ago. Worst experience ever. Decided to give this place a shot because they had a car on the lot that Ive been looking for. I came in with my fiancé and inquired about wanting to purchases the vehicle, I told them my whole situation. One part of my situation was that I still had a vehicle that I owed on they advised me that my best bet was to sell it private party because they wouldn't be able to break even with me on what it's worth so my best option was to sell it private party and I would get what my vehicle is worth, which made sense. But before I did that, I explained that if I sell my car and don't get approved for this one then I'm out of a car and I am in a place where I need a car. So I made sure to explain specifically my credit and job situation and knowing of course that there is no guarantee knowledge of approval until credit is actually ran but at least an idea of if they think that I would get approved because they are the ones that have experience. After I explained my situation the sales rep said "oh absolutely, you'll get approved. We approve people like you all the time" so they said to go ahead and sell my car and come back to run paperwork. The day I sold my car I made sure to call Budget Motors for more reassurance before I officially sold my car I talked to another sales rep, told him my situation and he reassured me again that my odds we're good but I also wanted to hear it from the manager so he handed the phone over to the finance manager I explained to him my situation and he said the same thing and reassured me. Based off of there advice and recommendation I sold my car and went down to the dealership. When my fiancée and I got to the dealership we sat down to start paperwork, halfway through the paperwork I was feeling a little uneasy about the purchase so I wanted to go see the car one more time before I make a permanent decision. After that, we came back and the finance sale rep Sandy ran our credit which I was confused about because I told them I was hesitant but non the less I did sign paperwork. What I didn't understand was they ran my fiancés credit but he never signed anything saying that they had permission too. Not only that but when she sat down to talk with us she was right off the bat rude. The first thing she said was trying to tell me how bad my credit was, which confused me because I have good credit so when I told her no that can't be me she cut me off and said uh yes that's your credit and rolled her eyes at me. When I turned around and said no, I take pride in my credit and I know what it is and that's not it she scoffed at me. I said that looks like my fiancé's credit so I looked closer at the paperwork work and sure enough it was his not mine. So she goes "oh well oops" then precedes to demean him on his credit and make awful remarks towards him, as well as stereotype comments toward both of us. I then asked her why she ran his credit when I was told by a couple people including the finance manager that it wasn't needed. As well as he didn't sign anything giving permission, she just gave an excuse about how the employees there don't know what they are doing or what they are talking about. I told her that I told the sales rep about my fiancé credit being stolen so he's currently working on his credit, to which he reassured me that it wasn't a problem because they didn't need it for that reason but again she just made more excuses. She then precedes to tell me that unless I put 4K down on this vehicle that they wouldn't approve me. I then said I don't have that much to put down currently but can we maybe work on the price of the car a little to help because I see on KBB that the car is worth 4K less than they are asking she then got offended and was mad I said that. I told her I didn't mean to offend, she told me that they base all there prices off of a different version of KBB that they pay for. I then asked her if I can see there version of the KBB value of the car just for reassurance purposes so that I know I am purchasing a vehicle at a decent price she hesitated then said "what you need to do is go get a loan from your bank, we can no longer help you" I was confused but ultimately said fine that's what I'll do, but again asked if I can see the KBB price, she then got up very annoyed and said "fine but I am busy now and need to help others so it'll be 15 minutes". I said okay. After 20 minutes of waiting she comes back saying "I no longer have time for you, come back later but here's the paper to take to your bank". I went to the bank and was told they couldn't approve the amount the dealership was asking because when they entered the VIN the car came up worth 10k and wasn't worth the 14k the dealer wanted. went back to talk to the finance manager directly. He ran our credit more, approved us on a different car worth more that we didn't want. Later found out by capital one that they approved us but Budget Motors turned them down because they wanted more money. read more

I purchased a vehicle last summer 7/2012 that treated me well. When I recently had an accident and looking for a new vehicle, I went back. Being that I was a second time buyer I thought I would have been treated better. To make a long story short, The Owner is MONEY HUNGRY! Had his finance mgr upsell me and tried to charge me an outrageous down payment for someone that has good credit, now in the 700 range. They knew I would be getting money back from insurance company on total loss, and they wanted ALL OF IT! Instead I went across the street to Harrys and was treated very well. They had the same vehicle I wanted and I purchased the same day. Budget should learn how to treat their locals if they want to stay in business. I would not recommend to anyone else in future because of how they treated me. read more

Recently was in with my girlfriend and she purchased a 2010 Audi Q5. When presented the long sheet with the breakdown on charges, there was a charge of $300 for window etching. When we brought this up Sandy stated this charges was on all vehicles and not negotiable. This is a scam as who knows if they performed the service, the car may have already had it from a prior sale. They did not give us an option to have it done, they said they just do it and charge us. If this was something they want to just do and not even give us a choice then they should just provide the service as a courtesy and not decide for me that I want to spend $300 on it. Three days after purchasing the vehicle it broke down on the freeway with a warning the battery was dead. We replaced with a new one and the next day the car broke down again on the freeway. My girlfriend was barely able to get the car over from the fast lane to the shoulder, cars dodging her at 65 mph PLUS as the car literally turned off in the middle of the freeway. We are lucky she or anyone else was not injured. When we called them to discuss this I was asked if I purchased the warranty and when I said I didn't Sandy was very short and said that's why we offer it and can't do anything about it. I said what about the document you provided us stating that the vehicle had gone through a FULL vehicle inspection and passed with no issues (this was a lie). She quickly replied they will look into it and hung up. Needles to say we have not heard back from them and now it's been almost a month. We have so far spent over $300 on a new battery, new alternator and this has still NOT fixed the problem. They do not care that they sold a car that they knew had issues to someone as long as they made money. I would NEVER purchase from them again and strongly suggest nobody else does. read more

Over a year since I bought a car here.. Dennis was great in finance, The sales girl was clueless.. They did a half ass job of cleaning the carpets as I asked but that's my fault for getting out of there with out making it an issue. When I picked up the car they sales girl again was out of it Dennis had to literally yell at the girl to get her act together. Not the worst kind of early morning comedy. Fred the owner comes by a says oh by the way there is a small grill piece on the right front of your car missing I ordered one for you and we will put it on when it comes in. Okay not bad well 28 days later the car is stuck in park. I have to have it towed somewhere. I call the dealer to get the name of a local mechanic that they had recommended as I had lost the contact information. It was like I never bought the car there no call back and after finally talking to a sales person he said he couldn't recommend anyone but he would have someone call.. Well, NO Call...Never heard from FRED on the grill piece... I would shop around if I were you.. Not stand up guys once they have your money. Now you lie and say I didn't by a vehicle from you.. **Please Read** NOT 3 Stars - Yelp Will Not Allow me to Rate 0 to 1 Stars** Bought 2005 Lancer Evo. Saturday at the end of NOV.2014. I was told multiple time the car will pass California Smog. I bought the car and took it back to California only to find out the engine has modifications that will not pass California Smog. Drove the car back Sunday left it there to have a part swap. I told them there was an Oil Leak and the the gear grinds. They assured these problems will be fixed. Two weeks after (took them that long) after bugging them almost everyday about a status. I went back and got the car. Oil leak is still there. Was told by their mechanics that it was just residue(they are straight up dishonest people or incompetent). Gear still grinds. I was furious and just left. List of problems the car has problem to date: Upon driving back to California that weekend, the intercooler hose popped off. Was stranded on highway packed with snow for awhile. This was because the mechanics swapped the T-Bolt to a cheap hose clamp. I can tell because the pictures originally posted by the dealer had the T-clamp on. Oil leaks - I found there is a crack in the valve cover screw (You can see JB weld on it). Not sure if this is done by them or was there before. They should have seen this or maybe they never looked at it(dishonest because their leak check showed there are no leaks). Don't know if this is the only leak or not. **HVAC control does not work **Hard to shift gears and grinds in reverse. **Battery died - Had to be replaced. **Just recently found Vacuum Hoses were hooked up wrong after they took out aftermarket parts to smog. Worst Car Buying Experience Ever! They did try to help(well not really...) by having me drive back there with the car; however, their only interest is to have it pass smog(legally need to have it pass smog before you can sell it). They totally ignored to fix the oil leak as promised. **Update - Still has all the above problems. **Sales person placed me on a daily interest loan. Was not notified when purchasing. No details still on insurance I bought through them. read more

The reason why I'm giving this business two stars is because my car is gorgeous and in great condition. So far (knock on wood) I have only had a small problem with the battery connector that was seemingly caused by someone (presumably someone who works on this car lot) doing a poor job at cleaning the engine. Anyhow -- the rest of the experience was somewhat of a nightmare. Definitely your typical used car dealership experience to say the least. If you are inexperienced, make sure you bring someone who knows cars or finances with you because they will most definitely attempt to take advantage of you. First off, as many other posters have mentioned, the owner of this business is absolutely awful to deal with. In the short time I had to endure being around him, he said things that were completely out of line. The rest of the staff does not seem to have any sense of decent customer service skills either nor are they knowledgeable about the cars or financing. The ONLY person you should talk to through the financing process is Dennis. He is reasonable and he will at the very least have the right information for you. Anyone else who tries to discuss financing with you will likely mislead you, perhaps multiple times, and you will probably be really frustrated. Overall, please proceed with caution. read more

Excellent value, excellent service. Although I had a car in mind prior to walking onto the lot, I drove a total of four car makes to get a comparison of performance and comfort. Salesperson Ron, to whom I spoke over the phone, was there to greet me. He was both professional and accommodating and spent the time needed for me to make an informed decision. This, by the way, is an enormous dealership. I walked across the street to their other lot, where Ron showed me every last car that may fit my needs. And if you think that they just sell the popular makes, think again. At the time, the show room featured an Aston Martin! I was looking for a good value, and I received it. I wasn't there to be a "...part of [anyone's] family," nor to pay for and/or subsidize the acting careers of the owners of the other dealerships through the purchase of an automobile. "No Deal!" I never write reviews but after my horrible experience at this place I felt the need to warn potential buyers. If the name Budget Motors raises a red flag for you then seek a vehicle elsewhere. In my experience I found a car that suited my needs and upon my better judgments I decided to check it out without my husband. I tried to make myself clear from the start that I already was approved through my credit union to buy the car at 2.9 %. I told them THREE times to not pull my credit. My request was ignored and they pulled my credit after asking me to fill out an information sheet and acquiring my signature. When I confronted my sales agent Jeff about pulling my credit without my consent he replied "I know and I'm sorry, we pull everyone's credit". I should have walked out right there but he then proceeded to tell me they would absorb the balance of my current vehicle and I would pay the asking price of their vehicle ( which I may add was $4,000 above Kelly blue books value). He was very pushy in trying to get me to sign the price statement, which thankfully I didn't as they weren't absorbing any of remaining car debt. They simply added the remaining balance onto my new car loan! Making a $30,000 car $37,000. This dealership has a lot of 5 star reviews but in my opinion the staff must sit around and write one a day. I would give them 0 stars if I could. read more

Poor customer relations and a liar. I stopped in a few days ago and came very close to purchasing a car from this place. Dealt directly with the owner Fred, came off like a nice guy and very sincere. BUT HE IS FAR FROM, his dealership is a joke. Speaks very highly of carfax, but when asked for one on the vehicle I was inquiring about, I was given an autocheck. He made it very clear that was a carfax and the car was very clean with no accidents. I then left the lot and went home to think it over before buying. As I was doing that I could not help myself in thinking it was too good to be true. So I ran a carfax my self and long and behold it was in 2 accidents and had sever frame damage reported. None of this was every made aware to myself from the dealership. JUST WANT TO MAKE EVERYONE AWARE OF THE WAY THIS DEALERSHIP OPPERATES, HIGHLY SUGGEST GOING ELSEWHERE. read more

I would like to retract my statement that I said on this comment page. Like I said they are good people to deal with. Very friendly and pleasent to deal with. I misunderstood on the warranty they sold me. I thought I was buying the full warranty but instead if was only power train only. I want to say I'm sorry for the statement that I made. Please go to these people it you want a good car in which they have from what I have seen. If something is wrong with the car after you buy it please take it back and have them check it out for you so they can make good in some way or other. I tried to call them about my shocks but phone calls were not returned and in anger I just went and had shocks replaced, without take the car to them to check out. The real shocks for this corvette is eletronic shocks and are around 4000.00 to replace in which I did not replace them with those shocks, I modified the shock to a regulare shock and had to take to dealer to have the code taken out so I could drive over 80mph if I want to. That was over 100.00 to have that done. It only cost me around 1000.00 total to have shock replaced and code taken out. In which several people have done. So please go to this dealer ship and buy a good car and do not do what I did. I want to say sorry to the dealer ship in my early statement that I made out of anger. SORRY. read more
