The wife and I find ourselves freequenting this place more and more each month. Service is great, quick, and very friendly. There is a limited ammount of seating, so if you catch them during a peak time you might have to wait for a table, or sit outside. It's conveniently located right off Reseda just South of Plummer next to Pizza Rev and Starbucks. The main reason I come here is for their rice plates. Not much choices for com tam if you're living in the valley. Stopped by and grabbed a steak rice plate, deli special bun me, and also the ginger wings. The ginger wings were exactly as advertised. Really crispy and covered in a sweet ginger sauce, but they weren't cooked all the way through. The banh mi was a little disappointing. I prefer my banh mi in long French baguettes. There wasn't much pate and I wish there were pig ears for that extra crunch. The rice plate was good, steak wasn't dry and fried onions added a nice touch. Never knew that Vietnamese food included sandwiches before... always thought it was just mainly vermicelli noodles or pho... so, figured it'd be good to try this place out. I went two times and tried the sandwich and a chicken rice plate. Of the two, I'd probably stick to the sandwiches. The rice plate was okay but nothing special. Chicken, salad, and rice... okay but probably should have stuck to vermicelli if I wanted some chicken. The sandwich special (#1) was decent. The vegetables tasted clean and there is a slight sweet flavor to it. To some degree, reminded me of the ingredients in vermicelli but stuck in a french roll. The shrimp chips were interesting... decent but just never really had them for anything besides snack food before haha. The servers are rather friendly and the place is clean. So, not a bad place to try out. Reason for not being more than 3 stars? Well, there wasn't an item that just blew me away and makes me crave it for lunch yet. read more

Their Bahn Mi was okay and the cashier was friendly and informative. I did feel rushed through ordering, though. It's good if you're in a hurry, know exactly what you want and happen to be close by. Update: My sis and I ate here for dinner. She ordered the pho and I tried their shrimp vermicelli salad with a thai tea. The pho was good, it had a nice hint of lemongrass. Their salad was decent. Came for the Bun Me Deli special and milk tea boba. I would come back for the boba. The sandwich had good flavor but for $4.25 I wish there was more meat. The barbecue pork looked like ground pork instead of char siu pork. I think I can get a better sandwich at a more authentic vietnamese restaurant for cheaper. The boba was surprisingly good here. The boba itself was soft and chewy and the milk tea tasted pretty good. I'm not a fan of boba loft down the street so this will be my place to go if I want boba while I'm in the area. read more

Our go-to Vietnamese joint in the valley! Super awesome food! We usually get the caramelized pork bahn mi and it is truly amazing and delicious! We also get a side of fresh spring rolls or vermicelli depending on our mood and it is truly remarkable! The place is walking distance to CSUN so I can only imagine the amount of college students who go here. The place is pretty small and has only 4 tables inside pretty much. I actually purchased a couple Groupon for this place so I can drag my vietnamese hubby. We usually go to Pho 999 or Pho So 1 since he prefers close to authentic vietnamese food. Pho (soup) according to my hubby is better at Pho So 1. Rice dishes are better at Pho 999 (they serve fried eggs there with rice) Anyway, we actually ate here before with our friends and had the crispy noodles. Loved it. And yes, I had the crispy noodles at both Pho 999 & Pho 1. So again, if it wasn't for Groupon, we probably will just end up at the other Pho places. Hubby got the Bo Kho (beef stew) last time and got a taste of it, which is better than Pho 1. Meat is very tender. My son had the Pho Ga (chicken soup) which is pretty much the same taste as Pho 999. So today, we are back! I got the cornish hen with rice. Not bad at all. I actually finished it but compared to Bale vietnamese restaurant, I'll pick Bale for their famous cornish hen. Hubby got Bun Bo Hue (darn, I should've ordered this one!). According to hubby, 'my mom's cooking is better'...well duh! Of course I couldn't resist to reach over and have a taste from his bowl. Gee, it's good! I know why hubby said his mom's bun bo hue is better...here it goes...his mom put the shrimp paste sauce (stinky but makes the soup tasty. More like add more msg to make it tasty). But I bet if you ask them for some shrimp paste to add in your soup, it will be better. But the highlight of the night is the hot wings! They added lemon grass flavor hot wings, but I actually got the ginger flavor (i think that's what it is...something ginger). 3 words: finger licking good! So after we were about to leave, the lady came up to us with samples of bun with pork. It is bao (like the one used for peking duck) but the filling is bbq style pork but really soft and tender. Maybe it is pork belly? Who cares, it is really good! And the toppings are cilantro, cucumber and something else. I couldn't remember since I downed that bread. Oh, they out hoisin sauce in there too. They said they are thinking of new appetizer for their menu and asking customers for their opinions. Was in Northridge the other day and was craving a sandwich. I checked Yelp and I found a bunch of chain places but wanted to try something new and that is how I found Bun Me. I am so glad I found it. It is located on Reseda in the same parking lot as SB - would never see it from the street. It is a small, looks like family own and operated place. I have never had a Banh Mi so I didn't know exactly what to expect. I ordered the Lemongrass Chicken - the price was right at just a little over $4. I got it to go and it was delish - the chicken was tender, juicy and warm. The carrots. cucumbers and daikon were crunchy and fresh. The roll was light yet a little crunch on the outside. I don't like thick bready rolls and this one was just perfect. I couldn't get over how yummy it was and at such a reasonable price. The place itself is really small and I don't know if I would eat it there but there were quite a few student looking people who ordered like they were regulars. Came in with a friend after getting some boba up the street cause we got hungry. It's in a plaza so there's a good amount of parking available even during lunch hour. Also the spots are large enough for trucks & SUVs. (Parking 5/5) The have a couple tables outside if you feel like eating outside. Inside there is plenty of seating and there's also a tv to watch while you munch. There menu is displayed right above the register and it's very labeled. (Ambiance 5/5) I got the Grilled Pork Banh Mi (5/5) which was about $5. The bread had a good bite to it but it wasn't hard or overly crunchy. The sandwich came with pickled carrots and daikon slices, jalapeños, cucumbers, a bit of mayo, and cilantro. It was great everything went well together it wasn't too much acidity or spice.
