Terrible service. Sweaty waiter. M.I.A. most of the time. Couldn't even get a glass of water. Food took an Eternity to come out on a Wednesday night OFF SEASON! Friend got violent FOOD POISONING from either the Vichyssoise or possibly the crabcake he ate, (which by the way had no discernible crab, but mostly filling). Turkey burgers are more like a bad nondescript meatloaf. Asked for fry substitute. Chose Cubed sweet potatoes. They were greasy anyway, mushy & seasoned with I don't even know what?!? Switched to green beans. They were soggy greasy but at least well seasoned. BUT...major CHOKING potential. They never trimmed the tips of the green beans, and each one had two woody stems that were inedible!!! What kind of chef would put out UNTRIMMED greenbeans? I haven't been back to this restaurant in about five years. Had an unpleasant reminder why. Like childbirth, you forget the pain and then have another! Not again.DONE!!! read more

I can't believe that I never reviewed this place & I have been here at least a dozen times. Burt & Max's happens to be a favorite of mine too. They are consistent & I have had only positive experiences here & believe it or not, this is one place where I never sent anything back. Aside from taking reservations they get very busy with people just popping in for a quick bite before or after a movie. Give yourself extra time if your seeing a movie, especially if you don't have a reservation, because you will wait. As for parking, save yourself the time & aggravation & just valet. The indoor/outdoor bar is cool. The outside dining area is pet friendly & has a fire pit. I love pet friendly restaurants! I would describe Burt & Max's as a local upscale bar & grille that serves made from scratch bar & comfort food at moderate price points. They are good with kids & have crayons to go along with the kids menu that of course is a picture so they can color while they wait for their food. Healthy options such as grilled chicken breast and fresh fruit are on the kids menu, but I know the fried chicken fingers are always a hit. Kids meals come with soda, milk or 100% juice. This is a great date night spot too. I like sitting outside at night (if it's not hot) because the ambiance from the fire pit creates a beautiful setting to relax and enjoy the moment. And if your date goes well, your at the perfect location to go for a walk or take in a movie, grab an ice cream cone, whatever it takes to keep the date going strong. Upon entering the restaurant you'll immediately smell the wood burning pizza oven, notice the dark wood decor, low lighting & cozy ambiance. Check out the modern light fixtures, they are really cool. I love the chicken lettuce wraps, turkey club wrap, the hummus plate, but most times I get the 10 oz burger without the bun & I ask for extra pickles. I have also had the 6 oz burger off of the 11 for $11 lunch menu (Mon-Fri 11:30-3pm) and the smaller burger is just as good & it's the perfect size for me. Don't get me wrong, the 10 oz burger is my favorite but I can never finish it. If your like me & love a good burger, this is the place to have one. Best burger ever. Happy Hour is Mon-Fri from 4pm to 6:30pm. Great specials & discounted bar bites. Not crazy about the pizza, but I highly recommend the edamame, & short rib empanada. Last time they didnt have the empanada, so I'm not sure if it's still available. The cheeseburger sliders are excellent! I havnt tried their weekend brunch yet, but I have heard the build your own Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar is pretty great. Brunch hours are Sat & Sun from 11:30-3:00pm. I think it may start a little earlier on Sunday but I'm not sure, so call first. They have a Rapoport's Rewards Loyalty program & right now they have a Yelp check-in offer; $5 off $20 or more. Staff was great that's all I really have that's positive. Five of ate here last night and none of us were impressed. I had chicken and waffles. The chicken tasted like it was fried in the same oil as the chicken. It had a fish taste and slightly overcooked. Not sure if we'll return. read more

Fun local restaurant with a bit of an American/Asian fusion vibe going on. Nice indoor ambiance with well-covered outdoor dining area. Plenty of space. They even have dining accommodations for "well-behaved" canine companions. Nice selection of wine/spirits/beers and signature cocktails. I opted to pull the trigger on chicken/waffles. While I personally prefer an on-the-bone version, this was no slouch. Such a generous portion. Two large boneless breasts, well seasoned and properly fried, with a pretty good waffle. Enjoyed the seared tuna appetizer. Nice seared-rare version with a well-balanced slaw. Table seemed to enjoy the mac n cheese bites. Odd that it's an order of 3. Didn't consider asking if they'd do 2-4 for more or less $. Could cause a headache for a party of 4. Heck of a burger. Nice blend of meat, properly cooked, about 1/2 lb version. Fries are tasty and crisp. Challah bun is a little too much bun for me, but a nice flavor. Parking is easy, as it's in one of many local malls. Service was friendly and attentive. First time there on a Sunday night. Extremely busy but we were seated within 5 min of our reservation. Very comfortable outdoor seating where you could actually have a conversation with your dining mates. The waitress was great and did warn us the food would take some time since they were also short handed. My issue is first with the adult beverage . Mostly ice. Ordered a turkey burger, was missing the grain mustard and the sweet potato fries were the saddest and soggiest that I've ever experienced. My mother in law took me here for lunch after shopping in the area. She and my father in law enjoys coming here for dinner as the food was always consistent and service , always friendly. Carmelita, our waitress this afternoon was AMAZING! Such a sweetheart! My MIL and I opted to sit outside since the weather was so nice and provided us with some more privacy as we had most of the patio to ourselves. I had the grilled chicken fajitas and she got the grilled cheese sandwich with bacon (she gets it extra crispy). The sandwich was perfect! My fajitas were good, nothing special, however I really liked the side salad that came with it. The dressing was really good. I'm a dressing (make that extra dressing!) kind of gal! Carmelita brought out some corn bread, and o-m-g. They were out of this world good!!! I typically don't like corn bread but these were really really yummy! First off my mom in law used a walker, they asked us where we would like to sit, table or booth, my mom needed a table so that was perfect. Our waitress Brenna was awesome, extremely personable and attentive without being hovering. The food was cooked to order and was delicious, they missed the onion strings on mine, Brenna noticed right away and went and got me some. The dessert was yummy but not overly exceptional!! Stopped in for dinner on a Sunday and other than being about 20 years younger than all the other patrons we enjoyed it. They appeared to be very crowded but we were seated immediately at a nice big booth. We ordered the Spinach and Cheese Dip to start. It came with tortilla chips and a side of salsa. Both the dip and salsa were good. The huge amount of cheese on top of the dip was a hit with my daughter. For dinner we ordered the Buddha pizza (bacon, pepperoni, goat cheese), Blackened Shrimp Bowl (coconut ginger rice, cilantro aioli), and the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf (cole slaw, mashed potatoes). Everything was delicious. The meatloaf was a good sized portion and very good, as were the mashed potatoes. The pizza was enough to feed two and a great combination of flavors. The bowl had plenty of shrimp and the rice was very tasty. For dessert we ordered the Key Lime Pie and it was amazing. Just the right amount of tart and sweet. My husband and I have been coming to Burt & Max's for five years now. Holy Cow! And after 100+ check-ins, obviously they are doing many things right to keep us coming back on such a regular and steadfast basis. The food is consistently good and we've tried almost everything on the menu. The salads are fantastic. Their Farmhouse burger is OUT OF THIS WORLD. The salmon dish is perfectly cooked and delicious. And, I love that the staff is always willing to adjust a dish if we have dietary restrictions. We love the staff, they have always gone above and beyond. Went for dinner and we sat inside as it was a rainy evening. Started with a watermelon martini that was marvelous! Appetizer was calamari and zucchini which was made exceptionally well. By this time I am getting full but I persevered. Had the large Caesar with shrimp. The shrimp were not as big as I would have preferred but ok. My guest had a hamburger and fries that were prepared well. Our waitress put up with our nonsense and laughed with us and after 2 hours still didn't try to hustle us out but we did leave. Horrific would be putting it lightly. I'll never come back here and it's only a matter of time before the health dept shuts this place down. The open kitchen concept only works if you're actually practicing proper kitchen procedures. The final kitchen manager who stands on the outside of the kitchen doesn't wear gloves and handles all the food before it gets to the tables. He even puts the finishing touches on the food BARE HANDED. SESAME SEEDS ON THE AHI TUNA BAREHANDED RIGHT BEFORE BEING RUN OUT TO YOUR TABLE. I told the manager and she says "he washes his hands a lot" -- um what?! This place sucks and I hope word gets out. People shouldn't be subjected to eating the sweat off this guys hands. read more

What a great place! Took my girlfriend to Burt & Max's for lunch earlier today. Any concerns we had about dining out in this new post-COVID19-lockdown environment were quickly relieved as we arrived and were sat outside on the patio where our table held a sign stating it had been sanitized prior to our arrival. Seating was spaced far apart enough that we felt at ease. High marks to our server, Joey, who immediately greeted us (wearing gloves and face mask) and was spot on in recommending the Crispy Brussel Sprouts and the Onion Soup Dumplings as our appetizers, which were both amazing. We then enjoyed the Blackened Fish Tacos and the Salmon/Shrimp Burger, along with a few cocktails. Joey was very attentive and knowledgeable on the menu and cocktail list. We couldn't ask for better service. We will definitely return to Burt & Max's in the near future. We were told there were no reg tables out side, as we did not have a reservation. We were seated at a high top outside and ignored until we asked for menus...we ordered and the tables beside us remained empty until after we paid our tab. The food was very ordinary nothing special. Pleasant server tried to do her best. Not happy with the attitude of hostess because we wanted to be seated out side....those tables remained empty the entire time they were there.
