I happened to pass Buenas on my way to the car rental spot. I had to come back because this has been on my list. It's located in a business area with plenty of parking. Immediately walking into Buenas I can feel good vibes. The cafe is aesthically cute with a few tables indoor and a few tables outdoor for seating. The servers are helpful with great attitudes. I came in here to meet with a coffee club we started at the office. We pick out different coffee shops all over the OC area and try the coffee out. This spot is quaint, hidden and a great vibe. I had a regular black drip coffee, nothing fancy and I enjoyed the flavor of the roast. Other members got different styles of coffee and they all seemed to have enjoyed it as well. The staff was nice and quick! There is some seating inside but its not large enough for a big group as we hogged almost every chair. The parking lot is huge and free parking all around and the location is easy to get to! read more

I asked for directions to the restroom, quick response, asked for a price on a tote bag, one word answer, she messed up my drink order, did offer to fix it but I was fine with what I had. Americano: 3.5/5 Bread: 2/5 The iced americano was okay, not too strong, I would recommend for those who like a lighter flavor. The bread was the disappointment for me. Maybe it's supposed to be this way, but it was so dry and lacking in flavor. The filling is supposed to be corn bread(?) but I couldn't taste the corn at all. The only flavor I could taste was the sugar coating and a little bit of the other spice. Cafe itself is a small and neat, not a lot of indoor seating. The service did catch me off guard a bit. Can we all guess why I'm giving a couple stars based on the picture I posted??? The coffee drink was missing a significant amount?? WTH! This is the 2nd time I have had to leave a bad review and normally I don't like to do it, especially not to small businesses, but this is an obvious one that has to be done. Also, the order was placed online by Deanna and when she got there after 20 minutes the barista said there was no order for her. PALO SANTO. That's all you need to know. If you haven't gone to Buenas, you're missing out. I loveeeeee coffee and this has got to be my top 3 in OC. Robust flavor well balanced with sweetness and a dash of their black salt sprinkled on top. It comes in a small cup but don't let that fool you - it's a strong flavorful quality coffee. Not just a latte that's overly milky or sweet like other places. Pure deliciousness. Thankful for this place. read more

I stopped by this past Monday morning after my chiro appointment around 11 AM and it was packed to the brim inside but then again, it does have a very small seating area inside. There was no friendly greeting nor did they ask if I needed assistance. That was a first for me at a small coffee shop like this place. I ordered their Dirty Horchata and my order was ready within a couple minutes. I tasted no coffee whatsoever and the horchata they had was flavorless. The only flavor I tasted was milk. This shop has unfortunately declined in quality and customer service, the drinks were very milky and very salty. But the most disheartening thing is how the shop manager conducts himself. There were two men talking about Palestine and Israel and they got in an argument and one guy stormed off and there were cuss words and very bad energy in this shop. They talked about other bizarre things behind the bar and the entire experience here was so different than what i remembered. read more

Horchata is the beverage of the gods. It is a passion of mine to find the best version. Had read quite a few high reviews of this coffee establishment which is just a few blocks down the street in a business complex from what I believe sets the standard in all of OC - Lion and Lamb. But Buenas offered something different in the form of horchata. There are multiple variations but typically the most common is cinnamon and rice milk based. Unfortunately, I found the experience to be disappointing as the drink felt more akin to a cold oatmeal that had been left out as it was overly thick and voluminous while lacking the typical sweetness and fragrance usually associated with it. I really wanted to like this as had been waiting to try this place but perhaps other selections will far better. read more

When I first walked in, the barista was so nice and recommend 2 of the most popular drinks. We were excited to see that there was a local Latin inspired coffee shop. The guys working behind the counter provide excellent customer service. They make recommendations for their different types of coffee and espressos. What seals the deal is that they prepare a perfect cup of coffee to go along with your choice of hand made pop tarts. The pop tarts I tried were the apple and the pumpkin. Both were amazing. The apple pop tart was delicious and very flavorful. The warmth and flavor provided a perfect morning snack. However, the hand made pumpkin pop tart was all that and a bag of chips! The pumpkin pop tart comes just in time for the holidays and goes amazingly well with their Americano. The hand me pop tarts, coffee, music and friendly staff make this a new favorite spot of mine.
