It was missing the liver Pate and I'm not sure if customizing a sandwich is allowed. Next time all ask if I can add it? The pho broth was good and not too oily, but the brisket was a little tough. Used to go to have Bahn mis in O.C. frequently, but since Covid not so much. Was really excited to see this place with decent reviews, but was hugely disappointed. Everything was extremely flavorless. Their grilled pork bahn mi was flavorless and was overcooked/hard. It didn't have the smokey/grilled flavor that the pork is supposed to have. The sandwich itself was also lacking flavor. Pâté was non existent. The "pickled" veggies on top NOT pickled. Was wet as if it were, but no flavor just like the whole sandwich. Also got some rice and a side of broth. The rice was hard and old. The spring roll also had no flavor whatsoever. Their spring roll sauce was super watered down and surprise tasted like nothing. Very disappointed. I ordered the lemongrass grilled chicken bahn mi, egg rolls and a Vietnamese boba coffee. The sandwich was bland and missing flavor and sauce. It wasn't authentic tasting at all. The egg rolls were huge but not authentic tasting at all and burned on one side. The boba was under cooked. Hard pieces inside the balls. I would suggest getting authentic sandwiches from somewhere like Pho 999 or another Vietnamese restaurant. read more

This was my go to spot during college (CSUN). I basically love everything on the menu. Love their brisket pho, spring rolls, and their rice plates. Nice n hot, big bowl of soup filled with broccoli, carrots, bok choy, mushrooms, rice noodles with bean sprouts, basil, jalapeño slice, and lime on the side. I added the sprouts and tore up the basil and added that too along with the jalapeño slice and a squirt of lime. Very clean tasting and light. Veggies were fresh, cooked with still a little bite...perfect! No mushy over cooked veggies here! I would get this again for sure! I am interested in trying their chicken pho and maybe the beef stew too. The lady behind the counter that takes our orders is nice and hard working. LOVE, LOVE THIS PLACE!!! From their delicious food to their great service this is a 5 stars+ business. Their food especially their bahn mi, salads and spicy bun bo hue soup are off the chains!!! I would usually order from this establishment when I wanted something tasty and not the bland lunch I had packed from home lol I have also dined at the restaurant and very often I order take out for dinner. During my last visit, I actually left my cc behind and the staff there even ran out to try to catch up to me. I obviously didn't realize it until I was halfway back home and the staff called my cell to inform me. That to me spoke volumes of their service and ethics. Came back again! My husband and I shared a bun mi and their bun bo hue and a mango green tea. The BBH definitely caters to an Americanized palate but I think that's necessary based on where they're located. The tea was refreshing and sweet and went well with the slight spice of the BBH. Disappointing... Small restaurant with only two tables outside. I've been here awhile ago and their Vietnamese sandwiches were okay so I gave them another shot. I ordered the 2 item beef pho soup with brisket and rare steak. Wow.. their pho portion is TINY. I've never had a pho bowl so small before. The meat was meh and the soup had no flavor. I am not eating their pho here again. Go to Pho 999 or Pho So 1 for much better tasting pho. I also ordered 2 Vietnamese sandwiches - Bun Me Deli Special (pate, pork roll, and char siu pork) and Grilled Pork. The sandwiches were better than the pho but still average at best. After having authentic and delicious Vietnamese sandwiches in San Jose, Bun Me's sandwiches are definitely inferior. I would only come here if I were craving Vietnamese sandwiches and you don't want to drive far. Otherwise, there are plentyyy of other foods to eat here in the valley. read more

As a disclaimer I am of the opinion that the bahn mi is possibly the greatest food ever designed, so this shouldn't be that surprising. Bun me is great man, simple as. Fantastic sandwich, great lunch portions and great prices. I've had the caramelized pork (monthly special) and the regular grilled pork, 5 stars both times. Great balance of the sweet and savory, and on the grilled pork you can taste the slight smoke from the grill flavor that makes the grill worth it. Great pickled veggies too and just the right level of jalapenos in there. Finally the bun? fantastic. the baguette makes the bahn mi and they use great ones. Whole sandwich was only $7.25 too. Cheaper than subway. Usually i don't get a drink with my meal to save some scratch but man prices that low and of course I'm going to get a viet coffee, which was also excellent. The thai iced tea was a little better than the coffee but there's not a bad card in this deck. Only downside of this place is that its clearly a lunch place and is a little small but if they had a full dinning room I'd probably go to that too. Great for take out though. read more

However, the sandwiches here aren't bad. The bread is nice and fresh, not too heavy so healthier than other banh mi places. They give plenty of veggies and meat. Service was wonderful. The daikon isn't quite pickled, and the Mayo and pate are pretty non existent in the sandwich. Still, better than getting sandwich at subway and friends. The meat selections are more accommodating than the traditional deli meat with Pate. Pho is very mediocre here in comparison to a Pho Restaurant. Prices are somewhat higher given geographical and demographics considerations. Service is speedy and prompt - my experience has primarily been online orders, which has always been ready by my selected times. Definitely had a good experience here after reading multiple glowing reviews. It was a lunch car date considering there was no outdoor dining at all- no problem these days as I'm being quite a pro! The order was fulfilled in good time and prices were reasonable. My order included a Steak Bahn Mi (or should I say "Bun Me") and Summer Rolls w/Steak (These weren't on the menu but were no problem for them to make up). Presentation was good. The Steak was plentiful and so tasty- definitely some of the best I've had in LA thus far. The accompanying vegetables were great. I moved onto the Summer Rolls which were a bit disappointing in flavor; even whilst having that flavorsome Beef in them. My amateur analysis is that the veges didn't have that pickled flavor to add so the overwhelming taste for me was lettuce .... Maybe the Rolls were missing some of the stronger uniquely Vietnamese flavors that are usually present. Nevertheless, that's why one star is missing for me. The accompanying Peanut dipping sauce was very good. Definitely will be back for a "Bun Me" but will probably give the Summer Rolls a miss. read more

They serve one of the most amazing and fresh Viet food. I have tried most of the dishes on the menu, and they hit the spot every single time. My colleagues and I usually order Door Dash delivery, and despite the travel time, the deep fried egg rolls always arrive so crispy! I also love the spring rolls, which is packed with fresh vegetables, rice noodles, and shrimps. Their peanut hoisin dipping sauce is on point, not too sweet or salty. On chilly days, my go to orders is Bun Bo Hue and Beef Brisket Pho. It is always nicely packed with the vegetables on the side. The broth always arrives hot. I never have to reheat the broth prior to eating. The broth is flavorful, not fatty or oily. And of course they are known for their bun me. I love the Bun Me Deli Special. It is packed with cold cut, homemade pate, and fresh vegetables and pickles. All the ingredients taste so fresh and delicious. I also enjoy grilled chicken, grilled pork, and tofu mushroom bun me as well. They have good vegetarian options including veggie spring rolls, bun me, and even rice noodle soup! I asked for my money back and the lady starts lying to me. She says, the orders were place online.
