Haven't been here for a few months .. my husband and I used to come here often and loved the quality food !! Delicious ... then for a time .. it went down hill . We have it 3 tries and decided not to come here again .... Recently my friend wanted to come here for lunch ... and the food was great again .. and today I just popped in to order a sandwich .. I decided on the Nashville chicken sandwich ... oh wow !! It was amazing !! This was the first place I stopped while in San Diego. It is amazing! I ordered a basic burger ( with bacon of course) and sweet potato fries. I feel like you can't ever go wrong with sweet potato fries. Both the burger and the fries were excellent. They also have their own sodas. Also very tasty!!!! Wow! We've gone to this center more times than I can count and finally decided to stop by Bushfire Kitchen for lunch! Boy, are we happy we did! This place is solid!! Upon entering, there's LOTS of indoor and outdoor seating with a format to order up front and they bring the food to your table. It's an open kitchen concept so you can see everything being made and assembled. It's a large menu with lots of options and different types of food. The young lady at the register was super polite and happy to give recommendations. Everything we had was delicious! Highlights - Chicken Empanadas, so tasty with the perfect dough and the chimmichuri dipping was was very flavorful - Thai Chicken Curry Bow with Sweet Potatoes, I was shocked at the complexity of the curry and spice level! Definitely had some kick and the sweet potatoes (side) were super fresh and seasoned well - Butter Noodles & Kids Quesadillas, both kids ate their entire meal so that's always a great sign! - Cookies!!!! Disappointing experience here unfortunately. My boyfriend and I wanted to try somewhere new for sandwiches and burgers so a quick Google search led us here. Walked in on a Sunday afternoon and there were only like 2 people in the restaurant (which should have been my first sign). After ordering at the counter and having to give my tip before receiving the service and food, I have a clearer understanding as to why they do that. It took close to half an hour to receive our food and when we did, the order was incorrect. We ordered the gaucho steak sandwich, American burger and a side of fries... not too difficult. At first, they didn't bring us the fries but mentioned "the fries will be out shortly". So after waiting another 10 minutes, we went to go check on the fries and they let us know they completely forgot about them and never put them in. To add to that, we ordered the condiments and pickles on the side of the burger (my bf hates them, I love them) and not a single item came out with it on the side. By the time we finally had all of our food, we had been there for almost 45 minutes. And while the steak sandwich technically came out correct, it really didn't taste very good. It felt more like roast beef on a roll with garlic basil spread - not chimmichurri. The two stars are for the fries which, when they finally arrived at the table, were the best part of the meal. All in all, pretty disappointing meal and probably won't be heading back any time soon. read more

Featuring a slightly more meaty vibe, Bushfire is a local chain eatery that in many ways mimics Urban Plates. The food is upscale casual, relatively tasty, and limited to a few signature dishes. There is a lot to praise. The staff was friendly and for the most part quite competent. The dishes are attractively plated and feature a few unusual items, including peri peri chicken (a fave of mine). The price point is actually quite reasonable for this day and age, especially in tony Del Mar. Our party had a decent, perfectly edible meal. That all said, there is nothing terribly exciting about what is offered. It is competently prepared and served food. But it's strictly middle of the road fixings and, to be perfectly honest, just a bit dull. To be fair, I can see myself coming here on a pretty regular basis if I wanted something quick and a cut above fast food. But if I am interested in dining rather than eating, I would forego Bushfire for something a bit less generic. Still, a good deal and a viable option if you're in the mood. read more

We brought a soccer team here for sin ser with nearly 20 people and has a great time at their outdoor seating area. They had sports on the TV's and enough heaters to keep everyone comfortable. Their format works great for large groups that want to pay separately. You order inside and pay when you order then they bring your food to you when it is ready. No sharing checks or trying to split payments! The food provides so many healthy options and is great for groups with vegetarians and gluten free guests. But healthy doesn't mean boring! Their burgers are delicious and the Beef Brisket Bowl and Free-range Chicken Bowl are so good as well. They have a great selection of craft beers on tap and good wine choices as well. I would love to come back because there was so much more that looked great but I didn't get to try. The bright spot, the sweet potato fries were delicious- perfectly cooked. Not looking for a value meal or anything, but the burger, a kids meal, one drink and veggie bowl. Our total was almost $60. My SD Female Brunch Club decided to come here to refuel after our 3.25 mile hike in Torrey Pines State Reserve Beach. We were famished and couldn't have picked a more perfect spot! This was my first time here, and I absolutely loved it! In fact, all of the ladies in my group loved it! There was a wide selection of grass-fed burgers, sandwiches, salads, bowls, and plates. Most of the items averaged between $15 -$20. I ordered the Peri Peri Chicken Plate that came with 2 side dishes. I selected the Grilled Veggies & Roasted Curry Cauliflower. It also came with focaccia bread. The serving was very generous--all this for only $14.95. The chicken breast was so tender and juicy. The peri peri sauce had a nice little kick to it and elevated the flavor of the chicken, which was already well seasoned. The grilled veggies were crisp and delicious, as was the roasted curry cauliflower. I absolutely loved my plate! My friend sitting to my right ordered the Chimichurri Tri-Tip Plate with Grilled Veggies & Baked Sweet Potatoes. I had a taste of her tri tip dipped in the chimichurri sauce and it was soooooooo good! The tri tip was cooked to the perfect temperature and was tender. The chimichurri was amazing! Her dish was $19.95. Again, very generous portion! My friend to my left ordered the Veggie Burger with a side of roasted brussel sprouts. The burger looked pretty tasty. It came with arugula, grilled zucchini, avocado, cheddar cheese, pickled onions, and pesto aioli. This was $10.95 and was a rather big burger! Some of the ladies ordered the grass-fed burgers and said it was very tasty. One of the ladies ordered the sweet potato fries with her burger and we were all drooling over the fries. She let each of us have one, and OH-MY-GOD!...I'm definitely coming back to get my own order of the sweet potato fries next time!! The grass-fed burgers were $12.50 - $13.50 for the burger only. Sides ranged from $3.95 - $4.50 each. The portions were very large and all of the ingredients are local and organic, so it was totally worth the price! One of the things I love about this restaurant aside from the food, was the fact that we could each order and pay for our meal at the counter. This makes it very convenient for a large group. We simply placed our order at the counter, pay, and they delivered food to our table. The service was quick and efficient. The ambiance was nice, especially the outdoor covered patio.
