I came in here in January because I drove by and needed to get my eyebrows done ASAP for a photo shoot. Absolutely perfect. Couldn't have been happier. My schedule is always crazy and last second, especially between film and modeling jobs, but I need to keep up on getting my face threaded and eyebrows done, and Fida is very accommodating. She even helps me out if I start to break out. I don't know what she uses, but it's like a magic wand. My face has never been clearer. I must say that I'm confused by some of the reviews about waiting for an appointment. Just walk in and say you're here for a waxing, right? Check in for your appointment... if there's a wait, they'll tell you. I go in about every 3 weeks, and I've waited once for maybe 10 minutes. I've also gotten my nails done here. They looked great, and the polish stayed on for a very long time. My nails even got stronger. So why do I keep going here and not any where else? I trust them, especially Fida with my eyebrows. Buff & Tweeze is a reasonably priced nail salon. I am not a regular there, more like a couple times a year. I go more often if I have a lot of special occasions. It's nice for me to be able to call in and make an appointment. They can always tell me who I saw last and if they are available. Some of the clients only go to one individual but I find each manicurist knows what they are doing. My last appointment, I wanted to do one of the designs I found online. I was able to discuss it with the manicurist and she suggested a less 3-D version so it would last longer. I have to pick up boxes and move items for my job so the suggestion was on target for me. I wish I could remember her name but she did a wonderful job and my gel manicure and the design lasted for a month. read more

Long story short..they put the wrong gel color on my nails and told me they couldn't fix it because the nails were already "cured." They then told me they'd just put the right color on top of the wrong color (doesn't make sense because the color I wanted was translucent not solid). Make sure you don't feel rushed! My nails for my engagement looked terrible! I asked for normal gel manicure. Lisa did the gel and was quickly putting my nails into the machine. As soon as I saw them, I realize she hadn't put polish enough to cover the entire nail. So parts of the nail (the top and sides) were bare. She said it was because my nail was oily. This made NO sense because she told me 5 minutes before how dry my nails and hands were plus she just did a manicure on it so it shouldn't be oily. I'm going to Mexico in 4 days and I needed to get my legs waxed. I went on Yelp and searched locations close to me. Buff & Tweeze came up and was the closest. I should have known by the FAKE good reviews that this place was crap. I called and the owner quoted me $ 45.00 for both legs, okay I'll be there at 6:30 which is the time she said she would be available. I'm punctual, I was there by 6:23, I'll wait no big deal. I walked in the door, all of the 3 employees looked at me and didn't say a word, didn't ask why I was there, nothing. I sat down and waited, and waited and waited and waited some more until about 30 minutes passed and my phone battery was dying and Words with Friends was no longer a time passing option. I finally gave one of the employees a look and she finally asked If I was there for a pedicure, I said no I'm here for a wax, she pointed to the back to an open door where a older looking white woman was clearly tweezing someones eyebrows. I'm not quite sure why the door was open while she was in the process of conducting a service that required her to be in a private room, but it all became apparent as I was sitting there waiting and the older woman started yelling at her employees asking what they were doing to keep busy. Nail Salon Nazi! One employee had just finished with a pedicure and the woman in the room yelled at her asking who do you have next, what is it that your doing. Wow! I don't want to give this woman my money, and I hated the fact that no one asked why I was there, and what I was waiting for. Yikes! Had a bikini wax - very painful, but I thought "hey, anyone can have a bad experience, and it was only $30!" I went back 6 weeks later - yikes again! I was so excited to go to this place to get my nails done for a special occasion. I made an appointment weeks in advance since they post such nice pics up on insta. I had an appointment at 4:15 and got there on time they wrapped my nails up in cotton and foil and left me there for an hour and ten minutes. First time coming to this salon, from the beginning interaction with Tom at the front I already knew that this salon has excellent customer service. Walking in you get greeted with hand sanitizer and a temperature check, which is nice to know that they're still coordinating with the city policies. I was referred by my best friend to check out this place and see a nail technician named T. She is absolutely amazing, very precise with her work and is extremely dedicated to make sure your nails are to your liking. I was going to get funny bunny OPI on my nails because I do prefer neutral colors. T decided to recommend a color to me which I am so happy she did because now I'm obsessed!! Came in here recently for a spa mani/pedi. The place is gorgeous, quaint, relaxed, and clean, the girl at the front desk is snobby and acts like she is the one doing you a favor, not the other way around, and the tech that worked on me took almost 2 hours to finish the service and I had someplace to be-very annoying, she was so very slow and I was late to my appointment. My polish had gaps along the sides on some of my fingers and admittedly didn't look well-done when I scrutinized my nails the next day and noticed that one of them had already chipped-no bueno. I came here to get my nails done with my sisters for my cousins wedding. The three of us were to get our nails done very similar (same color just one was to be mat, one shinny, and one with glitter). We showed them a picture from their OWN Instagram account and asked them to copy the exact color. Well...let me just say I am really disappointed with their work. First of all, the lady doing my manicure was on her phone the whole time and disregarding everything I was saying. She kept telling me I know honey . I don't know how many times, my sisters, I or the owners had to explain how we wanted our nails done and how to execute the process correctly. Secondly, she gave me a cut on my arm by dropping the nipper on me. Third, and most annoying is that after the many times we explained it she still messed my nails up. I asked for an ombré fade of glitter and ended up with thick messy glitter lines. I asked her to fix it and her response was don't worry honey I'll fix it...but she didn't and preceded to put the shinny top coat on. At this point I had enough and asked her to stop. But guess what she proceeded and told me to put my hand in the uv dryer. I lost it and sternly and loudly told her no. At this point, Another manicurist had to fix my manicure. Lastly, for the price of $57 dollars, this manicure and pedicure was absolutely the most ridiculous price I have paid for a simple gel manicure and pedicure with horrible service. I wouldn't mind paying this amount if the work was good but it wasn't. I usually go to a smaller nail shop and pay half the price for better work and even better customer service. Oh and guess what just happened while I sit here and wait for my sister to finish her nails...they just told me to get up and move over. This could be inconvenient for last minute emergencies. 2. Not every nail tech is great. I've had my nails cut so short that it hurt for days! 3. Beverly Hills prices smack in the middle of good ol' La Crescenta. Not cool. Not a fan... Save your time and money. I have tried this place once and didn't have a great experience but decided to try it again yesterday. I got gel pedicure and the person who did it seemed very inexperienced and was not great at her job. She was petite with bangs and glasses. My pedicure looked like I got it done at home and it was probably the worst gel pedicure I have ever gotten. To top it off, I went to pay and the manager told me the price for a gel pedicure was $46 and proceeded to tell me Covid has increased the price of his products and therefore he had to increase the prices of service. To say shocked was an understatement. I called a local nail salon in Glendale who does an excellent job quoted me $35. Overall, I was very regretful to even spend $46 on a gel pedicure but to spend it on very bad and ugly pedicure was the worst of it all. Beware if you have an event and want to look good can't promise this place will do the best job as the nail technicians don't seem experienced from my past previous experiences at buff and tweeze. Great decor and great reception/appointment/cashier staff. That's it. Unfortunately the actual nail services fell way below my expectations. The employees doing the nail services do not seem happy about their job at all and seem unpleasant. I am very unhappy with how my nails turned out and will not return. I didn't get my cuticles cleaned up at all. They didn't even attempt to clean the cuticles on each finger and toe. The hand and foot massage was extremely insignificant. My nails (fingers and toes) were cut and filed unevenly. Not only were they not straight, but they weren't the same length as other fingers and toes! I had to ask for 2 of my nails to be cut to match the length of others and when they cut it - they just painted over it and didnt even file it after. Also - they were not smooth since they weren't filed enough. I had a little tear on the side of one of my fingernails. I asked if they could just paint over it to try and save the length otherwise they can cut them all down. Instead, the lady put the acrylic powder on my nail and didn't even shape it after that so that fingernail looks bulbous. Also, that's going to be more of a process and more expensive the next time I get my nails done to remove that! She should have asked me before doing that. Also, the "massage" chairs reclined very well which I liked but their massaging capabilities were poor and weak. The rings they have at the counter were really cute and I bought a couple. 5 hours after wearing one, it was already tarnished and my finger had a greenish brown line -_- Also, we waited 20 minutes to even be seated when we had an appointment and had to wait even longer for them to get started. I also felt it was unprofessional that an older woman was distributing cash tips to the employees while they were in the middle of doing services with clients. read more

I recently went there to get my nails done for Valentine's Day and I just loved how my gel mani turned out by Yen!! It has now been a month since my mani and the gels are still in tact and actually allowing my nails to grow long. There has been no peeling or anything. I am quite impressed. I have been coming here for about 6 months. I've tried a variety of the services offered here. I have had my nails done and pedicures as well. They do a great job - lots of designs and tons of colors to chose from (regular or gel). I recently found out that they offer eyelash extensions. I was soo excited! These are the cluster lashes not the individual. I have yet to try the individual eyelash extensions but I have tried the cluster eyelash extensions twice now. I love them. Tina did such a great job. It only takes about 20 minutes and it's only $45 - they last about 2-3 weeks. I wear eyelashes on a daily basis so this has been such a time saver for me. She has also done my eyebrows and did such a phenomenal job. I hadn't been waxed in years and she cleaned my brows up and refreshed the shape. Ok I'm sure you knew that before I walked in, they could've nicely let me know from the get go, they weren't taking walk-ins at the time. ANNOYING. From other reviews it looks like they tend to be short staffed all the time during the week... I've been here twice. Once for an eyebrow and lip wax. I had absolutely no complaints. I actually thought my eyebrows were a little on the thin side when I left but when I got home I realized they were just right ... I had let them grow too bushy for too long so I wasn't used to seeing them in order! They have maintained well over the last several weeks. I will definitely go back for waxing. Second time was for my nails. I walked in with acrylics on from another salon that were just starting to drive me crazy. (I poked myself in the eye too many times trying to get my contacts out!) At Buff and Tweeze I had my acrylics removed and had a gel manicure. On my accent nail I had then use a magnet to create some wavy lines for nail art. They look beautiful. The polish is impeccable and my cuticles look great - even after all that soaking to remove the acrylics. I found all the staff, of which there were many on a Sunday, to be extremely pleasant. The woman, who I assume was the manager, was really great and helpful. Many of the staff knew the names of customers walking in, which to me is always a great sign. My partner came with me and she also had a pedicure. She loved it and her toes look great. As a final side note, I think its kind of weird that so many of the reviews below talk about how 'slow' the service is. A mani/pedi should be slow! It's supposed to be a detailed relaxing treatment. I hate when someone gives me a 20 minute pedicure. I want to relax and I want someone to take their time with my cuticles and scrubbing my feet! read more

My first time ever getting acrylic nails and I'm so happy with the way they turned out. Jade made sure I was satisfied with them and took her time to perfect them. However I wasn't planning on getting gel and I accidentally chose a gel color, as they are not clearly labeled on the wall. I've been meaning to write a review about this super cute place for awhile!! I don't normally enjoy going to nail salons, but Buff & Tweeze is so absolutely cute, I couldn't resist stopping in when I saw it. I got my nails done by Donna, and she is amazing. She took her time and did a beautiful job. (And this is coming from someone who never gets a manicure/pedicure). Now, for the review of Fida, the lady who waxes. My husband is ALWAYS on me to wax my eyebrows, but I never do it (mostly to drive him crazy and also because I'm terrified of someone waxing/plucking them too thin). I decided to let Fida wax them, and I am so glad I did. She did an amazing job at shaping my brows to align with their natural shape and she kept them nice and thick like I requested. I was really happy and so was my husband. I've been back to her several times, and wouldn't trust anyone else with my brows. I would definitely stop in this place!! AND as an added bonus, there is a starbucks in the same parking lot!! I am very surprised that this place has 3 stars! Totally an unfair judgement! I've been coming here for a couple of years and have always had great experiences. The nail techs all do a good job (for the most part) the staff is friendly, chatty, always in a good mood, and are more than accommodating in terms of appointment times and trying to "fit you in". I have gotten to know the owners who are SUPER friendly and sweet. I love chatting with Tanya, who is always helpful and patient in assisting you to pick out a color or nail design, and she always makes sure you are happy with their work. If you share any details about your life, Fida remembers, and always asks how things are. I love how it feels like I'm visiting family whenever I come here to get my nails done! You have to give this place a chance. I don't think you can judge this place or other nail salons by the negative reviews because some people are impossible to please. BEST NAIL SALON I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. Seriously. This place spoiled me for all other salons. And this is coming from someone who is not a girly-girl. I have been a few times now, and I always come away loving my nails. The salon has a nice open space inside, very clean and organized with a contemporary feel. They have an amazing array of nail polishes, styles, and designs are available. There is plenty of room for friends to sit next to each other while getting mani's and pedi's (make sure to book an appointment ahead of time though, and try for morning openings). The employees are friendly and do their best to make to make you feel comfortable (no condescending looks or charging you for an upgrade you didn't receive). They run an excellent business, and it is obvious that they put a lot of time, care, and effort into making sure their clients leave satisfied. They are meticulous when creating designs (and can ad lib practically anything you want in addition to their more popular designs on display), and make sure everything is perfect. This might be TMI, but one of the women (Rose I think?) "cured" me of a partially ingrown toe nail, and showed me the proper way to cut my toe nails in the future. That alone is worth the 5 star rating for me. Furthermore, their nails last...and last...and last. I usually go 3-4 weeks on one of their gel manis with NO CHIPS or imperfections. I only change it up / remove the polish when my nails have grown out too long. It's some perfect combination of their product and their careful application technique, since even my gel nails have chipped within a week from other places. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I've come to ignore 1 star reviews left on yelp accounts because they're left by people with such a sense of entitlement that nothing could ever be good enough for them. With that said, I love this place. I've been coming here since it opened and I've never had a reason to go elsewhere. Yeah it's a busy salon (rightfully so) so you can't expect them to accommodate all walk-ins but how "emergency" could a nail appointment be? Suck it up for a day and come back with an appointment. 1. I made an appointment for 2 pedicures and my boyfriend and I sat there with our feet soaking for 20 minutes, watching them take 2 people who walked in after us. 10 minutes into our appointment we asked for the estimated time of when we would be seen, and the receptionist said 5 minutes.
