They have amazing coffee and incredible service. We got the spring specials, one of the miele and one lavender latte. When checking out the server's mentioned that someone had paid it forward for us already, so we went ahead and continued the chain. They also mentioned they have community cards if you want to donate for those who can't afford to get one. The coffee was really good and we enjoyed dining in and chatting. The ambiance is very cozy with plenty of seats. Will be coming back to try other future specials!

Great spot for good coffee or drinks and some baked goods. Also a nice and comfort, relax, chill vibe for some lone time or a work place. They do have indoor, patio and backyard seating areas and it just fantastic surroundings. Staff are great and friendly, easy menu and quick turnaround. Plenty of street parking or parking lot nearby. Great neighborhood area fills with shops, restaurants, bars, baked goods, library, community center and so forth. Stopped by for last caffeine and cookie with friend before heading to the airport, which is nearby too. Love this place.

I really like this coffee shop! I came here before picking someone up at the airport to wait because it's so close. I can tell they take their coffee seriously. Pretty large drink menu. And some bakery and food options as well. I got a cappuccino it was great. The barista did a really good job. I like that they sell Olympia coffee I like their beans. Good seating in here. I believe they have some outside as well as inside on a little patio area. I came around 2:30 on a Sunday and there was a good amount of people. I'm sure it gets even more crowded in the mornings. I also love that they're open until 7pm that's really nice. Overall this is a great spot, you can tell the baristas put a lot of care into the drinks and this is a very comfortable place to hang out or get some work done.

This is a great coffee spot in Burien. They have several gluten free options. I got a cortado, and overnight oats which were both very good. They have a lot of seating which is nice, and free wi-fi. Service was good overall. They did forget my friend's food, but brought it out once she reminded them.

What a nice cafe in downtown Burien! I was looking for a good cup of coffee and walked about 2 blocks from my son's place to Burien Press. Ordered a latte and la loooved it! Service was exceptional and the vibe to this place was very chill. Felt right at home here. I definitely recommend coming to this place for a nice up of your special Joe.

one of my go-to places on this side of town! yummy oatmilk vanilla lattes & delicious matcha. I wish there was more seating in the inside, but there is outdoor patio seating in the back - perfect for summer time. on thursdays, there is a farmer's market across the street so I recommend grabbing a drink here before taking a stroll.

Burien Press is a quaint coffee store located in Downtown Burien, but actually fairly quiet, at least, on a lazy Saturday afternoon. The barista, Jeremiah, was very nice, friendly, and chill. He had an awesome attitude and happy to explain their seasonal drinks, etc. Toasted Lemonade: their "take on a classic lemonade - enhanced by caramelizing organic evaporated cane juice before blending with lemon juice. Just sweet, complex, & refreshing." You should also try their Blue Tea and Toasted Lemonade. Lavender infused tea added to the lemonade, which produces a pretty drink Mocha - He did a pretty nice foam design on top. Support your local business.

I go to Burien every so often and it was my first time in here! The staff were super friendly. I got a seasonal lavender latte which was made with in house syrup. It was delicious! I never really stray from my usual but I felt like giving it a try and I loved it. I also got a slice of the frittata. It wasn't my favorite, probably because of the leeks but it was fairly decent. Pricing was quite high as everything is these days. $25 on those two items.

Went here with my friend for a quick coffee break and the inside was really nice and clean! They had their own merch on one of the tables and a variety of drinks for sale. Parking was right out front on the street and located in a super cute area, I wish I came during the day time! Service was really great, we didn't know what to get as it was our first time so we asked for recommendations and got one of those. The drink came out pretty quickly and it was soooooo good! Will definitely come back! :D

Burien Press is exactly what I want in a downtown Burien coffee shop. I stop by here instead of starbucks since prices are similar and this is better quality! They have a private back patio too which is really nice on busy days for Burien. read more

Had the latte, definitely very smooth, but wished for more flavor. It was my first time, and I have to say that it was very enjoyable. I saw many people from all walks of life come in, smiling, so kind, so open, and so courteous. Definitely a good place to relax and enjoy coffee. Many seemed to be regulars or knew of the customs, I felt kind of awkward, but warmed up eventually. I would definitely come back again to try their many other options! :) read more

I would give this coffee shop 10 stars if I could. Everything about this place is wonderful. The second class deli/espresso store across the street does not even compare to the high quality of Burien Press. If you want an amazing cup of hand crafted espresso, served by a friendly professional barista, then go to Burien Press. If you want pickles, then go to the new place across the street. They certainly don't care about customer service or make a decent cup od coffee and the atmosphere is not as welcoming as Burien Press. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in here before our flight at SeaTac. We had all of our luggage with us, and despite it looking like we were moving into the cafe, the baristas were super cool about it. The coffee was delicious. We both had mochas and we tried the cardamom latte, which was so flavorful and delicious. It was a great coffee experience after having quite a bit of Starbucks during our stay in Seattle. Thanks, Burien Press, for the hospitality and Merry Christmas! read more

The only coffee shop in burien. They have the sweet treat lattes but also much tastier plain coffee that most places. Friendly service, great coffee, neighborhood vibe, great WiFi. The quiche is delicious, the coffee is good (particularly the nitro cold brew), and my lil sister says it is the best chai she has ever had. read more

Love this spot!!! Discovered it about a year ago, and haven't been to starchuck's since! If I want to buy a cup of coffee by my house this is where I go. The americano is excellent and so are the mocha's [try them all!] and they have lovely pastries also. AND another favorite place is next door [Aussie Bakery] so if I want lunch and then to sit and relax with a good book I can! Only downside is sometimes parking is scarce and it can be crowded but 9 out 10 its fine. You have to try this place!!!! read more

Yesterday I was there for about 4 hours studying. The guy up front is super nice! And they have organic coffee im surprised they dont promote it more because I wouldve been in there alot sooner. I dont want to drink shitty Starbucks pesticide coffee. And there coffee is really good. Cool atmosphere chairs couldve been softer for my butt but I was there for four hours maybe I shouldve gotten up for a second. other than that lol cool place. Oh also on Sundays they dhould stay open until 7 or 8 that would be awesome!!! read more

Burien Press first opened in 2009. In January of 2014, Matt and Cat Wendland took over the shop and that's that.

Meet the Business Owner: Matthew W.

Matthew is the founding member of Plants & Animals and been part of the hospitality industry for over twenty years after starting in restaurant kitchens washing dishes and doing maintenance as a teen. Prior to Plants & Animals, Matthew studied law, political science, community development, and nonprofit management and worked as musician, in nonprofits, and as a journalist in the Seattle and King County region. Matthew acts as the Plants & Animals Operations Coordinator supporting the teams that make up the tiny restaurant group's few locations in Burien, White Center, and Seattle.

In reality, the Ham + Brie should be called "Toast with a load of fig jam, no brie + ham." My mouth is still tasting the sweet jam; the ham was good - couldn't remember the brie, but I just only could taste the jam. Overall, I thought the atmosphere was a bit too much like being in a Molly Moon's. They didn't have turkey, and they (or maybe I) misordered the wrong sandwich. Two visits, two excellent sandwiches, which now has me fully convinced that everything on the menu is as good as it looks. I trust them. I would let them choose my sandwich destiny. Service is super friendly. You order at the counter, but you're met with genuine smiles and a helpful, welcoming attitude that makes you feel like you made a very good life choice. Parking isn't the easiest, but you'll figure it out. The space itself is tiny, with just a few tables, so while you can eat there, a lot of people seem to grab it to go--presumably to eat it somewhere quiet and reflect on how good it was. I know that was my bro's first question as he prefers that brand lol. The staff is really kind. The deli dude was patient with me as I told him I have a lot to order. I met the female owner and she's a sweetheart. The cashier lady was also so helpful as I couldn't find a specific brand candy. She pointed me in the right direction and luckily there was enough :) There's plentiful parking in the lot, and can get pretty cramped when busy as it's not a big store but has many options. My basket total in my picture provided is $255. My brother in law asked me to take them here next time they're in town as there's so much to look at.

Sorry Burien Press, you will never be successful like this. I have visited this coffee shop probably over 100 times and am finally fed up enough to write a review for them. I want Burien to have a great local coffee shop I really do, but I really don't think Burien Press is the one to make it happen. Inconsistent hours: Today I had a meeting planned there for 6:30pm, Burien Press supposedly closes at 8pm but today they closed at 7. I heard the barista say that the employee that was supposed to be working wanted to go to a party so they were closing early. This wouldn't be such a big deal except that this happens all the time. This is the 4th time that I have had a meeting that I have had to cancel or move because they randomly haven't been open. It's not just closing early either, there have been numerous times they have opened an hour+ late with no warning whatsoever. I follow Burien Press on both Twitter and Facebook and they almost never make any mention of their random hours. BURIEN PRESS: YOU WILL NEVER GET CONSISTENT BUSINESS IF YOU DON'T RUN A CONSISTENT BUSINESS! Angry Baristas: Burien Press serves Caffe Vita coffee which is awesome. This great coffee is often times overshadowed by inconsistent and poor baristas. One of the baristas, an Asian guy, does a pretty good job and is almost always pretty good. He doesn't make the best coffee I've had, but I usually leave happy when he makes me a drink. Now besides him, the two other baristas I see in there should be avoided. I have almost completely stopped going to Burien Press in the morning because of the usual morning barista named Nona. Nona is almost always angry and seemingly hungover. Sometimes she acts really sweet but I get the impression that she only does that when she needs some extra tip money. Besides Nona's mood-swings, she makes really random coffee. I know she is capable of pulling great shots but most of the time her shots are over extracted and burnt. The other angry barista is this girl with ever changing reddish hair and glasses. Sometimes she can be so nice and welcoming but most of time she looks like she is disgusted with the world and might puke. On a number of occasions over the last few months I have had to wait a matter of minutes for her to notice me because she is sitting with a bunch of guys hanging out or she is gossiping about who I can only guess to be other customers rather than paying attention to customers at the register. It seems like Burien Press is this girl's club rather than employer. Sporadic and dirty environment: Music at Burien Press is impossible to predict: Blasting or completely off seem to be the norm. There is a large magazine rack on the wall to the left when you first walk in that is almost always empty. I think that the magazines are for sale but almost all of them are months old and trashed. The half-assed-rack gives the shop a trashy environment and would be better if it was just completely removed. There have been plenty of times when, the water is out, stirring spoons are all dirty, sugar is out, half and half is gone, trash and dishes are overflowing, and the barista is sitting behind the counter on their laptop looking at Lolz Cats or on Facebook. I'm really sad about this review because I really want Burien Press to be successful and the lady that owns the shop seems really nice but right now it seems more like an unorganized club than actual business. I can only hope they get their act together or someone else opens a good coffee shop on 152nd ST. read more

I am so tired of this place! By girlfriend has been telling me about this awesome coffee shop in Burien that opened while we were at collage. All summer whenever we are in Burien she has wanted to go there. Apparently when I'm not with her its ben open a few times but the 4 times I tried to go with her they have been closed in the middle of their business hours. Yesterday I came by at 7:15pm (they are open until 8pm) and they were closed. A few weeks ago I cam by at 3pm and they were closed with no explanation on the door at all. The week before that I came by at 5pm and they were closed. Either my girlfriend is a liar or these people hate money and don't know how to run a business. Close down or open up but stop playing games! The one thing I can thank Burien Press for is helping me find Yelp. I had no idea about this website until I saw the people love us on Yelp sticker in their window and it made me wonder who these people who love them are. Thanks for that at least! read more

I have made Burien Press a stop several times a week - staff is friendly and coffee drinks are good. Owners take pride in their business. Good place to relax and enjoy. Staff has all been there a while and drinks are consistently good. The food choices are limited but what they do have is always fresh. They are not consistent in when their breakfast sandwiches arrive so you can't always count on having one early am. This gets them a four star instead of a five star. read more

It's been about a year since Burien Press opened and I have to say it's the best coffee in the south end. I read some reviews about problems with baristas in the past but their current baristas are great. They have free wifi, great caffe vita coffee and the best americanos in town. It's a good place to study, relax, meet people or just run in and grab your coffee. Most importantly, get the ham and cheese biscuit warmed up. It is amazing. read more

They have unique pours, beans, and methods of enjoying many kinds of caffeine from multiple types of green tea, to pour overs, to coffee drinks that don't even need milk/cream to elicit flavors.
