Thank you Cabins4Less for the perfect last minute vacation! Not only was it a GREAT deal with no outrageous cleaning fees, but the cabin was a beautiful lakefront property. I was able to book last minute and check in by 10PM. The gentleman working the front was so accommodating and even upgraded us! We had a lovely 2 story cabin with 3 bedrooms (able to sleep 7-8) and 2.5 baths. Normally a place like this will cost upwards of 300 a night. The only inconvenience is you have to either being your own sheets or pay $7 for them. Which is nothing at all compared to the savings you are already making. We were located right next to the village and the beds even had sleep number! This place was perfect and I will definitely stay here again. Thanks again for such a fun, low-cost vacation! read more

I loved my cabin and my experience here. It was clean and cute and close to everything. We brought our own sheets, towels, and firewood with no problem. I think for the price, this experience was well worth it. The only issue with our cabin was a broken bathroom door. My girlfriend and I are season pass holders for Bear Mountain, and we love renting from Cabins 4 Less for weekend snowboarding getaways! The cabins are super rustic, romantic and cute, the prices are good, the staff is friendly, laid back and supportive and there's nothing nicer than soaking in the jacuzzi after a day on the slopes! Unlike some more expensive places we've chosen because Cabins 4 Less was fully booked, there's wifi available. You are expected to bring your own sheets, keep quiet and leave the cabin clean and in good shape when you check out. Also the Cabins definitely vary in features and you've got to book ahead to get one of the more desired ones. We've rented from them probably 7 or 8 times now and they are our go-to rental when we stay at Big Bear Lake. read more

Went to big bear lake a few weeks ago. I always stay a cabins 4 less. I love this place and every time i go something has been updated or upgraded. You cant beet the prices here or the friendly staff. They always remember me and the things i like to up here. The last time i stayed i told them the wrong cabin # when i made the reservation so it was a little to small for 3 big guys. I told the about my mistake and they had no problem getting me into a bigger cabin. I go to big bear 5+ times a year and i always stay here. Your the best guys! read more

Those kids who wrote the other reviews must be first time travelers who aren't used to cleaning up after themselves and staying at a place like this. It's a great little spot. It's a cabin, on the website and correspondence, the caretakers tell you that you need to bring your own provisions. I've stayed at cabin all over the west and it is a great little spot. We stayed in Holiday Haven 9, the biggest cabin and could have slept 8 adults easily. We loved the staff (who could get you anything you needed if you asked). It was also very close to Boulder Bay and the free rentals (Kayaks, bicycles, poles, etc.) were a great bargain as rentals anywhere else could cost you $30 a pop. If you're an adult, with kids, I highly recommend this place! read more

I bought a kayaking deal from this place off Groupon. On the Groupon it says that reservations are needed however when we called they said that was not the case. They did inform us that they got busy around 11:30. We showed up at 11:30 and told us that they wouldn't have any available during a church group was coming in at 1:30. We informed them that not two hours earlier they told us they didn't take reservations. After a short conversation they realized the groupons were only for two hours and they agreed to let us go. However, I am not sure what would have happened if we showed up at 12. The service wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing. We didn't have any problems with the equipment at all and we had a great time on the water. We did push off at Boulder Bay which is really gross right now because of the drought. I would research other options on other parts of the lake before coming here. However, it's a good reasonable priced option. read more

This was my second time staying with cabins4less and it was a wonderful trip! We stayed in cabin 45 and 58. 45 is located in the village and was perfect for the first night because it was all walking distance to shops and restaurants! Cabin 58 was a lakefront view and it was absolutely beautiful! The cabins were both very clean and well kept. The staff was very sweet and took the time to check us in and out. My Boyfriend was working in Big Bear and I drove up from OC on Saturday afternoon. I didn't know what I would be expecting since he told me to bring my own sheets. Its a do it yourself cabin. Which I don't mind. I've woke up to the Big Bear snow in a tent so this was sweet and comfortable. I think they paid $70/night. And they let my bf check out late on the final day. The place is fine... cozy and comfortable. We had cabin #17 with a little front yard. We were close to the Villages and the lake. Great for the cost!! I want to first say the office staff were very friendly and helpful, it was our first time in Big Bear and they explained where everything was. I rented cabin #5, this is a small a very short walk to the park and lake, this is a one bedroom, futon in living room and small bathroom and a small kitchen with a office fridge in it. The outside furniture is very creatively repaired, there is a fire pit and bbq. I was not disappointed at all, I was happy it was Dog friendly and the photos of the cabin on the website are exactly what the cabins look like. They are not the cleanest cabins but they have a very high turnover and who really spends a lot of time in the cabins anyway. I do recommend bringing your own sheets and blankets for the bedroom and futon. They are very dog friendly cabins and there is some dog hair on the furniture, but like I said who really spends a lot of time in the cabin especially in the summer. We rented Kyaks and the paddle boards for $5 an hour, it was a lot of fun, our dog loved the lake. My grandson had a blast I also would like to say that when you get your confirmation they state very clearly they don't tolerate loud music and partying and they don't. We saw the people that were staying behind us on the beach the next day and they said they got kicked out because they were playing music after 10pm and as it states in the confirmation you do not get refund. So they are serious about that rule. I would stay again but it would be in a bigger cabin. I did not take pictures of the lake or cabin and wish I did so I could share but I was too busy having fun. Perfect for what we wanted. Came up for a last minute overnight trip with a 9mos Lab puppy. $10 fee for a hyper puppy was a great surprise. Very welcoming of pets. Rooms are basic, aged but clean and have everything you would need. No frills. Its a rustic cabin, not a luxury hotel. For the price, you couldn't ask for more and that's what I based my stars on. Pros: Free access to kayaks, bikes, fishing eqip., and more. Clean room, clean sheets, great people running the place (gave us great suggestions on where to go in town!). Great location within walking distance from the lake. One price up front. No cleaning fees and extra charges. Cons: tv remotes did not work, limited parking, short rental time on kayaks (2hrs). Loud noise when you use sink in bathroom. Smelly trash on side of cabin from previous guests. Overall it was perfect. Since we were there for only a night it wasn't necessary to bring up the minor cons but I got the impression the owners would have been on top of it immediately had we. Our lab had a blast and so did we. We definitely will be back for a longer weekend next time. read more

I really enjoyed my cozy stay in Cabins4Less a simple little cabin that has cozy amenities. You would have to bring some stuff like bathroom supplies food your own coffee and coffee filters and some extra blankets. I stayed with my boyfriend and two dogs I can not stress this enough clean up after your pets! They really accommodate to your furry family members but you must respect the rules and clean up after your self. A nice small backyard so you can watch your four legged kids. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed here about 6 months ago and it was great! I love that there is no weird cabin/cleaning fee. We also went kayaking and for $10 for the hour, it was plenty and we had so much fun. These cabins are definitely smaller than most but for a quick little stay where you just need somewhere to sleep, it's perfect. Stayed here 12/19/14-12/31/14 in cabin 24. Super cute quaint stand-alone cabin in the corner of a group of about 5 cabins. This is definitely not a party hotel or ski resort but more of a romantic rustic old fashion small cabin but it was perfect for us since it was just my husband and I trying to get one last little romantic getaway before new year and a new baby on the way. Check-in was a sinch as the office is off the main road and the front desk peeps were super nice and gave me advice on good places to sightsee and sled. You have to pay extra if you want extra towels and firewood but hey this place is super affordable. Bring your own blankets and extra towels if yah need em, but personally I didn't mind paying a little extra. The cabin is in a convenient location not far from the main road but isolated enough to give you that backwoods experience. The cabin itself is super cute and the inside is decorated to give you a woodsy retreat experience, if that makes any sense lol. Anyway I was a huge fan since I'm used to staying in resorts and hotels that are so unauthentic, it was a nice change. There was a small kitchen which made cooking easy, a cool jacuzzi tub in front of the bed which I got into evening, so relaxing, although it didn't get too hot, maybe lukewarm. The fireplace was also a plus and kept the cabin nice and cozy. You can rent sleds for 5$ deposit and you get your money back as long as you don't destroy your sled which was a convenience, and the staff is very accessible by phone after hours for any questions. Overall I was very pleased with my experience, loved loved the cabin and I will definitely be returning. read more

OH WOW! Overpaid EXPONENTIALLY. My Bad. A bit of really nice photography for cabin #107 on the website. Was very dirty when we arrived but luckily they left a vacuum, a broom, 1 towel, and some disinfectant towelettes so I cleaned up. No one has vacuumed or swept under the couch, in the couch, under the carpets, or cleaned under the toilet cover in GOD knows how long. EWWWW! surprised I had not found a family of roaches living in luxury. The bed was as hard as a rock until the memory foam in the main bedroom got a bit warmer then it was ok. Thank GOD you are requested to bring your own sheets. I would be careful about your suitcases as this place, in my opinion, could be a breeding ground for bed bugs. Our suitcases are plastic, so I feel fairly safe? Also: Bring toilet paper, paper towels, glasses, knives, paper plates, and a can opener (broken)! Additionally, if you rent #107, the pilot light in the living room randomly goes out. When it hits 50 degrees you can turn it on yourself or maybe the maintenance man will come and check it out for you, as he did for us since we are not experienced with gas heaters and was not interested in blowing me, hubby and dogs up in the name of heat! The neighbors in #106 had a pitbull that attempted to break down our door to get to my 14 & 12-year-old dogs. I was petrified, called the office, and they told me "to take whatever means necessary." ??? How about calling them and discussing why the dog is on the loose attempting to know down the front door? Ok, I guess not a "Management Area" for Cabins4Less. Make sure to be prepared for a shared space backyard with pine needles. They can get stuck in your poochies feet so be vigilant! MY BAD, I left my $500 Vitamix and a grocery bag of Almond Milk, canned goods, and an open box of cereal. I realized by 2:30 pm on the way back down to San Diego (checked out at 11:00 am). I called and got the MAJOR run-around! I heard "the housekeeper checked and it's not there," "we can't find it", etc. (all in text messages on my phone). I called the Big Bear Police to report it stolen since housekeep claimed it was NOT there after 3.5 hours with NO ONE else entering the cabin (locks are set to a code where that is tracked). Fast forward, 1 hour later they sent the maintenance man to #107, found the Vitamix & food. Texted, and we were asked to supply our AMX # via email - NOT happening. Also afraid of shipping the Vitamix so we drove 3+ hours up the NEXT DAY to retrieve my items. Additionally, some desk clerk gave my husband an ear-full and how dare we call the police. Well, if it had been a cheapie $20 mixer I would have let the manager keep it for the cabin but not interested in donating my $500 Vitamix to Cabins4Less! Sorry guys! When we showed up Saturday morning, the front desk person was VERY RUDE and the manager backed her up! They "informed me" they threw out my Almond Milk, Canned Goods, & Cereal as they said, "they are perishable items". Ironically in my text the night before, the gentleman noted he had my Vitamix and a grocery bag of food sitting up front for pick-up. **** I'm hopeful /the housekeeping staff, owner, or front desk clerk were pleased with our food. If you needed it just say so, don't lie about throwing out canned goods under the "guise" of perishable items. I donate food all the time. Donating is great; stealing is not so great.------ MORAL OF VERY LONG STORY: Be careful when it says "DISCOUNT" in the title. Caveat Emptor and I will. I am returning in March to hit THE CAVE but you can BEST BE SURE I WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE, even if it WAS the last place for rent-- I own a tent! I love these cabins! Big Bear is one of my favorite getaway places and I love coming early November to experience the fall season.. Cabins 4 less are the only cabins I've stayed in, they are cozy, rustic and quaint. I have 4 dogs and this happens to be on of the only places that accepts them. I read some of the other reviews and don't let them steer you away. My advice is go to the local dollar tree grab some fabuloso and some candles makes it smell good. I truly live that this place kinda feels like a home away from home at this point. The staff has always been super nice and helpful. I like that they have their own mini store close by for all of your needs.. I might have start coming twice a year instead of once. read more

Let's start with...great location! Super friendly staff. Nice extra perks that come with staying there...free kayak n bike rentals. Free Wi-Fi. Ok, now about the cabin itself, I stayed in Cabin 5. Small n cozy. Bed was comfy. Tiny shower that dripped all night. Make sure to have plenty of firewood to burn cuz u surely dont wanna turn the heater on. Heater has a very strong chemical odor when it's on. Very awful!! Cobwebs n small spiders, i guess are part of the ambiance of the cabin. Personally, I could do without. Cabin 21 was awesome! Small studio with a small kitchen and jacuzzi! Can't go wrong for a romantic get away. With that said, keep in mind that they do not charge a lame maintenance fee like many other cabin owners do out there. It is nice to save that money but it comes with EXPECTED results. You have to bring some of your own stuff. We brought sheets, pillows and out own blankets (for added comfort) as well as some towels and toiletries. This isn't the four seasons. Cabins are kept nicely but have some sign of aging. No top notch appliances but they work. We cooked both nights and had a small fridge for all our food. Heater worked great but it was more fun to light a fire. Bottom line, it is one of the better deals for Big Bear. The site is easy to use and the staff was super pleasant. We had a great time. The cluster of cabins are cute in each area they are scattered around. We will for sure stay there again. read more

It was what it was.. They tell you u gotta clean up and they have signs in the room telling u how to change the lock and wifi. The prob I had was the bathroom was cold and anyone walking by could see in one of the windows. And the front window by the bed the curtain was to small and bent but I bent it back up and it was fine. There was some holes in the carpet. The place besides that was nice and cozy. Nice and quiet area right on the edge of the village. We will b returning here. I never stayed anywhere else up there to compare it to but it was a good place to stay read more

I've stayed in 2 of their cabins so far and find them to be perfect for the price. The locations were great (one right next to the lake and one right downtown). Sure you could spend a lot more money for something a little nicer but being as it's "Cabins 4 less" it actually exceeded my expectations.
