We sat in the bar with Karoline, and she is a great bartender, offered lots of useful recommendations. The best suggestion was the Cream of Crab soup. Get the bowl for $2 more, you won't be disappointed.

We had out-of-town guests and we went to Bud's based on reviews and recommendations from locals. We were not disappointed. Anything with crab that we ordered were REALLY good! The cream of crab soup, the chicken chesapeake, scallops over crab risotto, crab eggrolls.... The chunks of crabs are so good and it worked with whatever sauce or pairings they came with. We requested for an appetizer sampler which they don't have on their menu, but they came up with something for us so we got to try a variety of food. We also loved the elk chops. Not gamey at all, maybe slight gamey-ness when you get closer to the bone. However, it was tender and not dry. Tasty! The teriyaki-pineapple sauce went very well with the salmon and they're pork chops were well-spiced without being overpowering. No sauce, but my boys ate them all up! That's how good it was. The gentlemen in the group got the ribeye and there were no complaints. Meat was medium rare and plates were "dusted"! Definitely recommended as it is not as expensive compared to other similar establishments.

My second time here. This time to celebrate my birthday. Great place to come for a special occasion or just for a really great, and inexpensive lunch! Billy Joe was our server both visits, and she's the best! Great personality and very attentive! The food is always so awesome. I had the cream of crab soup, that had huge chunks of backfin. I followed up with Chicken Chesapeake, substituting fries and salad instead of roasted potatoes and the veggies of the day. Others had the filet mignon, rib eye steak, and blackened rockfish. I tasted each and they were all fabulous! The wine list has great depth and good, affordable options. Very tasty cocktails and excellent desserts! We live in Finksburg and it's worth the 30 minute drive to come here. It would be worth 2 hour! I could go on and on about this place. As a former president said, "Everyone says they're the best. Believe me!"

Ask the Community - Bud's At Silver Run

This place have allergen free and vegan options ? Any soy free items ? My kids have allergies to nuts and soy. We pretty much have to only stick to oats and coconut…

Bud's is a small restaurant with a concise menu. I recommend you look at the menu on their website or on Facebook to determine if they can meet your allergy needs.

First, half the tables were empty and there was still like a half hour wait. It just seemed not staffed enough, but once you're here (they don't take reservations) there's not a lot of places nearby to change your mind to. There is a small merch shop to browse as you wait. The tables are nicely spaced out. The Bavarian pretzels were great, but they only come with mustard and cheese is an upcharge, which I've never seen as a pretz connoisseur. It was an interesting thicker cream cheese-ish dip which required spreading with the knife. The website lists a "weekly steak special" but none was to be found when we went. So we got the gyro which was decent and the Philly cheesesteak which was extremely salty to the point of being almost inevitable. The homemade chips (the only non upcharge size) were thick and crunchy. Both sandwiches were around $20 which felt overpriced for the quality. Other sides were available for an upcharge, which seemed not worth it on the existing bill. The service was good, the bathrooms were nice, and there was plenty of parking. The food was just disappointing. If you're more of a drinker, you may be able to overlook that.

She was a ray of sunshine and gave us help in deciding on menu items. We both ordered salads. I ordered the crab and shrimp Louis salad. And, my friend ordered a chicken salad. Our salads were huge, fresh, and delicious. I really liked the fresh veggies and poached shrimp. I also liked the surprise sprinkle of Old Bay on my seafood. I wasn't a fan of the crabmeat. The dressing was delicious too. My friend liked her chicken salad. She did say her chicken was a little dry. But, she loved all of the fresh veggies and ended up taking the leftovers home. I also ordered the Oreo cheesecake which was delicious. I mean come on now, you combine Oreo's and cheesecake, that is a winning combination and the whipped cream was amazing. The restaurant itself was bright, colorful, and full of sea themed decor. The booth was comfortable and you get 3 hours of free parking in the garage. Again, thanks Fatima for your excellent service. We will definitely be back.

This spot is a real treat for history lovers. The building itself dates back to 1776, and learning about the fascinating history behind it--including its role as a stop on the Underground Railroad--adds so much depth to the experience. We ate downstairs in the cozy, candlelit Springhouse Tavern cellar, which has an amazing, authentic colonial atmosphere. The food was just as spectacular as the vibe. The French Onion Soup: Absolutely amazing. It comes piping hot with a thick layer of perfectly melted, gooey cheese on top. The Drinks: I paired my meal with their bottled root beer, which was excellent and fit the old-school tavern feel perfectly. You get great food, incredible service, and a piece of living history all in one stop. Don't miss this place when you are in town!

Built in 1776, it has been a family home, the first classical school west of the Susquehanna River, a stop on the Underground Railroad, and even a Civil War field hospital. Today, you can grab an incredible meal while surrounded by centuries of history. If you go, eat in the basement tavern. The atmosphere alone is worth the trip. I kicked things off with the Baked King's Onion Soup, loaded with perfectly toasted cheese and a surprise twist--shredded beef that took it to another level. I followed that with the Spit Roasted Chicken Dinner, roasted the old-fashioned way over an open fire until the skin was perfectly crisp while the meat stayed juicy and tender. Because apparently I arrived with the appetite of all 19 Dobbin kids, I also ordered the Dobbin's Hot Beef Sandwich. Tender roast beef on a buttery brioche roll with rich au jus for dipping? Absolutely demolished it. Then came the roast beef club with Swiss, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and mayo, plus not one... but two sides of potato salad. Pro tip: dip the potato salad into the onion soup. You're welcome. The Dobbin House proves that great food never goes out of style. They say you can't eat history... but after this meal, I'm pretty sure I did. If these walls could talk, they'd probably tell me to slow down next time.

When you enter this place its at ground level and immediately you recognize you need to take the stairs up. Once you usher yourself up it opens up to two areas where you wait to be seated. The place is an older vintage like gastropub where the front is one bar and some seating, but on the backside is more open seating with where the band and another bar are situated. This place isn't meant to be for large groups, but could possibly accommodate groups of 6. The main bar which also next to the kitchen is an older vintage style bar and whisky's is nothing special but once you sit down and hear the music you settle in nicely. Service has always been courteous and prompt and the menu looks like there are a good assortment of choices. The two times I've been here I've ordered the mussels which includes great sauce and spread with seasoned ground meet. Was so yummy! The second time I came I tried the CHICKEN FRICASSEE. Man was that great! It includes 4 pieces of bread, chicken and the mushroom sauce. So good! Both times I had some of their assortment of single scoop ice-cream which in this area, something about the milk from their amish cows is so creamy. All that said, this is one of my fav places to come enjoy a glass of wine and food. Oh and Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday's they have some instrumental band playing too.
