I stopped by this pho place yesterday to grab lunch after I saw they closed the freeway to move some heavy equipment. I been to this place before but only got to go, I got their bun MI and spring rolls. This time since I was here, I decided to get their pho. I got the #1 pho which is the combination beef pho. I was the only one in the restaurant so I had the place all to myself and got to pick where I wanted to sit. The lady working was very nice and ate attentive to me. My pho came out quick and I finish it quick, my waitress even said "don't already" lol. It's a decent size bowl with a good amount of beef in the pho and noodles. The price is more on the higher end but I think it's because it's in this plaza and they have to compete with other business. Oh man...I love Banh Mi and when I saw they had it. I ordered it for dine in & oh man Was I disappointed :( ( note: Ive had a lot of Banh Mi ) but let's start off....The bread was stale not warmed just thick stale bread if your latino it had that Vaillarta two days old taste bread and it had very little meat that was the other upset...little to no meat . Save ur money go to valley Sandwich on sherman way and reseda way better and delicious and for the pho....a bit watered down. Want good pho go to pho 999 down reseda. The good is fast, fresh and tasty. Every time I visit, I find the crew is always helpful and they adjust the menu to fit diet (can't eat tomatoes)! I was disappointed with my experience with our server Anu. The food was decent, but the overall service made the visit uncomfortable. Anu seemed rushed while taking our order and at checkout she wasn't anywhere to be found. The parking lot is a mess and the two spaces for customer parking the employees park there. The staff is great. Everybody was very sweet and attentive. The place is clean and calm, though a bit sterile. The food and pricing was okay. Their pho broth is very mild. I was impressed that they also had a vegan option. The beef vermicelli salad wasn't great. It was on the bland side and primarily lettuce. The spring rolls were also mostly lettuce. Come by every now and then and have always loved the vibe here. Service is really good too Usually order a chicken pho and some spring rolls, this time ordered chicken fried rice as well. I do wish they had variety in the spring rolls like beef and pork instead of just shrimp but they are still good. The chicken pho is tasty in my opinion but I do feel like the fried rice could use a bit more flavor. If you are looking for very authentic Viet taste this is probably not the option for you, but if you want a light clean meal that tastes good I'd recommend. read more

Honesty this places pho isn't too bad, but what really gets me is the service. I went with a group of friends and we were going to split this pho when the server said we each had to get an item. At first we didn't know what to do so we had to comply and honesty she was just being so overall disrespectful. The food was good, but the tone set by her attitude really ticked me off. The place was cutely decorated inside with a modern look and two large sized colorful posters caught the attention of my mom and I when we were walking down looking at the windows. The Pho broth wasn't flavorful at all. I hope they will improve the flavor here. The meat was chewy and tender (I got the rare steak) which is nice. However for the Large size, it did not feel like the quantity of a large size, it felt like a regular size. We were excited because the interior is cute and everything looked clean and new. I went there to order to go....I wish I would have gone to my regular spot. The girls at the front are very pleasant. The food, gross. The broth has no flavor at all, it's the most flavorless pho I've EVER had. The jalapeños aren't hot at all, the hoisin sauce doesn't even make it taste better. Proving ourselves quirky and unique (;-), we decided to have hot Pho soup on a record breaking scorching day in the Valley. :-D And you know what? We have no regrets. After being instructed to do so, we seated ourselves at an open table of our choosing. I had the beef with tendons and it had soft and delicious meat with soft thin noodles. The broth was herb-y & they included cilantro on the side (which I actually prefer) which elevated the flavor more. They have additional hot sauces on the table for the eaters' preference. They also offer additional noodles upon request which is great if you're super hungry. The service was friendly although not super attentive. We had to flag the server to request more noodles and at the end of the meal, we had to let them know we were ready for the check. Went in on a scorching hot day bc ya girl KNOWS they pump the AC at Pho 22. The temperature in the valley was at 86 when I went in, but I was craving hot soup within 5 minutes of being inside. The space is newly renovated, but it's the same clean bowl of pho they've been serving for years. I got the Vegetarian Pho and added Brisket to it. I also got a Matcha Milk Tea. The milk tea was new to me, but it was really smooth and delicious! Note for our lactose friends: like most milk teas at tea + boba shops, Pho 22's milk tea is also Lactose Free! Want to try the Brown Sugar Milk Tea or the Thai Tea Milk Tea next time. Vegetarian Pho was clean + delicious as always. I love that I have an option to have pho without the traditional greasy dankness (which I also LOVE) for when I'm unavail for an afternoon food coma. I have tried so many different places and I have never found a pho this good but my favorite are the rice rolled.

I am no Pho expert but i can compare what i just eat with a restaurant we usually go in Glendale. Let's start with Parking , there is plenty! There was a small patio and then there is plenty of tables inside, well spaced and the restaurant is overall very clean including their bathroom (I would just recommend to change the flush). We order 2 different types of Pho, Biscuit and Rare ... and I think both were good. At first i thought Their portion are small but i was wrong, i ate mine but wife ended up bringing half home ! Taste is great and their noodles are easy to bite and small (compared to the other places i have been to) which makes it easy to eat. Plenty of broth ! And they give you alot of fresh vegetables which makes the food much more delicious. Service was great specially the young lady who works Part time (I didn't catch her name). It's been years since we've been to this spot but it used to be our go to before we moved. They have delicious, authentic Vietnamese food and although I'm not a soup person, I love their pho. The rice noodles and tripe are always perfect and they have really good Thai iced tea! My bf loves their rice plates and we would come here pretty often with my mom for dinner. At one point, they were serving bing soo which is a Korean shaved ice dessert. That was a nice surprise and they had huge servings. We haven't been in so long so I'm not sure if it was a temporary menu item or if they still have it. Great spot and the workers are always very friendly. My first thought about this pho was "where's the Thai basil?" Finally, a pho place in Northridge. There are some legit places in Reseda but finally a pho restaurant north of Nordhoff. Volume: a lot of food for the small. I'll give it a 10. Soup base: a bit bland but I didn't need to add salt. In the San Gabriel Valley, there's an older Asian population that can't have too much salt, so they don't add too much. You can't remove the salt, but you can put it in there if you like. There's a Pho restaurant in Westminster that doesn't add MSG and they advertise it. There's a spot by Garfield Hospital in Monterey Park that also doesn't add MSG. Some may think it's bland but it's great if you're sensitive to MSG. Just add salt. Maybe they don't add MSG? The soup was OK but it could use more star anise flavor. I'll give this a 7. Vegetables: they give you 3 lime wedges. But no basil? They give you the bean sprouts and a lot of cilantro. There was too much cilantro stalk but that's OK because it has a lot of flavor. I guess the lime is supposed to substitute for the basil. Some Americans don't like it so maybe they don't add it. They don't add sawtooth herb ( Ngo Gai) but I don't think Americans like it. So I understand. If a pho restaurant adds Ngo Gai, I already know the place is legit. They also give you a good amount of bean sprouts. But no basil? What the F? I'll give it a 4. Meat: The #1 beef pho has plenty of beef tripe, tendon (I'm surprised), and brisket. The brisket was cut thin but the piece I got was a bit tough. It was very meaty though. I'll give it a 9. Sauces: They gave you a container of hoisin. It's not watery. It's definitely better than the packets that some places give. They give you a container of Sriracha which is thick. Some places water it down and add vinegar to make more. I'll give the sauces a 10. Price: For $12 it's fair. You can get pho for $6 in San Gabriel. But with COVID and Northridge rent, $12 is a good price for what you get. If I add up my scores, this place gets an 8 so 4 stars. I'm surprised I scored it this high. I think it's more like a 6 (3 stars). But what's fair is fair. I'm a pho expert. I speak Vietnamese/Cantonese. I lived in Alhambra for many years, and I often go to Westminster for the Vietnamese Food. I know good pho. I'm interested in trying their other dishes. read more
