Close to where I live so convenient for me. Been going here occasionally for a few years now and after their remodeling is when I noticed that not only that their prices jumped about $2+ on almost everything. For example 10 tacos used to be $13.95 and now $18.50 within 6 months! It also seems like the food have been tasting bland lately. Not like it used to be, cheap and good which made it popular with the locals. Now that their prices are up, they are now in direct competition with better taco places in the area. I've only had one thing from this place...3 times!!! The nachos! So good! It's the beans that make it! Now, they added this mound of Pico de Gallo type salsa and some avocado salsa that was not quite guacamole in my opinion...so when I got my own personal order last time I asked for no guacamole & no tomato/onion. What else can I say? I've already told my cousins to go there...we all grew up with authentic Mexican food...it's the beans that bring these nachos home. Ok here we go again . I grew up in Whittier and have eaten at burrito track since I was 13 yrs old . My favorite burrito was the carne asada burrito . It was simple meat , beans , cilantro and unions . The quality of the meat was great , the beans were pale in color but amazing , the size of the burrito was fair . Now something has changed , rice in the burrito !!! Beans different , meat soft chewy . I was disappointed the red salsa had a weird off flavor . I'm sadden , I know the original owner would be disappointed . I said don't ever change anything after the remodel and new ownership . It's not what it was . First time trying this place, every time my stepson is in the neighborhood he stops by and get a few burritos. I decided to stop by and try them myself. I ordered 2-Carne Asada everything and 3-Chorizo and egg burritos, 2 with beans and 1 with beans and potatoes. All were very good and there's no cheating in their burrito portions. Needless to say everyone was very happy and content with our first time eating here. This place has a great menu of food and their service is impeccable. What I also love about this place they open at 6am and I needed to be at my mom's house by 7:30am and knew if I went to a place that opened at 7am I wouldn't be at my mom's house in time. I will definitely be stopping by again probably tomorrow 4/26/2023 since I need to be back at my mom's house in the morning again. Don't like to usually leave bad reviews, but this is due to bad service. One person ahead of me and 6 came after and ask for their food before me. Took over 30 minutes for 2 breakfast burritos. When I inquired to the problem I was told many were phone orders which was just not true...I'm standing right there and I hear them order. I'm from Bakersfield, CA but staying in La Mirada for some job training. I was craving a burrito and asked my classmates from the area if they had any suggestions and they suggested this place. I ordered the Chili Verde burrito which comes with meat, beans, onions & cilantro. I asked if it came with rice but that was extra. Got mine with no onions or cilantro. This place is (still) legit. I used to live very close when I was a kid and on the way back from school in the summer, I would stop and get food. I think it is a different owner from 1976 but they retained some of the same items. We would still eat there after high school and getting married and today I brought two of my adult sons back with me after talking about the apple burritos. That is what I remembered from childhood. We drove about 80 miles to get there. We had regular burritos and the apple. Everything was amazing. The apple burritos are killer. I have never found anywhere else that makes them. We are talking about driving back once a month it was so good. It doesn't look like much on the outside and there is no where to sit but the food is wonderful. read more

I used to LOVE this place. I came here all the time growing up since I live close by and always craved Mexican food. I don't really come here any more because it is not like it used to be. The prices have gone up and now you spend over $20 to feed 3 people. The food is also really greasy. My favorite thing to get here is their bean and cheese with sour cream. (Fat alert!!) Their burritos are very big and have good flavor. I can still say I really like that burrito. Their chili cheese fries also used to be something I loved getting but they are super greasy. If I drop a fry, careful you might slip off that grease! Ha. Ha. They do have a good variety of options but I am not left with the wow factor of their food. Ask for their side of the chilis. Been coming to this place for over 20 years !! They used to have a big sign on the top of the building , but has been down for a while now, wished they kept it, made it stand out. It seems like they are getting to be the same as all its competitors, instead of keeping it original like before. Prices have gone up as eveyone is saying, but the food still taste the same to me. I paid cash, but the last time I paid with a card. If you are paying with a card, be aware that they don't charge exact amount. Let's say your order is $17, you have to take out $20 and then they give you change. I also recommend you take your food to go. There is a small place on the with tables, but it isn't the cleanest place to eat, especially at night, there are some weirdos around. After you order you can go by the pick up window and watch them cook your food through the glass which is pretty cool. Eveyone usually waits in the car till the order is ready. It sure does beat the golden ox across the street which has terrible service. I give it a 3 star because of how they are changing, but I will still be coming here like I have bee lol. read more

It seems that sopes can be pretty hard to find at many Mexican restaurants which is really disappointing because they're incredible. I used to come here and get two sopes because I'm a pig and my eyes are always too big for my stomach. Their sopes are really good, and big. The prices are reasonable and the food quality is just okay. Not great but passable. This is a fast food place and yes, the dining area needs some improvement but it's not totally Tijuana Nasty as another reviewer put it. I didn't see the pidgeons or the flies. Place gave me food poisoning with extreme stomach pains. Literally woke up and went straight to the toilet to vomit. The Nachos were hilarious, they literally only give you like a few chips and they bury it under a bunch of crap. We just moved locally and yesterday, we were craving a good burrito and decided I try this place out. Due to the pandemic, they only had the window open for take-out and there was a nice crowd (good sign). The wait wasn't too long considering the fact they people were constantly coming and going, so that really made an impression on me. We ordered the Carne Asada Burrito (w/everything), Carnitas Burrito(w/everything), Chicken Burrito (no onion) and for my toddlers, 4 plain tacos (chicken and Carme Asada) Wife and I loved our burritos! They are good sized with good ratio of meat, some good tasting beans and somewhat spicy but I still added their red hot sauce. They were so good, I probably could've eaten 2! Our teen likes spicy food but she thought it was a little too spicy for her taste but overall liked the taste. Since the tacos were plain, I can't say much but I was happy to see a good amount of meat in them compared to places I've been to before.
