I tried this cafe while doing a coffee crawl and I'm so glad it was on the crawl. This cafe is so adorable and cozy in a shady quiet neighborhood. The inside has seating and when I went people were working on their laptops. They have a cute covered outdoor patio perfect for enjoying their drinks and food. I got the Agua de Jamaica Lemonade mix and it was so delicious and perfect for a summer day. The workers were nice, it was easy to find parking, and they also were selling artwork inside. I'll definitely be back!

Bueno cafe is such a colorful and vibrant cafe. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are friendly. It's like being at your Auntie's house, feels very family oriented. They have a case of really yummy pastries. The ham role was flavorful and toasty. The breakfast sandwich gives some options. I only wish the English muffin had been toasted a bit more and the cheese was a little more melty but it still did the job. We sampled the red velvet mocha, a must try especially if you like your coffee sweet. We also enjoyed the Carmelo latte. Not just your average Carmel drink because it definitely had some cinnamon and maybe other spices perfect for this rainy day. I would love to go back!

This has become a regular stop for us. It's a great place for a quick stop in for take out, or to sit down for a meeting or to hang out with friends. They have indoor and outdoor seating and the whole building is open, bright and welcoming. The team here is friendly and they have a good variety of drinks and food available. On my latest visit I opted for the Coco Loco mocha (16oz $7.50) and a pastrami sandwich ($16.75). I love that there are murals all over the walls in the cafe and it's a really cute spot. I took my sandwich and drink to go and both were tasty.

Beautiful place. Reminds me of home. I stepped in and instantly felt at home. Everyone was so nice and kind. Food was delicious and drinks as well. Was looking for a new breakfast spot when my bf spotted this on his map. First impression- cute little cafe with plenty of outside seating in the shade the girl at the counter was super nice and helped us decide what to get. We each got an americano (hot and iced), tried the chorizo and ham/cheese/jalapeño breads. Americanos were decent- the 24oz one was comically big. I really want to try their specialty lattes. The buns were SO GOOD. They warm them up for you and are the appropriate size for a good breakfast. I couldn't decide which one I liked better but be warned that the ones with jalapeño are actually spicy. The chorizo one has eggs and cheese. Both of the breads were so soft and delicious. The best sandwich- got it in a bolillo with pepper jack. First bite was a flavor explosion. So good! The peppers and onions were fresh and although the bolillo could've used a little more toasting, still had a slight crunch. My bf wished it would've been slightly bigger especially for the price. Overall- will return. We want to try more of the menu! looking at you, conchas.

As part of the Sacramento Café Passport, my friend and I decided to try out Bueno Cafe. I got the Honey Lavender Latte and my friend got the Strawberry Matcha. First, parking was pretty good although we were here on MLK Day. Both drinks were good and there's also a deli with sandwiches. Good amount of seating inside and a few tables outside. Service is great, they bring the order to your table! Plus, there's music playing inside, but not too loud. Try this place!!

My bestie and I recently checked out this cute coffee shop that had a cozy vibe and a really charming exterior. They have a nice selection of coffee and pastries, including Mexican bread, but I was a bit surprised to find only one breakfast option on the menu--seemed a bit limited for a coffee shop. The staff was super friendly and made us feel welcome, which definitely added to the experience. One of the highlights was the local artwork on display; I had a great time browsing and even ended up buying a few pieces! It was a bit chilly since the door was open on that cold morning, so while it wasn't the warmest spot, the cozy ambiance and unique touches made for a lovely morning catching up with my bestie.

Bueno Cafe is a nice little unassuming neighborhood cafe in the very walkable downtown Sacramento. Picked up a coffee here, but there were plenty of options to choose from, including espresso, matcha, and mochas.

Went on a coffee walking tour hosted by Weekday Social Club and this was one of the shops we visited. This was one of my top favorites on the tour. The owner was personable, knowledgeable, and the coffee was really flavorful, including the eggnog that he added to the coffee. The atmosphere is pretty and laid-back and right within the neighborhood so really appealing also, I want to give a shout out to Carlos who was there with great stories and a cool personality. Go check them out have some coffee and eat some of the pastries.

This cafe came highly recommended to me, but left a little disappointed in my order. I ordered the horchata cold brew. Coffee was basic. Horchata flavor not really present. Cafe decor was cute. Customer service was just as basic as well. No warm greeting, no thanks, just took my order and handed it over. Not bad, but not a place I'd come back to when visiting Sac.

What a great little coffee spot! Located on the corner it has nice outdoor seating and a colorful, comfortable interior with a wall painted with Hispanic icons. I had the Macadamia Latte, which was delicious, and eyed the pastries, which I will definitely try next time! And that next time will be soon!

February 2025 and i am looking for the best place to get conchas in Sacramento. Spot 3 of the year and I doordash a concha from Bueno Cafe for breakfast. I decide to try a latte and pastrami sandwich because I dont wanna just door dash a concha lol. So I place my order... super excited, and i get a dang cookie instead of the concha I ordered !!!!!!! Definitely dissapointed beyond beyondness. All is forgiven because the pastrami sandwich looks and tastes amazing. The white mocha exceeds my expectations of even my favorite coffee spots. Door dash is hit or miss, and when I googled the place it said the volume of business was higher than usual; so, I'll give this place another try for the conchas.

I had high hopes for this cafe, but it fell short for me. For starters, ordering is extremely confusing. There are at least 4 different menus that are spread out throughout the restaurant. So, it was very difficult to understand all that you could order. The pastry case had no labels, no idea what anything was until I asked a worker. The empanadas I ate were alright, very dense, just not my preference. I ordered a latte and it was nothing special.

Yet I'm ANGRY! Yes! ANGRY! I used to live in the apartment complex kitty-korner to this building from 1996-2005. Bueno Cafe was not here then. I still conjecture that IF Bueno Cafe had been here, I would have stayed put and not moved in 2005 to that cheap condo in Rosemont (that went underwater anyways during the Mortgage Burst in 2010-11 - *Phfft*). But moving on.... THE SETUP First off, FULL DISCLOSURE: I know the family that runs this business enterprise - they are my people! My peeps! Carlos Talamantes is(was) a brilliant I.T. & Public Safety expert with the State of California for decades! When some men go through their mid-life crisis, they buy a funny British hat or convertible sports car. Not Carlos! He finds a 2ND career as a restauranteer and bringing passion for Mexican food and drinks to our neighborhood. Carlos is also the husband of my dear friend and colleague Veronica: she and I were fighting in the trenches of training new licensing enforcement officers all up and down the state. And so, understanding the work commitment that this couple step up to all the time in work and their personal lives, makes anything they put their mind to a great success. Speaking of which..... OH THE BEVERAGES!! I made sure to sample a few drinks to get the full array of delicious refreshment that Bueno Cafe brings to the table. My two (2) favorites: * Horchata Horchata Horchata! I've only been to this location once and can't wait to go back. I loved the decor and the staff were quick and friendly when attending to my guest and I. I had the Coldbrew Horchata that was really good. I even got one to go for my husband to try. I was hoping to get a concha w my coffee but they were all out. Hello! I ordered a iced dirty chai and a ham and cheese croissant. The chai only had like 10 cubes of ice so it was lukewarm. I walk to this cafe every Monday during my break between classes to grab a beverage and/or pastry. It's a colorful establishment nestled away in a quiet neighborhood, so you would never know it was there unless you walk around and explore. They have a wide variety of Mexican inspired beverages on their menu. So far, I've tried the Como La Flor, Strawberry Matcha, and Horchata Cold Brew. They also serve deli sandwiches until 2PM, but I can never make it in before then. I love supporting small businesses and will continue to spread the word to my fellow classmates here at the Sacramento Downtown Campus. read more

Food here is amazing. Best coffee and sandwiches. I wish I lived close by, otherwise I'd be here all the time. Their drinks are sweet and delicious. Their sandwiches are rich, savory and absolutely melts in your mouth. The vibe is very relaxed. A lot of seating area (indoor and out). The few times I've been here, I've seen a handful of people working on laptops or studying. Some customers come in and chat with the employees/owners for a bit. I used to stop by for cafe de holla, however the flavor seemed to change, instead of a cinnamon forward flavor it has an intense, almost alcohol burnt like flavor not sure if it's the coffee or the pilonsillo.. the bread however is still pretty good, just make sure it isn't one of the last because mine was hard as a rock and I had to toss it.. will still highly recommend for other coffees and breads just a little sad about the cafe de olla flavor changing. read more

We felt welcome from the moment we walked in through the doors. The employees were so welcoming and helpful. I enjoyed the Horchata cold brew and a pink concha. My sister and mom had the iced mazapan mocha, breakfast sandwich, and a Mexican mocha. Everything was wonderful and tasted great. This was my first time to Bueno Cafe and it's a nice hidden gem nestled in the Southside Park neighborhood of Sacramento. When I walked in, I was greeted with the fresh smells of coffee, baked breakfast goods and hospitality like no other. I was in a hurry so didn't have much time to stay, but I ordered the Mexican Mocha which is 1 of the 7 drinks available off the "secret menu" and it tasted great. I also ordered the breakfast sandwich which didn't have a wow factor to it but tasted as expected. They also have a deli sandwich area with various sandwich offerings which I'd be open to trying next time. Monday morning and I walk into this Cafe with the doors wide open since it's abnormally warm for the end of February. Maybe it's because it's a leap year, who really knows these days... Anyway, this Cafe has the charm of a cafe you'd find in Puerto Vallarta. A kinda rustic Mexican vibe with some very cool artwork tastefully integrated into the walls and furniture of the interior. If you didn't know any better you could close your eyes and imagine you are in some cool little oceanside village chilling to some nice music and taking in the sensory experience of being someplace "else". Still, you are in midtown Sacramento tucked into the South and West corner of the grid or whatever they call nowadays. I really like this place and it feels like an escape from the typical you know what and the baristas losing their mind with all the mobile orders and the complainers that wanted half calf at a specific temperature. That kinda vibe stresses me out because of the amount of stress permeating the people working the espresso machines. That and the noise level is cray cray :( If you want to chillax and put your mind at ease, slow down and take time to think and rethink the day or the week or even just the hour stop by this place and you will see why it's worth more than a dozen of those quick drive thru "gimme what I want right now" cafes that pop up too often on smart phone search! Bueno Cafe is a hidden gem and I hope they are around for a long time. read more

Went to breakfast with my mom here on a weekday at 11 am, there was 6 people working and no one said a single thing despite it not being busy. I waited 10 minutes until someone acknowledged us, then when we were helped, the cashier could not get out order correct. I had to repeat myself 6 times and still they had my order wrong. I really love this cafe because not only do they serve great coffee drinks, but they also serve amazing sandwiches. I'm a vegetarian so I always get their pesto mozzarella pressed sandwich. I'm from Los Angeles and have found it hard to find a concentrated area of Latinidad and Chicano/a culture but this cafe really does scratch that itch. I love the food, drinks, art, and deep community vibes that this restaurant has. Every member of the staff has been very friendly, rom the cook, to the baristas, to the owners. Love this place, Service is great they are very nice answered my questions and always get my orders right! discovered this place with my sister a couple of months ago we got hooked on the Mexican Mocha Hot and the sandwich called "The Best Sandwich" its very delicious it's a Roast Beef sandwich with other flavors things in and their Chipotle sauce is hella good. If you try it I don't think there's any other sandwich place you can compare it to when u describe it to someone.. this last time I went I got my usual and I also tried for the first time the Coco Mocha iced not at all what I expected you taste everything and the coconut is not over powering which I loved because I tasted everything. Had a very pleasant experience here, with quick and friendly service and delicious drinks and sandwiches! We came around 10:30am on a Saturday and they were already nearly sold out of pan dulce/pastries, so make sure to come early if you want to try them!! I got the honey lavender latte with oat milk and the breakfast sandwich with bacon and the chipotle aioli (highly recommend adding the chipotle aioli) and both were very good. There is wifi, a good amount of seating, a few outlets, and ambient music so I found this café to be a pretty good study spot! Cute little coffee shop tucked away in downtown Sacramento! It's colorful and fun, and they have plenty of seating inside and outside. They have a menu of specialty drinks on the wall, but make sure you catch the "secret menu" drinks listed at the entrance! I picked the Delicioso Mocha from the regular menu, and my husband had the Granito de Canela from the secret menu. Both drinks were delicious but I liked my husband's better - the white chocolate combo with the dulce and hazelnut was so tasty. Service was good, very friendly. We thought drinks would take a while because a big party was ordering ahead of us, but it was actually very quick! It actually took longer to order than to get the drinks and there were just two ladies working. We were in and out in 15 mins. Very cute spot and I hope they'll succeed! read more

Bueno left a great impression on me with its cozy and inviting atmosphere, making me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in. The staff provided amazing service, being friendly, attentive, and genuinely caring about customer satisfaction. I was delighted to find that Bueno also offered a delicious chorizo pastry, which I highly recommend trying. As someone who is always on the lookout for conchas, I couldn't resist stopping by to satisfy my craving, and I was happy with the concha's they had, I got 3! I am sort of a Matcha snob and always try iced matcha lattes at new places, Bueno's version was a bit too sweet for my liking which I was really bummed about. The cashier was extremely rude and dismissive. I ordered a coffee and tried to order a pan, cashier didn't understand and kept saying "bun?" When I pointed out what I wanted she said "that's called a concha" - I'm Mexican- no it's not. But I went with it and said yes and tried to explain which one I wanted. She said "you want a specific color?" And looked at me like I was crazy. Well yes I do want a specific one, because I don't want a concha, I want a polvorone. I didn't say that to her. I just said never mind and left. This is my 5th time there and first experience like this. I'm unsure if she was in training and just nervous but I don't want to deal with a rude person on my lunch break. Not everyone is meant to work in customer service. Won't be back. read more

This place is a gem. I've been here a few times and everything I've tried has been very delicious, fresh, and flavorful. I love love loveeee a good pumpkin spice latte and the one I got from Bueno Cafe takes the cake. Best pumpkin spice latte I've ever had. I've also tried their turkey club sandwich and ham and cheese pastry. Both were super yummy. The service is great. The employees are super nice and prepare everything expeditiously, which is very much appreciated when I'm on my lunch break. The inside is also really nice and cozy. They have beautiful murals on the wall and colorful decor everywhere. I love the overall look and vibe. I can't wait to come back and try more items from their menu! read more

I'm always on the hunt for a delicious lunch sandwich and after finding them on Instagram, I made the short trek out. I was not disappointed! First off, I think they've only been open for a short time so you might still see them doing construction or remodels out front where they do have a patio and seating. They also have ample seating inside so head on in! Inside is super cutely decorated with some nice wall art of famous Latinx folks holding coffee and pastries. They serve a lot of different things here including a wide selection of coffee, pastries, and lunch sandwiches. The staff were very friendly and patient and helped explain all the different ones and which ones they recommend. They have probably 9 sandwiches? Only three were on the tv screen and they have menus of the other ones. I got the mozy melt which was delicious and my boyfriend got the best sandwich. Both were amazing and I can confirm my mozy melt leftovers were still fantastic the next day. I will definitely be back. Gotta get my lunch/coffee fix somewhere! read more

Today was our first time trying Bueno cafe. The Canelo iced coffee was delicious - light and sweet. The best sandwich was probably the best sandwich I've had. So buttery, saucy, cheesy and tasty. It's pressed - had a great texture. The red onions give it the crisp you want. A must try! We got one to share, and ended up getting another one to share because of how yummy it was. This cute little cafe near the midtown area is perfect for weekend catch ups with friends or a place to hangout which studying. My friend was super excited to find this place as she is South American and this place definitely is proud of their South/latin American culture and flaunts their pride in through their wonderful decor, unique drinks, and diverse food and pastries options. My favorite deli in San Francisco before they closed, was "Panelli Brothers, and they sold what was called, a "Panelli whatever.". Same concept. The special takes me right back to that. I had the Moroccan Yogurt and weekly special, and it was outstanding. The rest of my family ordered the Enchiladas de Oaxaca, Thai Steak & Eggs, and the Oaxaca Mole. The interior adorned with portraits of famous Mexicans exudes vibrancy, complemented by an artist showcasing their artistry. As we settled in, we were treated to samples of their delectable cafe de la olla, a standout among the many I've tried. Opting for a honey lavender latte this time, I was met with a sweet, flavorful concoction, adorned with hearts atop, a testament to their attention to detail. Their selection of small Mexican pastries proved equally delightful. While thoroughly enjoying my experience, I couldn't help but ponder the possibility of expanding their menu to include more Mexican-style breakfast items like chorizo burritos and tortas, aligning seamlessly with the cafe's theme. I ordered the strawberry matcha at this cafe, which looked cute inside. However, my experience was quite disappointing. The drink itself was underwhelming, lacking in flavor and overall appeal. What bothered me most were the additional charges. While it's common for cafes to charge for almond milk, I was surprised to find out there was a $1 fee for having the drink iced. Moreover, the menu didn't mention that cold foam would cost extra either, which felt misleading. As a result, my small drink ended up costing a hefty $9, which felt excessively high. (When the menu says $6 for the strawberry match?) When I received my drink, I noticed a small amount of cold foam on top, barely noticeable. I even thought they had forgotten it until the barista pointed it out. The overall presentation was not what I expected for the price. Unfortunately, this experience left me quite dissatisfied, and I don't plan to return. For a better drink experience, I would recommend trying cafes like World Traveler's, Temple, or Camellia Coffee instead. read more

Best Cafe de la Olla this side of the boarder You have to try the chorizo empanadas with queso Oaxaca. Unfortunately, no food pictures as it didn't survive long enough We had a fantastic experience at this local coffee shop. The ambiance is warm as were the employees and the coffee is top-notch.
