One word to describe this place. Trustworthy. I recently received a check engine light and did a personal diagnose using one of those code readers. Codes led to an issue pointing towards emissions; my balls dropped an inch in dreading a fix that would cost me more than a good night with an escort. Gave this place a call and Eric asked me to come in so he can take a look at it. Came in, palms as sweaty as my sack. He ran his test, took a look, and pointed out it was a simple crack on my gasoline cover. Sold me a replacement, took around 30 min to fix, and I was on my way with my escort budget intact. So if you are going to change to an APPOINTMENT ONLY system, you should let your loyal, and regular customers know and communicate this clearly. Showed up at 8:25, and I couldn't get a simple oil change. Not cool. I would've set this appointment a week ago had I known. This place has usually always been accommodating, but my schedule is very tight, and it's looks like I have wasted over an hour of my morning for nothing. I brought in my car for a transmission flush after finding this shop on Yelp. Eric was super helpful, informative, and straightforward about the work needed to be done on my car. The prices quoted for repairs and parts replacement were reasonable and I got a sweet discount as a first time customer. Although I did have to take a little bit more time to wait for the last quart needed for the transmission (I don't blame the shop for this, this was the fault of the other company who was in charge of delivering it and their delays), my car was back to driving smoothly right in time for going back to the office. Great first time experience after new management. Unfortunately, I had to come yesterday after my Mini Cooper S decided to make a weird 'put put' noise and decreased engine output from accelerating a bit aggressively. Luckily, I was able to come in BYOC and had a pleasure to speak to, Eric. His shop was closing soon so I let the vehicle with them overnight and first thing in the morning I was left with a message stating that the car had one faulty ignition coil so after he confirmed with me, the car was ready before noon. Excellent service overall. Been here 2x so far and brought in my 2017 Honda Civic that had an a/c issue that would make loud sloshing noises whenever I turned on the a/c. Apparently this is a common issue for this model and year. I took my car in because I noticed misfiring when accelerating passed 60mph and when idle. My engine was shaking and sounded pretty bad. I needed help quick and found BYOC here on yelp. I'm big on ratings and their customer service proved it. I called and spoke to Eric, very professional, and was able to repair right away. He uncovered it was my ignition coils and spark plugs. Now my car runs smoother than when I first got it. I did call other shops but it was Eric's customer service that sold me, that goes a long way. Carlos at the reception provided an itemized cost for the oil change. The experience was smooth as I got in and out pretty soon. Eric was also pretty flexible moving around the appointment. Came here for two relatively complicated repairs for my Mazda CX-5. One is for clogged heater core replacement and coolant leakage repair. The quote I got from Eric is much more reasonable that the other shops I asked. The 2nd one is for rebuilding my failed transmission. Eric is honest and responsive to the questions I had, and he is responsible for the work he did. I had a unusual issue after the transmission fix, and he was able to quickly take care of it without hesitation. I recently took my 2009 Mazda 3s into BYOC and Eric took awesome care of me! From the time I phoned him to let him know I was having car trouble, I was in good hands. It was easy to schedule an appointment, it didn't take long to find availability, I was able to get a ride back to my place, and the car was in and out in one day, including troubleshooting. Scope of work included diagnostic, an alternator replacement, and some tidying up of cables and filters. Excellent quality of work and great warranty terms to back it up. Brought my 2012 Ford Transit Connect to see if they could diagnose why there was so much engine vibration. The head mechanic Juan and I took the van for a quick drive so that I could show him what i've been experiencing. As soon as I started it up, he looked at me and said that the motor mounts needed to be replaced. We found out that all (3) isolation engine mounts were basically dust. I had to get back to work. But I was able to drop it off the next morning. Eric told me that it would be done around 3pm-ish. Jumped in a Lyft and off to work I went. Eric called me before 3 pm and told me it was all done. Hopped a ride with a co-worker and got there just before 3 pm. After all the paperwork was done, I got in the van, started it up, and was pleasantly suprised to hear...a very quiet cabin! Great Job Guys! Great place to bring your car in for service! Pricing is pretty much in line with the other shops (I checked around). Definitely give these guys a chance to work on your ride. First they've tried to sell me diagnostic for 170$, and when I've specifically asked just for a quick read of the code, they wanted to charge me 25$. BYOC had our battery model in stock, charged a fair price and installed it for us all on the same day! Made my day so much better and saved us a lot of time. Eric is one of the most communicative Master Techs I've had the pleasure of working with. He is punctual, concise and clearly knows his stuff. His dealer experience is clearly showcased during the PPI (Pre-Purchase Inspection) on a used Mini Cooper my wife and I were interested in purchasing. UPDATE: Carlos called me personally to see how to win me over as a customer and we agreed to resume with the oil change with the already-paid amount. It is great to see a business owner with this much attention and care for customer satisfaction. Carlos can see the big picture. INITIAL REVIEW: I cannot speak for Carlos (shop owner) but his interim shop manager Miguel is a difficult individual to work with. I brought my 2010 Honda Civic because my car had shown 15% oil life just 15 days after I got an Oil Change outside. I asked Miguel to inspect my car and give me an answer for what happened. We agreed on the typical $120/hour rate to have it inspected. I get a call 1/2 hour later saying they couldn't find any leakage or damaged gaskets under the car but DID NOT GIVE ME AN EXPLANATION FOR WHERE THE OIL WENT besides "it was consumed". I hadn't driven the car any more unreasonably or left it out of sight. Miguel gave me 2 options of either getting an oil change with them ($65) + reduce inspection cost or charge me $60 for basically not telling me what happened to my oil... I tried to reason for something in the middle but Miguel wasn't willing to listen and eventually lost a customer. It was disheartening to have been forced to pay $60 and still not get a resolution to what happened to my car during those 15 day read more
