Since it was a Monday night I was not expecting the restaurant to be busy and it wasn't. Plenty of open parking, no wait at all, and quick to be served. I ordered the smoked brisket which came on top of burnt end hash, collard greens, and topped with a bbq sauce/gravy. The brisket was so tender and a really thick cut. I typically like leaner cuts of meat and the meat was perfect, not too much fat. The sauce also complimented really nicely. The burnt end hash was also really good. The potatoes were tender and soaked up some of the juices from the greens and sauce. The greens were cooked perfectly. Not too soft and still had some crunch to them. They had a lot of flavor and had a touch of sweetness. I would get a bowl of them to eat on its own for sure. My coworker got the pork chop with mashed sweet potatoes and green beans which she said was really good. Her plate was vibrant in color from the vegetables and the pork chop looked well prepared. For dessert we shared the banana bread pudding with strawberry ice cream. The bread budding came out warm which was perfect to go with the ice cream which tasted homemade. I'm a sucker for anything strawberry though. The bread pudding had slices of banana throughout and held together well when eaten with the ice cream. Service throughout the evening was good. We were checked on and brought refills without having to flag down the waiter. Overall it was a great experience. I know I'll be back to RDU at some point so I'll be sure to come back.

The only negative was that they were out of my favorite draft, "Maine Lunch", but it is very popular, and used to be only found in Maine or Massachusetts, so that's a pass. My mate got the crab cakes which looked good, and I had a little bite, and pretty tasty for being out of the Chesapeake area. The place is always clean and comfortable, not to light, not too dark. Sat at the bar which has plenty of bar tables as well, so it works if you dart in for lunch, which gets pretty busy for a party of over 2. The staff and management always greet you and seem pretty happy. They check back often, which is a requisite for me. Nice lunch.

I like pimento but I'm not the biggest fan because everyone makes it differently. My pet peeve is a Mayo forward pimento. The Goat Pimento cheese seems to be made with cream cheese and I didn't taste any Mayo, so THIS is how I prefer my pimento cheese! Our server brought out the biscuits before the coffee, so I asked about it. About 3 minutes later a girl came with my husband's cappuccino and my coffee was in a glass filled to the brim with ice. Cheesesteak? Not very German. The Schnitzel wasn't sauced (no Jager or Rahm sauce), it was dry and overcooked. The edges were burned. It's supposed to come with mashed potatoes but instead had fried potato chunks which, frankly, was the best part of either my or my wife's dinners. We don't feel any need to return, most of the menu can be gotten at any number of family, sports, or brewpub restaurants.
