The service was extremely slow. While waiting, I asked two customers who were pacing back and forth how long they had been there. Orders are placed through a kiosk, and then you wait for your food. As I reviewed the menu, I paid attention to how long it was taking to prepare the two orders ahead of me. Additionally, the cashier at the counter seemed unaware that I was waiting to be acknowledged, as she had earbuds in. Food was good for the most part. The white rice was a bit off for me and there was a bad taste to the onions. But otherwise it was good and we will be coming in often, my son loves the place. Literally my favorite food in Plano although it's just a bowl with meat and rice and whatever else you wanna do in there it's not really a crazy thing I would go for, but it's really good. Their signature sauce always hits. The spot service was a medium took a little bit longer than I expected since a lot of customers were coming in one by one you can't order at the front you have to order from a tablet. How you rate this place totally depends on what you're looking for. Are you afraid of Korean food because it will have weird flavors that taste different than what you usually eat? This place is for you! The "japchae" tasted like boiled noodles with canola oil. The "garlic pork" is unseasoned and flavorless. What is happening with the dumplings? They might have a little black pepper in them and maybe salt but that's it. Are you looking for delicious Korean food? This is not the place for you. Please pour Ssamjang all over everything or else! Order at the kiosk. You can't see any of the food with your own eyes until it comes to your table (which I would argue is worse than at Chipotle because at least there you can look with your own eyes). Get up if you want sauce or utensils. The vibe is about comparable to a mall food court or maybe a stand-alone Panda Express. read more

I ordered the BYOB (through DoorDash) and got the spicy bulgogi beef with white rice, carrots, japchae noodles, zucchini and egg. It was pretty good and even came with their mandoo dumplings. I've had food from them before so I already knew it was going to be delicious. One comment I would have is that the bulgogi had more fat than usual, but the overall flavor was good. I also saw on their menu that they had drinks like the strawberry uyu and melon uyu, I haven't had those before so I'll definitely go back to the restaurant to try! read more

I think I was given bad beef. I ordered a bulgogi bimipop plate to go. I drive across the lot to get an iced tea (took probably 1 minute to go in and out) and when I got back in the car the food smelled really off putting. When I got home a few minutes later and sat down to eat, I got the same off putting smell and eventually began tasting some pieces of weird tasting beef. This isn't my first time having burning rice so I know the smell and taste wasn't normal. I was unable to my meal and had to throw it out. No use in going back to get a new meal. Really disappointed and I'm just hoping it doesn't cause food poisoning later on. I'm not sure how long the beef sits out but I would suggest this place review their health and safety food regulations and protocols. read more

This place is definitely a 10/10, the chicken is SO good! I recommend the chicken bites and crispy chicken! The egg roll is very good too! And the cool part is that they burn your bibimbap on a stone stove! And when they say their soy sauce is premium, then you better take their word! read more

5/7 I tried a stone bowl bibimbap with the spicy beef bulgogi and the spicy chicken. I don't have enough experience judging the quality of bibimbap so I may update this review in the future. With that said, the bulgogi tasted great and the chicken was good. I do wish the rice on the edges touching the stone were crispier, though. Had a hot stone bowl with spicy bulgogi. Tasted great! It was very hot, as the name might suggest. The hot stone bowl took a few minutes longer to come out than a regular bowl would've, but I think it was worth it just because the hot bowl is more theatrical- like a fajita plate at a Mexican spot. The tables and seats and floor all seemed a little bit sticky. Not like "just had soda spilled on it" sticky but more like "sprayed febreeze over this spot too many times" type sticky. read more

Tried ordering from GrubHub (at 6:53p) but it was too late so I just stopped by in-person and placed a to-go order. The restaurant was practically empty but you could eat in the dining area if you wanted. The menu is short and sweet but gives several options to choose from. I placed an order for two regular size Build Your Own bowls all the way with kimchi rice and one order of mandoo (the chicken dumplings). The spicy garlic pork was excellent. The regular garlic pork and bulgogi were good as well but the spicy meat was my preferred protein. I also recommend getting the spicy sesame sauce on the side to go with your bowl. It has a nice robust flavor but doesn't overpower the other bowl components. I loved the crispy Mandoo dumplings. They were a little soggy by the time I got home but after I threw them in the air fryer for a minute or two, they were perfect. If you're an average eater, the regular bowl is enough for dinner and lunch the following day. It also reheated well in the microwave. read more

My family has sort of been on a Burning Rice kick as of late, we've been to three of their locations in the last month or so, and of course when Plano opened we had to go since it's closer to our house. Sadly, I think it's best to go to one of their other locations, Richardson being my favorite so far. My main gripe is that the stone pot and ramen both cost $1 more than at other locations. I understand that this is a fairly big space in a pricey location, but $12 for the stone pot isn't a great value imo. We ordered a spicy bulgogi bowl and a vegetable broth ramen. The bowl was just okay, meat was a bit overcooked and dry. The ramen was pretty interesting, though, because most vegetable ramen I've seen has a clear broth or it's just miso, but this vegetable broth was creamy like a tonkatsu without the meat flavoring. It was probably more intriguing than delicious, but it was better than the bowl. I know this intersection is difficult for restaurants and while I was hyped to have Burning Rice nearby, this isn't up to par on quality or price as the other locations. Quality I can give them the benefit of the doubt for it being their first week, but price is a hard sell. read more

They changed the menu! No more stone bowl option. VERY limited ingredients and the only egg you get is scrambled. Rice was cold and a soggy mess. No choice on sauces and servings are much smaller. Every thing is served in a plastic bowl, plastic utensils, no chopsticks. Plastic water cup ( you have to ask for it). Very disappointing. We have always loved going here but when we got home our bowls had a mayonnaise sauce mixed all the way through and stirred into the rice and noodles as well. Not liking mayonnaise I had to throw the food away. I ordered sesame sauce which was in the bowl but the tartar like sauce was additional that was not included in any part of the meal description. read more

Haven't been in a while, and chose the hot stone bowl with beef bulging and an assortment of veggies. $12 - great potion. I got the spicy soy sauce on the side and dipped a few bites in there. The language barrier was a little rough trying to order food because I wasn't sure what everything was. We dined in so the cook brought us out our food fresh. I got the pork which was ok. This place *used* to be my favorite place to eat. Apparently they've stopped doing hot bowls (uh, how can you have burning rice with no burning rice?). Instead they just use plastic bowls like they did for take out or delivery, okay fine. We get out food very fast - and before even finishing a single bite, it's obvious its left over food at least from the day before and it's cold. So Burning Rice now serves cold, left over food, a more limited menu, and they don't set sauces out for you to choose from anymore. I liked to mix and match sesame and their sweet bbq. But now on the menu I had to choose between i believe 3 sauces or no sauce. Couldn't even mix the sauces. And obviously less sauces available than there used to be. When we told the waiter the food was cold he took it back and they simply started filling up a new bowl with the same cold left overs. It was obviously still cold, and the side my mother wanted was ice cold and greasy. Today was the first time I've ever had to refund a meal and go somewhere else. I'm truly disappointed and baffled at the horrible changes this place has decided to make. This is a 1 star review, but think of it more as a -5 star, it's that bad. read more

Today we found out it's a completely different restaurant and menu.. it's seems they just kept the name! But if what it was before, nothing resembles it..even the chopsticks disappeared and now there's only plastic dinnerware!!!..Not to mention the TRADITIONAL ( from where the name came from) HOT STONE BOWL has been ELIMINATED from the menu ( that is why it's BURNING RICE)!! Visited the new location a few days ago. We have regularly gone to the Frisco location, but were excited when one opened up here in Plano. This location has a more spacious corner spot so the inside isn't as tight as the other location. The menu is a little different at this location and also offers Ramen options, which we will have to try next. The service was good (friendly staff), and the food came out perfectly. Highly recommend the hot stone bibimbap with kalbi. I got the gochuchang sauce, which is the standard I believe. The marinated short ribs had a wonderful marble that melts in your mouth. The crispy bottom of the rice offered a lovely mix of textures in your mouth- just a symphony. Crunchy bean sprouts, mildly spicy kimchi, soft shredded carrots, tender beef and perfectly cooked rice. My choice was spicy bulgogi , it was too oily. The taste was good and I love how they flavored, but I found oil on the bottom of the container (yup, that oily). I am fine with some oil, but it was beyond my threshold. I am pretty sure there are other Korean restaurants who serves the same with less oil. read more

I am actually a huge fan of Burning Rice! It never fails to make me warm and full and also the healthy ingredients do not leave me feeling slow or gross like some other foods. I have tried many locations but this time took my mom to the new plano location which opened up about a week ago. Sadly we both had the spicy chicken which had a rubbery taste to it and led to my mom and I both having stomach trouble later that evening. This place is really nice just like their older Frisco location. I always enjoy the food when I visit and this time was no different. I don't think I have tried a protein I didn't like; their flavors are excellent. The service was quick and the cashier was friendly. I really like their complimentary mini salad and soup bar because that can fill me up when I finish my bibimbap. Their pricing is pretty reasonable too.
