The Quran and the Bible carry a common message: a good person helps people who need support. My experience at this center showed me the meaning of kindness and support. I am a resident of Wylie, and I needed observation hours for my bachelor's degree in education. I needed to complete my hours in Wylie because it was summer break, my children were at home, and I also needed to help take care of my elderly mother. I contacted many centers in Wylie and asked if I could complete my observation hours there. Unfortunately, some places did not give me an opportunity after they learned that I am Muslim. Then I contacted Kids Unlimited Early Care and Education and asked if I could observe at their center during July 2026. The Director, Ms. Vanessa Arce, welcomed me and treated me with kindness and respect. She completed my background check, and after everything was approved, she allowed me to complete my observation hours at the center. From my first day there, I felt welcomed. I saw how the teachers cared for the children, how the center was organized, and how much attention was given to creating a safe and positive environment for children. The center even has an indoor playground, which I thought was wonderful for the children. I promised myself that I would write a review so that other people could know about my experience. Ms. Vanessa Arce showed me that kindness and understanding can make a big difference in someone's life. At a time when I was having difficulty finding a place to complete my required hours, she gave me an opportunity and treated me with respect. I would encourage parents to look beyond just the services a childcare center provides. Before choosing a center, I believe it is important to learn about how the center treats families, teachers, children, and the community. I would like to sincerely thank Ms. Vanessa Arce, Center Director, for welcoming me, supporting me, and allowing me to complete my observation hours at Kids Unlimited. The staff has always been kind and knew every thing that my kids did throughout the day. They have secured entryways, and utilize technology to send me updates about my kid. I trust them.

I absolutely love Whistle Stop Station in Rowlett. My daughter had the best experience with her…read moreteachers, and you could tell that each of her teachers truly cared about her! We moved to Forney, and switched my daughter to By the Barnyard Gate in Forney (owned by the same family). I wish I could say that I love Barnyard as much as I did Whistlestop! So many of the staff and teachers at Barnyard just don't seem to care or want to be there. I NEVER get updates about my child's day at Barnyard, but I got them daily at Whistlestop! Everyone took the time at Whistlestop to get to know me, my family, and my daughter at Whistlestop. Now, at Barnyard...I'm fairly certain no one except my daughter's actual teachers know either of us. In fact, every time someone different has been to pick her up (i.e, my Mom, Dad, mother in law, etc...) no one has bothered to ask them for any information. Thankfully, they are people that were on the list...but what if they weren't?! Needless to say, I wish we could go back to Whistlestop in Rowlett. (We'll be taking my daughter out of Barnyard very soon!) Whistlestop Station in Rowlett is a Phenomenal School!

So my daughter started at Pillars this Monday June 1st. Her 2nd day there which was Tuesday June…read more2nd, I sent my father up there to check on her around lunch time because she had listed off a few reasons for why she didn't have a good first day there. After my father got there and spoke to my daughter, he called me and told me that a little boy had punched my daughter before they went outside to play, and then while they were outside playing the same little boy kept teasing her and chasing her and also kicked her water bottle across the playground. I was surprised to hear this because I hadn't recieved a single call from anyone at Pillars about any of this happening. So I called up there and asked to speak to someone that was aware of what had happened, and after being on hold for 5 mins a lady got on the phone and told me she qould have to call me back and before I could say anything she hung up. About 5 mins later they called back, so again I asked to soeak to someone that was dealing with my daughter being punched, teased, and her water bottle being kicked around the playground and the lady said that she had talked to my daughter's teacher and they all were aware of what took place. So I asked her why I wasn't notified about any of this happening, and her response was " we normally only notify parents of a situation if the child gets hurt"... So I asked her how would she know how bad it hurt my daughter when the little boy punched her. After she realized how stupid she sounded, she then said "oh I misspoke, I meant to say that we normally only notify parents about a situation if the child is bleeding or gets bruised"... I dont know which statement was worse, but they are both bad, and most importantly wrong. I told her that just because my daughter was not bleeding, or whether she had a bruise or not, that none of that matters and they should have called me to inform me in at least a reasonable amount of time. But according to both of her answers, I highly doubt I would've ever gotten a call from them to notify me that a boy had punched my daughter, teased her, chased her, and kicked her water bottle across the playground. At this point I was frustrated, and honestly wasn't going to keep my daughter around "adults" that were this out of touch with reality, and around people that clearly didn't really seem to care. So I told her that my daughter would not be returning ever, and then she started to get an attitude with me and then she hung up on me. So to all of the parents out there considering leaving their child under the care and supervision of The Pillars Christian Learning Center, I would advise you to seek care elsewhere if your child's safety is important to you. This all happened within 2 days of being enrolled there, I can only imagine all of the negative things that would've continued to happen if I left my daughter at that poor excuse of a Christian daycare. I would trust my dog to look after my child before I would ever trust anyone at The Pillars Christian Learning Center.

We had arrived for our sons first day, they did not know who we were or where he was supposed to be. We were walked around for 10 minutes from room to room until she figured it out. The lady continued to say "we have just signed up so many children lately, hard to keep track of everyone" When we did finally meet his "teacher" for the day it was a very cold experience. No comfort for the child and not welcoming what so ever. We had hoped this was an off day and spoke with their director Rebecca the following day. We were told this is not the normal and apologized and informed us it will get better, they continue to praise and announce that they continue adding more children yet the current children are still not properly cared for. Not enough staff in the rooms, when we show up for drop off there are typically kids wrestling, kids in corners crying and all around it looks like one big mess. The teacher is usually with 20+ kids and it is not enough. Immediately after discussing our issues, it seemed to be a touch better for a couple days as there was a new teacher and she was a lot better. But that did not last long and she was transferred and he got another even colder teacher. Everyday we arrive it's a new teacher, chaos, no consistency, no compassion or caring. When you enter the classroom, the teachers barely even look at you. They really do need to dive deep into their hiring practice. Upon visiting before signup, they spoke a big game and the facilities were all clean, we were excited to the fact our child would be learning while there - this was not the case. He was just recently at Bright Horizons in Plano but we wanted to get him closer. We have never had an experience quite like this and honestly hope no other families have to go through the same experience. We have removed him from Children's Lighthouse and got him immediately into a much better facility.

In my opinion most families don't realize the importance of preschool in building a foundation for furthering your child's education but if you're looking for a school that will provide structure education play through learning as well as personal growth and discipline for your child you found the right place. I couldn't say anything other then enroll now! Within the first 10 days of the school year my just three-year-old learned the pledge allegiance of allegiance. Front end staffs are always greeting you with warm and friendly smiles, and in my surprise this is the first school that the staffs / owner open the door for you in the morning and closing during peak time pick up and drop off. I appreciate how Sharon the owner are very involved with the school, and how she cares for the kids. The money you paid, are in return back to your kids. I have never spend money on bringing in tissues or sipping cups for my child... oh did I mentioned, 3 of My kids are enrolled here! From toddler to private kindergarten, all the teachers are great! Since i have experienced with my infant teacher Ms Joyce, Michelle, and Sarah. My son preschool teacher Ms Phyllis and funny Ms Z are incredibly patient. Private kindergarten Ms Renfro strict yet I love her! The curriculum are outstanding and my kids have learned so much at expressing their thoughts and feelings... well maybe a bit too much :) I couldn't be any happier! They invest time and effort in training new teachers the right way. They have a talented team of veteran teachers. Quality of food, crafts, extracurriculars have all been amazing. We look forward to all the special guests and events. There is a true sense of community and compassion for their families. Staff are all happy and friendly. We will miss them so much! Mrs. Kirstin, Mrs. Terrye and Ms. Kelly have prepared my son for Kindergarten. We were worried he'd have some fine motor obstacles to overcome in public school, and he's already tackled most of them!
