    Twelve Ounce Ribeye Steak
    Beryl D.

Absolutely loved everything about this place. It was nothing short of amazing. We enjoyed our food, drinks, and service provided by Raymond M. My 2 girlfriends and I split the ribeye. We got it medium, and it was like butter. We also got the Boudin balls and crab gratin, and they were amazing. We split the Warm Maple Brown Butter Cake and it was so delicious! It would've tasted better with ice cream. The ambience was sophisticated, meant for special occasions and date night. I highly recommend.

Let's start off by talking about the service and hospitality! This has been one of the most amazing experiences I've ever had. I came for my anniversary and every staff member that passed by made sure to wish my partner and I a happy anniversary. The service for our food was QUICK! I mean QUICK and fresh. Bernardo was one of the most amazing waiters I've ever came across. The food is renowned for a reason. I'm not a big steak fan and THIS is a steak I'd come back for. We of course had to get the chicken fried ribeye and it was 10/10. The ribeye was thick and soft and the breading was crispy. Idk how they do it! The restaurant itself was so nice for a date night. Not overly crowded or noisy but still lively

Wow!! This is the best food, service, and ambiance for a romantic night. Chris did a wonderful job taking care of us. His recommendations did not disappoint. I am a native Texan, I do not believe in putting sauce on steak. Steak should stand alone. I may have found an exception with their garlic bearnaise sauce. It tastes like garlic ranch and takes the steak to the next level. Carrot soup was delicious, the pepitas add a wonderful crunch and oaky flavor to the soup. Warmed Goat cheese delicious and full of flavor with the berries accompanied - the toast crisped to perfection. I could go on and on. Even the hand soap was amazing and I bought it at the host stand. Truly a memorable experience. We will be back!!

This place sits at over 1000 reviews with a consistent four star rating. Needless to say this place is very popular and it is definitely wise to make a reservation as we did. One thing that makes this restaurant unique is that there are actually cabins situated directly across from the restaurant that you can rent out and stay in known as the Cotton Gin Village. We were seated in one of the upstairs dining rooms with lots of wine on display. One draw about this place is their incredible selection of Texas wines. They also feature some Texas beers and great signature cocktails, even wine flights. We started with Ron YatesCabernet and a martini. They do offer several of the Texas wines by the glass, nothing from CA. There's only a choice of 10 entrées on the menu and 8 appetizers all of which are enticing. They do give you a sample of their carrot soup, but no complementary bread. I decided on the chicken fried ribeye and paired it with the Reddy cab. My wife had the grilled pork tenderloin medallions. The chicken fried ribeye was very tender with plenty of lobster chunks on top and no gristle whatsoever. The pork medallions were equally as delicious and the 3 cheese grits were a perfect pairing. We cleaned our plates and had no room for dessert. We enjoyed every bite and Kyle our waiter was exceptional as our server. We look forward to returning and trying something new off the menu. Perfect place for great food and well-made Texas wine. Informative photos and video included.

Delightful dinner at Cabernet Grill this evening! Very cool place, unique venue, old country Texas style. Cabernet Grill has been serving up great grub for 20+ years. There's a reason! Christopher was our waiter tonight... well done! Complimentary sample of the carrot soup was very good! We opened with the wedge salad... on point! Throughout the meal we enjoyed Texas' own Heath Vineyards sparkling wine... delicious! We next tried the magic mushrooms... very different, but we went with the waiter's rec on that. Amazing! For entrees we shared the NY strip, smothered in gorgonzola and mushrooms, and the sautéed flounder in cream sauce, crawfish tails and capers. Both were over the top good! The blackberry crisp/Mexican vanilla ice cream dessert perfectly rounded out the meal. A small dish of complimentary chocolate mole covered almonds was awesome. Cozy, comfortable place, great and friendly staff, off the chart food, 5-stars all day everyday! Highly recommend Cabernet Grill!

Must visit! Edie, our server, was wonderful! She was so personable and attentive, and she really made the experience stand out. The 10 oz strip was excellent, perfectly cooked and a great value. The flounder was a bit too fishy for my taste, so I'd probably skip that next time. Both sides, the three-cheese grits and mixed vegetables, were well prepared and flavorful. The lemon crème brûlée was incredible, even as someone who doesn't usually go for lemon, I loved it. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is a great mix of modern with subtle Texas and wine-inspired touches. Overall, a great experience!

we had the opportunity to have our anniversary dinner at Cabernet Grill while in Fredericksburg for the weekend! The spot has a romantic yet comfortable vibe and is perfect for a date night or dinner! I was recommended the sous vide chicken and it did not disappoint! The chicken thighs were fork tender and the potatoes were delicious! My husband had a shrimp and they were also good! I'm not normally a seafood person, but I even had a few. We also had to drop biscuits and the roasted carrot soup as an appetizer and both were delicious. The soup was surprisingly satisfying and tasty! Service is great and our server has great recommendations!

Great service from Brett at the Bar Cabin while we waited for our table, he made us an Old Fashioned and Bees Knees, both with his own twist, both very yummy!! The service by Michael and the team was great during our meal, definitely recommend for drinks and a meal. The site includes old timer cabins and wonderful outdoor vibe.

I'll treat this as an update to a review I did in May of 2023. The experience this year was far better than what we experienced in 2023. This was my wife's birthday and we reserved a table for 6:30 pm which worked out perfectly after a long day of wine tasting. The atmosphere was exactly as we had experienced last time, but this time we sat inside the restaurant instead of outside. It was pleasant, not noisy, and had a very nice semi-formal dinner vibe. Our server (Edie) was very gracious and friendly. She quickly sat us and filled water glasses, brought menus and let us know that there were no specials (my thought was "after all this was a Wednesday night ;0)") There was a very nice card at our table wishing my wife a happy birthday, and Edie brought us a complimentary small serving of a very delicious soup (Roasted Carrot & Ancho); nice touch! I ordered a Hill Country Martini, which was delicious (ice cold with jalapeno-stuffed olives). They do have a date night special offering on the menu, but that would have been too much for us. We decided to each order a salad (I had the Steak Knife Wedge and my wife had the Tejas Ranch Caesar). We wanted to split the 14-ounce ribeye as we had a fairly decent lunch during our wine tour. The salads were large and full of great stuff! The wedge was loaded with chunks of blue cheese and bacon over ice cold lettuce. My wife's Caesar was delicious, and the dressing was perfect. Our steak was cooked to perfection (medium-rare) and served with mixed grilled veggies that were amazing. The steak was perfectly flavored, with amazing char, and mated perfectly with my martini. For dessert, we were provided a free piece of delicious cheesecake (birthday celebration for my wife) and it was very, very good! Overall, this was a much better experience than we had in 2023 and we will most certainly be back for more! Ambiance - 10/10 Service - 10/10 Food - 10/10 Value - 10/10

We finally were in Fred on a night they were open. Got a great table off to the back. High ceilings and nice decor. The service was excellent. Loved the sip of carrot soup he brought out. Also loved all of the TX wine on the menu. More places should get with the program. I had the pan seared flounder with crab and crawfish tails. It was nice but a little over cooked. The wife had filet kabobs that were also nice. Good dining experience but I was expecting to be a little more wowed with the food. Took a piece of pistachio cheesecake home. Different.

This is a really good place. Took a road trip from Houston and decided to give it a try and happy we did. Nice decor with that hill country vibe. And not too noisy either! Was promptly seated even though our party of four was 30+ minutes earlier than our reservation time. Waiter was professional, friendly and prompt in taking our pre-dinner cocktail order and providing menu options. We opted for the $95 per person tasting option wine pairing which was a really good bargain. You got to select 1 of 3 each appetizer, salad, entree, and dessert options. All excellent choices. Will I go back? Absolutely!

Truly a 5 star experience all the way around. The setting and decor is rustic, fitting for the wine country. The service was far above average and I would say better than the typical upscale restaurant. The drinks were good, maybe not the greatest but we appreciated the ingenuity and the fact that all ingredients were Texas based. The food, this is where it really shines! Fried deviled eggs?? Never heard of such but they were amazing! A chicken fried steak.. pretty common in this area of the country but elevated with a lobster topped gravy. My wife had a grilled chicken dish and was very complimentary of the balsamic glaze and the mashed sweet potatoes. For dessert we had a baklava pistachio cheesecake. I'm a fan of pistachio and this was a great take on a cheesecake! My son ordered a salted caramel crème brûlée. He felt it could use a bit more browning on top as he didn't quite get the caramelization he was hoping for. We live about 2.5 hours away but this place might be enough to make us contemplate a day trip every few months.

Came here for an anniversary dinner and it was perfect! They text you before your reservation about a little bar on the premise for pre-dinner drinks which was a fun surprise. They had a Chex mix type snack mix at the bar that was so good and available for purchase in the restaurant. Inside is very cozy and nice. Soon after we sat down and ordered drinks they brought out a free sample of the carrot soup and it was so tasty. The fish with lump crab meat and crawfish was great. The bread pudding was amazing! Highly recommend for a nice dinner and great drinks in Fredericksburg.

From the moment we arrived, the experience fell short. The live music should have added to the atmosphere, but the vocals were frequently off-key with an unpleasant, nasal quality that made the music more distracting than enjoyable. The beverage service was equally underwhelming. Water was served at room temperature without ice, and the beer arrived in a glass with a noticeable metallic, unclean odor that made me question whether the glass had been properly cleaned. We decided to order Cokes instead, only to find that soft drinks were available by the can rather than from a fountain. Unfortunately, the food did nothing to improve the experience. I ordered the Caribbean shrimp tacos, but the shrimp arrived barely warm and did not seem freshly prepared, so I sent the dish back rather than eat it. My wife's pasta was extremely bland and under-seasoned; she had to request salt and pepper just to give it some flavor. My friend ordered a burger, which appeared to be a basic frozen-style patty served on a plain white bun. Nothing about the meal reflected the level of quality we expected. Taken individually, some of these issues might have been easy to overlook. Taken together--the disappointing live entertainment, lackluster beverages, questionable glassware, and low-quality food--they made for an experience that simply wasn't worth the time or money. This was essentially our final dinner in Fredericksburg for the weekend, which made it particularly disappointing given how many enjoyable restaurants and wineries we experienced during our visit. I do want to give credit where it is deserved: despite everything else being well below expectations, the wait staff and manager were genuinely kind, professional, and apologetic about our experience. They listened to our concerns and ultimately comped the food because of the problems we encountered. I sincerely appreciated the way they handled the situation, and my criticism is not directed at the staff--the service and their response were easily the best part of the experience. Unfortunately, good service couldn't make up for the overall quality of the food and drinks. Based on our experience, I would not return and cannot recommend the restaurant.

Vibe is euro-bistro and the staff is perfectly attentive. Prices are high, but honestly aligned to the quality of the food, at least the dishes we had were worth the prices. Food: Buttermilk Fried Chicken, with Onion/Bacon flash fried collard greens, whipped potatoes and house gravy and Jalapeno Cornbread for $32 Reuben on Marble Rye for $24 16oz Stella Artois for $10 We agreed that the fried chicken (5/5) was the best we could remember having. Whipped potatoes (5/5) were light, fluffy and perfect taste/texture. The gravy was like brown butter (5/5). The collard greens (5/5) were flash fried and if you've never had them like this, it's like eating collard green potato chips. Cornbread (3/4) was a bit too delicate and sweet for our taste. You couldn't pick it up without it falling apart. The Ruben (3/5). My wife loves a good Ruben sandwich. This one had the makings of a good one, but they use a Thousand Island sauce (too much of it) on the sandwich, and it hides the flavor of the meat. Next time we would ask for the sandwich without the TI sauce, see if that improves the rating. The sandwich came with house made potato chips (5/5), a small house salad with vinaigrette (5/5) and a large, pickled cucumber. I know, that's a pickle, but these are cucumbers that have gone maybe a third of the way through the process, so the cucumber taste is really prevalent. Lastly, we had the Creme Brulé (3/5) for dessert. It was nice, but the custard was coffee and caramel flavored, and we prefer the standard custard look and flavor. The caramel should come from the top layer, not the custard. The top layer was a bit too thick as well. We liked it, just didn't love it. Overall, quality food, service and vibe with prices that are aligned to more special occasions than everyday eating out. We'll be back to try the Monday Crawfish Etoufee and the Tuesday Duck Confit daily specials...look too good to pass up.

BEST BITES: - Grilled lamb rack (cooked perfectly, juicy, flavorful, and the herbed tzatziki on the side is amazing) - Dark chocolate hazelnut cookie (get one to go if you're too full... you won't regret it) THE VERDICT: This was my first visit to Vaudeville (it came highly recommended) and I enjoyed my meal overall. With how expensive it is, I don't think I'll be returning and probably would only recommend it to others if they really want to splurge and don't have any other options.
