So glad that a cookie shop has finally come to Hayward. It's located right across the public library in the opposite plaza. It's kinda hidden so drive slow through the Hayward loop , stay on the left. They have a six cookie box for $23 and 12 cookies for $39. I initially was going to get 12 until I asked how many calories were in one cookie. She, the worker, said like 500+ calories for the butter pecan. So I downgraded to a six cookie box just to have less of a guilt trip. I ordered a birthday cake and one cookies and cream for my son. 1 tea cake and one banana for myself. And two chocolate chip cookies for my husband. So far I've only tried the birthday cake and the banana. And so far I'm obsessed with the first two flavors I've tried so far. Great cookies! Ordered for pickup around 2pm on a Sunday and the earliest pickup time was 4pm (but got an email saying my order was ready at 2:44). As others said, they have a small parking lot which makes pickup easier. Cookies themselves were great. Haven't tried all flavors as we got half a dozen but I did take a quick bite of the cookies and cream along with the brown butter pecan. Microwaving them is even better. Slightly crispy edges and soft middle. Brown butter was my favorite over the cookies and cream, but both are good. Came around 4pm on a rainy Saturday and there was still a long line out the door (always a good sign). While waiting, I watched cookies disappear one by one, but fresh batches kept coming out. I ended up waiting about 15 minutes for my cookies, worth it. Tried the cookies & cream, chocolate chip sea salt (perfect sweet/salty balance), and banana toffee, which was surprisingly delicious and not overly banana-y. Having to attend a party tomorrow, I contacted the store earlier today. I wanted to place an order for pickup at 10:30am tomorrow morning. My first call to the shop, the person who answered the phone said that I would have to place my order online. Sure. The earliest pickup is 12:00pm. That does not work for me. I called again, no answer. The third time I called I explained that their online ordering only allows 12pm as the earliest pickup. The young lady on the phone said that she would speak to her manager/owner and get back to me if they could move the time up. They close in a few minutes and no one got back to me. I've been seeing so many posts about this new bakery on all my social media! Facebook, Instagram and TikTok! For my boyfriends birthday I decided to bring him here to get him some celebratory cookies. They bakery is conveniently located and I love that they have a sign that shows where to turn! It was super easy to find! The inside is cute, basic but warm. The gal at the counter was so kind, she let us know business has been very good and that made me so happy! Newish cookie shop in downtown Hayward. Not visible from the main streets, gotta go into a parking lot between big buildings. It's next door to a middle eastern market. Upon walking in I knew it was going to be legit just from the aroma lingering in the air. The smell of butter, sugar, vanilla and chocolate hung thick in the air. I just knew they were using honest basic ingredients versus industrial baking ingredients. It's basically a counter with glass case, with cookies of various flavors lined up in display. Just pick and point or create an assortment that they'll put in a bag or box. Cookies were about $4 ea, 6 for $23 or a dozen for $39. Not cheap but most of these cookies are pretty big, like the size of my palm. And is anything really cheap anymore? But I did find the price to be justifiable after trying a half dozen, they do make people happy. The one thing I did find a little strange is that their cookies can vary in size and weight. The basic chocolate chip type cookies are thinner and develop a nice crisp undercarriage. Then they have these more cake-y types (maybe from their 'Southern' selection) that are much thicker and heavier. Those aren't as crisp and definitely deviates from most people's association with cookies. Brown Butter Pecan (5*) This one is one of their thinner types, which I prefer as I love a crisp bottom but a semi chewy interior. Totally taste everything in the name in good balance. Will be one of my anchor cookies from here on out. Dark Chocolate + Sea Salt (4*) Their Chocolate Chip but made more adult with big pockets of melted dark chocolate. And love how the sweet butter flavor mingles with a touch of salty. Totally elevates their product. Lots of chocolate too, almost seemed 50% chocolate. Banana Pudding (3*) This is one of their thicker and cake-ier types. Heavy like I eat these thicker ones in 2 servings. Very faint banana flavor, actually get more vanilla. And I saw a big lighter hued spot that may have been a vanilla wafer, but not sure. Walnut Brownie (4*) This is a thick and dark cookie. Semi crisp yet thick and chewy. Very rich but the walnuts complements that richness. I would get this again. Berry Cookie (3.5*) Another thicker type, white basic cookie dough with dabs of strawberry jam in the middle. Euro in concept but American in sensibilities. Dark Chocolate/Walnut (4.5*) Pretty much that Choc Chip version but with added nuts, which imo makes it better. I would always get this version over the one without nuts. They seem pretty popular already so be patient if a line does form. If more than 5 people line up then it may start to reach the door. Imma try and always get a cookie or 2 anytime I'm eating in this downtown area. I prefer a basic crisp cookie with chocolate and nuts over a fancy slice of cake/pastry. Visited this new Butter Pecan Cookie shop in Hayward the day after their grand opening, and while I'm optimistic about the potential, there are definitely a few things that need some fine-tuning. First, the cookies themselves are quite tasty with a good base and flavor, though I did find mine to be slightly undercooked--though that could just be a result of the high demand as they're trying to turn them out fast. The prices are in line with places like Crumbl, but I'd say the texture could be a little more consistent. However, the biggest downside was the business process and customer service. The store seemed a bit overwhelmed with the crowd, and that affected the overall experience. I was told that a couple of cookies I had ordered were "on pause" and would need some "extra time" to cool. That was fine, but after about 10 minutes of waiting, we were informed that the wait would be 30 minutes (a time point of reference was not given at first just a "couple of minutes"). At that point, we had already paid for 12 cookies but were still waiting on just two. Meanwhile, they continued to serve other customers, which was frustrating as most of the cookies were gone by the time they addressed us again. I think the shop could benefit from clearer communication around wait times--perhaps updating their verbiage to manage expectations better. For example, if cookies aren't available, it'd be helpful to be given a realistic timeframe or just suggest another cookie already on display, especially when customers are already waiting. It just felt a bit disorganized, and I'd chalk that up to being a new store with employees still finding their rhythm. While I'm not sure I'll be back until enough time has passed for the kinks to be worked out and the crowds die down, I'll give another location a try in the future. There's potential here, but a bit more polish on the process and customer communication would go a long way. That said, the cookies do have a solid foundation, so I'm hopeful they'll improve with time. read more

My co worker would buy these cookies and I would always get so excited when she brings them bc they are SO freakin good!!! The chocolate chip are to die for!!
