This was one of the worst meals I have ever paid for. The presentation of the burgers was great, but the burger itself was flavorless and extremely dry. I honestly wish that I had taken our food back up to the counter after my first bite and asked for our money back. The meat was tough and chewy, I didn't even have it in me to ask our kids to finish their sliders. The fries were overly salted, and also bland. Very disappointing. I hadn't been to Burger Me in a few years - mostly because I've always found their service to be lackluster and the food to take a long time to come out of the kitchen. I have nothing new to report. The guy at the cash register looked almost hateful when I approached. I wasn't sure if he was doing something else or waiting to take my order. He didn't ask me if he could help me or take my order...he just stared at me blankly. I finally asked him if I should order and he sort of grunted affirmatively. We waited about 13 minutes for our food to come out which wasn't too bad, but it surprised me because there seemed to be so many people working in the kitchen and very few patrons actually eating. It was an off time of day on a weekday - about 2:30. The food (basic burger & fries) was actually good but again I feel the service was way below average. I choose carefully when going out to eat - it's a luxury. Customer service is very important to me. It would be nice to be treated with professionalism and kindness. A little bit goes a long way. I think this place is so-so. Ive only been there once since it opened, got 2 full meals (hamburger, fries, drink) for $23. A little pricey for me, it was alright though. I think what I like the most was the lemonade though. Wouldnt go back for awhile. read more

We stopped for a lunch on our way home from Lake Tahoe recently and we were so pleased with our Burger! The restaurant is clean and casual and the guy working the register was very helpful with our orders. I had a burger with fresh pesto and heirloom tomatoes that were grown locally. The sweet potato fries were the best I've ever had! Really a great place to stop on the way home from Tahoe. I can't wait to go again on our trip up next month. read more

I can only say that it was okay. I ordered the Greek style burger with lamb, and it had very little flavor. I've had similar specialty burgers elsewhere, and this one fell flat. My spouse said that his was okay also, but we've never mentioned going back. The staff was courteous and the service relatively quick, but I also tried not to notice a gallon of milk that seemed to sit on the counter the whole time we were present, never capped or put back in the fridge after someone made a milkshake. Given that it was bit drafty inside, perhaps the temp wasn't really an issue. Worth a try, but perhaps stick to the standard offerings. read more

researched this on a drive from Utah back to California. was the perfect upgrade from highway fast food but not a full service restaurant at the same time. we were back on the road in about 35 min. I stopped in this past weekend. The service was terrible. My sandwich came out wrong initially. It was finally corrected but then my onion rings were another 8-10min. I finished my sandwich before the rings came out... and they were not even hot! The employees were either talking to each other or playing on their cell phone. Holy moly. We went in after randomly yelp searching on our way home from Reno. I had the veggie burger and he had the bison burger and of course fries. The fries are incredible!! Crispy but fluffy in the middle. Perfect. The veggie burger was handmade and amazing. Super flavorful and the cashier knew the ingredients which was a shock because most people don't know. The bison burger was great as well. New to bison we weren't sure what to expect but it was meaty and flavorful though not as flavorful as beef is. We will be back for sure! read more

The food was very good. Between us we had a mixed green salad, Caesar salad, and chili egg burger. All were very good and they knew what we meant when we asked about gluten free options. I only wish we would have had room to try one of their shakes...next time. read more

I tried a bacon cheeseburger. For about $15 including fries and a great malted shake, it was San Francisco prices -- an unwelcome and all too common problem in Truckee. Seriously -- how can I sit down for a burger and a shake with my wife and two kids and budget on $40? The burger itself was far too greasy. The piece of bacon was small, overcooked and hard. The wheat bun was good, but the bottom half soaked up the grease and couldn't be eaten. The house fries were leathery and not especially tasty. The service was quick, friendly and correct. The side table of condiments was clean and provided a good selection with a good size plastic container (instead of those preposterously tiny thimbles that some places use.) The lids on the condiments are held open by the serving tongs, which isn't hygienic and there were flies around. Not good enough. There appeared to be little attempt at using "green" materials, but there was a recycling container and the packaging of the burger wasn't excessive (just a paper wrap ... but again, so much grease mean that wrapper wasn't enough.) The strawberry malted milkshake was just about perfect. The place itself is clean, tidy and has a nice open-air feel where you can watch the 70+ carriages of the train roll by in about the same time it takes them to prepare your order. I'd happily eat there again, but I'd skip the fries and try maybe a veggie burger or chicken. It's a relatively new place and I hope they continue to improve their business, switch to 100% recycled materials, set out trash cans for paper and plastic recycling, cut the grease out of the burger patties (or at least offer a much less fattening burger on the menu) and do something to improve hygiene for the self-serve condiments. UPDATE: May 2011: Burger Me has improved. Still the same overly greasy and expensive burger joint, often too crowded -- just don't bother going at peak lunch time when the tourists are in town. Try the chicken burger or their other specials. The lamb is junk. The beef is just too fatty and oily. Not a bad burger joint, happy to go there occasionally. read more

Cool place that is first stop when you get into town. Group of four that all got burgers and fries. The burgers were just way too salty for all four of us along with the fries. The O-rings a bit on the greasy side so watch out. milk shakes were average. Place has some good beer on tap. seating out side it better as there is not a lot of seating inside. if you are not a fan of sticky picnic tables then don't go outside. Spent $40.00 on three burgers, fries and onion rings. Two of the burgers were incorrect. The order was taken correctly. A guy comes out from the kitchen and says "did we make a mistake". In the time it took to get the correct burgers, the fries and onion rings got cold. No offer to warm them up. We were offered a free burger which we declined. Everyone makes mistakes but the way this was handled sucked. It's sad as we will never go back and we are locals.--Toni read more

The place was nice and clean, and the service was good. I had the Ahi Tuna Burger which was quite good. The tuna wasn't dry or dull, but juicy and quite tasty. It came with a sweet mustard sauce, lettuce, and I had it with the wheat bun. I also ordered some fries that were just okay because they were a little cold, but that was probably because I went there near closing time. The price was acceptable for the high quality of food. So went here with the fam after reading all the rave reviews and have to say it's not worth the hype. My husband had a regular cheeseburger and he couldn't find the meat under all the lettuce. He asked for medium and it was well done. I got the patty melt which they claim to be their specialty. When I ordered they had run out of sauerkraut. How hard is it to run to the store for sauerkraut for your specialty burger? One of the reviews mentionned sliders. Didn't see it on the menu. One of my kids orders the kids meal with burger. Turns out to be one slider. Would we have had to order a whole other kids meal for another slider? Didn't want to wait in the long line to find out. My other kid orders the kids meal with hot dog. Half way thru he tells me the bun is too hard. Then he takes a couple more bites of just the dog and doesnt finish. I look at his dog and its burnt on one side. Can't blame him for not finishing. My kids also ordered a shake each. Those were the smallest shakes I've seen at $5 each. Overall the food wasn't bad but it wasn't good either. In-n-out much better especially for the price. Also lots of advertising for Diners Drive Ins and Dives. Makes you wonder if you can pay Guy Fieri to come to your restaurant. read more
