Talk about olde skool!! And I mean that in a good way! Been passing this place for years, and while I have been to their other locations this one is one of the better car-hop places on the eastside. REPRESENT YO!! The servers here are really nice, if you are a newbie they are patient and more than willing to answer your questions. Our server came back to check on us a couple of times, but if you need something, just turn on your head lights!! The burger is pretty decent, even a bit messy but very enjoyable. And McDee's could be in trouble if these guys had the same big money behind them. Combos were nice, we opted for the fries and milkshake combo with our burger, damn fine shakes by the way and that tar-tar sauce for dipping, OMG... People, we are talk'n olde skool, so sit yo ass back and chill, service is NOT like the typical FAST food joints, plus side is they are WAY better than your regular corporate chain! After moving to California and enjoying 4 glorious years of animal-style In N Out burgers, I was kind of sad to return to Seattle and leave those delicious patties behind. Then I remembered, "OH YEAH! BURGERMASTER!" Their burgers are delicious and larger than IN N Out's, which I appreciate, although I do wish they had a "special sauce". Sometimes that's what makes the burger. However, the amount of variety they have is quite amazing. The Fish N Chips and the Crab Grilled Cheese is so good, definitely try those. I also highly enjoy the method of serving that htey have, since you can eat in the car and they come out to you (all you have to do is turn your lights on to get their attention). The service is very prompt and they give you a little tray to hang on your window, which I always find very amusing. Definitely great for a yummy burger :) read more

I usually come here for a quick bite when I need to indulge. The problem is the service sucks. Not just sucks but let's just say I'd have more fun talking to the wall. The wall would be friendlier than most of the servers who work here. What a shame, it's been around for a long time. Still, the food is good so I continue to come back. I'm not from Seattle originally, so I have no loyalty when it comes to the various burger places out here. That being said we finally tried this place few weeks ago with no expectations at all except hearing that my sister and brother in law had eaten here a few times and really enjoyed it. Considering the cost of the food and the fact they are using grass fed beef I was impressed. The service was fast and friendly and the food fresh and hot. It's not an overly complex menu, but they got everything correct and didn't waste time and had no issue adding or removing ingredients. If you're expecting a bigger range of selection by all means go to a place with a 4 page menu. This is simple food, cooked fresh and fast. It will take longer than going to McDonalds and cost more, but definitely better quality. I really liked that you could see the kitchen and the food prep happening. Back when I was in High School, all the local kids would go down to the Kirkland waterfront to "cruise the strip." The strip effectively began with the Circle K (which I think is something else now) and ended at Burgermaster. It was a good place for guys with rad ground-effects and loud stereo systems to go and pick up women who were impressed with rad ground-effects and loud stereo systems. For one of my friends and I, it was a fun place to take my parents beat up '82 Toyota Carola station wagon; and drive around shouting "WHY NOT GERMAN" in our best Austrian accents. I have no idea why we'd do it. But, it brought us joy, in our simple way. It's probably good I discovered booze in College. Anyhow, I went to Burgermaster yesterday for the first time in about 10 years. And it was pretty much how I remembered it. A little overpriced, with average but not great burgers. But, the novelty of ordering food from our parked car, and receiving it in the little plastic tray balanced on our window, was enough to bring me more joy than I could ever muster for your typical fast food restaurant. Oh, and their root beer shake was quite good. Word of warning though, if you add cheese to their kid-burger, it costs an addition 45 cents. Tomatoes cost 55 cents. read more

I love Burgermaster. It is one of the Seattle traditions. I don't love dining in my car when it's cold outside, so it's a lot better in the summertime, but that certainly isn't on them. Service is quick and friendly, prices are reasonable, and the food is generally good. I like the veggie burger a lot, and the fish and chips are pretty good. The only downside is that the fries aren't hand-cut. If I could have the fries from Dicks with the sandwiches and fish from Burgermaster, it would be a 5-star experience. Nevertheless, I recommend Burgermaster when you are in the mood for some quick food of a much higher quality than national-chain fast food. read more

Service is always great, the workers are very kind and fun to interact with. Even when they're busy they always serve quickly. The food is great as well, never disappoints. I guess this is sorta the Northwestern version of In'n'Out. I was surprised to find that it's an honest to goodness drive-in-and-eat-in-your-car type of place, straight out of the 50's. Almost as authentic as those places where the waitresses rollerskate around. :) Having never really been to one of these before, I was tickled pink by the novelty of it. I know, I know, I'm amused easily. ;P Hubby and I had both had Combo #2 - cheeseburger, fries, and a drink (I got mine with onion rings). The burgers were quality - looked and tasted homemade. And boy, oh boy, were they huge! Much much bigger than In'n'Out burgers. In fact, I couldn't even finish mine. When's the last time I couldn't finish anything? :P The fries and onion rings were also very delicious. All in all, I'd have to say this is a great place to go when you get that burger craving. After an evening that consisted of Irish Car Bombs as well as martini's, Hubby and I wanted burgers for breakfast. And by breakfast, I meant at noon... We had never tried this place but have always driven by and had noticed it was ALWAYS crowded. I was the one who lost at Rock-Paper-Scissors so I went to get the grub for the family. I did find a spot to park right away but at almost 1pm, the place was full. The lady who took my order was probably the nicest person I've met - she was very genuine and caring. I truly felt very taken care of - and I gave her a nice tip because anyone who has to work outside and still maintains a positive outlook and attitude deserves a nice tip. I ordered 4 of the Baconmaster Extra which had double meat and double cheese, with french fries and I also ordered a Dungeoness melt for our son who has a thing for anything crab. Then also ordered 2 onion rings because I have a thing for them. They gave us some of the homemade tartar sauce too and I was really impressed with the fact that they make it themselves and don't charge extra for it. Loaded for bear, I drove back to the house with the goodies. We all seemed to bite into the burger at the same time and I have to say it was delish! The onion rings were outstanding and the fries were excellent and perfectly cooked. The one item I was really impressed with was the Crab Melt. It was delicious and I would probably order it next time we go there again. We were just lucky that our son let us have a bite before he wolfed the whole thing down! Now the place is not cheap. Their combo with a Baconmaster Extra - the double meat/cheese one that includes fries and a drink - is $10.99 so a meal for a family of 4 is over $40. The burgers are fresh and yummy. I have had better burgers elsewhere but can say this is a really good burger that is on the expensive side. Yeah, yeah, yeah-- the burgers are great. It's fun to eat in your car. Everyone loves Burgermaster. But I'll tell you why this is one of my must-go places every time I come to Bellevue to visit the in-laws. Two words: pineapple shake. Let's just say that the pineapple shake at Burgermaster may actually have a secret ingredient: crack. How else to explain how utterly addictive these are? On my most recent trip it was 18 degrees and snowing when we made our Burgermaster run. Not too cold for a pineapple shake! Yummmmm. Enough about the shake, there are other good things at Burgermaster, too. Most notably, the burgers. I will say that I am not a fan of the Turkeymaster, which is not actually a turkey burger, but a warm turkey sandwich. Not what I was hoping for when I ordered it. Best drive-in burger in town. After experiencing the UW Burger master, I was surprised my coworker wanted to go here for his birthday. This location was 3x better and had that vintage drive-in dining experience. The service was prompt and friendly despite it being packed for lunch. Dick's Drive-In on steroids! Burgermaster is like the 'roids-pumped up athelete to Dick's Drive-In's burger fare.... the burgers are much larger and you pay for it accordingly. A family of four can pay in the mid-$30 range for two regular burger meals and a couple of kids' meals. Still, as others have put it, there is some sort of nostalgic trip one takes that makes an occasional trip worthwhile. I like the cheese-drenched double cheese burger, I think the name is "burgermelt". So much greasy goodness, it should come with a free sample packet of Lipitor, Niaispan, or Tricor. The location on the eastside is oriented to eating in your car. So hopefully you have a flat dash or a minivan with a #$@%-load of cup holders. Probably not a place you want to go on a cold, rainy day (even though there are awnings) since you keep your window part way down while they hang your serving tray on it. Other good points: service is usually very prompt and helpful in suggesting menu selections. Like "malteds" they do those there too. I like the shakes. Other alternatives (not the same exactly but in the same vein): Daly's in Seattle on Eastlake, Kidd Valley (multiple locations in Seattle area), Dick's Drive-In (multiple Seattle area locations too), Fat Burger (Issaquah), and XXX Drive-In (Issaquah). read more

This place has been around since my parents were young. When I was in grade school my mom would take my sister and me here for a treat, and we still go when we feel like treating ourselves to something fatty and delicious. You just can't beat sitting in your car, rocking out to oldies tunes, and chowing down on some seriously awesome grub. To this day, I think Burgermaster makes the best damn grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had. Paired with their salty, crispy fries and a Vanilla Malt milkshake, it's a lunch I go back for again and again. I LOVE taking out-of-towners here for a fun, classic experience. Mr F and I go there quite often--it's become a ritual to eat a burger while watching "Game of Thrones"--and we never have an issue with our orders or the quality of the food, outside of needing to sometimes *add* salt to our fries. Beyond tastiness, one thing I appreciate about Burgermaster is that they use locally sourced beef that is "pasture raised and antibiotic and hormone free." I can't be a vegetarian, but I do prefer that the animals I eat aren't tortured before being killed for my (unhealthy, burgery) dinner plate. All in all, I think your tastebuds will thank you for going here, animals will give you a half-shrugging pass, and your arteries will cry because it's still a fatty burger. Worth it. read more

I love Burgermaster's food, specifically their fries and Grilled Crab & Swiss Sandwich. This would be a five-star review if it was based solely on their food and service, both of which are fantastic. However, within the past six to nine months, this location raised their prices a noticeable amount. The grilled crab & swiss, which used to be about $6.95 or so, is now close to $10, for just the sandwich! The U-Village location is over a dollar cheaper for the same item. read more

When I was young, Burgermaster was always the place to go after a baseball game. Great burgers but my ultimate regular meal is obviously the chicken strips! Their tartar sauce is super unique. I have never tasted on similar from any other previous restaurant that I have been to. Funny story actually, I was talking with one of the waitresses and she told me how her brother when he comes in from Boston for the holidays brings back a pint of the tartar with him! The location is super great also. Personally I think this solely on the fact that this Burgermaster location is in Bellevue and I love Bellevue. The waitresses work their buns off. They're on their feet all day and the pace is typically go go go. I know that if I was in their position that I wouldn't be as efficient. They get your food to you the way you want it and there's not much more you can ask than that. They also have a great variety of milkshakes as well. I usually get the tom and jerry milkshake which is an eggnog and nutmeg shake. I highly recommend it. If you ever have time coming home from Belle Square Mall or are coming from Kirkland to Bellevue make sure you stop in to get a bite to eat here! read more

Based on how busy it was on a Friday night at dinner time, I was completely impressed by how quickly our order was taken & our food came. I also always assumed that they only had burgers (based on the name) but they also have entree salads, fish n chips and more. How it works is that there is a HUGE menu that you can read from your car (this could be a bit hard though if you are older & don't have good eyesight), and then you flash your lights when you want service. After they took our order, I realized I had forgotten to tell them I wanted my salad dressing "on the side" so I ran inside to tell them and they informed me they ALWAYS put the dressing on the side. nice! I wish more restaurants did this. when they bring out your food, they have you roll down your window & they set the tray on the window. Not the best set up for the winter months, so we left the car running and turned up the heat! The food was really good, my friend had a bacon cheese burger with a side of cole slaw and fries. The fries are large, so easy enough to share. I had a chicken caesar salad and a grilled cheese sandwich, yum!! Our servers were all really helpful and incredibly friendly! Those young kids are just so full of energy and they seemed to really enjoy their jobs. Great fast food place and eating in your car is kind of a novelty. I liken Burgermaster to a classic burger 'n shake drive-in. A Triple D kind of place, except without Guy Fieri throwing frozen dinners at you. What they do have are crispy, crave worthy fries! The burgers are OK, sometimes I've found the patties to be dry. Also I enjoy the drive up and eat in your car aspect. Nothing worse fumbling about trying to drive and eat at the same time. Finding myself without a car for a day, I walked over to Burgermaster, one of the few food joints within walking distance of my office. Despite its close proximity, it was my first time since moving into town about a year ago. Despite what I read on Yelp, I decided to brave the lunch-hour rush. Sure enough the parking lot and drive up area was packed! Luckily I could bypass the mess and place my order inside. Understandably, the staff was very busy and stressed. I would not say my experience with the cashier was pleasurable, but again I couldn't blame her. So I placed my order and waited with the other 8 or so people in the walk up area. My order was ready in about 12 minutes, but I was entertained by watching the drive-up attendants running around taking and delivering orders. I was also mesmerized by watching the screen that tells how long the different order numbers have been waiting for their order. I had the classic combo. Burger, fries and a shake. The burger was very good (for the type of restaurant). The fries were good, not great. The milkshake was excellent! It was all very satisfying, the type of lunch that leaves you craving a nap. Unfortunately that is not the result you want when you have to sit in an office for another 4 hours afterwards... Overall, it was a very good experience. I would like to come back at a less frantic time to compare, but will definitely be returning here soon. read more

Last night was a tough night. I have had a tough few weeks, emotional outbursts, screaming at the top of my lungs. All this from a damn football team. (Yes, I am POINTING AT YOU HUSKIES!).... Anyways, my fellow season ticket holder and I decided to treat ourselves to some late night food in order to mourn the last Husky home game of the season. Well you can, trust me but here a burger tastes like a burger, the fries tastes like fries and the milkshake - definitely requires Lactaid! You can call in your orders in advance but make sure they repeat it back to you for there's been multiple instances where miscommunication is to say, rampant! Better yet, drive up to it and the wait staff will set a tray on your window for a whiff of nostalgia back into the Happy Days era! Sunday, Monday, Happy Days. Tuesday, Wednesday, Happy Days. Now I must warn you, I am a DICK's girl. If you don't know what Dick's is, then this might sound a tad strange and a little dirty but for all you PacNorWesterner's you know what I am talking about. Burgermaster is a good on the spot, gotta find a burger place other than Mickey D's restaurant and that's about all it is. Their burgers are a good size and are tasty. Are they greasy goodness like Dick's burgers? No Their fries are crispy and golden and very tasty. Are they fried and greasy like Dick's? No. Their shakes are cold and yummy. Are they cold and greasy like Dick's? Just kidding. Dick's shakes aren't greasy. Can you see where I am going with this? It all depends on how you like your burger and fries. I like them greasy so I think Dick's is better. But if you prefer a non greasy alternative, then Burgermaster is a fine choice indeed. read more

The four stars are mostly for ambiance. It's a real drive-in with car hop service! Most of the food is A-OK: 3 stars. The crab sandwich alternates between 3 and 4 stars. We'll usually split one of those and a burger, along with fries and shakes and leave plenty satisfied. The shakes are very good. read more

This post is in response to Alex's (COO of Burgermaster) previous response to my review which it looks like he has since edited. He claimed that he went to the McDonald's down the street to see how much their Filet-o-Fish was selling for and claimed it was 7.99. I think Alex has been watching a bit too much CNN cause this is FAKE NEWS! The sandwhich is $4.99 plus tax. It also features an actual sandwich patty and not two fish sticks. Your use of the word "filet" is misleading. It's not like you are serving a double fish sandwich, the "filets" are just small and you need two to fill the bun. Your original post also mentioned you'd eat a shoe if McDonalds also served Cod. It's actually Alaskan Pollock which is a more sustainable flakey white fish in the Cod family so maybe just eat your laces. All this being said, your SADwhich is better tasting than McDonalds, but I don't see the value. I write this sitting in my own indoor booth (another upgrade from your establishment) watching CNN on their lobby's TV ironically. read more

What is not to love about this place?? It is freaking delicious, and I get to sit in my car like the glutton I am and order food directly to my lap! My husband is a burger man, so he always gets the bacon cheeseburger and he is a BIG fan of it. Their milkshakes are awesome, rich and creamy. I'm not much of a burger person but I can say their fish sandwich and pulled pork sandwich are fantastic and worth it! The hot dog? Not so much, skip that one. My mouth waters just thinking about the pulled pork sandwich and the milkshake. Service is always fast and friendly, prices are fairly reasonable for this area and what you are getting. I know they have a kids menu but I don't have kids so I have no idea what is on it or if it is expensive. One tip? This place can be very busy around peak meal times. Plan accordingly. A classic staple of the entire King County region. You haven't truly lived life until you hit up a drive-in burger joint with great shakes and burgers that live up to their reputation. Service is always top-notch as well-- and listen, Dick's has better fries, but comparatively to the other local burger chains... The Baconmaster was a good burger... About a half pound with lots of cheese. The shake was also really good. The fries however, leave a lot to be desired. Also, if you use any kind of eye-enhancement, this may not be the place for you. Reading the menu is about the same as reading the 4th line down on an eye chart. read more

We were staying at the La Quinta and walked to this burger joint for a snack. We were not disappointed! The burgers were great! My partner was a bit stunned that they put relish on hamburgers, but whatever ... he just got it without. The burgers were fresh, buns toasted ... just my style! Recommend this place! read more
