Alright it isn't too often that a fast food burger joint can get me to write a restaurant review, but if you're homesick for good greasy NorthWest food then you won't find a better place than this. This local chain of 39 restaurants that straddles the I-5 corridor from mid Oregon to mid Washington is an institution to NW values and waistlines. To their credit they seem good stewards of the environment (as much as a fast food place can be). They use only 100% natural Oregon raised beef (or you can substitute turkey or gardenburgers), Tillamook cheese, Willamette Valley strawberries and even buy 100% of their power from local wind power generators (I guess fish killing dams is less politically correct than bird killing windmills). read more

So its 4th of July and I have to work. My Co workers and I are all hungry and no one was smart enough to bring a bbq to a slow day at work. Like always I wanted a cheese burger so me and one of my Co workers decided to go to BV. I decided to be generous on this holiday and buy everyone lunch. The drive thru lady was more than accommodating with this particular large order. she asked me if I had my BV card and of course I didn't, but instead of just brushing it off she looked me up in the system and gave me the points. I have to give a 5 stars for the amazing customer service at this location. You typically don't associate high customer service with fast food but every employee we interacted with was above and beyond friendly and accommodating, especially with all of my questions and requests for a gluten/dairy free meal. I think the employees at this location are great, everyone from the younger teenager taking my order to the elderly lady serving our food and older gentleman checking in to make sure we enjoyed the food. I had 30 years with Burgerville as an option for grub but now I find it a distant memory only possible on visits and vacations back in the Pacific NW. Let me pay tribute to the 1/2 pound Colossal and Double Beef Cheeseburger with that famous Burgerville Spread that can't be duplicated no matter how good of a copycat recipe you think you have. Tillamook Cheese or Peppered Bacon on a burger? These are unheard of on a drive thru burger North, South, or East of The Dalles. Can you imagine the millions of people that haven't lived this experience? I miss the Wild Alaskan Halibut Fish and Chips and the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Rings. The rest of the world is unaware that a Vidalia can't even be considered "sweet" or an "onion" when compared to a Walla Walla Sweet. Really, we should feel sorry for them, but as the saying goes, ignorance is bliss. These other Burger joints don't offer Real Ice Cream Milkshakes made with locally grown straw clogging chunks of fresh fruits such as Strawberry, Boysenberry, Blackberry, and Huckleberry. Hazelnuts? BV has 'em! Five Guys can offer you a greasy bag and Whataburger is good but over 80% of them are in Texas. I've been to Texas, they aren't that good. White Castle and Crystal's can hardly be considered hamburgers and you have to know a "secret menu" to get something special from In-n-Out. I may have insulted a few with those last comments but any true Pacific Northwesterner will probably agree that Burgerville is more than fast food or a burger joint...it's an Institution! read more

OMG I Love Burgerville! I wish they were in all the states. Just an FYI, I travel and whenever I know someone that is going to the NW I tell them they Have to go to Burgerville :-D The food tastes the same at most of the locations. So 5 stars to every place on food. The reason this particular place gets 5 stars isn't even from my dinning experience. (I have eaten at this location several times though) My family got lunch through the drive thru on their lunch break. They work a stressful job at times and don't always have a lot of time for lunch. My family ordered extra sauce and asked several times to make sure it was with the order. They probably should have checked the bag before leaving drive thru, but again they're on a time crunch. When they got back to the office the extra suace was sadly not in the bags :( My family called BV and the manager took care of the issue in the best way possible. (Not sure if I should give details incase someone wants to take advantage of their generosity) This is PHENOMENAL customer service!!!! And what makes Burgerville above all the rest. The burger wasn't bad; in fact, it's a better quality burger than some of the better known chains (e.g. McDonalds, Jack-in-the-Box). Even so, I won't be returning to this Burgerville again. Why? If there is one thing a customer, who is purchasing something to eat doesn't want to see, it's a drive-thru customer service rep with a giant neck tattoo and a giant nose ring to boot. If Burgerville is that lax with their dress code, I can only imagine what else they are lax about. The only appropriate place for that kind of unprofessional attire is a tattoo shop. Lately, this store just cannot get it right. We have stopped going, it's that bad. The service has gone downhill. We used to come here for it's local goodness, but were sick and tired of being treated like crap, and the staff consistently getting our order wrong. Normally I am extremely happy with Burgervill. I pulled into the drive thru 10:53. I asked if they were still serving breakfast. They paused for a long time and then said no. I asked them when do they stop serving breakfast. She told me 11 o'clock. I did not make a big deal about it. I went ahead and ordered lunch even though that's not what I came there for. My son and I were looking forward to breakfast. I was also disappointed with the food we ordered. I would have assumed it would have been fresh since they were just starting lunch.
