    Ruben with onion rings

We typically come here about once a year and we're never disappointed. Tonight we both had a craft tap beer and they were cold and tasty. Very nice tap selection. I had the walleye Rachel with house made chips and their delicious onion dip. Hubby had the Ruben with onion rings. Both were exceptional. As was the service. Highly recommend!

One of these days, I will hit this place up in the afternoon/evening. I've always been here for brunch, and I am always walking away happy with a full belly. Firstly, they have a pretty good tap selection for anyone's palate. Sours?, Stouts? Lagers? IPAs? they've got something to please you. They even have wine if that's your thing. Overall, I love the food. The burgers are plenty solid. Juicy, and well made, and more importantly, they are not overcooked. We have had their hash, eggs benedict, and their sausage and gravy. They are all phenomenal...that may be the beer talking, but who knows? if you are on the south side, get here, get beer, and enjoy.

Heard about this place while watching Double Ds on tv. We knew we had to try it! Being local, I was surprised I never had heard of this awesome spot. The inside is super cozy, a true pub like ambiance and lots of different brews on tap. Our waitress was super nice, very helpful with the menu and what's popular. Service was just top notch. I decided on the Brie Burger and subbed it with a Bison patty - which was AMAZING. I devoured my meal so fast, and I am very picky when it comes to burgers. This place is fantastic, so many awesome menu options and I loved how the fries were crispy and not over seasoned or dripping with oil. Everything was done perfectly, definitely was high end pub food. I also was surprised with how fast we got our meals after ordering. Literally was less than 10 minutes. If you haven't tried it here, I recommend it. We will be back to try more menu options in the near future!!

Buster's on 28th is a really cool quaint hipster type restaurant with a wide variety of menu items to suit anyone's taste

This place is always a classic go to for menu is pretty straightforward with something for everyone's taste. They have a good variety of wine and beer including a great happy hour. The service is always consistent as well as approved. One thing I would highly recommend here is the muscles *(although I was heartbroken that they were out of them today but I will come back again just to have those) that's always my go to when I come here. It has the feeling of a mid-level restaurant / dive bar feel to it yeah it's extremely welcoming. If you want to sit at the bar You can do that and watch TV if you want to set up four top during happy hour you can do that or if you want to sit in a booth up front and enjoy people watching you can do that or you can put in the way back and have an intimate date night... This place is for everyone!!

The food is delicious at Buster's! It was my first time there and my colleagues and I stopped in for a work lunch. My favorite is the Chicken Tortilla Soup, more specifically, the tortilla chips. Onion rings were great too. It's a great hole in the wall spot with great service.

WOW Atmosphere: Nice little bar, high back booths and large bar area to sit at. Eclectic decor. Clean bathrooms. Food: HOT DIGGITY. Some of the best onion rings I've ever had. I HATE ketchup, but I would eat there's every day and smother it on anything fried. The Rueben was so tender and mouthwatering. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed every bite of food at the table. Drinks: The bloody mary was sooooo good, loads of flavor and really unique. Service: Super friendly and fast. They all just had a good vibe and the energy in here was so positive. I can't wait to come back here, I'm literally drooling as I write this review..making at least one more trip to the twin cities this year because I can't make it until next year to come back.

He knew I was trying to decide and poured me a sample of his favorite without me even needing to ask, and it was a great call. There's a certain cozy energy in this place with the dim-but-not-dark lighting that makes it a nice place to relax and enjoy some food and drink. I had the prime rib french dip and it was incredibly tender and flavorful. The next time I go back I'm going to have a hard time choosing between one of the many excellent sounding dishes on the menu and just getting this sandwich again!

We decided to eat at Northbound for dinner on a bustling Independence Day Eve at 7PM. Walking up to…read morethe restaurant, it seemed like there would be a small wait, but luckily for us, a table just opened up as we walked through the doors. Even with how busy the place was, I didn't find the service to be too slow. The food took about 10 minutes to come out. Cheese Curds ($12.50) - Interesting curds. They're covered and fried in a leavened waffle batter, which gives a more airy type of crisp on the outside. It's more robust than normal cheese curd batter, but has that lighter and softer waffle crunch. The texture inside is right in between being soft and gooey but has enough firmness for a slight squeaky behavior. I actually don't prefer this texture - I massively prefer one extreme or the other, either completely squeaky, or completely softened and melted. The curds are all separated with some mini batter nubs spread around for extra crunch. The curds comes with a ranch dip that has fresh herbs in buttermilk and for some reason reminds me of thousand island in taste. (4/5) 18-hr Porketta ($17.50) + Fries Upgrade (+$2.50) - This is a very simple sandwich with Northbound's famous 18 hour porketta, some Swiss cheese melted on top, and finally some softened sliced onion in a brioche bun. The porketta is essentially pulled pork and is lean with basically no fat. It's seasoned well with a good fennel and spiced aroma The flavors are quite pronounced and while the pork is relatively tender for the cut, some fat would do some major justice. The fries are mediocre. They are clearly hand cut and fried in house, but they are a little underfried since the interiors are firm rather than fluffy and they are floppy in texture. Meh. The porketta comes with a sauce that's fruity, tangy, and acidic. It's surprisingly great for the cheese curds since the curds are so heavy and fatty. (4/5) Overall I found the food at Northbound to be good enough but nothing particularly outstanding. I certainly don't think it was worth the 45 minute round trip drive. but I wouldn't mind eating there again if I happened to be in the area in the future. The drink menu is larger than the food menu, with plenty of NA options! My husband enjoyed a hazy IPA while I opted for a BauHaus Nah. Next time I definitely want to try one of the shrub mocktails! It was hard to decide what to order, but we started with the fried brussels sprouts - a MUST get! We agreed these were some of our favorites in the city, plug it was a huge portion for just two of us. Sweet and salty with a hit of acidity from the pickled onions. For dinner, I went with the steak and my husband went with the Cuban. He wouldn't stop raving about how delicious his sandwich was, and my steak was like butter with chimichurri and yuka fries on the side. My only notes would be that the fries & steak were very bland without the chimichurri and the portion was pretty small for the price. We ended the night with the chocolate torte, which was rich and not overpowering. I couldn't really get the hazelnut flavor but I loved the cherries and juice on top. Overall, we will definitely be back to enjoy this spot more - however we might opt to do more drinks and apps than a full dinner since they have so many delicious options!
