Located in the alley behind the downtown ice skating rink (when it's set up) Bumble Bear Coffee isn't the easiest place to find. Well BBC is well worth finding. There are several interesting drinks on the menu making it fun to come back. I tried the Monkey Mocha iced. Chocolate and banana combined with coffee is a delicious hard to find combo. Oddly enough BBC has a lunch special offering 2 tamales Or croissant sandwich with a drink for $15. I wasn't expecting much since this was a coffee shop but OMG! The tamales were off da hook delicious! The masa was so flavorful I could have eaten it by itself. My friend and I both agreed to come back soon lol. Bumble Bear not only serves great drinks and food they also serve a under served cause. Donations go to homicide survivors support groups. A great business with a great cause please come support them.

Stopped in this morning after attending a yelp elite event a few months ago! I could barely get in because the line was so long. It took awhile to order! I ended up getting a dirty chai and a pastry and it was $15 something! I thought that was fair! The man working did ask me if I was a state employee and I said no, but I do work in education! The pastry was a cream cheese danish that was light fluffy and so good! The dirty chai is okay. Truthfully nothing super special about it. I believe they might have a reward program because I saw the woman giving stamps out to other people. A little disappointed I was never given one or asked. I was taking a lot of pictures... yelping... duh and the man in the window look terrified which made me laugh! 7.50/10! Not a bad experience but I thought it could have been better. I like to use my money to support people who have excellent customer service and also those whose money goes to a good cause! I will say the reason I'm drawn to this place is it's in the alley and really gives me NYC and Chicago vibes!

We were heading to lunch and saw this cute coffee shop so we stopped by afterwards to try out their drinks. It's such a cute spot, parking may be hard to find but if you're able to give them a try you won't be disappointed. Service is quick and friendly. I got their iced Bumble Bear coffee and my son got their iced Monkey Mocha. We both loved our drinks. His is like a banana laffy taffy and I love anything with cinnamon. Great coffee!

The staff here are amazing! So so sweet and carefree. I was so impressed with their positive attitudes and cheery personalities. The decor here is absolutely adorable! Eclectic choices that all generally fall under the category of "cute". Fresh plants decorate the space too. There are two couches and four seats at the bar facing the window/street. There is a small coffee table inside too with two seats. There are also three small patio tables on the sidewalk with an umbrella for shade. This place is located in the alley very close to DOCO and could be easily overlooked. Also, someone here has really good music taste - late 90s/early 2000s pop and R&B. Food offerings: - I was recommended a "Paula Special". Apparently, a unique creation by the owner, Paula. It was sweet and creamy, and so refreshing for a hot summer day. A latte of some sort and excellent flavor! Not incredibly unique, but definitely good. State workers get 10% off and law enforcement get 50%!

Came to get coffee after I attended a yelp elite event here. My sister was raving about her latte and I had to go and get it ! The signature bumble bear iced latte was delicious and I can't wait to try others. The location offers woman made products that I can get behind ! Although it is hard to get to the location if you aren't already parked ( located in an ally) I would visit if you're in the area

Super friendly staff and great service! Cute little coffee shop near the State Capitol. Their pastries and coffee were delicious. I'd recommend trying the kouign amann if you've never tried one before. It's butter, sweet and a bit flaky and you'll love every bite of it! Wonderful way to start your morning.

Vero Gigantica!! Por Favor! SITREP I was in the mood for a spicy mocha this recent morning, and a little bird told me that Bumble Bear Coffee was the place to go! And seeing how I was already trooping through the DOCO (Downtown Commons) Outdoor Mall, I didn't have far to go! Their iconic emblem is quite unique, and DOES in fact conjure up some genetic experiment gone awry, with a BumbleBear gruffly protecting the establishment on the outer window. THE SETUP Bumble Bear is right on a recently renamed alley called Merchant St. Right across from a parking garage, and down the alley from the 24 HR gym I workout at. And yet, I've never walked down this alley before, so this was a pleasant first (once I got my "bear"ings (cough). EL MENU Their Mexican mocha - called "Vero" - was at the top of my mind and so I got the gigantica (large ;) ). Oh so tasty! It is offered both HOT or COLD (but why would I want to get it watered down as the ice melts in a few minutes?). At only $5, it was quite the steal! A deLISH steal at that! And thanks to the team of Brianna, Ryan and the charming owner for attending to me! THE LOWDOWN Check out Bumble Bear and tell them Michelangelo sent you! :D

I stopped by Bumble Bear Coffee on a Sunday morning, just after they opened. It's tucked away in a side alley in DOCO, accessible from Seventh or Eighth Street. Thankfully, since it was Sunday, I easily found street parking , which is always a plus in downtown Sacramento! The shop itself is super cute and cozy, with a welcoming atmosphere. There were two staff members working, and both were friendly. I ordered a Berry Cheese Danish and an Iced Cookie Butter Latte with oat milk. The danish was delicious; I can only imagine how amazing it would have been warmed up! The latte, however, was just okay. I was hoping for a bit more sweetness to bring out that cookie butter flavor. This is a great spot to hang out or get some work done. They have a couple of couches and high-top chairs that offer a nice view of the outside. As others have mentioned, your money goes toward a great cause, which is evident in the coffee shop's mission and decor. Overall, I'd come back to try more drinks and would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a solid coffee shop in downtown Sacramento!

The inspiration for it all! A young lady of 29. A murder victim for who all this inspired!
    Kristal C.

Walked in here and got a New York vibe with the white little tiles on the floor. There is a structural pillar next to the counter with pictures of young ladies on it. Going up to the counter the owner asks if I would like to hear the popular drinks. I select the Bumble Bear Latte. It is yummy and they do offer milk alternatives, oat milk, almond milk, and soy milk. I also get the blueberry lemon loaf, very yummy, and the loaf is a good size too. So you may ask why the 5 stars when the drink and loaf are 4 stars? It is because of their cause. This coffee shop manifested because the owner's niece was murdered. The owner works with the mayor and raises awareness for murder victims. The other young women's pictures on the pillar are murder victims as well in Sacramento. The owner is raising awareness to help change policy to protect the people of Sacramento. If you consider yourself a feminist come here for your downtown coffee fix! This shop is a Women Owned coffee shop and these ladies are raising awareness for an honorable cause. Love everything behind this shop!

When you see the axolotl mural you'll know you're in the right place. Right next to the 8th & K St. light rail station.

This cute coffee spot is in an alley. It's right next to the 8th and K light rail station. It's a block away from DOCO/Golden 1 Arena. There is no parking on 8th Street, but there is limited parking in the alley (it is a one-way alley, to enter you must turn left of 7th onto Merchant St). There is some street parking on 7th Street, and there's also the DOCO East Parking lot. The coffee spot is small but warm and welcoming. I ordered the Michelle (espresso, blended caramel, milk, ice). It was delicious; it was flavorful and sweet. It's a great hidden spot that's central to everything Downtown. When you see the axolotl mural you'll know you're in the right place.

My cousin and I ran into their coffee bike on a walk. They had iced coffee with syrups. I was so happy we ran into them. I visited their location with one of my mentees once. I loved their cute coffee location. It was cozy and looking forward to returning.

This absolute gem of a cafe is tucked away just off of J street downtown, and I hope people don't pass it up! It's one of the coziest little spots I've been to downtown, and the coffee is delicious! I will say that for people used to obnoxiously loud coffee shops like Starbucks, the quiet stillness of this place could seem odd, but we loved it on a Saturday morning to start our weekend. I don't know why it's taken me this long to try coffee with honey, but what a combo! We got both an iced and a hot Bumble Bear, their signature drink, and it was heavenly. I appreciate that decaf was an option, as some coffee shops don't carry it due to being less popular. The cookie butter latte was much less sweet, but with a lovely buttery flavor. This was our favorite out of the two, but the Bumble Bear latte was still good if you're craving something sweeter. The toasted plain bagel I got was tasty on its own, but it's a shame they were out of cream cheese. They had a very slim selection of food in general - and we were their first customers of the day. In fact, they seemed to be out of a lot of things, sadly. A couple after us wanted to order an Italian soda but couldn't. Then when I went to order a cookie butter latte to go, they had to check if they had the ingredients for that as well. They said they did, then realized they were out of 2% milk. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating, but being out of basic ingredients at opening is strange, and the only reason I can't in good conscience give this place 5 stars. Hopefully it was just a one-off issue!

The banana flavor paired surprisingly well with the matcha and made for a really refreshing drink. It was one of those drinks that I immediately knew I'd order again. But honestly, the highlight wasn't even the drink itself. It was the adorable little elephant vessel it came with. They put dry ice inside and then pour water into it, making it look like the elephant is blowing smoke out of its trunk. My daughter was completely mesmerized. Watching her reaction was worth the visit all by itself. What I loved most was that it wasn't just a gimmick. The drink was actually good, and the elephant made such a cute keepsake afterward. It felt like getting both a treat and a souvenir. The café itself had a fun atmosphere, and it was one of those places that felt a little different from your typical coffee or tea stop. Helpful tip: If it's your first visit, order one of the drinks served in the elephant. The presentation alone is worth it, especially if you're visiting with kids. Between the banana matcha and my daughter's excitement over the smoking elephant, this ended up being one of those unexpectedly memorable stops we'll be talking about for a while.

I walk up to the counter and asked for the Mango Sticky Rice and the guy who helped me, idk what his name is had an attitude and was like we're out of it. I'm thinking to myself, sooo if you KNOW you're of something that's popular and on the menu, maybe you should put a sign somewhere stating that it's currently NOT AVAILABLE. Then I had to call back home to let my siblings know that the initial drink they wanted was not available, so they can choose something else and again the guy taking the order wad annoyed. My siblings decided upon the Mangonada with brown sugar boba and the iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha. Unfortunately, brown sugar boba was not available was all out for the day according to the cashier.. but no sign stating that they were sold out. I had to call my siblings again to let them know and ask if they wanted crystal boba as a replacement. To keep the order going while I was calling them, I asked for a mochi waffle and the guy threw his hands up annoyed and was like do you not want the boba for drink? I told the cashier I'll have the crystal boba instead of the brown sugar since it's currently unavailable, and the guy goes with an attitude... soo do you want the crystal boba? I said yess...yes I do. The Iced Dubai Chocolate Matcha was alrightt. It is definitely not all that it is hyped up to be. The drink IMO was just a basic iced matcha with chocolate drizzle on the side of the cup and the pistachio foam that barely tasted like pistachio.

Would recommend 3) Coconut coffee -this is a blended ice drink -I typically like coconut Vietnamese coffee, however this wasn't the best variation I have as I did wish it was a little sweeter 4) Taro coffee -rather than a cream top like some of their other drinks, this was more of taro paste with bits in the Vietnamese coffee -it wasn't too sweet so had a stronger coffee taste Tea bases: -was told they seep their tea for about 8 hours to give it that strong flavor ! -green tea - usually not a green tea person when it comes to boba drinks (only by itself) since at times the fruit flavor over mask the tea but this place makes it potent -black tea - they say this one it not popular which is a bummer cause I love black tea -herbal tea- good flavor -jasmine - didn't get to try this tea base but I am sure it taste just as good as the others 1) Peach green tea -beyond refreshing! -loved the fruit bits and peach sliced in the drink 2) Lychee green tea -lychee fruit and lychee jelly included! -Loved the strong tea taste with the fruitiness Pandan waffle Durian waffle -both of these were delicious, good flavor and best right away while it is hot! Overall: One of the best Vietnamese coffee places in the area that I enjoy going to. Quality drinks that do not disappoint.

Looking to try another place that I have had bookmarked for quite some time, I'm made my way to Ca…read morePhe Phin to grab my morning coffee. Located in an inconspicuous strip mall, I was warmly greeted with a friendly "hello" and a bright smile. I decided to switch things up, and I actually ordered a strawberry iced Matcha latte. Hands-down, this was one of the best Matcha lattes I have had in a long time and the strawberry added a nice twist. The service was fast and extremely friendly and the prices were fair. There was ample parking and if you are a fan of Vietnamese coffee I would highly recommend checking this place out.
