Bumble Bear Coffee recently started having a pop up coffee cart in the building I work in, and it's been such a convenient addition to have right in the lobby when you need a quick pick-me-up. Their pop-up menu includes a solid selection of the drinks they offer at their storefront, along with some food options like sandwiches, pastries, and even tamales, which is a nice touch. Drinks come in one size (12 oz), and pricing is pretty decent for the quality and convenience. I kinda wish they offered different sizes for the drinks. I tried the matcha latte with regular milk. It was okay, but I've had better matcha elsewhere, so next time I'll probably try one of their specialty drinks instead since those seem to be what they're known for. I think I'm going to try the Bumble Bear Latte next time since it seems like it is a fan favorite based on other Yelp reviews! I also really appreciate that they offer discounts for state employees who work in the building. Overall, I'm glad Bumble Bear Coffee has a pop-up coffee cart where I work. I previously had the opportunity to Bumble Bear coffee, located in Downtown Sac, via an event hosted by Yelp. There are a decent amount of drink options, but I tend to veer away from syrups/sauces in my coffee. Having tried the Bumble Bear before, I opted to just have a plain iced latte on my most recent visit. Friendly, quick service. It's a small shop, so there's not a lot of seating, but they optimize the small amount of square footage they do have. A great option for coffee among the many options nearby. read more

Located in the alley behind the downtown ice skating rink (when it's set up) Bumble Bear Coffee isn't the easiest place to find. Well BBC is well worth finding. There are several interesting drinks on the menu making it fun to come back. I tried the Monkey Mocha iced. Chocolate and banana combined with coffee is a delicious hard to find combo. Oddly enough BBC has a lunch special offering 2 tamales Or croissant sandwich with a drink for $15. I wasn't expecting much since this was a coffee shop but OMG! The tamales were off da hook delicious! The masa was so flavorful I could have eaten it by itself. My friend and I both agreed to come back soon lol. Stopped in this morning after attending a yelp elite event a few months ago! I could barely get in because the line was so long. It took awhile to order! I ended up getting a dirty chai and a pastry and it was $15 something! I thought that was fair! The man working did ask me if I was a state employee and I said no, but I do work in education! The pastry was a cream cheese danish that was light fluffy and so good! The dirty chai is okay. Truthfully nothing super special about it. I believe they might have a reward program because I saw the woman giving stamps out to other people. A little disappointed I was never given one or asked. I was taking a lot of pictures... yelping... duh and the man in the window look terrified which made me laugh! 7.50/10! Not a bad experience but I thought it could have been better. I like to use my money to support people who have excellent customer service and also those whose money goes to a good cause! We were heading to lunch and saw this cute coffee shop so we stopped by afterwards to try out their drinks. It's such a cute spot, parking may be hard to find but if you're able to give them a try you won't be disappointed. Service is quick and friendly. The staff here are amazing! So so sweet and carefree. I was so impressed with their positive attitudes and cheery personalities. The decor here is absolutely adorable! Eclectic choices that all generally fall under the category of "cute". Fresh plants decorate the space too. There are two couches and four seats at the bar facing the window/street. There is a small coffee table inside too with two seats. There are also three small patio tables on the sidewalk with an umbrella for shade. This place is located in the alley very close to DOCO and could be easily overlooked. Also, someone here has really good music taste - late 90s/early 2000s pop and R&B. Food offerings: - I was recommended a "Paula Special". Apparently, a unique creation by the owner, Paula. It was sweet and creamy, and so refreshing for a hot summer day. Vero Gigantica!! Por Favor! SITREP I was in the mood for a spicy mocha this recent morning, and a little bird told me that Bumble Bear Coffee was the place to go! And seeing how I was already trooping through the DOCO (Downtown Commons) Outdoor Mall, I didn't have far to go! Their iconic emblem is quite unique, and DOES in fact conjure up some genetic experiment gone awry, with a BumbleBear gruffly protecting the establishment on the outer window. THE SETUP Bumble Bear is right on a recently renamed alley called Merchant St. Right across from a parking garage, and down the alley from the 24 HR gym I workout at. And yet, I've never walked down this alley before, so this was a pleasant first (once I got my "bear"ings (cough). EL MENU Their Mexican mocha - called "Vero" - was at the top of my mind and so I got the gigantica (large ;) ). Oh so tasty! I stopped by Bumble Bear Coffee on a Sunday morning, just after they opened. It's tucked away in a side alley in DOCO, accessible from Seventh or Eighth Street. Thankfully, since it was Sunday, I easily found street parking , which is always a plus in downtown Sacramento! The shop itself is super cute and cozy, with a welcoming atmosphere. There were two staff members working, and both were friendly. I ordered a Berry Cheese Danish and an Iced Cookie Butter Latte with oat milk. The danish was delicious; I can only imagine how amazing it would have been warmed up! The latte, however, was just okay. I was hoping for a bit more sweetness to bring out that cookie butter flavor. This is a great spot to hang out or get some work done. They have a couple of couches and high-top chairs that offer a nice view of the outside. As others have mentioned, your money goes toward a great cause, which is evident in the coffee shop's mission and decor. Walked in here and got a New York vibe with the white little tiles on the floor. There is a structural pillar next to the counter with pictures of young ladies on it. Going up to the counter the owner asks if I would like to hear the popular drinks. I select the Bumble Bear Latte. It is yummy and they do offer milk alternatives, oat milk, almond milk, and soy milk. I also get the blueberry lemon loaf, very yummy, and the loaf is a good size too. So you may ask why the 5 stars when the drink and loaf are 4 stars? It is because of their cause. This coffee shop manifested because the owner's niece was murdered. The owner works with the mayor and raises awareness for murder victims. The other young women's pictures on the pillar are murder victims as well in Sacramento. The owner is raising awareness to help change policy to protect the people of Sacramento. If you consider yourself a feminist come here for your downtown coffee fix! This cute coffee spot is in an alley. It's right next to the 8th and K light rail station. It's a block away from DOCO/Golden 1 Arena. There is no parking on 8th Street, but there is limited parking in the alley (it is a one-way alley, to enter you must turn left of 7th onto Merchant St). There is some street parking on 7th Street, and there's also the DOCO East Parking lot. The coffee spot is small but warm and welcoming. I ordered the Michelle (espresso, blended caramel, milk, ice). This absolute gem of a cafe is tucked away just off of J street downtown, and I hope people don't pass it up! It's one of the coziest little spots I've been to downtown, and the coffee is delicious! I will say that for people used to obnoxiously loud coffee shops like Starbucks, the quiet stillness of this place could seem odd, but we loved it on a Saturday morning to start our weekend. I don't know why it's taken me this long to try coffee with honey, but what a combo! We got both an iced and a hot Bumble Bear, their signature drink, and it was heavenly. I appreciate that decaf was an option, as some coffee shops don't carry it due to being less popular. The cookie butter latte was much less sweet, but with a lovely buttery flavor. This was our favorite out of the two, but the Bumble Bear latte was still good if you're craving something sweeter. The toasted plain bagel I got was tasty on its own, but it's a shame they were out of cream cheese. They had a very slim selection of food in general - and we were their first customers of the day. In fact, they seemed to be out of a lot of things, sadly. A couple after us wanted to order an Italian soda but couldn't. Then when I went to order a cookie butter latte to go, they had to check if they had the ingredients for that as well. They said they did, then realized they were out of 2% milk. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating, but being out of basic ingredients at opening is strange, and the only reason I can't in good conscience give this place 5 stars. Dropped by Bumble Bear for me and my coworker's afternoon walk from the office and it was so cute! Not being a coffee fan, I ordered their hot chocolate and loved it. It was just $3.75 for a 16oz which I thought was a great price compared to other cafes. I also loved they had a good variety of drinks overall, not just your basic drinks. The cutest and coziest coffee shop I have been to in a while! Right when I walked in I felt the warm ambience. One of the co-owner who helped us was super welcoming and friendly. She shared a little about their mission and what they stand for. Through their coffee shop they are raining awareness about the impacts of violence , serving as a resource for families and victims of violent crimes. For the coffee, I ordered one of their Valentine's Day specials, Rebound Mocha for myself and the Bumble Bear Latte for my boyfriend. The rebound was so unique, a banana chocolate mocha with banana whipped cream. I personally would have preferred this a smaller portion because it could get too sweet for me after a while but it was still amazing and I would order again when I'm craving a sweet coffee. The Bumble Bear Latte was the perfect everyday coffee when you're not in the mood for sweet coffee. They also sell HalfBaked cookies and of my goodness! They are delicious, the cookies were delivered that same day so I got a super soft and gooey chocolate chip with walnut cookie. 10/10 Coffee for a cause makes it much more meaningful. Stopped by here yesterday morning for some caffeine! They're super close to DOCO and right next to the ice rink. Parking can be tricky if it's a busy day but we came on a weekday and parked just steps away. It's a small little shop but they made great use of the space. The lady working was so personable and made us feel comfortable like we were longtime regular customers. We ordered the Bumble Bear Latte and the Letty. They have alternative milks available as well, but they're not listed on the menu so I'm not sure if they cost extra here. The hot Bumble Bear Latte definitely had the cinnamon flavor but I wish it had more honey flavor, I would try it iced next time! I picked the Letty for the holiday feel of the peppermint but unfortunately just didn't taste any peppermint at all! But it was a yummy and creamy mocha. Still giving 5 stars since they're in soft opening and it wasn't a terrible experience at all, just some things to adjust in the recipes! I love the fun colors of the exterior and the cute logo. Bumble Bear is near DOCO down a side street across from the 24 hour fitness. It was a little hard to find, and unfortunately there was some construction right next door to them, so the side walk cut off early. They have a cute little outdoor seating area, however, with a few cafe tables decorated with flowers. The cafe is very cozy and cutely decorated. There are a couple of window seats and a living room type seating area with a cushy velvet couch and some arm chairs. I think the service was excellent. The barista helped guide me through the menu and asked what level of sweetness I prefer. I got the Bumble Bear latte for my husband (slightly less sweet) and The Vero (their version of a Mexican Mocha) for myself. Both drinks were tasty, and satisfied our coffee cravings. I feel like the Vero seemed closer to a regular mocha than a Mexican mocha, but I still enjoyed it. It's a little bit of a tough location to get to, so I don't see myself coming back here often. However, I think it's a great option for folks who work downtown and want to try an independent coffee shop and take a break from the local and national chain coffee shops. It has a very meaningful backstory too, as the shop is named after the owner's late daughter whose nickname was "Bumble Bear." read more

I visited with one of my friends yesterday and we were able to take part in the tamale lunch plate. I had the chicken and my friend had the pork. Both were delicious, awesome partnership! With the lunches, we had the watermelon lemonade and the peach mint tea. My watermelon lemonade was outstanding! I don't prefer mint but my friend said that drink was tasty also. I love the lobby/seating area. It's very nice and comfortable. And I love that this is a woman owned business! This was my first time going to this coffee shop as it was a women's yelp event. I love supporting women, and especially when it's for a cause. I got a chance to meet the owners Paula and Cheryl early Friday morning and they were the sweetest! I got one of the recommended drinks, the Michelle, and it was delicious. I'm so glad I got to check out the place. Its decor was super cute and they carry delicious cookies and other desserts as well. My only wish is that it was BIGGER! A cute family owned coffee shop within walkin distance of k street with a welcoming vibe. At first the gps took me to k street or i just completely missed the turn so i ended up parking a the old grey house alley and walking over. The store had nice outdoor seating and couches along with stools at the window inside! This place is special as it is a tribute to those who have passed and they want to speak awareness as well as continue to let those live on in family and friends hearts! It's located in the alleyway near Kst behind Beach Hut Deli. It's hard to find and located on a one way street. They have wonderful art out front giving the place curb appeal and a landmark to find the entrance. The inside gives comfortable, relaxing, and earthy vibes. It's small but enough room to enjoy your favorite book, meet two friends for coffee, or take your partner on a coffee date. The customer service is EXCEPTIONAL!!! They treat everyone with respect. I had the pleasure of witnessing Chelle one of the co-owner make coffee for an individual who looked unhoused. She treated the individual with great dignity. The individual shared his love for their coffee and banana bread. He said I come here atleast 3x a week. I treated him to a banana bread as he shared his insight on Bumble Coffee. He loves the place and I could see why. Chelle made time to shared the history of Bumble Bear Coffee and how they support the community. I love their story and how they use their space to recognize those lost and give resources to help those in need. The coffee is amazing. I really enjoyed my experience at Bumble Bear Coffee. The baristas were very kind and helpful! The inside of the coffee shop is very homey with couches and a coffee table. They had a tarot deck, which I thought was interesting and fun. My main feedback would be for them to play music, it was very quiet in there.
