    Combo #2 (chick strips)

GREAT CHICKEN AND BEST RESTAURANT IN THIS FOOD COURT! The chicken was so juicy, which seems to be incredibly difficult to do these days. The breading/batter was perfectly done and the sauce was not overpowering. Everything complements each other so well. I would recommend ordering at least 1 level higher (in the spice department). I tried combo #1 (coo coo sando) and combo #2 (chick strips). Let me tell you, the chicken strips are so convenient to eat since the shape is like a mozzarella stick (but way larger). Highly recommend! It's worth the extra charge for the comeback sauce!! Don't skimp out! The portion sizes are generous, especially for the price. The owners are sincere and genuinely kind. I would say that's enough reason to support their business. Plus, the food is delicious! I believe they revamped their menu, so give them a try!

Really good especially for the price! Crispy chicken and good flavor even with the spice! They allow different spice levels, and have different types of options I have never seen before. Like a bowl with bulgogi and spicy crispy chicken, you could get a sweet and spicy chicken glaze bowl. They give you tons of fries. It was super filling and you will have leftovers haha. Service wise it get's pretty busy cause it's in the food court at the mall. They only seemed to have two people working buttt the food came out faster then expected. Also I didn't like this area only cause on a Saturday it was pretty difficult to find a spot to sit so I suggest doing that while you wait for your food haha. I liked it though and would choose it again as a casual eats at the mall.

Ordered kimbap togo. Was super excited to have some Korean food. got home only to find out it's not fresh. it's microwaved kimbap. looks nothing like the picture on their menu.

    Pinkish meat. No flavor. Nasty.

The food is disgusting. I couldn't even finish my chicken. It has no flavor. Spent 70$ and for nothing. Literally a waste of money. And the chicken isn't even cooked right. Every bite I took the chicken was pink and it grossed me out!

Chicken, sauce, and crispy onions over rice. Fries and slaw as the sidekicks.

Tried the #3, if I'm remembering correctly: popcorn chicken pieces, over rice, with fries and slaw. As a fusion of hot chicken meeting Hawaiian bbq, this place was fine. The portions were good for mall food. Everything can easily cost $20 these days at the food court. It didn't feel like I got less than what an inflated meal can yield. The zesty buffalo sauce and crispy onions on the chicken helped some but I was given a lot of plain, minute-tasting rice underneath. The very middle of the entree portion had something akin to soy sauce underneath so if I'm feeling like giving another entree a try, I'll know to give the protein and rice a decent mixing before digging in. The fries were alright - just wish I got more of a fresh batch with my plate. The slaw was probably the most flavorful component. Not too sweet, nor savory, and tasted like it was made in house. I think this worked as a passable alternative to the usual mall food fare. There usually is a non-brand chicken spot next to Panda Express and Charleys Cheesesteaks. Outside of the mall, you could probably do a lot better, but Burnin' Mouth feels like an adequate pathway to changing things up a little after you've worked up an appetite from shopping.

This mall and good court are always ridiculous busy but i was very happy with having fast and efficient service here at this location! I ordered the chicken katsu plate that came with fries/rice/noodles. Very filling order. The chicken katsu and sauce were perfect and crispy. I thought the whole dish was well portioned and would definitely come back.

The kimbap is really good, as it comes out fresh and warm, but there is objectively too little meat in each kimbap slice... the tiny portion outlined in white is the amount of meat in a slice of kimbap.. would appreciate it if they were a bit more reasonable with the meat portion in their kimbap..

I once had a chicken sandwich here, but they apparently have Korean food too. I ordered the spicy bulgogi, which unfortunately isn't very spicy at all. I'll stick to the hot chicken here, I think.

Best place out of that whole food court! Chicken is delicious, great serving portion and fries are always fresh! Service is super friendly and prices are great ! Definitely coming back

Great food! The manager was awesome! Ice machine broken, fountain drink machine broken. You can still get canned soda. I finished my plate off lol I had the Bulgogi plate Delicious

First time trying this place and it wasn't too bad. It was nice that it came with a drink too. Food was good, just wish the portions of the size was a little bigger. There were lots of rice though.

-- YOU HAVE TO MANY FAKE REVIEWS-- So I noticed their yelp page has fake comments let me give you my honest experience.. besides my proof of purchase here on the picture So me and my friend spend nearly $40 for 2 combo the coco sando combo and their chicken strips combo both with lemonade.. so $40 this better be good.. NOPE. Horrible the chicken was suppose to be crispy but instead it was very MUSHY and falling apart, had NO FLAVOR, my friends chicken strips as you can see was BURNT, NO FLAVOR, SUPER DRY.. the owner was very upset and rude when we wanted a refund. Trying to make us believe he wasn't in charge or manager or the owner when we clearly saw him bossing the other workers around.. dude was crazy to make us believe he had no way of giving back our refund through the register

Was…read morepleasantly surprised at home many customers were waiting for to-go orders as well as to dine in - in the middle of the afternoon on a Sunday. Reviews looked solid, so we decided to come back to try the place ourselves. Plaza is very limited - and there's a ton of cars with the nearby businesses. Recommend parking on the street. Also, don't be deterred by the people waiting around. Most of them were waiting for to-go orders and we were seated immediately. Interior has a very old-time diner feel. Decor hasn't been updated, but I think that's the overall charm of the place. Menu is straightforward - if you order the lunches, the portions are smaller while the dinners are a little heftier on the portions. We went with the two piece chicken and waffle for $17.86 and the chicken dinner (3 pieces of chicken, 2 side orders, and 1 roll) for $20.56. And with the lunch/dinner orders, you are able to add an additional drumstick for a dollar, so we were able to add 3 extra drumsticks for $3. They have the option of spicy chicken and regular chicken. If you like spicy, then definitely give it at try. I felt like the seasoning of the spicy chicken was more on the cajun/smoky side and it was pretty spicy where I couldn't taste much of the chicken. I personally preferred the original. Breading was on point and upon breaking into the chicken - wow, super moist and juicy. Came with ranch and their special cajun spicy sauce. For our sides, we ordered the cajun fries and the mashed potatoes. Cajun fries were a bit too much, but the mashed potatoes tasted homemade. Rolls weren't anything too special. I think I really enjoyed the waffle most of all. Crispy on the outside, soft and pillowy on the inside. Portion was fairly big and I finished maybe two pieces before getting full. Adding on a pat of butter and drizzling on that syrup - perfection! Workers were really friendly and helpful. If you pay with cash, you get a discounted price versus paying with credit card. They also offer an assortment of pies! Super glad I was able to try this place out - will be back if I'm ever in the area and craving fried chicken.

Inside is clean and spacious. Menu offers mainly smash burgers and chicken items, along with various sides. Prices are decent. Ordered the following: - Double-double wagyu smash up combo - 8.5/10: superb smash burger. Decadent, flavorful, what sets this burger apart is that they use wagyu beef patties and fry them in butter. Lots of it. Every bite is going to be juicy. If there was a comparable, I'd probably say Shake Shack's smash burger. It's about the same size and has the same soft bun. But Cluck's blows it away. Easily. - Fries - 8.5/10: seasoned extremely well, these are extra crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Comes with two dips of their burger sauce and ketchup. By the way, their sauce is excellent. Most burger sauces are too tarty. Theirs are well-balanced with some heat. - Six piece wings - 8/10: dry rubbed. Got these in mild. There are higher levels of heat, of course. These were perfectly fried and damn tasty. This really is good food and this spot should be way more popular than it is. I had lunch here on a Monday and there was hardly anyone there, sadly. I suspect it could he the location as it sits on a corner of a super busy intersection that makes it not easily accessible. He can have a burger, but not onions or anything spicy. The menu boards were not specific enough so we had to ask a lot of questions when ordering. No one was waiting. It would have been nice if we had been treated with a little more understanding because all we were trying to do was to order a meal that would make us happy. As it was... My crispy taco was disappointing. The shell was execrable. After the first bite I broke the shell away to find a few tiny bits of chicken inside that were tasty and cooked nicely with a little bit of lettuce, tomato bits and cheese. I asked for a fork and ate it like a mini salad. Actually more like an amuse-bouche. The beef in my husband's burger lacked flavor. We make burgers at home with quality beef and this did not taste anything like. We asked for lettuce and tomato on the burger and that was okay, but when hubby said he wanted mayo on his burger he was told that was not an option. We did the best we could to order it in a way that he would enjoy but had to give up on that. We should have given up and gone somewhere else at that point, but we were hungry. Turned out the burger was worse than the taco. If we had just ordered the taco and burger, we would have called the meal a complete waste of our time and money. The guy at the counter offered to put the sauce that they usually put on the burgers on the side. He did and we tasted it when it came to our table. It was spicy, so it was a good call not to put it on the burger. It was also delicious. I bet anything tastes better with that sauce, so maybe that explains the tasteless beef. The seasoned fries were the best thing we ate. They came out hot and tasting of real potato. Besides seasoning they have something crispy on the outside that made them special. Hubby ate the fries without the sauce and enjoyed them. I dipped the fries in the magical sauce and it made them even better. Go there for the fries.

We were spending the day with her in the City of Angels to run some errands and help her out and as a treat for our hard work, she wanted to treat us and to see if we concur with her lofty assertion. HR lived up to her hype and I can't wait to eat the leftovers we brought home after dining at this chicken sando institution. For me, it's definitely THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I'VE EVER EATEN. Besides the spectacular grub, what I truly was impressed with was the GREAT customer service from Rico and his coworkers. There are two Howlin' Ray's in Los Angeles. The one we visited was located in Pasadena and their first location can be found in Chinatown. Both locations are popular with diners, so I recommended you visiting when the doors open. The Pasadena HR is next to Sidecar Doughnuts & Coffee, it's across the street from Petco and Turner's Outdoorsman, and it's just down the road from WaBa Grill and a Starbucks. This was my wife and my first visit to HR and our daughter brought us here before 5pm. Please don't be discouraged by the long line of diners waiting to enter the restaurant. The staff do a great job getting the diners through the ordering counter and finding seats for customers wanting to dine in. You'll wait in line, order your food from the register, and then wait until a table opens up. The tables consists of booths inside and tables and chairs outside under a covered patio. The customer service from the young lady at the order counter, Rico and the team ensuring that diners are seated and taken care of, and the employees expediting the food was customer friendly and customer focused. The employees were so kind, hard working, and I was really impressed by their top notch customer service. Major props to the owners for making customer service a priority. Delicious food will make customers gravitate towards a restaurant, but when combined with impeccable customer service, I understand why customers like my daughter swear by Howlin' Ray's. Yo HR ownership group, San Diego needs one of your restaurants and I can assure you that customers will inundate your restaurant. I wanted to order as much as I could from their menu, so that I could verify if the hype was real. The hype is real folks!! I ordered The Sando, Shake Fries, Collard Greens, Potato Salad, and Sweet Peach Tea. We also ordered the following dipping sauces, which are must orders: Comeback Sauce, Tennessee Tang, and Sweet Money Mustard. Their Sando comes with a boneless breast, slaw, comeback sauce, and pickles encapsulated in a butter bun. I'm a fan of spicy chicken sandwiches, so for my spice level, I chose Medium. I wanted to enjoy my food, which is why I went with medium. Rico gave me a sample of a Medium Plus piece of chicken and I'm so glad I chose medium. Medium Plus was really hot, so imagine what the high spice levels taste. The Sando was huge, the chicken was tender and flavorful, and the components all ate really well together. Their collard greens were juicy and satisfying. Arguably some of the best I've eaten. The potato salad was creamy and dill infused. So yummy!! Loved their seasoned shake fries, which were cooked perfectly and tasted amazing after dipping them in the variety of sauces. I am definitely a Howlin' Ray's convert and wholeheartedly concur with my daughter's positive accolades of this chicken sandwich institution. Not only was their food memorable, but the customer service from their staff matched the greatness of the grub. If you're in Los Angeles, visit Howlin' Ray's.

If you like spicy but still want to be able to taste your food try ordering a "medium plus". For me medium doesn't give me the kick that I want and hot makes me feel like the chef in the back was mad at me. Medium plus is the perfect in between. Once you order a worker will keep an eye out for an open table and let you know where to sit. It isn't the coolest (temperature wise) inside so you'll see a lot of people sweating as they enjoy their food but just mind your business, they probably ordered the wrong heat level and are fighting a battle you don't want to know about. 9/10 times there will always be a line so be prepared to wait. I have yet to find out what the sweet spot is where there isn't a line but you've been warned. Rain or shine though they do provide umbrellas and they're usually at the front entrance or you can just ask a worker.
