Lava burger didn't live up to it's name

Friday night outing with my wife and aunt. Three burger two shakes and a lava beer (guava) . X 2 fried (delicious) and aside salad with house dressing. Yummy. One person behind counter. Non existent help bussing tables an bringing out orders. The two medium done burgers came out perfectly done. The rare one came more done than the medium. It happens I get it. But still ate it because you never send anything back to the cook. The jalapeño burger lacked heat , the peppers were pickled. It would have been nice to have fresh peppers they were roasted. Will come again to try other things.

Nice local burger spot in the plaza by the beach. I visited for the first time on a weekday evening with a couple of my cousins to catch up over a meal. The small location is eye catching and well-lit, which was good as it was getting quite dark as we were arriving. During the winter, it can get very cold out, so I was hoping there were seats available inside, but all the tables were occupied. It is very limited seating inside -- a couple small tables and one medium sized communal table. We ended up having to sit outside, there are a couple tables just outside the establishment. Thankfully we were bundled up for the cold! -- Service -- The employee taking our orders was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed, and he was even kind enough to bring our orders outside to our table, asking if we wanted extra ketchup, mustard, napkins, etc. -- Food -- I ordered the Hang-Loose Burger, which had grilled pineapple, swiss cheese, and teriyaki sauce. It was absolutely delicious. Fresh, hot, juicy, and sweet. The pineapple and teriyaki sauce really made it sweet and delicious, and the cheese pull was fantastic! Added curly fries on the side with extra ketchup as the perfect salty addition to this burger. There are so many interesting and unique options here, I'll have to try more next time. Portion was quite large, good for the price you're paying. I was not super hungry at the time, so I only ate half. Took the rest home and reheated it a few hours later -- and there was a noticeable decrease in the flavor and quality. I would definitely recommend arriving hungry, and finishing it all while its fresh and delicious! 4/5 stars -- Great food and service, just wish there was more indoor seating!

COWabunga what a great burger. Little place by the beach with great burgers. Stopped in here for lunch and ordered the Western Burger with fries. The burger party it self was pretty big! I was honestly surprised it was that big and piled high with onion rings! Usually you get like 1 maybe 2 tiny onion rings on a burger like this but I got a few big ones. The melty cheese and the Smokey bbq sauce really pulled everything together. Not to mention the bun was a nice soft sesame bun. The fries were very good too and reminded me of McDonald's fries in the best possible way. Thing shoe string style that were just the right amount of crisp. The man behind the counter couldn't have been nicer either! It is very pricey though within my burger, fries and soda costing $23. If you're in the area and got a few bucks to spare on an amazing burger stop in!

We walk the Pacifica Beach Shoreline often and shop at the Grocery Outlet nearby, so we started to notice that the Burger-Board had quite the crowd both inside and outside in the late afternoon each time. So we decided to give them a try one day when we did not want to cook at home. Burger Board has a variety of Burgers, Sandwiches, Wings, Hot Dogs, Fries and onion Rings. They also have a pretty decent craft beer selection, score. Burgers are between $15-18 depending on the toppings, but come with your choice of fries or onion rings. They also have a chicken sandwich, which my boyfriend has ordered a couple of times. Our kid always has a good time here, she loves fries, people watching and fun places. Service is always friendly and we enjoy coming here for an early dinner.

Ordered take out here for the 1st time this evening. My husband and I both ordered medium-well burgers and mine was medium rare to medium ( a lot of red) and my husbands was medium. Considering it's a burger place that charges what it charges they should be able to cook to the correct temperature.

Burger-Board has the best burgers in Pacifica, bar none. Located off Highway 1 on the Linda Mar Beach, this chill little surfing themed burger joint packs a solid punch with big, juicy beef paddies, crispy fries, and a handful of beers on tap. I got the Wiped-Out burger, which is a cheeseburger with a fried egg and bacon. I was surprised by how fat and the paddy was, it's a lot of burger to handle and even for a fairly large person like myself, it was hard to finish due to its size. Luckily I didn't have too much trouble getting it all down because it's quite delicious. By default the beef's cooked medium, but you can specify with the person at the register if you prefer your burgers cooked a different way. The optional fries were also very good: crispy, plentiful, and flavorful. The spot itself is fairly small so on a nice day at the beach both the interior seating area and the parking lot can get pretty packed, but during the week and even at off peak hours on weekends it's a pretty relaxed and accessible restaurant. Don't waste your time with other burgers in Pacifica, Burger-Board is the place to go.

As a lover of all things burgers, I had this one on the list for awhile and found myself right by and finally got to try it. All burgers come with a 1/2 lb burger patty and regular fries, and it's made with niman-ranch beef. For $14 ($17 after tax n tip) i got a cheeseburger and fries that left me hella full. The burger patty itself was juicy and flavorful, it just needed a lil bit more char for my liking. The fries were crispy, salty, and standard. Tasty burger. I dunno why but I'd classify this as a quintessential beach burger. For some reason whenever I eat a burger by the beach, they taste very similar, which isn't a bad thing. Considering all the hikes in the area, and the beach, this is a great spot for a post workout burger. No frills, just your classic burger.

Here is where most of the food on the menu is spot on GOOD. I recommend this place over other spots here. Just not a fan of their kids menu.

A solid local burger spot. Chill and welcoming vibes. The staff here are warm and friendly. Menu is straightforward nothing fancy but to the point. Got a burger and onion rings and for the price it was solid. Burger was big and meaty, toppings on were fresh and the bacon was crispy and generous. The onion rings were fresh and crispy, good snap not soggy. This place was a nice stop after checking out the area.

I found Barbara's on Yelp--solid 4-star rating, good reviews, so we decided to give it a try. We arrived and were told there was about a 20-minute wait, which felt reasonable for a weekend seafood spot. Once we were seated, things started off fine, but the experience quickly became a bit frustrating. There seemed to be a breakdown in communication with our server regarding our order. We placed everything clearly, but when the food came out, it wasn't what we had ordered. Instead of just clarifying or correcting it, we were told the order had been placed incorrectly on our side and were asked to reorder. Unfortunately, we were also still charged for the original order, which made the situation feel even more confusing. We also ordered the clam chowder, which was honestly disappointing. From the very first spoonful to the last, there was a consistent gritty, sandy texture that made it difficult to enjoy at all. It took away from what is usually a comfort dish, especially in a coastal town where you expect it to shine. On a positive note, our timing coincided with sunset, and the view from the window was absolutely stunning. Watching the sun dip over the water while dining added a really beautiful moment to the experience, and the scenery itself was honestly the highlight of the visit. The setting itself is nice and the location is convenient if you're exploring Half Moon Bay, but based on our experience, the execution on both service and food quality didn't match the expectations set by the rating. Overall, it felt like a missed opportunity. With a bit more attention to order accuracy and consistency in the kitchen, this place could easily live up to its Yelp reputation--but unfortunately, that wasn't our experience that day.

I asked our waitress if we could get additional menus for the rest of the table, and she explained they had run out and were waiting for other guests to finish with theirs. We ended up asking if there was a QR code version we could scan, and she brought one over. I was mostly confused why the QR code wasn't offered immediately, knowing half the table didn't have menus to begin with. It just made the start of the experience feel a little disorganized. That said, there were definitely some positives. The sparkling cider for Mother's Day brunch was a really nice touch, and the Shanghai lumpia was fantastic. Still, the overall flavor profile was satisfying and meat super juicy. I paired it with garlic fries, and let me tell you, they are NO JOKE. Super garlic and salty with tons of flavor. Both items came packaged in compostable wrap, which I appreciated BUT there wasn't a compost bin nearby that I could see. The only downside? The garlic was almost too overwhelming. Despite the busy atmosphere with many cars, they handled things smoothly, even being patience when a customer wasn't present bc he went to Whole Foods and complained the food wasn't ready...dude...take a chill pill, Clark!

This place is everything you'd expect from a diner, but with better quality. you can really tell…read moreeverything is fresh. I love the fresh orange juice and carrot juice ( especially the half oj half carrot combo). The waffles are nice and crispy and i really like the corned beef hash thats made in house! I've yet to order something i didn't like. the staff is super friendly and Im constantly impressed with how fast they get everything done when it's really busy on the weekend. including kitchen staff because food comes out pretty fast for the labor that goes into cooking it. this place is really cozy. would be the ideal place to catch up with friends or family or have a casual brunch date. lots of extra outdoor seating, which is phenomenal on a nice day.

I had been coming here for over 7 years, I had never had a waitress screamed at me at my table…read morebecause I gave my dog water from the plastic cup, and kept saying she has to threw the plastic cup in the trash because I used it to give my 14 years old dog water, I waited for someone to Come and asked but we did not even got utensils until the food came , all she did was just kept screaming like I cannot understand, of course I did and it was crystal clear and she angrily continued for several More times, she did not give me the time to respond, then walked away and I did not think she wanted to bring me another glass of water, then finally she did and kept saying the same thing, " I threw the cup in the trash because of my dog had some water from it, kept saying the cup is for human not for dogs. I know what I did and I heard her loud and clear, but she said it like want us to leave because she looks so angry. I will be more than glad to pay for it, but she made us all Felt like we were stupid not understanding, we should had just left but we just came back from Burlingame and wanted to go to Cafe Central but the line was impossible to wait, so we said let's just go to our favor spot which is Brother's cafe. But after today experience we will not return, she did not even came by and asked if the food was okay or if we need anything else, we had to ask someone else for a paper cup. It took her a few minutes before she brought me another cup of water and repeat the same thing again and again that she threw the plastic cup in the trash because of me. The worst part we notice she was eyeing in us and told her coworkers, as we left the waiter that normally come by gave my sister a hug and we can tell, he said see you guys next week... which it will not happen. She did not need to scream so many times and repeated herself so many times even the table next to us just turn around and said what is the big deal. Yes I should had know better but my 14 year old dog was happen and issue with the heat from Burlingame. I love this place but after the server ( Latina women with glasses mid 30's-40's)not just try and give us a lecture and scream at me and kept telling me because of what I did she throw the plastic cup away, instead she could be more calm and use a better wording we would had enjoyed our late breakfast. She only had to say it once but she made a comment that is not expected, by eyeing us from afar and we feel Like she wanted us to leave, we could not enjoy today's meal. This is a restaurant not a home do some respect for your self and your customers. Thank you for the last 7 years of food, we had enjoyed every Sunday since. By the way I would be more than happy to pay for the plastic cup, and I am sorry this upset her so much she made us felt like we are not welcome anymore. I had a business in San Francisco and my employees know better than to behave with such attitude.
