Home of the best cookies in town, featuring their infamous brown butter pecan, Butter Pecan Bakeshop is a gem to seek out for cookie lovers! Nestled in downtown Hayward, just blocks from free parking lots and hosting its own shared lot (two dedicated parking spots), this cookie shop originating from Emeryville has made a mark here with their buttery yet crispy, handheld treats. The minds behind these creative flavor combinations have brought yet another bright spot to the flourishing community. As you get situated with parking which is usually available in the nearby lots or street side parking, immerse yourself in the city and how walkable it is despite sharing space with winding streets leading up to the nearby highways. Getting here can be a drag during peak rush hours but the middle of the day and weekends are pretty open. The storefront isn't too big as most of the space is taken up by their huge, clean and organized kitchen space. There's not a whole lot of space to dine in so most folks come in to grab their goodies and go to enjoy them elsewhere. After entering through their doors, the sweet smells will waft by your nose and have you salivating for the buttery snacks in no time. If you came hungry, be glad that they have boxes to fit your packs of 6 or 12 cookies. You won't go wrong with any of their flavors but some of their unique flavors are definitely worth a try! They also whip up some monthly flavors so be sure to visit every so often to get a new refreshing taste of their rotations. All of their cookies have the perfect balance of crispy and softness to each bite and are not especially sweet for those looking to cut back on calories. They're also all pretty big cookies, in width and depth! Brown butter pecan - indulgent, flavorful and a classic for this cookie sharing the namesake of its home Banana pudding - surprisingly good for someone who only moderately likes bananas. The fragrance and taste is refreshing Dark chocolate sea salt/walnut - the dark chocolate will satisfy that cocoa craving and the variants with sea salt or walnut gives you the choice for something more bold or something more earthy Cookies and cream - another decadent treat that's familiar in taste; for me, a definite comfort choice Cornbread with strawberry jam - a weird one on paper but upon the first bite of this beautiful looking cookie, I was hooked. Oatmeal raisin pecan - delicious and easily forgotten as a "healthier" option Tea cake - more mild in flavor and perfect for pairing with your cup of richly aromatic tea or coffee Overall, Butter Pecan Bakeshop is your perfect balance of a cookie shop - new innovative flavors yet harnessing traditional methods with classic flavors as their foundation. The cookies are priced reasonably given their size, complexity in flavors, and quality. With their variety of cookies available each time you walk in, it's a safe bet for grabbing something for a potluck, gathering, or simply as a dessert to indulge all on your own (I'm guilty)! If you aren't yet a Cookie Monster, one taste from this shop may have you craving mad for the next bite!

All the cookies we picked for our box were excellent - All 5 star quality Birthday Cake Cookie Dark Chocolate Walnut Cookies and Cream Walnut Brownie The only downside is the location with limited parking. I recommend not going during rush hour after work.

So glad that a cookie shop has finally come to Hayward. It's located right across the public library in the opposite plaza. It's kinda hidden so drive slow through the Hayward loop , stay on the left. They have a six cookie box for $23 and 12 cookies for $39. I initially was going to get 12 until I asked how many calories were in one cookie. She, the worker, said like 500+ calories for the butter pecan. So I downgraded to a six cookie box just to have less of a guilt trip. I ordered a birthday cake and one cookies and cream for my son. 1 tea cake and one banana for myself. And two chocolate chip cookies for my husband. So far I've only tried the birthday cake and the banana. And so far I'm obsessed with the first two flavors I've tried so far. But the banana is something very unique which I've not seen anywhere else and I'm going to say that it's my favorite cookie EVERR now. Their cookies are crunchy and soft at the same time. Just how I like them. . And one cookie can definitely be shared, they're big enough. Super dangerous now that there close to home. Definitely a super buttery and sweet treat.

I visited this shop on 4/17 Hands down theeeee best Carrot Cake cookie I have ever had in my life! Carrot cake is my favorite and I hope it becomes a regular menu item and not just a monthly special. We tried 5 cookies and I ranked them in order by my favorites 1. Carrot Cake cookie -10/10 the flavors are perfect and the cream cheese icing is top tier 2. Buttermilk Berry Cornbread cookie-10/10 I wasn't sure what to make of this flavor when I read the name but it tastes delightful. It's like a cornbread cake cookie, so good! 3. Banana Pudding cookie - yum it's full of banana flavor and has just the right amount of crunch outside and softness in the middle. 4. Butter Pecan chocolate - Buttery chocolate goodness 5. Cookies and Cream - The texture was a little different on this cookie, a little crunchier than the others, still tasty. Shout out to the lovely Miss Karen, she was very helpful and pleasant. Go support this business yall!

Stopped by for dessert after hearing and seeing so much craze about this place! They had a lot of great options for cookies, as well as monthly specials. I got a banana toffee cookie and a rocky road (rocky road was a monthly special!). The texture of the banana toffee cookie was SO good! It was on the thinner side with an amazing chew and had a great banana flavor. Loved it! The rocky road was also great, especially with the mix-ins. It's a softer, less dense cookie with less chew, but has that kind of slightly crispy exterior that's kind of addicting. I wish I could've tried them when they were fresh out the oven! I will note that these cookies are very sweet, so perfect for someone with a sweet tooth, but for someone with w not-so-sweet tooth, enjoying a couple bites at a time works too! The place itself is nice and clean and the people working there are so kind and easy to talk to! They also gave me some recommendations because I was having pretty bad choice paralysis hahah. Would totally see myself coming back to try monthly specials or getting a box to bring into work :)

Their Butter Pecan cookie lives up to their shop name. It was so good! They have several unique flavors plus fun seasonal ones. My top 3 so far are the Butter Pecan, Banana Pudding and Corn Bread. They have a little parking spot in front of shop, but also street and free garage parking across the street.

Great cookies! Ordered for pickup around 2pm on a Sunday and the earliest pickup time was 4pm (but got an email saying my order was ready at 2:44). As others said, they have a small parking lot which makes pickup easier. Cookies themselves were great. Haven't tried all flavors as we got half a dozen but I did take a quick bite of the cookies and cream along with the brown butter pecan. Microwaving them is even better. Slightly crispy edges and soft middle. Brown butter was my favorite over the cookies and cream, but both are good. Dark chocolate chip is tasty as well - can't really tell that it's dark chocolate and didn't have much salty, but just tasted like a good chocolate chip. Banana pudding is on the lighter side, although the name makes it sound more rich. It reminded me of a snickerdoodle in a way but the banana isn't overpowering at all. Will return to try out their other flavors.

Butter Pecan Bakeshop opened recently where Soheila Bakery was. Same serving counter. Same lack of adequate parking spaces. No seating. Greeted courteously quickly upon entry. Ready to serve. Deferred until more cookies arrived. Got service when I was ready. Limited 12 different cookies served daily. "Southern- inspired home style cookies baked fresh" cooked in 12 cookie batches. Quick turnover. Cookies tend to be crispier, crunchy & smaller than competition. Also more dense internally. Not as chewy. Cookies 3.95@. Buy 6, get 1 free with coupon on back of flyer showing cookie selections. Bites: cookies 3.95 each. -brown butter pecan: crispy, crunchy exterior. Firm inner texture. Buttery essence, crunchy pecans faintly noticed. -dark chocolate+sea salt: crispy, crunchy exterior. Moist gooey interior from dark chocolate chips. Slightly buttery. Faint sea salt prescene. 4.5 stars. Worthy occasionally. Service great. quality: baked fresh in small batches. Quantiy: smaller than competition.

A new establishment, clean and well organized. Have good parking where you don't have to park on a heavy traffic Main Street. The gals are very welcoming and friendly. Explaining the diff fav and mixture of cookies. We love them all and will definitely visit again.

Stopped by Butter Pecan Bake Shop after a soccer game and instantly got hit with the most amazing buttery smell, seriously heavenly. Came around 4pm on a rainy Saturday and there was still a long line out the door (always a good sign). While waiting, I watched cookies disappear one by one, but fresh batches kept coming out. I ended up waiting about 15 minutes for my cookies, worth it. Tried the cookies & cream, chocolate chip sea salt (perfect sweet/salty balance), and banana toffee, which was surprisingly delicious and not overly banana-y. Loved that they don't rush the process, they make you wait so the cookies set properly. Also, the crowd was just as sweet as the cookies, everyone was chatting and in a good mood. Pro tip: There's a parking lot in the back, and order ahead if you want the best chance at trying all the flavors! Will definitely be back (earlier next time!).

I've been seeing so many posts about this new bakery on all my social media! Facebook, Instagram and TikTok! For my boyfriends birthday I decided to bring him here to get him some celebratory cookies. They bakery is conveniently located and I love that they have a sign that shows where to turn! It was super easy to find! The inside is cute, basic but warm. The gal at the counter was so kind, she let us know business has been very good and that made me so happy! She answered all my questions and I found out that they have limited edition cookies! From what I understood, at least 2 cookies change every month. The cookies were absolutely delicious! We tried 6 different cookies; 7up cake, birthday cake, dark chocolate with sea salt, brown butter pecan, cookies and cream, and their tea time cookie! They were all absolutely delicious! The perfect size which was bigger than we imagined- my boyfriend thought they'd be very flat but they actually had some good height to them! We loved the crunchy buts around the cookie and absolutely loved the softness of the inside! They were delicious and the price point to me doesn't matter. I love supporting small business' and with them tasting so good- I didn't mind paying a little extra. They were delicious! We will be back soon and can't wait to see the new limited flavors for next month!

Butter Pecan Bakeshop first opened in Pinole about 5 years ago and has since franchised 5 other locations: Emeryville, Pleasant Hill, Fairfield, Vallejo and now Downtown Hayward. Butter Pecan is known for their thick and chewy cookies with their signature: Brown Butter and Pecans. Nutty, buttery, toffee-ish with a soft center and crispy edges. I'm a big fan of their signature but they offer many popular (at least 8) flavors like: Cookies & Cream, Banana Toffee, Brownie & Walnut with unique Monthly Specials like a 7-Up and Mint Cream for the Month of March. Place no nonsense with cookies displayed behind glass with simple signage. Service friendly, storefront is set up for pickup only. No seating available. PRICING: $3.95/cookie, 6/$23, 12/$39 Located across the Hayward Library near Falafel Flare (worth a visit!) and Rummi Market (check it out) with reserved spots for each place. I only saw 4 designated spots reserved for Butter Pecan with more in the municipal lot. NAVIGATING the ridiculous Hayward Loop: once on Mission (southbound), get in your far left lane to make that quick turn into driveway after B Street.

    Poor communication.

Having to attend a party tomorrow, I contacted the store earlier today. I wanted to place an order for pickup at 10:30am tomorrow morning. My first call to the shop, the person who answered the phone said that I would have to place my order online. Sure. The earliest pickup is 12:00pm. That does not work for me. I called again, no answer. The third time I called I explained that their online ordering only allows 12pm as the earliest pickup. The young lady on the phone said that she would speak to her manager/owner and get back to me if they could move the time up. They close in a few minutes and no one got back to me. I will be going by Denica's in Castro Valley tomorrow morning for cookies. They are always delicious and consistent in service.

It's in a corner of a very cute gourmet food hall and had a good selection of goods left in mid-afternoon on a weekday. Service is also friendly and prompt. I had to get the kouign amann because I always get one wherever I can, and also picked up a plain croissant, currant scone, and panna cotta. The KA was decent; I would call this one a diet KA because they only put the sugar on one side so it was more like a brulee'd croissant. I also have to admit that, while this shaping is very attractive, the direction of the lamination makes eating this feel like shards in my mouth. However, flavor was excellent. The plain croissant is very plain. It's decent but I've had better. The scone and panna cotta, however, were delightful. Both had lovely soft textures and wonderful creamy flavors. The scone held up for two days and wasn't even a bit stale when I finally had it for breakfast. Highly recommend this tucked-away bakery in the Castro Valley!

Seven Hills Baking Co was my first stop as I haven't had sourdough since childhood. I got their classic sourdough loaf. Even though it wasn't warm anymore it was still amazing. It was quite hard to cut into with a serrated bread knife, which I'm not sure whether that's normal or abnormal for gluten sourdough. However, the inside was lovely and soft. Nice strong sour flavor, spongy dough that was almost moist (not at all dry). I want to note on the gluten free front that seven hills baking co offers a few items which they advertise to be gluten free. Though the ingredients may be gluten free, the items are baked in the same kitchen, the same oven, and then put side by side with the gluten in the display case. Furthermore I don't believe their ingredients are all certified gluten free. Therefore I do not recommend seven hills baking co for anybody with celiac disease. Do not buy your friend with a gluten allergy or celiac these items. There is most certainly cross contact.
