Went in on a Wednesday at 7PM, we were able to get a table for two right away. There is seating indoor and outdoor but the outdoor seating isn't full service I was told only snacks are served outside. We ordered the Vodka all'arrabbiata pizza with pepperoni, the mixed greens, and the olive oil cake all were really good and the limited addition blanc crush white wine it was refreshing! Parking was very limited at the restaurant but there is neighborhood parking. Great service, very welcoming, kind and gave great recommendations on the wine!
There is a reason Bufalina is ranked #7 on Infatuations "Top 25: The Best Restaurants in Austin" Every dish I've tried there is delicious, namely the Caesar salad, the orecchiette pasta, multiple pizzas, and the ice cream coffee. I'd give all of them 5 stars. Small spot but vibe is lively, services is great and food is even better. Most recently I went on a Friday around 6:30 and got sat immediately (party of 2), but the other times we've gone and have had to wait it hasn't been terrible. They offer the option to get a drink while you wait there or you can grab on at lovebirds close by.
A couple friends and I visited Bufalina this week to wrap up a long work week. We decided on the Vodka Arrabiatta pizza w/sausage pizza, Caesar salad (huge), and the pappardelle w/ragu pasta. The salad was very large and we were not able to finish it between the 3 of us. The pizza wasn't my favorite and had a slight bitterness to it so I drizzled it in a bit of honey which helped balance the flavors out a bit. The pasta tasted homemade but the sauce was a bit too acidic for my liking. It took about 20-30 minutes to ultimately get our table (no reservations for our size group), and the overall ambiance was lively and homey. Our server wasn't the most engaging but did check up on us to fill water glasses periodically. It didn't take very long to get our meals which was also a plus. Parking in front of the restaurant was kind of limited around dinner time on a Friday, but I was able to find options in the adjacent neighborhood. While I didn't pay for the meal, my friend who did commented that there were added fees pre-tipping that surprised her (wellness fee? and a patio fee despite us deciding against sitting outside and moving back in). These added a significant amount to the final bill. Overall, Bufalina may be a good choice if you love the pizza, pasta, salad intersection and enjoy eating family style. Went for Friday Happy Hour and were told by friends to get there early before they open at 4pm. Glad we did! We were there at 3:15pm and although we were second in line, by 3:40pm the line was super long. Small place and once seated we were told we would have an hour and a half before we had to give up the table. I understand if you are just lingering, but if you are ordering food (which we did throughout the meal,) it felt like we were being rushed before we even looked at the menu. We had the mushroom pizza and the tomato pie. Loved the thin, NY style crust. The pizzas were very good. The stracciatella was perfect. The happy hour prices are great. We did splurge on the Caesar salad and although it was huge, it was an over sized salad at a price point of $18 ish. It was ok, it wasn't anything over the top but, we did have some to bring home. We split the cheesecake with friends and it also was good but, probably wouldn't get again. It was our first time there so we wanted to try things. Happy hour beer prices are good with the great selection. The staff was pleasant and on the ball. One thing is because it is small, it gets super loud. If you are looking for an intimate date night, I would say this isn't the place for a quiet dinner. But, if you are looking for value, good food and drink, stick to the happy hour menu and it is worth it.
Bufalina Due has the best happy hour in Austin! Half off select bottles of wine and pizza, come here w a group and really get a bang for your buck! We ordered the house red and it was $2 off a glass. I enjoyed it, even as someone who prefers white. I highly recommend ordering both a pizza and pasta so you can have the best of both worlds. Everything is flavorful and cooked perfectly. Come here early! Limited parking and lines start up about 3:30-3:45, for the 4pm happy hour! Our server was excellent. The ambiance is busy and bustling. If you have a hard time hearing, this might not be the best place to catch up, music is loud and everything is concrete so a lot of noise bounces off.
I brought my girlfriend here for our anniversary, and now we're regulars. The pasta and pizza are both incredible. Honestly, this is probably the best pasta I've had in my eight years in the States. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth. We especially appreciate Weily. He's engaging, knowledgeable, and always makes the experience memorable. You truly can't go wrong with anything here. Five stars.
Bufalina has one of the best happy hour and pizza combos in town! They don't take reservations, so I'd recommend arriving early if you want to avoid a long wait. We were there for a special event with Austin Oyster Co., so naturally we ordered oysters and the clam pie. The clam pie was excellent, perfectly salty without being overpowering. We also got the pepperoni pizza, always a classic and even better since the pies are half-off during happy hour. Our bottle of white wine which was also half-off and paired perfectly with the food. They also offer wine by the glass, beer & non-alcoholic options so there's something for everyone. If you're on the east side and hungry, make Bufalina your next meal out you won't regret it!
I'll start with the good. Best neopolitan pizzas in Austin. I am normally a red sauce pizza gal but I took the waitress' recommendation and ordered the lemon prosciutto pizza called Fresca and it was DELICIOUS. As good as pizzas I've had in Italy. The mozzarella, parm and perfectly chewy dough all came together harmoniously with the fresh zing of the lemon oil and arugula. Also got the Margherita with sausage added simply for more protein but next time I would not add sausage as it overpowered the pizza. It was still good though and I could taste the good quality of the ingredients. The ceasar salad is a must get. Perfectly dressed and huge in portion which I loved because I could eat it with my pizza as well as nibble on it as a starter. Food overall was a 5/5 Ambiance however was a 3/5 bc it was SO LOUD inside. The space is cozy and lively but they could really use some kind of improvement in the sound acoustics. It was also slightly warm inside, probably because the pizza oven is heating up the place. The service was also meh--the waitresses all seem like they're in a hurry and look like they do not want to be there.
Might be the best happy hour deal that I've gone to. Half off bottles of wine and pizza. It's a cute intimate space and was pretty full when we got there around 5pm on a Monday. We ordered a bottle of chenin blanc with the help of our server, bread & butter, red pie (add pepperoni), and the mushroom pizza. Everything was done well and had enough food for 2 days of leftovers! Will definitely return for the happy hour.
I'm between 3-4 stars for this place because I loved the pizza but the service was not 4 stars. We loved the mushroom pizza. It was the absolute perfect blend of toppings in my opinion. They serve a Neapolitan-style pizza --perfectly blistered crust, high-quality ingredients, and a menu that knows how to keep things simple and stellar. But the service? It borders on indifferent, and was timed not for our convenience but theirs. I was still chewing my last bite when they cleared the plates and they wiped the table while I was still eating though my partner had finished. You'll get your food, but don't expect warmth or much patience with questions. Still, the pizza is solidly delicious. Come for the pie, not the hospitality.
This is the best pizza I've had in Austin so far! Loved the margherita pizza! My friend and I visited for happy hour on a weekday and the pizza and wine was half off. We shared a margherita pizza and it had the perfect crunch from the woodfired pizza oven. My favorite type of pizza! We tried a bottle of red wine that was slightly chilled, and I really loved it! Especially on a hot Austin day. Service was great although they do try to move you along so the next group can take your table since it's always so busy. We got there right at 4 and there was no wait on a weekday. I was greeted right at the door and the host was so nice and welcoming. I can't wait to go back for full dinner and to try that caesar salad stacked with cheese! 5 stars! They also have a few parking spots right outside.
Best pizza in Austin including happy hour prices ?! It can't be beat. Service is fantastic as always and it's always lovely and lively inside! Strongly recommend
Good and bad here. Went here on a Friday night. The wait was about 1.5 hours for 5 people. We were reassured that they were closing out the party but unfortunately they decided to baby their wine for 45 minutes after they closed their bill so I can't be mad at the establishment, but it's annoying. Our waitress had some pretty bad vibes considering I was pretty happy to be sat after some patron that watched us wait the entire time gave us $40 for drinks (thanks man, you're awesome even though my nephew with me wasn't of age yet). Their wine list was a good selection too. But if it weren't for the fact that all 5 of us felt bad vibes from her, I would've dismissed it. I'd say skip the pasta and pick the pizza here. My prosciutto and arugula pizza was good and had a great cheese pull. Red pie with pepperoni was pretty good, I think the pepperonis themself were actually really great! But somehow the best part was the Caesar salad with a side of anchovies. That is a MUST. But I'm not someone that hopes to go to a pizza place for their salad to be the best part. Their bread and butter was pretty lackluster. Am I itching to come here again? Nah. But I at least had a great salad.

My favorite pizza spot in Austin! Bufalina specializes in Neapolitan-style pizza, known for its soft, thin, chewy crust, puffy charred edge, and simple, fresh toppings--and they do it so well. I've enjoyed every pizza I've ordered here, and I highly recommend stopping by during happy hour for half-off pizzas from 4:00-5:30 p.m., plus discounted glasses of house wine. It's the perfect spot for either a cute, romantic dinner date or a fun gathering with friends. Easily one of my favorite places to come back to in Austin. read more

Placed an order at 10:15 AM to a pickup at 5:00 PM - order was not even started until 5:00. DO NOT order to go. When called they said "sorry, we are behind from Happy Hour"... re read that excuse. An order placed early in the day is delayed due to walk in HH. Not to mention the $14+ to go service charge. Small business- want to support - clearly we will choose another local place moving forward read more

Such a great pizza spot in east Austin! They have a great happy hour and the pizza was delicious! It does get packed pretty quickly and sometimes was hard to get a server's attention. Since the place is a bit on the smaller side, it gets pretty loud inside. Don't skip on dessert because they had an amazing olive oil cake! read more
We went to Bufalina casually on a Thursday and were surprised to get a table without a reservation since they are always so busy. The service was really great and they sat us at a communal table with another party which I thought would be weird but turnt out perfectly fine. We got a pizza to share and their ragu and while the pizza was amazing I was blown away by their ragu. Ugh I still dream about it. So flavorful and so much! Definitely a place to go to for your pizza and pasta itch. read more
Absolutely LOVED bufalina! Can't wait to go back again. I shared a sausage pizza and Cesar salad (with anchovies in it!) both were delicious. Next time I want to try a pasta dish as they all looked so good coming out of the kitchen. Great drink menu as well! Staff was friendly and accommodating! Went to Bufalina for happy hour for the first time and I can't believe I've slept on this deal for so long. Happy hour is from 4 PM to 530 every day of the week. We arrived a few minutes before 4 PM and were among the first few groups to get seated. This is probably the key because the happy hour is so short. All wine bottles below $100 or half off all pizzas are half off which is quite a steal. We ordered the mushroom and the potato pizza and I would definitely get them again. The pizzas are good size and the dough is very fluffy. We also ordered some apps like the stracciatella which was mindblowingly good, had great balance with the tomato jam, cheese and balsamic. The Caesar salad was also amazing, we added the anchovies too. They have a few spots in their parking lot, but there's also street parking too. read more
Mid place for the price point. It was hard making a reservation days prior and the waitress was misleading with availability. We called for a 7pm reservation same day and when we arrived the store was closed for private event. However, inside is very small and well decorated. All the entrees are a $20 -$30. We got beer ($7) and a mushroom pizza ($23). Very filling and shareable. The pasta however is a miss. We got the beef pasta and the portion was small. I'd recommend the pizza and wine over the pasta and beer. read more
Visited Bufalina during their happy hour and was intrigued by the fact that a personal pizza during happy hour was just $9! It came with 6-7 slices. Bufalina, located close to downtown and Ceasar Chavez, is well decorated with a moder touch and the pizza oven is right next to the dining space which looked peculiar. You could literally see them tossing the dough in the air. My order: Red pie Mushroom Pizza House Rose Kolsh beer Loved the Red pie. The base tomato sauce was excellent accompanied by thinly sliced garlic. It came with parmesan and chili flakes so you don't need them as sides. This was my favorite. The mushroom pizza was an opposite with a creamy white sauce with mozarella and troves of caramelized onions and pickles. It depends on who you're, they have a pizza in accordance. Draft beers had $2 off and my beer was just $6. We got to dine at the community table but luckily it was empty until we left. No-brainer to visit this place during a happy hour, which is everyday from 4-5:30PM. The customer service was good and he advised to order us before the clock struck 5:30 to enjoy the happy hour pricing. read more
The good food made up for the painfully long wait... well barely. Long story short we came here spontaneously without a reservation and waited 1.5 hours. So book a reservation!!! Even the service was a bit slow once we got seated. The stracciatella was to die for! I could've ate like 5 orders to myself. Very well made appetizer. My friend and I each got a pasta dish and then shared a pizza. Everything was delicious! They are known for their extensive wine list. I did not drink but my friend got 2 glasses of their orange wine and she said it was pretty decent. It's pretty tight inside especially since the pizza oven and pizza making area overlaps into the dining room. read more
We had such a fun girls dinner here! It is an extremely tiny space so I highly recommend getting a reservation if you can. I have also been for happy hour and they have great deals. The servers here are all so kind and helpful. Plus the food is amazing. We started the night off with the stracciatella and I can't say enough good things about that dish, wow. Why would you put a picture of the RED pizza with the pepperoni if it's not going to come with pepperonis. What a waste of my time honestly. Drove all the way home thinking I ordered a regular pepperoni pizza just sauce and bread. read more

I don't know what happened. Maybe it was an off night. The food was great. Fresh salads topped with superb dressing. Napoleon pizza crust cooked perfectly with crispy edges and gooey insides. Excellent wine list. The food was not the problem. The problem was the service was disappointing and it was so incredibly hot inside. We were sweating. I understand they are using a giant oven but the guests were miserable and sweaty and to boot the service was so slow. When we exited the restaurant other guests were outside making jokes about it and the ladies at the table next to us were also dripping in sweat. It could be better. Please read more

please please please get the caesar salad and add anchovies!!!! it is DELICIOUS and i think one for the best in town. i'm not a big salad eater so this says a lot! also loved the cavatelli pasta! the pizza was good, the toppings were there and great but maybe the dough was a 8/10! but their happy hour is pretty great 4-5:30 with half off pizzas and bottles of wine under $100 so try your luck with getting in and it'll be so worth it! read more

Bufalina has been around a long time but I have never had the chance to try it before, but I am glad I did this time! We came for a friend's birthday, and were lucky enough that they had a spot available (the wait after would've been 30+ minutes for sure). We ordered a few things to share between us: Bread and Butter - The butter was beautifully whipped and the bread was so light and fluffy. A very good starter, I would recommend saving the leftover butter for the pizza crust (or perhaps just ordering the butter on the side if that even is an option. Caesar Salad - one of the best Caesar's I've had in a while. Perfectly tossed, with an abundance of anchovy flavor (which is a must for a Caesar salad). Red Pie Pizza (with Pepperonis) - This one was most recommended. I thought it was great, but I think we should've ordered one without pepperonis (instead of two with). The pepperonis were excellent, but I think they overpowered any of the other flavor. I was really hoping to get more of a double garlic flavor but didn't. Calabrese Pizza - honestly, just a good pizza. I didn't find anything special about this one flavor-wise. Fresca Pizza - Definitely my favorite! Usually I'm not big on pizza without red sauce, but the lemon and arugula really works well on this pizza. I've had similar pizzas to this one before and have always enjoyed it, and this experience was no different from the other times. The space is pretty small and intimate, so I would recommend getting a reservation ahead of time to avoid long wait times (or hope that you get lucky). They also have an incredibly extensive wine menu if you are a wine connoisseur. read more

The portions are super small. The pasta size was more like an appetizer. While I do like the pasta, it doesn't amaze me. Because it was my first time, I asked what the popular pizza was and the server recommended red pie. I didn't really enjoy it and if I weren't sharing, I couldn't bring myself to finish the whole pizza. The pizza is just like sour tomatoes. I wouldn't get it again. The crust is too thin and the burnt parts don't taste very good. I do like the candles on the table. They have parking available. They have happy hour for 1/2 off pizza but even half off the pizza we got is not worth it. I usually like to get dessert at restaurants, but I didn't feel like it was worth trying here. Came in for Sunday HH and arrived just before 5 and was seated just before HH ended. I recommend to those trying to get to HH to get here on the earlier side as it gets really busy. The stand out was the Caesar salad and mushroom Pizza. The salad can easily be split with two people and has a nice lemon note in the dressing. The mushroom pizza was a hit even for those that normally do not like mushrooms in our group. The Margherita pizza was very good as well. Half priced bottles of wine was also another bonus. read more
