    Tea Leaf Salad

We went for Saturday night dinner at around 6:30pm and there wasn't any wait. The service was amazing. The waiter always checked in with us throughout the meal and answered all of our questions. The inside was clean and a bit dim. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the Tea Leaf salad and the Lotus Chips! Those two dishes were super delicious.

The food is AMAZINg here. Try everything and it is meant to be shared. The beef curry was my favorite along with coconut juice. Service is great and you can always ask them to give you recs depending on your party size and dietary preferences. The place is very big and fits a lot of people so it's a great place for social gatherings.

You can never go wrong with tea leaf salad! The palata was buttery and delicious with curry on the side. The garlic noodles were tasty and had a sweet chili sauce. The cucumbers cut through the oil with freshness. I was disappointed with the nan gyi dok because the sauce was too watery, making it hard for it to stick to the noodles. The noodles were very bouncy as always though.

Tried this place from walking by was we were not disappointed. The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The Tea Leaf Salad was better than Burma Superstar and their salad is great. Just liked this one better, not as tart and the crunchy things don't break your teeth.

Yummy, fast and accommodating service. They weren't super busy when we came in around lunch time, and food came within 10 minutes for to go orders. The rest of our group was seated, the restaurant is lovely and bright. I ordered the Nan Gyi Dok. It has crunchy and soft textures-- chips and noodles and soft chicken. Very interesting.

This place is great! If there is anybody visiting from outside of California, I always make sure to take them here because most people haven't tried Burmese food, and this place does a wonderful job at keeping the food authentic but also generalizable to the public's taste preferences. It reminds me a lot of thai food, but certain items like the tea leaf salad, and nuances in the pad Thai, etc. taste a little bit different, so I would definitely try it if you are in the area. Additionally, most of the cocktails on the menu are great and pretty strong, so I would highly recommend that as well! Before Covid, they used to introduce all of the ingredients of the tea leaf salad in front of us and mix it up in front of us, but they don't do it anymore, and it seems like the portion sizes got a little bit smaller, but I would still try it if you have never tried a tea leaf salad! It is definitely a nicer place, and so the indoor ambience adds to why it seems so nice, but the outdoor seating hasn't necessarily done a great job in keeping up at ambience and therefore in justifying the prices. I definitely wish they did more with the outdoor seating, especially because the street was blocked off FOR the outdoor seating!

My friends and I got family style meal and were pretty satisfied! Our favorite thing on the menu is definitely the mango white fish. The coconut rice was soo good as well. We also got the tea leaf salad which is a classic if youre eating burmese. Its served on a plate while other places serve it in a bowl with the ingredients separated. It probably tastes the same but i think presentation matters a lot. We also got mango tofu which was a miss. The type of tofu used didnt go well with the dish - it was hard and rubbery.

My picture was of us after we already dove in, we couldn't help ourselves! also not pictured was the Tea Salad which was delicious! Definitely recommend, our server was phenomenal and even brought my boyfriend out a scoop of ice cream with a crazy flamer/candle on top! It was so sweet and he was so fun and knowledgeable. Recommend if you're in Palo Alto! As a note, we went there during Memorial Day weekend and the road was still closed for dining which made it super spacious and my mom - who hasn't eaten out since the pandemic started - felt very comfortable eating here.

Unfortunately, there were problems with every dish: 1. Extremely small portions: The basil chicken and mango chicken portions were ridiculously small. Around 80% of the container was just onions, and the containers were only about 70% full. For the price, this is unacceptable. 2. Almost no chicken in the garlic noodles: The garlic noodles had literally only two tiny pieces of chicken. I cannot believe I paid almost $3 extra to substitute pork with chicken and received basically no chicken at all. 3. Unbelievably salty: Both the garlic noodles and basil chicken were so salty that they were inedible. I had to rinse them with water five times, and then re-cook them myself just to make them edible. I've never had to do this with takeout before. The food wasn't just disappointing in terms of flavor and portion size--the biggest issue is that it feels like the restaurant is being extremely stingy while still charging fairly high prices. Poor portions, excessive salt, and very little meat. Definitely not worth the price, and I would not order from here again.

Kham and Raymond were so nice and helpful in planning the menu for our gathering. Everything was served family style. We ordered - Tea Leaf Salad- the perfect ratio of fermented tea leaves and ingrediants. - Samosas- light, crispy, and so flavorful - Nan Gyi Thoke- the noodles were perfectly cooked, not mushy, and the curry was creamy and delightful. - Basil Lemongrass Chicken- fresh basil, and lemongrass really made this dish a popular topic. - Pumpkin Veggie- Nice ratio of pumpkin and other veggies, very hearty. - Kebat Lamb- savory, packed full of rich spices, the onions add so much texture and flavor as well. - Jasmine Rice Plus plenty of yummy tropical cocktails for the adults. They set up a little table for the cake, and some graduation items that we brought. They really went out of their way to make our celebration comfortable. Everything was in generous portions, fresh and expertly prepared. My guests raved about the food and service. Some of my guests had never tried Burmese food before and now in their meal rotation. We didn't realize that we had stretched into their rest period between lunch and dinner because they were so gracious about not rushing us. While the portion sizes are on the smaller side for the price point, the overall dining experience makes it well worth it on occasion. The restaurant has a beautiful, upscale yet bright and reasonably kid-friendly indoor ambiance. Booking online is seamless, and parking is incredibly easy right underground in the Springline lot. The cocktails are good, and you absolutely cannot go wrong with the tea leaf salad, the roti pratha with coconut chicken curry, and the garlic chili prawns. The garlic noodles and fried rice can be a bit hit-or-miss; we have had visits where they are packed with flavor, have a perfect texture, and are a massive hit with the kids, but other times they have turned up a bit bland or with mushy noodles. The manager and staff are friendly and welcoming, and the manager has gone out of their way to accommodate our walk-in group on at least two occasions. My biggest tip is to avoid booking the outdoor seating. It consists of only one or two tables situated right on El Camino Real, making it way too noisy to enjoy your meal. Stick to the gorgeous indoor dining room or bar seating for a solid meal.

I tasted a bit of the wok-he smokiness and it was sweet as well. My friend says he wished it was more smoky. Eggs + Kaya toast (3.5/5) -- pretty standard. I actually wanted to crack my own eggs, but that's just a me thing! Eggs were a little over cooked, but still delicious. Kaya toast could be a little crispier but the Kaya jam was very good. Hard to get this dish wrong! Nasi Lemak (3.5/5) -- Egg looked fried, but didn't really taste it. Wasn't bad but nothing really stood out as well. Coconut rice could have been maybe a little bit more fragrant but still good. Wished there was more beef rendang. Hokkien Mee (2/5) -- this one made me a little sad because this is one of my favorite dishes! Egg noodles didn't look the same, was much paler than expected. Didn't come with any sambal chili sauce at the side, so it didn't have much flavor as is. Came with shrimp and octopus. Calamari Juice (4/5) -- Not bad! Pretty good, but don't think I'll be craving this
