I've tried to like this place but it's just not my style. Food is expensive and nothing special. I ordered the Korean Steak Bowl. It was a bowl of rather dry rice with a fried egg, 1/4 of a small overripe avocado, tasteless slaw and a few pieces of marinated steak which was good but minimal for $24. Not worth it. The two ladies I dined with ordered stir fry w chicken $23 again didn't look anything special and a plain burger $15 which truthfully did not look appetizing to me. The atmosphere is nice inside however we chose to sit outdoors as it was very hard to talk. It was ok outside and our waiter, Henry was kind. I personally think the food is overpriced but I'm sure they have a very high overhead in this location. I would not come here on my own for the food if it wasn't to meet up with friends. Next time I will order an appetizer and eat somewhere else. read more

This was our 1st time at this restaurant. They took reservations so that made things very simple. Once we got to the restaurant and checked in we only had about a five minute wait. Overall the place looked great and service was very friendly. Unfortunately we were so hungry we did not get a chance to take any pictures of our appetizers. They were incredible. we ordered the onion soup dumplings, brick oven chicken wings and crispy mac & cheese bites. These appetizers were definitely the highlight of the evening. unfortunately our entrées fell a little flat. Both my kids steaks were over cooked, the mashed potatoes were very dry and starchy and the meatloaf was very dry and dense. The barbecue sauce helped a little but it was definitely a disappointment. based on the service and appetizers we would definitely give them a second shot, but we're not running out the door to get back there as soon as possible. read more

Burt & Max's was so good! Although it's been around for several years, this was my first time visiting and I was delighted with our experience. There was four of us so we decided to try quite a few of the dishes. But before we get to that, I have to mention the drinks. I had a total of two martinis that night, one was a watermelon martini, and the other a berry lemon martini. I can't remember the actual names! L O L but they were really good and a big glass and very strong so beware About that if you were a lightweight like myself! Now for the appetizers. We started out with the French onion dumplings, which were just amazing. We had the edamame which is not something I would typically order, but this was blackened with a hoisin glaze on it. I was glad we ordered it because it was super tasty. Then we got the Brussel sprouts which were also delicious. A little on the sweet side but it had large chunks of what appeared to be Chinese pork or something like that in it which was a great surprise and very enjoyable. Finally for appetizers, we finished off with the chicken wings which were my favorite I think. They had a lemony flavor, and we're sprinkled with Parmesan on the top. They were full of deliciousness and I would definitely say they are worthy of ordering again. For meals, we wound up all getting the same thing, the bacon wrapped meatloaf, and the chicken and waffles. The bacon wrapped meatloaf was a huge portion and very tasty and satisfying. The mashed potatoes were cheddar and green onion and they were so good! It typically comes with coleslaw, but I trade it out for the spinach with garlic and lemon and that was very good too. I don't typically go for chicken and waffles but my husband got this dish and they were huge pieces of fried crispy chicken on top and he really enjoyed it thoroughly. Now let's talk about the desserts! Of course we had to! The warm triple chocolate, brownie sundae, and the Frozen Mississippi mud cake. Can you say amazing??? Everything about that evening was on point and I can honestly say I can't wait to go back again. They also have a wonderful brunch menu for the weekends, so I think that will be my next try. read more

I stopped here for lunch on a Friday, and we were surprised how busy it was. We ordered two drinks that we had to send back. The martini came to the table with ice cubes in it, which we thought was odd.. and the taste wasn't good. For food we ordered the bacon tomato grilled cheese and fish tacos with a side of fries. The grilled cheese was just okay... it was nothing I couldn't make at home. There was maybe 2 slices of Kraft American cheese inside the sandwich. We were not impressed. The fish tacos were good, not great and our fries never came. The waitress never noticed that the fries didn't arrive to the table which was disappointing. We had a nice Easter Brunch yesterday at Burt & Max's. We had made reservations the week before. We got there as they first opened for the day and they seated us early (party of three). Service was excellent but as the restaurant filled our server was pulled in many directions. Even though he was as attentive as he could be and we had no complaints. I got one of there signature brunch cocktails, a peach bellini and my husband a fantastic Old Fashion which he said was fantastic. We ordered from the brunch menu and I got THE BEST avocado toast I've ever had! My daughter and spouse got an American breakfast with was 'good' but basic. I would have given and 5-star rating if they had had more variety on the brunch menu - I love a Quiche but the one offer was chicken and cheese (chicken and eggs? no, thanks), and only one omelet on the menu (listed as MP - market price for an omelet?) and it was cartelized onions and mozzarella. But other than that, it was a nice dining experience and we look forward to returning. read more

The Good: Dena was an absolutely awesome server. The lighting inside is really cool, with Edison bulbs used throughout, great outdoor seating, and cool touches like large barnyard doors inside. Additionally, the owner is very friendly. The Bad: Honestly the food was just mediocre. We ordered the wings as an appetizer, a pizza, and the onion dumplings. The wings had a lemon zest flavor to it, but being that they weren't fried, the flavor wasn't that strong, and the chicken itself didn't have any flavor. Additionally you had to peel off the fat from the wings. The pizza was ok, the large pepperoni pieces were good, but not enough sauce was used, as when lifting up the cheese there was no sauce there. The food here was absolutely delicious and I loved that there was such a variety. The atmosphere was rustic and not very noisy so it was nice to have conversations in. Our server was hands down the best server I have ever had. His name is Lucas and highly recommend sitting at his tables! He was very honest about the food menu and helped us pick the best dishes and as an added bonus he brought us warm wet hand towels to clean our hands before we started dessert!
