Así así. I pass by all the time so I decided to finally try it. Ordered 3 king-size burritos: carne asada (steak), pastor (pork), and chicken. Everything was salty. The chicken was rubbery. Out of the three, I liked the steak and pastor best. The steak is $7.20, and the chicken and pork are $6. Also ordered chile relleno. The cashier said they didn't have just the chile relleno but only a taco with chile relleno so I ordered that. It was $3.50, which seems kind of pricey for a taco. The chile was undercooked and hard. It didn't seem like the batter was on the pepper but maybe just on the side. I'm a big horchata fan but here, it seemed a bit watered down and lacking in flavor, even without ice. The lack of Mexican restaurants near us is a huge issue. This is duped as the "drunk" quick hole in the wall yet if you don't drink don't order. Their meat is tasteless and full of fat. My husband called for a pickup order the guy said 10 mins, I realized my husband asks for 3 steak tacos dinner's when one should have been one chicken. In short, Burrito House is not bad. A postgrad friend wanted to catch up and recommended we go to Burrito House (she recalled it was delicious). We got there and ordered. Very few places that are open as late as this taste as good! We stopped by on our way back from o'hare late at night, and it hit the spot! The prices are cheap, and you get an additional discount for paying with cash. The burritos are big and stuffed with meat. I got the pastor (marinated meat) and it was tender and juicy (4.75). I also got a large horchata (1.65) which is self serve, and refills cost 60 cents. It had just the right amount of cinnamon and was very refreshing. The food was great, but don't expect the restaurant to be very clean. Great place for late night Mexican food! It was my first time coming here and for 10PM it wasn't too busy. It got busier as the night went on but that's understandable since there weren't many other places open. They have such a variety of things I didn't know what to choose. I got the loaded chicken nachos and the taco dinner with two tacos. When it came each was loaded with cheese which looks delicious. The food was super tasty and authentic. The nachos were super loaded and filling and the tacos were pretty big - much bigger than I'm used to in the city. The prices were also super cheap which made me want to order more food, but I resisted. I got a large horchata as well and the cup was the size of my head! Visited this hidden small looking decent size restaurant on the corner of Milwaukee and Ballard. From outside would make you wonder how it is but the quality and flavor of the food is great. You can see the food is prepared in front of you in an open kitchen and they take care of the environment around it to keep it clean. Ordered the Nachos and a regular Burrito which looked like King size to me. Their portion size for both dishes were huge so was able to share with family. Will definitely be visit this more often. read more

This place is brightly decorated and clean. It's counter service, no waiters. Everything was good, not unusually special but still good, especially considering that this location is in NILES. I had a pastor burrito, very good. The steak tacos were good too... The tortillas did NOT seem to be made in-house but they were fine. I'll say that their AC works very well, maybe too well... it was freezing in the place! We also had the Lengua Taco salad and that was the low-point of the meal, very little lengua in it. It's been a long time since the last time I went to this restaurant. I visited this recently and it was literally packed, and it was not packed for no reason. I have known this place for years now, and it was our favorite spot for authentic Mexican food. There were even times when we would drive just to get here at midnight because the restaurant was still open until like 1:00 am. I do not know if they still do that, but the food here is really good and the prices are very cheap as well. The line was really long and I had to wait a long time to order and get my food. I just ordered a simple burrito and it is still as generous in quantity as before and definitely as huge as before. It is also reasonably priced and definitely the best deal I can get for a huge burrito. The flavor, I must say, is pretty much the same. I got a steak burrito. However, the only difference I could tell was the quality of the meal. The quality of the meat is not bad, but it is definitely not just like before. Absolutely disgraceful what this place has become and how I was treated today. I've been coming to this location for 8+ years. Today, like I always do, I ordered one burrito dinner for pickup over the phone. Came in, paid for it, and waited about 25 minutes. Multiple people came after me, ordered their food in person, and received it right away. After I finally said something (being literally the only one there at 11pm at that point), they had a bag that was sitting off to the side the entire time that they grabbed and tried to give me. I said, "Are you kidding me? That food has been sitting there since before I even came in here, it's going to be completely cold I want fresh food what the hell was I waiting for?!" Then I asked for a little onions on my cheese quesadilla and they put more onions than cheese in the quesadillas, also I had made two orders to go and told them to put it in a separate bag which obviously they did not. The Burrito House is one of the most authentic and best Mexican restaurants I know here in Niles. I always make a point of stopping in here whenever I'm in the neighborhood and also whenever I'm craving some good Mexican food. It also has a nice location. It is a clean restaurant with a casual and comfy atmosphere and vibe. They are mostly packed, so it is always normal for me to wait at least 20 minutes for my food. The staff here are all friendly and accommodating too. Their menu has a variety of selections and the prices are all fair and reasonable, and also definitely worth it because the food is always delicious. I got a burrito and just like what I expected, it was huge, with a generous portion and fresh, with a nice and flavorful taste, which is definitely satisfying. I also particularly like their nachos. After hearing my friend rave about this place and their burritos, I came to check it out myself. First thing you'll have to do is find parking. If you are looking for a free spot, best of luck to you and please tell me if you find one. If it's a huge issue, I would recommend you check out their Elston spot as I think there are spots there (not many, but there nonetheless). Most will be using their blinkers while they order to-go. As you enter the shop, you'll notice the very casual atmosphere and workers. Usually, I would love it, however, not when they take your order wrong. I thought I was ordering a King pollo burrito ($6.40) pre-tax, but was told the total was $7.99 (including tax). I was confused so I asked how much a chicken burrito costs. The guy looked at me and smiled, "Ohhhhh, you said chicken. I got you a steak one. It's good trust me". The steak King burrito (which includes lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, hot sauce, and beans) cost $7.25 pre-tax. I also asked him for some extra hot sauce in my burrito and he waved me off saying, "Ah, we will just give it to you on the side, no problem". Waiting the for your food doesn't take too long which is nice. The workers are efficient and I got my grilled burrito in about 5 minutes. One thing I do appreciate is that they make the burrito on the flat top so it gives the flour tortilla just a bit of a satisfying crunch. As he handed the burrito to me, he winked again stating "This is our best seller, very good right now." and tossed in two of the hot sauces, which were not extra, but standard. I left wanting to like the place, but I almost felt as if I got cheated in a game of cards and was told that everything was okay while being shown out the door. As for the "best selling" burrito... I realized it wasn't anything spectacular. The meat was tough, and had plenty of collagen that ruined the texture. There was an okay amount of beef, but with the texture of it, I would argue that they could afford easily to be more generous with it. The size itself was decent but nothing to write home about. It was still smaller than a chipotle burrito, or one you would find in East San Jose. The flavor itself was watered down a lot by the lettuce and sour cream and at times made me think it was more stew than burrito. At the end of the day for $8 for a steak burrito, I would come back if I had no where else to go and was craving one. All in all, it was decently filling, but the flavor/texture was unimpressive. Not too sure what others have come to love so much about this place, but perhaps I am one of the few who find it just alright. read more
