What made this more surprising was that the restaurant was not busy during our visit. There were very few customers inside and several employees present, so it did not appear that the condition of the dining area was simply the result of an unusually busy rush. I later looked at the restaurant's health inspection report and was concerned to see that it also documented sanitation issues, including moldy food in refrigeration, grease buildup in kitchen areas, and a dirty ice machine. Seeing those findings after what we observed during our visit made me even more uncomfortable about the overall cleanliness of the restaurant and food-preparation environment. I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews, and my intention is not to insult the business. I genuinely hope management takes these concerns seriously and makes improvements. A clean and sanitary environment is especially important when food is being prepared and served, and unfortunately the conditions we observed made us uncomfortable enough that I lost my appetite and left concerned about food safety.

They got Budweiser, so at least I got that going for me.

Not to mention that the restaurant has that 1960s dinner vibe which is sweet and really brings together the experience. I love this restaurant and I will always consider it when going out for a bite. I will say that it would be nice if there was another one closer to my house on the east side, but I still don't mind the 30 minute drive because it's so tasty at a great price, with awesome workers.

In this case that soul needed to get itself to church a bit more to do some internal searching. My wife's burger was similar, and her bacon was also somehow cheap and flavorless. This is a huge blind spot for Chester's, the signature product needs to be better than this. My rating system is pretty basic, if you're a somewhere that I wouldn't tell you to go even if it was right around the corner from you that's going to be a two star. Unfortunately Chester's is going to fall into that category. There are the bones of a great restaurant here, but work needs to be done. I hope to do a re-review in a couple years and see more promise.
