Was really craving taiyaki so this was an awesome find. Really like that the fish isn't just dough, but is mochi and has a nice chew to it. The red bean and custard fillings were good as well. Wish there had been a bit more quantity on the filling for how much these were priced at. The taiyakis are made to order so it's nice to eat them hot and fresh!

I really like their buns and please excuse my ignorance, the little fish filled with creme. They're so good!! This was my second time doing and I'll def be going back. Only problem is I could probably eat a dozen of the little fish all by myself. I highly recommend

051421 "Little Korea", Manhattan, NYC As I headed over to the flower district, I made an intentional stop over at the Food Gallery 32 to have a quick bite to eat. It's right in midtown, one block south from the Empire State Building. 32nd St mainly between Broadway and 5th avenue is known as "K-Town" or "Little Korea". It is full of LOTS of restaurants serving all kinds of Korean cuisine, many open 24 hours. It is a definite hot spot on the weekends, with super large crowds hanging out on the sidewalk the night hours. Many years ago, I worked right on the corner of 32 & Broadway, (well, the building was on the corner) so I was familar with many of these spots, some of which are still around after 30 or more years. #Bulgogi (Korean marinated beef), #japchae (glass noodles), and #KoreanFriedChicken are my go-to dishes on this street. However, this afternoon I was specifically craving the steamed buns from Bunn. It's right in front when you walk into the Food Gallery, so there's no searching around for it. They serve steamed buns, Korean versions of the steamed bao buns. Even though it's not a super extensive menu, you still do have several options to choose from: #beef, #pork, #curriedchicken, #kimchi, bacon kimchi, #redbean, and #sweetpotato. There are also two kinds of pocket buns offered, the marinated beef and spicy pork. I had the beef steamed buns and the marinated beef pocket buns. Filling the #steamedbuns is Korean seasoned beef and glass noodles. The pocket buns were marinated beef topped off with cabbage. The bunns were yummmmmm! Of course, all wouldn't be complete without something sweet to finish off the meal. Along with the steamed buns, that food stall also includes Mama / Delimanjoo, which serves #taiyaki. This is a type of sweet dessert #waffle that is molded in a special griddle in the shape of a fish, that is usually filled with red bean paste. I got the one filled with #nutella ... crispy, light, chocolatey goodness! When you find yourself in midtown, take a delicious detour over to 32nd street for some #koreanfood #nyc #midtown #ktown #littlekorea #baobuns #nycfood #foodgallery32 #yummy

    Matcha taiyaki filled with custard
    Noelle H.

Review solely on the taiyaki! Our hotel was right next door, so I figured why not give this a try. Line wasn't too bad, and I decided to get the matcha taiyaki filled with custard cream. I've had fresh taiyaki before, but this combo was heavenly!!!!!!! Hands down the best I've had! If you're looking for something sweet, would highly recommend coming here for a taiyaki!

I usually get the beef and pork, but today I got the beef and chicken. Per usual, the beef was delicious. The chicken was also flavorful, but was a little low on the amount of chicken inside. Will stick to my usual beef and pork bunns in the future!

Their bitesized taiyakis are the best things ever!!! I'm normally not a fan of too much dessert unless I have a friend to share with, so I've stayed away from the full-sized taiyakis because those are just way too big. These little pastries caught my eye because it meant that I could eat one or two (or three..) myself and share the rest. They are sold in multiples of eights, and you have the option to get them dipped in chocolate with sprinkles or just plain. I believe they are all filled with cream. If you've never had these before, think of them as the Japanese version of cream puffs...they're also way cuter! A little on the pricey side, especially if you get them with chocolate and sprinkles, because they come out to close to a dollar each, but well worth it if you need a pick-me-up! I'll definitely be back - if only to pick up treats for friends who are out of town. I'm sure they would enjoy these desserts!

    Kimchi and curry chicken bunn
    Gloria H.

The new pocket bunns are amazing, flavorful and filling! The kimchi and curry chicken bun are our usual favorites but with the new marinated beef and spicy pork pocket bunns, it'll be a hard choice. This shop is also ultra conveniently located in a cafeteria style eatery, so there's plenty of side dishes and entrees, beverages, and desserts to choose from in the same store. The only downside is that it's very popular and usually crowded. It takes a while before we can grab a table, but it's usually not too bad.

Absolutely love the food here my personal favorite is the marinated beef bunns and the delimanjoo if you are in the area definitely stop by for the amazing food. The service here is also great I'm always greeted with a smile.

Really good buns for my first time. I thought the kimchi and spicy bun would be more spicy but it was still good. Would go back again.

Pork bun and sweet potato bun
    Doris C.

The price isn't bad. With two buns, you have a satisfying meal (this coming from someone who are this after a 2hr workout). The pork is a mixture of pork veggies and noodles, in a soft mix covered in a warm chewy bun. Don't expect a pattie inside of it. Flavors were ok but nothing memorable. The sweet potato bun was actually more memorable to me. A simple sweet potato mash is inside a chewy bun. It's a lot of filling and not too sweet so I was happy.

    Sweet Potato Bun... pretty "meh"
    Adam B.

I'm torn about giving a bad review to a place I've only tried one item at. On one hand, I'm potentially missing out on dishes that may be much better. But on the other hand, what I did order really wasn't that good. So instead of a two star, I'll give Bunch a three star and just recommend avoiding the sweet potato bun. Sweet Potato Bun: The filling was pretty bland, seemed like it was just unsweetened and unspiced sweet potato. The bun was made of modestly thick whole wheat wrapper, which was also "meh". I actually discarded this after a few bites to try more exciting looking dishes in the food court from other vendors.

Everyone loves the kimchi but I love the sweet potatoe bunn
    Desiree D.

Everyone loves the Kimchi bunn, but i am a true sucker for the sweet potatoe one! for 2.50 you can have a little snack, not the best choice for a full meal but will fill you up for a little bit. we need more veggie options!

    bacon kimchiiii
    Jerry H.

I only had one bun (sampled the bacon kimchi bun), but from what I experienced, it was pretty good! Service was super fast (because they had the buns ready when I ordered). The bun itself was flavorful and hot, although I thought it could be a little juicier/less dry. The buns are pretty big, and for $3 each, it's not a bad deal. A few friends and I got one each while we had a bit of downtime and it made for a good snack. Tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary.

    Sprinkle chocolate fish- so good!

Also, it's important that it comes with lettuce, tomatoes and a little onion to balance everything out. Finally, You must get both the spicy red and white sauce together to make it all come together! And that line is no joke. You will wait. Plan accordingly. Here's my dilemma: every single time I eat here, my stomach lets me know about it later. Without fail. I've tried adjusting the hot sauce, going easy on portions... doesn't matter. Something about this food and my digestive system just don't agree. At this point I have to accept that it's probably not for me. So why do I keep coming back? Because at 2 AM after a late night, when everything else is closed and you're starving in Times Square, that platter of chicken and rice over white sauce smells like salvation. They're the only game in town at that hour, and honestly, in the moment, it hits. It's the next morning I regret it. If your stomach handles it better than mine, you'll probably love it. The food is tasty and the portions are huge for the price. I just wish I could enjoy it without paying for it twice.

The flavors were bold, authentic, and the chicken skin was silky smooth. The cucumbers had a nice crunch and the veggies as well. I feel like this place is good, but the white sauce is what makes it. Would I wait another 50 minutes in line, again? Heck to the no - but 1 time? Yes, just to say I tried it. I came in line around 9:45pm and waited approx. 50 minutes before being served. the line just grows and grows.... it is crazy busy! I don't get the line concept here. Because while I was in a long line, when I get to the front, there's another line to the left of the truck... and people seem to be getting their food faster, and the line is like 2x shorter. So that's kind of confusing. Ambience in line and ordering = chaotic. The line is quick in terms of when it is your turn, KNOW what you want. Because you have like 5 seconds to order and that's it. I ordered the special (the spicy rice, lamb and chicken combo, extra white sauce, 3 squirts of hot sauce, and a topped with fries). $13 in total. I would like to say, advice to folks to know what you want before you come. I did not look at menu options beforehand and I did fairly little research so I honestly did not know what to order, just looked at some google reviews and pictures. That is going to help you, in case you do not want the typical lamb and chicken combo. To the food - 1st - they don't care how much hot sauce you want. they're making these bowls in the masses and are just giving you a single squirt so they can make 20 bowls all at the same time. I was hoping for more spice in what I ordered, but it was very slightly spicy. I'm not sure if they let you serve yourself to more, but I'd definitely want more of the hot sauce. 2nd - I didn't taste any spice in the spicy rice. I'm not sure if, again, due to the fast production that it all just taste like regular rice? but didn't see what the hype was there. 3rd - I genuinely think the white sauce is what brings it all together. The chicken was OK to me. I didn't think it was anything special, and would give it a 3 out of 5. texture was OK, flavor was OK... the lamb definitely stole the show. The lamb was absolutely flavorful and full of delicious spices. This reminded me of what I've had in Dubai. Very rich in flavor and just the perfect amount of spices. Overall, I think if you wait for your food to cool down like 20 minutes, you'll get to taste the flavors more. Everything hot together, for me, just didn't allow me to really absorb all the food. But the rice was your average rice. Pita was deliciously soft and pillowy which complemented the white sauce. Chicken was ok. had an OK texture; nothing life changing. lamb was fantastic, and fries were just fries (nothing memorable). For a NYC experience, a 1-time, 50 minute wait is acceptable. And, for $13, that's pretty cheap for the amount of food you get. I would eat it again if the line was 5 minutes. Otherwise, I'm positive you will find similar food/better food elsewhere.

Fried rice is made to order and it's actually decent. Food comes out piping hot. The fish is covered with a thick breading that reminds me of the frozen breaded tilapia from Trader Joe. It's a big serving (ended up with enough left over for a second meal) but you'll have to work thru that breading. On its own it has pretty much no flavor but it comes with a black pepper sauce that you'll need. The sauce is weirdly thick but along with the thick breading the fish will stay crispy.
