This is an average place. It is small, not usually busy, with a small menu. The staff is fine, friendly, but not the most attentive. I order the pad kee mao, which is a noodle dish that is supposed to be spicy. Although the noodles and vegetables were fresh, the dish did not have much spice to it, even with the red colored sauce. I guess I was expecting more when it was advertised as spicy, but it's not a bad dish at all. The portion in my opinion is a little small, but the price is fairly low compared to other places, so it's not too much of a deal. read more

I hate to write this because they were my favorite Thai place in the area. I ordered Tom Kha and Pad Thai with veggies. My first bite of broccoli was gritty like there was sand in it. So I spit it out and tried another piece of broccoli, same thing. I tried just eating the Tom Kha broth with rice and it tasted like dirt. It's apparent the vegetables weren't washed. I myself love spicy, I crave for it, so I asked the wonderful owner, Troy, to make it the hottest he could(which is a 10 on the spice level. Got home, savoring every bite, and that was that. Customer Service was great! The owner treats you like family The taste was amazing, very authentic Thai food made within 7 minutes Just two issues I came across which isn't really too major to emphasize. The first being the spiciness I ordered, if you crave for spiciness like me, you want your food to be very spicy. Next time, I'll be requesting something hotter than 10, but beware, go too far and you won't be the same. My last issue is the portion of the food, the taste, and the look is there, but the portions aren't what I was expecting. It is indeed one of the best places in El Cajon, mark my words. We tried the crying tiger, the yellow curry, and the basil rice, everything tasted really good, and the spicyness of the curry was just perfect. I have an oyster allergy, and they were very careful making sure that there wasn't any cross cobtamination, to me that means a lot because I get really bad allergic reactions, and sometimes I get nrvous visiting a new place for that reason, but they were so good. Troy is the reason we come here, we stay for the food. It's such a joy to support his local and authentic business! We find it so welcoming that everyone who comes in here feels like family. He gets to know every individual that walks through his doors and makes an effort to ensure you're always satisfied! The food, unbelievable and truly satisfying to the last bite. We end up getting the pineapple fried rice with extra beef and it comes out with a curry like flavor and is always moist and delicious. I find it hard to believe that anyone will be able to compete with their rice. It's unique. The Pad See Ew is also my favorite and I always end up removing the carrots and broccoli and enjoy it with beef. It's AMAZING. The fresh herbs and spices and never oily. Very selfish of me but it's a tiny gem I don't want anyone to discover. I could give Troy and Olga 100 stars I would. The ambiance is relaxing, jazz or world music playing at a level where you can converse with one another, unlike other cafes and restaurants that blare music that leaves you with a headache, deaf, and and hoarse from having to scream in order to be heard. They are both so gracious and everything Troy makes is absolutely delicious. I don't even look or choose from the menu anymore; I just ask Troy to surprise me. That's how good it is. And the care he puts into preparing each plate is such a piece of art, I almost don't want to touch it. Prices are also great! Every time I fly in, this is the only place I go for Thai cuisine. Stopped by here on my lunch break while I was dropping off alterations next door. I was in a hurry and needed something quick, to go. I ordered the ginger beef, spicy level 8, and it was ready in 5 minutes! The people here are super friendly, and the restaurant is very clean! I'm very picky when it comes to Thai food, and this was seriously some of the best Thai food I have ever had! I would not expect this in El Cajon. Everything was so fresh, and had amazing flavor! So let's start with the good earning 1 star- Thai tea tastes great, Tom Yom BROTH only and the inside is cute. Now let's go with the bad- scallop in the Tom yom soup got spit out due to being rubbery, spicy chicken wings were cooked too much, egg rolls didn't have much flavor, Mongolian beef was way too salty and the pad see ew had a ton of onions and green onion so that flavor overpowered the whole dish.. it didn't have the normal sweet factor of pad see ew, it was more salty. The noodles were also not flat big noodles, they were the small thin noodles like in pad Thai. I also asked for water and it came in a cup with little Black pepper looking things floating in it. Not good!! All in all, this was my first and last visit. Oh & the server needs to speak up, she's unpleasantly awkward. read more

Wonderful service and excellent Thai food. The vegan menu is wonderful - our son was visiting and we all enjoyed our dinner Vegan and crazy meat eaters as well. It is a small restaurant and we enjoyed the personal service and all the statues and decor. Our table was comfortable and our waiter super helpful - checking with all diners whether they wanted egg in dishes - even before knowing one of us was a vegan. For appetizers we has fried tofu (fab and well done on the sauce) and I had the Tom Kha Soup - Coconut soup - and it was delicious and a huge bowl - not a little cup - practically a meal in itself. I had the Pad See Ewe and it was heavenly...we all shared the Mango Sticky Rice and honestly I think it the best I have had in decades. Horrible experience. I came here as a recommendation from someone and I am very disappointed. It took a while to get seated despite ringing the bell and asking for help. The boba was also very undercooked and the owner did not offer to make another one properly. It took more than 15 min to bring out a hot tea. All of the 3 plates we ordered had small portions and very little meat. We ordered a vegetarian dish with no onions and he brought it out with onions and argued about it. Honestly this place deserves 0 stars. When we walked in, we had to ring a bell and call for assistance to be seated for at least 5 minutes even though the place is small and has only 5 tables. My sister ordered a Thai tea with boba and the boba was not cooked nearly enough. It took force to chew. I ordered a chamomile tea and after 15 min I asked where it was and he said to wait because it's a small kitchen. I ordered a pad see ew with only broccoli and carrots. I said no onions. He brought it out with onions and squash. I told him I asked for only broccoli and carrots and he said I didn't and argued with me. He then interrupted me and said, ok so you don't want anymore? I said yes I want the plate how I wanted it because I'm hungry. And he rolled his eyes and walked away. We also ordered 3 other dishes and they had little portions and even less meat. No one in my party liked the food and the service was absolutely horrible. The owner also took spicy paste from our table and gave it to another table, he did not ask if it was ok or if we were done with it. I honestly have NO IDEA why this place has more than 2 Star ratings. The owner is extremely rude and inconsiderate. If you're looking for customer service or decent food this is not the place. I'm really not a fan of being negative, but I just could not believe this place had a four and a half star rating - I'm a little suspicious some of the reviews might be fake? There's just no way... I'll start by saying the service was good (friendly and we received our food quick - much appreciated for a lunch time meal), and my lunch mate's Thai Iced Tea was very good, but: The place is very small with few tables so you're packed very tightly with the other patrons, which I can understand, but our table was next to the bathroom. Seriously - door opens, I see toilet. To fit more people they placed tables down the narrow hallway leading to the back outside (trash) area, one of which is next to a supply closet and the other (ours) is next to the bathroom door. A little awkward / gross to have 5+ people come and go to do their business right next to my meal. As we were checking out I saw another table up front where one person was basically sitting in a plant and the other could not get out of their seat because they were backed into an adjacent chair at another table. We were thinking that the food must be amazing to have 4.5 stars considering the ambiance (sometimes little hole-in-the-wall places like this have the best food), so we were excited when the food came out. I'm sorry to say that was not the case. My lunch mate ordered the Drunken Noodles, and they were really dry, no sauce on the noodles, and flavorless. Mine (Pad Thai w/ Chicken) had flavor, but unfortunately it was not good. I've been to lots of Thai places and some are better than others, but I have always eaten my food until Busy B. I felt really bad but neither of us could eat more than 3-4 bites. We each paid ~$10 for food we didn't eat, and headed to Jamba Juice. I hope we just went on a day where the normal head cook was out or something, because I just can't understand where so many 4 and 5 star reviews came from. I had dinner here while in El Cajon on a business trip. It is within walking distance of the Courtyard Marriott which was nice after a day of being in a car and an office. It was a particularly hot day and it was very warm inside the restaurant. I asked if the air conditioning was broken. The waitress said it was not and asked if I would like it to be turned on. I said yes and she turned it on. In a few minutes it was very comfortable. I had the Pad See Ewe with shrimp and extra veggies. They were very generous with the extra veggies, but unfortunately the same could not be said about the shrimp. Still, it was delicious and I didn't even add any soy sauce to it like I normally do. The other customers seemed to be happy with their orders and everyone's dishes looked tasty. Try it out if you are in the area and want a good, fast, and reasonably prices Thai meal. read more
