Always soggy food, but I only order to go. It would probably taste better if I ate in. The service is not terrible. They are over busy though. Living in the hills is different, so their owner is probably trying hard to make sure they aren't overpaying staff so they can stay open. Darn good burger! Finished backpacking the Desolation Wilderness and we were looking for some good food. Stopped here and there was a huge rush, so it took about 40 minutes to get our food. There is a sign that says that the food is made fresh, so chill out and enjoy life :) (definitely paraphrasing here). The jalapeño jack double burger, fries, and drink combo came out to about $20 after tip. This is one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. Juicy, flavorful patty, plenty of delicious condiments and toppings in the right proportions and architecture, so nothing was sliding around. The person taking our order even noticed that we were sharing and asked if we'd liked it cut in half. Good food, nice staff. We'll definitely be back! read more

This is a hole in the wall kinda joint. That said, they have awesome unique burgers and great prices! I had a chili cheese burger with the 1/2 lb burger stuffed with cream cheese. Worked up a huge appetite after a 2hour + hike, on our way back to Sacramento we were in the mood for a Burger from a local joint and this was the one we decided to go to. Due to COVID-19 only outside seating was available but they were taking orders from the window. Staff was very polite and treated me like I was family. On to the food: I decided I wanted a jalapeño cheese burger with fries and a soda. My girlfriend got a regular cheese burger. I checked in and realized that you get a free small milkshake with any order, went back to show them that I checked in and they showed me a list of over 20 different shakes. Went with the Cheesecake shake and it was DELICIOUS. Parking was limited. Loved the food, loved the service even more it's a shame it's so far from Sacramento. But I will definitely go back when I'm in the area. read more

We found this place after leaving Apple Hill, so we stopped in for some lunch before heading home. It's a very cute restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. The waitresses were very nice and kept checking on us. We got our food pretty fast and we had a party of 9. My kids got the Corn Dog and Fries off the kids menu. I ordered the Double Hamburger with Guacamole and Fries. My husband got the Spicy Jalapeño Pepper Jack burger with extra pineapple and mushrooms. He also ordered the Waffle seasoned fries. All of the food was absolutely amazing. Cooked perfectly! I ordered a Chocolate Molano (dark chocolate) shake and my husband got a Mango shake. When we received them, we were confused. They were white! I guess they must just use a powder. I was expecting a dark chocolate shake. They were really good though. read more

Ate here a few times. Each time better then the last. At first they were not so good and the waitstaff never ever served a soul ... ( young Pups ). They now take orders well and even try chit chat. Woohoo! So we passed by this spot on our way to a hike and I knew I had to hit it on the way back. With a name like that, could not pass it up. This is your local neighbourhood jaunt for burgers but this is not just any burger spot, this is where the imagination tops the sky! The menu is a small booklet that offers variations on an American classic: burgers. And the sizing is indicated in columns to the right of the description. So if you want a 1/4 pounder, make sure you select from that column and so forth. We had just finished a 15 mile hike in Tahoe so I knew whatever I ordered would be well justified so I ordered the 1/2 pound jalapeno tower burger that basically was a tasty compilation of 4 patties each with a layer of melted cheese and slices of jalapeno. And these were not of the tangy pickled kind.........these were actually sauteed jalapenos or something of that nature (not a big fan of those pickled kinds). It was so tall, it came to the table leaning over to the right. Also ordered the onion rings as well as fried mushrooms and of course, those were gobbled up just as fast. There was something about the batter........a savory something but boy were those good. They also had good shakes so I'll have to stop by again soon. Was visting Sacramento a week ago and my father in law was talking about the best burgers he's had so we end up at Burger Barn. I had the western bacon cheeseburger, double patty. The burger was delicious! The restaurant istelf is cozy, very welcoming and comfortbale vibes here. Now they do mention before hand on the wait time for food, made from scratch so it does take a bit longer than what most are accustomed to. I had no problem with the wait. I've been coming here for years and it's been nothing but fantastic. But my last visit was anything but. I ordered a double burger and large beer battered fries. Over $23! It's never been that expensive. What's worse, there weren't as many french fries as usual. Normally the large fries come in a bag in and of itself. This time, there is just a few fries next to the burger. Also, I had pink in my meat and the burger was completely unseasoned. This is the first time ever this has happened but because of the price, I don't feel this is fair to the consumer. To you the owner reading this, I think we need a little bit of quality control. Probably won't be back for a while. Just too darn expensive for what you get. read more

After hiking the hills at Smarts Christmas Tree Farm for that perfect tree and making a stop at Rainbow Orchard for our Apple Cider donut and fresh pressed Apple cider we were starving. Did a quick search on Yelp for a local burger place and saw the pics! Had to try a stuffed burger. Let me say they do not disappoint! Stuffed Jalapeño and Western. Onion rings were amazing as well.
