So I had hopes for this place.. The kids burger was decent, the kids hotdog was some sort of short dog.. at $11 are we really short changin kids on hot dogs ?? I think it was servers 1st day, she was clueless when we asked questions about the menu, or other sides or when we asked what salad dressings she was struggling like it was an SAT question.. Soups and apps came out same Time as the dinner, so that sucked. I got fried seafood and got sick within minutes and that came up while in the bathroom. I had to visit CabbyShack to see if the rumors were true that they have the best clam chowder. I ordered two New England staples. The clam chowder and the lobster roll. I am happy to the report that the clam chowder lived up to the hype. Perfectly creamy, with the perfect blend of clams and potatoes. So yummy... It was the best clam chowder I've tasted! The lobster roll was packed with large chunks of lobster and I think a dab of mayo on top. Although it was quite tasty it was not quite up to the standards of the best lobster rolls. The lobster may have been a bit overcooked. My fries, and my girlfriend's fries, came out cold. We had a great waitress and she quickly brought out a fresh warm batch of fries that were much better. This place is fine for a quick bite. It's not fancy food, and service is just average. You can always expect a wait for outdoor seating on either deck in the summer months. Absolutely horrible experience the wait time is absolutely crazy! There are no disability accessible bathrooms. 1 normal size stall, and not to mention THERE WAS POOP ON THE TOILET SEATS. Never going to the bathroom here ever! I would rather piss in a cup. The food was good not to mention my buddy is disabled and had a scheduled back spinal surgery the next day. They had some new POS system and nobody seemed fully trained. They had to delete my transaction and credit it back. It took like 15 mins. to get my card back. We sat at the outside bar area and sat there over 20 mins. Before we were asked if we even wanted a drink. It took about an hour to complete dinner and the portions seemed smaller than last time we were there. It seemed like everything was being counted. The fish and chips had minimal fries and the plate was very small. I ordered a Sauvignon blanc and was asked if it was 6 oz. Or 9 oz. I said 9 and was served 6. Overall, it was a bad experience. There are so many great places in Plymouth. I wouldn't choose this one. In their efforts to cut corners, sadly they will be cutting customers. read more

They felt they were rudely treated, and it was difficult for them to get a table, even though they were willing to wait it was not encouraged for them to do so. will not go so far as to say it was racist, but it was pretty close. I misread the sign on my GPS and thought it had said "Crabby" Shack so I was expecting a menu just filled with fried or steamed varieties of seafood LOL This gem is in fact called the Cabbyshack because the first three letters "CAB" are the owners initials bf I believe his friends called him Cabby growing up. What's unique about the owner is that he has literally worked in every restaurant position known to man before owning this place. So he not only understands what his employees go through to make his place successful but he also equally knows how to appreciate them as well. I lived seeing that they had pictures scrolling of staff who were employees of the month for the current period and from the previous on their TV screens! Read through some of the negative reviews and to be honest, those people just sound like little whiners and complainers about every little thing in their lives. Y'all need better hobbies.... Just to address some of the hate because there is always 2 sides to every story: 1. When you first open up the menu, yes, there is a plethora of fried food selections on ONE page. However continue opening up to the rest of the expansive menu and you'll see that there are a number of Blackboard Chef specials as well that would blow your mind. So no, this is not your typical fried seafood Extravaganza kind of place. So please look at the entire menu before you judge, just saying. 2. If you come on a holiday weekend, for an example July 4th, yes they will charge you a $50 reservation fee just in case you don't show up because July 4th is a prime weekend for them and since they are front and center of where the fireworks are, no matter what kind of Celebration you are celebrating, it's still a national holiday and you will get charged if you do not show up. Which I think is fair. 3. If you are from out of state, in Massachusetts they require a second form of ID when they card you. So just because you couldn't drink because you didn't look of age to drink and didn't have said second form of ID don't just leave a crabby review that isn't at all true just because you're sober for once. 4. I don't know how much y'all eat at home, but the portions here are not small, as one- reviewer claimed they were, but quite generous and is appropriate for what they charge. Chef Rob Bono is a James Beard award winner who has worked at many famous and upscale establishments in his career. His Creations here are made with classic technique and inventive flavors and thoughtful execution. Trying to raise the bar Indy quality of food that is served at the cabbyshack oh, and he is most definitely accomplishing that here. His award winning New England clam chowder is killer. Put that over some of their fries or clam fritters and it's literal heaven in a bowl. Really enjoyed, their lobster roll, that was NOT drowning in mayo and had a nice crunch with the addition of some fresh celery. The Bacon Scalepeño with a little spice bite, the sweet from an orange gastrique, salt and smoke from the bacon and the creamy bite of the pan seared scallop was perfect. Try the overstuffed stuffed quahog, and make sure it's truly toasted on the outside, The creamiest and crunchiest polenta frits, and the housemade lobster raviolis. They had curbside service and a friend had just recommended their lobster roll. We knew they were a bit pricey at $23.95 small and $33.95 for a large but we were ok as long as they were delicious! I am sorry to say they were absolutely tasteless! I mean I couldn't even tell I was eating lobster. I truly think it was frozen because of its texture.
