Stopped in for take out. Teriyaki chicken, Mac salad and fried rice. Spam musubi on the side. All solid choices. The rice was a lil dry but the teriyaki sauce solved that. Small mom n pop shop and friendly folks. Support Local

Caution: Chicken Katsu were subpar, they replaced but not much better.

Brand new small diner in newly constructed mini mall along Renner Road in far northeast Richardson. (North side of PGBT190) near Shiloh Road. Behind Freddy's Custard. I saw this when it was being built, came to try it on a Sunday eve. This is counterservice small diner with 7 small tables for 4, and 1 small outdoor table. Plenty of parking in front. Staff is polite & professional. The menu is not as big as Mo'Bettahs, but the orders come out fast. I decided upon Chickeb Katsu (breaded & fried, cut into strips) With green salad, and plain fried rice. I wanted to try Pineapple Fried Rice, but Alohahola does not sub on their combos. I ordered to go since the lobby was clean, but just ordinary. My takeout order came in a sturdy 2 piece plastic tray, with clear top, looked really nice. On a whim, I opened it to take photos. I sampled 1 katsu, it was soggy, not cooked through. So, I tried another katsu, and it was cold in the center. The order was undercooked. The counter staff came right away, and dumped my tray. The cook was told to re-do the order. So, this time, the katsu was cooked, but after eating 4 pieces, these just are not the quality that I am used to. Maybe their contract food vendor went cheap on ingredients, since this is obviously pre-fab. At the same time, both the salad & fried rice were great. The salad was very fresh. $14 for this adventure, and my neighbor's dog will review the rest of the katsu. No ill will toward Alohahola, I hope they do great at this convenient location. The coolers in lobby had Flan, and other nice-looking desserts. The cooler behind the counter had ice creams in Hawaiian / tropical flavors.

I noticed this place after looking for a recently closed spot I'd enjoyed nearby, and I'm glad I stopped in for lunch. It's a nice lunch spot with no frills seating and good food for a reasonable price. My daughter loved the fried rice!

Relatively newly opened Hawaiian spot, that is a family business. The owners and chef are very nice, and made our food fresh as soon as ordered it! 4.5* There is ample parking, and enough seating for groups and friends to sit. There were about 10ish 4 top tables inside, and it is not too crowded at all and the ventilation inside is good, so you don't experience the smoke from the cooking from the kitchen. My fiancé and I ordered the Hawaii BBQ Mix 3 Meat (Mac salad and fried rice side) and the Kalua Pork (double sides of Mac salad). For each entree, you get two options for sides, which you can double up on a side! The fried rice was not bad, but the Mac salad was really the star, and I would double up on that next time. The mix 3 meat included beef, chicken and shrimp - each was cooked well and not dry at all! The Kalua pork was tender, and came with a side of bbq sauce that you can add on top of the pork to your liking. The meat sat on a bed of vegetables that were cooked very well! Typically the vegetables at Hawaiian spots I've been to are really lackluster (more raw), but the vegetables here were seasoned and cooked through well. The portion size for the price point was good. We left feeling full with a few leftovers to spare. We are looking forward to going back!

Hawaiian inspired plate lunches in Plano/Richardson. This is a review of the soft opening (they've only been open for 3 days). The owners are super nice & willing to learn more about authentic Hawaiian plate lunches, so that's my reason for a 4 star. I base my findings on the Mac salad. Noodles were overcooked, but as I said, this was only their 3rd day. The white rice was cooked & edible. The chicken katsu was cooked with dark meat which I like so that's a plus there. Katsu sauce..it is probably made for non-Hawaiians. Yet, doable. I'm willing to go back & try it again once they've tweaked their menu. I hope y'all will give them a try because the owners are so nice!

We ordered the chicken and 3 meat combo with Hawaiian bbq sauce and it did not disappoint. Both sides were good as well. Definitely would come back to try other items. The service was quick and the atmosphere was calm.

Wish I would've remembered to take picture before started eating. Ordered the Hawaii BBQ beef plate, sooo good!!! One of the better Hawaiian bbq restaurants I've had here in Plano. Will definitely be back!

I don't think I've been won over by a restaurant as quickly as I was won over by Alohahola. When we arrived to pick up our order, we had a great conversation with the cashier about the restaurant. She offered us a water cup while we waited, talked to us about what entrees she recommended outside from what we had already ordered and even gave us a sample of their pork which was delicious. We were so hungry that we forgot to take pictures of our food but it was more than enough that I have leftovers and can't wait to dig in again tonight.

Better than all the Hawaiian chains around! Got double salad with my garlic chicken and it was soooo delicious! Definitely coming back when in the area!

it was absolutely delicious! The portions were very generous, and everything was perfectly cooked. Service was friendly, attentive, and made me feel right at home. I'll definitely be back!

That's a win in my book. My wife has dined at other Coco Shrimp locations, but it was our first time at this location. The place is nicely decorated, looking like a kitchy joint you'd find in the Caribbean, and the staff was very pleasant. It's quick casual, order at the counter from the easy to read and not too fussy menu, and the staff will bring your food to your table. I chose the sampler plate, which nets seven very generously sized shrimp atop a bed of buttery rice and a small salad. The greens were fresh, the rice was toasty and buttery as promised, and those shrimp: Yum! I selected spicy (definitely on the warm side), butter garlic (wonderful butter garlic sauce with herbs) and the namesake Coco shrimp (crispy fried with coconut flakes and sweet chili sauce), and all were fantastic. It was a lot of food, so we even took leftovers home to have for dinner. This place was definitely worth the price, and we'd happily go again.
